I found this small, cozy, warm, and cute brunch place in the neighborhood. I am guessing this is veteran/family own restaurant because of the decorations, which I like a lot. They have very simple menu. I ordered French toast and country fried steak. Food was decent, nothing too special about that. Our server is very friendly and attentive. Service was fast. Parking lot is small, but I was able to find a parking spot. If I want to have a lazy day on my day off and do not want to cook. I will definitely come back again to support local business.

Came with my husband to the junk yard pass by and saw this place we were let go have some breakfast OMG I really like places like this I feel like my mom was on the kitchen 🤭🤗

First time visiting, lived in El Monte for 5 years never knew this place was here; small but spacious nice little diner to come have a meal. I had the French Toast Combo with a large orange juice came out to $22.20. With a $7.80 tip came to $30 flat. Food was fine/delicious, place seemed clean. Lot of help in the kitchen, pretty fast service, no complaints. The atmosphere gives like veterans POW/Elk Lodge/small town/diner vibes, a handful of older(40/50+) dudes, a young teen couple and a family with toddler was here when I sat in at 10am on Wednesday morning. Parking: I was able to find a spot,but it is limited-if busy.

Found this little place when visiting family out in Cali. Great food, great staff, and very military & law enforcement friendly. Had the Chilaquiles with a little asada. A lot of food for a great price. Highly recommend.

A very nice find. I had to be in the area and needed an hour to sit and have breakfast. I fired up Yelp, and this place stood out. It has a feel of a locals place where they have their regulars. My server was very friendly and I get the feeling she has worked here a long time. I was in the mood for waffles, so I went with that. The strawberry whipped cream waffle was very good and you could tell they use quality ingredients. Very satisfying. The coffee was fresh and hot. Just the way I like it. I asked to see the menu when I was finished because the experience was so good and I want to return soon. It looks like their Mexican breakfast specialties and lunch menu even stand out more. I won't often say this, but I am going to come up with some excuse to come back here soon.

The breakfast is delicious here and they make menudo just like my MIL, so that means it's amazing. It was easy to place my order over the phone and everything was ready and correct at pickup. Service was great, everyone was very hospitable and kind.

Whenever I'm in the El Monte area I make it a must on my agenda to visit Flo's ! Me and my family have only ever been here for breakfast, we enjoy everything we order from the nice flavorful menudo, to the carne asada burrito, oh and not to forget the classic American breakfast plates. The staff are always very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Flo's keep up the excellent work.

This place is a staple in El Monte, my parents took me for the first time when I was in elementary school and now this is my favorite place to take friends and catch up we ordered: green chilaquiles- 10/10 waffle with strawberries and whipped cream - 10/10 I always order their green chilaquiles with rice and beans, usually a hot chocolate too but it was wayyy too hot today. My friend ordered a waffle with whipped cream and strawberries and it was fluffy and light! Service and staff are always 1000/10 it's always a great experience eating here! I've been taking my friends here for years now, perfect place to eat breakfast and just talk and catch up. Parking is difficult in this small plaza, but you can park on the street and just walk over. We came at 12pm on a Sunday and there was no wait

Good morning y'all, is 6:30 am and I'm here at Flo's coffee shop having breakfast, the country breakfast which includes 2 sunny side up eggs, 1 sausage patties, O'Brien potatoes with biscuits and gravy. And a black cup of coffee. I was the 2 nd customer. When I first walked in, it seems like a tiny restaurant until you get further inside, there's a second part to the restaurant on the left. What I love about diners is the ambience of it, it feels friendly and welcoming and all the customers are super nice like is Thanksgiving time lol. The biscuits was super soft, I mean like fluffy soft and the gravy with beacon bits was thick and creamy, it was so good. The sunny side up eggs was good too, it was so soft, almost like eating it out of the shell, just slurping it down lol. The O'Brien potatoes were a little salty on some parts, maybe when the cook sprinkled the salt on, some areas got salty more than the others, it was still good to wash it down with the black coffee. The only thing I didn't like was the sausage patty, it has a smell to it. The first bite, I thought it was some kind of seasoning but then after the second bite, it tasted foul like is rotten, even though it looks pinkish. So I didn't eat the patty. After I paid, I told the cashier and she apologized for it and she said she'll let the cook checked on them patties. Overall it was a good breakfast, I even gave her a $5 tips, total came out to about $25 ( $5 tips). There's plenty of parking, it got a little busy after I left, even for a Monday, it gets good busy. Now, I'm debating whether I like the biscuits and gravy here or at Scotty's family restaurant in Whittier.... Both of them are really good. If you're in El Monte, come on in. Trust me, you going to love the biscuits and gravy and the ladies, the super nice. Thanks for a great meal

