"Steps away from the riotous bars, coffeeshops, and clothing stores where several major canals meet the river Amstel, Flore is an oasis you’ll want to dress up for. Lunch and dinner tasting menus are hyper-seasonal, like the springtime Botanic menu focused solely on plants: an entire kohlrabi stalk with local wasabi, bites of pumpkin chawanmushi, bee pollen-dusted mochi, and herbs and flowers like dune foot and nasturtium. Nab an aperitif at Freddy’s Bar, since you’ll pass through it (they’re both located in the De L’Europe hotel) and try to book table #1 or #4 (of 11) by the windows overlooking the canals. Service goes above and beyond the typically straightforward Dutch sentiment, and you might even get taken into the kitchen for a course." - Paolo Española

I went in and asked for knotless braids, even showed a picture. When they were through, I tried looking at the product in the mirror in their poorly lit shop along with the rain hindering natural sunlight. It looked so, so. Once I got home I was able to look at my hair in the light, with a double mirror to review the back. I was horrified. None of my braids were the same size. They were NOT knotless braids…there are knots everywhere, and the braids are so big at the back that I won’t be able to put these braids in a ponytail. I am hurt. I paid 240 and when I called the shop to discuss my concerns the branders were nasty, and lacked accountability even with pictures. Don’t waste your time or money…STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP.

It was okay my appointment was confirmed for 8am then changed for 830am the night before, no biggie until the other lady arrived looking like she was still in her pjs hair not done looking like she jumped out of bed and came straight to the shop, bad breath and all. I believe I was basically robbed financially, I wasn't told the price until my kid was already in the chair and they had started even though I asked repeatedly for the price she kept swerving the question, then was hit with $300+ price, which was way out of budget and nowhere near what i had been quoted originally ($175-$200) but since we were already there and school started in two days i chose to continue. I never said to them that I understand french, and i overheard their "jokes." i guess me not being black enough was a joke for them. They kept referring to me as "that white woman with the mixed kid." Kinda hurt my feelings, but I'm tough, and baby girl really wanted her hair done I bought all my own hair. The lines for the braids are not straight. The middle part is way off center. They didn't brush out any knots they just ripped the hair apart. The curls on the braids just slide out. Smh, I WISH I WOULDVE READ THE REVIEWS FIRST. I've paid way less for so much better. Next time I will shop around. Sat I'm the chair for almost 9 hours and wasn't even offered a water even though one of the braider stopped to take a lunch and ate right infront of me.

I went to Flore's African Braiding Salon to do my hair and I was totally satisfied with the service. First of all, she is a professional on her job. She knows how to braid and my hair lasted a good time. Moreover, I was able to distract myself with TV and she has snacks and drinks available in the salon. Her price is convenient compared to other places I have been to. Finally, she has good customer service. She knows how to make her customers comfortable.

Not at all happy with this shop. Went to get feed in braids and paid $64 for style and hair. Price was great but the lady who did my hair did it wayyyy too tight. I've never been tender headed but by the time I left I could barely touch my scalp without cringing in pain. I tried using water, braid spray, and oil to loosen it up by the edges but nothing helped. I ended up taking them out that very same day cause my hair and edges are just worth more to me than $64. And what's funny is as soon as I was about to leave some lady came in to talk to the shop owner and said she had gotten braids a few weeks ago and the braids left her with a permanent bald spot. The owner shrugged it off and said braids just do that. I was shocked but it was too late at that point. When I did take mine out that night my hair was already coming out with the braids. Very very terrible experience. I was going to go back and see if they could do another style that wouldn't be as tight but I just decided to leave it alone. Again, my hair growth is more important. Be aware!

I would give 0 stars if possible. I got my hair braided on a Saturday and the following Wednesday braids started falling out. I've only had my braids for 2 1/2 weeks and asked would she at least fix the edges and back and she informed me that I needed to pay her something b/c it's been longer than a week. Well, I gave you approximately $200 for braids that should last 2-3 months that are not going to even last a month because you won't stand behind your work!!! You will never see another dime of my money!!! Don't use this place!! Bad Business!!

I paid $250 for goddess locs, provided my own hair. On the third day the locs started to unravel. I tried to fix them but ,doing that I noticed the braids were not even braided to the lengths of my natural hair before they wrapped them. I took them out on the fourth day. They used way toooooooo much hair! They were really heavy and I just feel like it was a rushed job. This is not my first time in this shop but, after this I will not be going back. Please do your research prior to going to these braid shops for goddess locs or better yet check YouTube and learn to do them yourself.