My wife and I have been going here for over 26 years. And it hasn't changed or should I say it seems to get better and better. The food is incredible, Yolanda and the crew are wonderful and kind people. They treat you like your family. Everything on the menu is amazing. I guarantee you'll be 100% satisfied.

We were in the area and had to come back. This time I took pictures! Husband ordered the menudo and it was just as tasty as he remembered. I ordered the French toast combo this time around and it was delicious. Good portions. Servers were great made us feel like regulars. Will always come back if we're in the area.

Definitely a cute little Mom and Pop restaurant. My coworker suggested this cause it's quick and close to the job. The server was attentive and took great notes for each of our order. Came out with no issues. Fresh and well made. The French toast was prepared well and tasty. Prices were very reasonable too.

This is a great nostalgic mom and pop restaurant. The food is divine. The quality of the food is superb. I ordered the Polish sausage and eggs with a small side of cottage cheese with cantaloupe. Everything was delicious and very savory. The service is excellent. The owner, Flo is delightful, considerate, and accommodating. The staff is primarily, family members which make the setting very wholesome. The restaurant is very clean and filled with old military memorabilia pictures. Parking is located in front of the restaurant or on the side of the street. Great place to eat for breakfast or lunch. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots.

This is a nice mom and pop restaurant. The food is good. Good quantity and quality of the food served. Came here with my grandkids for breakfast before they started their day at school. We ordered the Polish Sausage and eggs, Breakfast Sandwich, Steak and Eggs and the French Toast Breakfast. It was delicious. The service is excellent and attentive. The restaurant is very clean and adds to its attractiveness.

Yolanda and her staff are the best. My family has eaten here for years. The food is always delicious. You can't beat the prices. Large portion sizes. Please everyone go eat at flos.

I live so close to this spot. Yolanda and family are amazing people. Sometimes I pop in just for a to go coffee. But most times I sit at counter and order chorizo plate. Or Menudo. Both are really good. Kids love coming here. It's a family run business. I love supporting these places over big corporate dinning. Service here is always pleasant. Don't hesitate...highly recommended

2025 you cant find a great mom and pop breakfast spot that is awesome. Always friendly and reasonably priced. Support small business not the chain restaurants like norms, i hop and Denny's.

We love this place, have been going there since the 80s. The food is consistently good and it feels like a hometown diner with both Mexican and American food, which is like home to me.

First let me say that our last two visits, not happy. Food chicken fried steak . Like old times very good, chili verde enchiladas first time very good. Service fast and friendly. Ambience, coffee shop comfortable.

I choose to try Flo's today. Since I live a few blocks down and never knew about this place. Service is awesome, waiter and waitresses are always on top of their customers to check if they can do anything else for them. I tried their Menudo with pata and is soooo gooooood. I recommend this cozy coffee shop to people who loves feeling treated like having breakfast at abuelita's home.

Hidden gem of El Monte!!! By far the best breakfast I've had in this area!!! Not only is this a family run business but the service is impeccable! It's a very homey feeling with great authentic Mexican breakfast and home style food!!

Found this breakfast place nearby and they serve up delicious brunch food. Definitely seems like a Mexican brunch spot with an interesting interior designs. The food itself looks really basic but taste delicious. I had the country breakfast which was pretty much a classic biscuit and gravy with your normal eggs and hash. Also tried the French toast which was very good. The food here is solid and price was reasonable at about $14.99 each. Has the basic black coffee and it wasn't bad either. Unlimited refills if you need the extra caffeine. To note tho, they charge a service charge of $1.26 or maybe that's a percent of the total order.

I was here early, there was plenty of seating. Full menu at 6:30, this is a good thing. Service was good, the coffee shop is no frills and that's just fine. I had the tuna melt, but their menu has many options.

Great atmosphere great food. Good service. We will definitely go back. Parking's not bad. Could park in the lot or in the street. If you get there early enough they do do a brisk breakfast. It does get a little crowded but for good reason. But anyway, You should definitely give it a try for a good, hearty breakfast at a reasonable price.

I have frequent this restaurant before. The food is good and reasonably priced. My only issue: Without telling me, I was charged a service fee for using my credit card/atm card. The recommended tip was also based to include the service fee. When I questioned the charge and the timing, I was told that this restaurant is under new ownership and this is the way the new owner wants it. It's time to eliminate the CA service fees and tip policy and privileges.

Guys!!! This place was great! Yolanda and their team were so sweet, welcoming and accommodating. (Thank you!) I also mentioned my mom was visiting and she just turned 69! I didn't know this, but they were so sweet and came out with a dessert and sang to her. Mom is not use to that and was super shy, but I know she very much appreciated the attention. YAY!! We were able of 7 (4 were kids). We got the breakfast platters that were perfect! Pancakes had a nice chew in the inside with lots of tiny bubbles, the way I like it! That's how you get the syrup to soak in! Hubby got the huevos rancheros platter. It was great so we ended up order more! Plus half order of biscuits & gravy AND the French toast! We are a picky family of how hash browns should be. Lots of places do not have the same definition of breakfast potatoes. This places was great and had 3 different styles potatoes and even had pictures!! (Mind blown). We love breakfast hash and that came out as we expected - shredded, thin and crispy! My daughter was pleased.

Cool little shop on a not so busy corner. Adjacent from the donuts, the parking lot is easy to park in and Flos shop is easy to spot. I ordered the red chilaquiles and a waffle with a side of bacon. The chilaquiles were tasty had a nice kick. The waffle was perfect, fluffy and warm. I enjoyed the entire experience. The old history pictures were really cool to see and read.

I wish I would have taken some pictures of our plates! Their slogan of "...." is legit. The coffee was good, the service was great, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We enjoyed our meals. I ordered potatoes & chorizo plate and it was delicious. Since I don't mind sharing my meals, my brother and my hubby said my plate was was the best!! My hubby ordered the steak and eggs, but the steak was delivered in tiny pieces so he was slightly disappointed. My brother ordered French toast, eggs and bacon and he said it was good. As we peeked at other people's plates and the stacks of pancakes look delicious. The sandwiches and fries also look tasty. You should definitely try this locals place!

Food was a very standard breakfast restaurant, though it did have very large portions. However, I was disappointed to find that they played the news during breakfast. A one sided political lecture is not how I prefer to start the day.

A waitress recommended me Sausage and egg dish, thank you once again. You definitely have good taste. I didn't catch her name, but mentioned that she spoke Portuguese. Will be returning soon to try the menudo, heard great reviews from people eating there. The ambiance was also comforting, no loud music blasting while we enjoyed our visit. Flo's is a small mom and pop breakfast joint in North El Monte. Driven by here for years and finally decided to grab breakfast here. Small plaza, limited parking space. The donut shop in the plaza causes most of the parking getting taken. They never look open but they are. Ordered to go. Food was ready as quoted over the phone. Waffle Combo - $10.45 - Ok waffle, was soggy. Comes will eggs, bacon, and sausage. Huevos Rancheros - $10.45 - Decent ranchero sauce, eggs were cooked fine. Comes with rice and beans. Machaca & Two Eggs - $11.05 - Machaca had good flavor. Good dish but priced on the higher side.

Great place for breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were so good. I had the Monterrey Omelette and it, as well as the O'Brien potatoes were delicious. My husband had the waffle and said it was great. as was my son's Denver omelette. Service was prompt and friendly. The diner had lots of seating, and was decorated to honor our military. Would definitely return.

Very good food !! Felt like old times when my grandma use to cook for me. Home-cooked fresh hot meals. I got the beef patty and eggs but substitute it for egg whites. It was so delicious I even tried my sisters polish sausage and it was good too, the best I've had at any restaurant. I will definitely be back here quite often. Also, everything was a plus because of the customer service too.!!

My favorite menudo stop when I'm on my way to the high desert. Breakfast plates always look so good, especially the waffles. Wait staff is always so nice and ready to serve you. I always stop at the Azusa spot, although I've eaten at the El Monte restaurant which is just as good. I'm always alone but I feel really comfortable eating here. Always a treat when I'm in the area.
