Always a blast! The spot is right on the Bay and it's absolutely stunning. They've got a playground for the kiddos and sand volleyball for the adults. The staff is super friendly and top-notch. The food and service? Always the best. Today, we kicked off with some awesome rolls and house-made honey butter. The Deviled Crab basket was a steal for $9.99 - four deviled crabs and fries! We also devoured the Spinach and Shrimp dip. My Yellowtail Sunrise sushi was a dream, perfectly put together. Huge portions, tasty drinks, gorgeous views, and fantastic service - it's a top family spot!

Service was great. Complimentary bread and butter was great. Sushi and tuna poke bowl were both good. Shrimp and grits was very good. The pasta was ok. Once salt and pepper was added it was better. This was the least favorite item. The huge key lime pie was very good.

Flounder’s hits the mark for a laid-back meal with a view. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon, and the atmosphere was relaxed but lively, perfect for unwinding without the weekend rush. The weather was finally gorgeous after several days of clouds and occasional rain, which made the outdoor seating and waterfront views even more enjoyable. The fish tacos were crispy, flavorful, and well-balanced, while the ribeye steak was grilled perfectly. Tender with solid seasoning. Shoutout to Trish, our server—she was upbeat, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth and fun. Even with a steady flow of guests, service was quick and friendly.

It was excellent! I had the shrimp scampi Alfredo in my husband had this seared tuna tacos. Scrumptious! Brenden was our waiter and she was awesome. I wish I could give six stars. We ordered the banana pudding to go because we were stuffed. Great place for any size of group!

I’ve been to Pensacola 3 times and will be going back soon. This restaurant is always a must! Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. The last thing I had were the shrimp tacos, and they were incredible! The slaw was flavorful and spicy, just the way I like it, and so filling. The virgin piña colada is also one of my favorites—so refreshing! The view is amazing as well. I highly recommend this place, 200%!

This place is absolutely gorgeous, right in front of the beach in Pensacola, with a lively atmosphere, great music, and even areas for kids to play, including a volleyball court. It’s a fun mix of restaurants all in one spot, offering a wide variety of menu options: sushi, pasta, seafood, kid-friendly dishes, and more. We ordered sushi and it was exquisite, incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. We tried the Tsunami Roll and the Rainbow Roll, both delicious. The warm edamame was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of salt. And the cherry on top of the night was the Key Lime Pie, truly outstanding. Highly recommended for a relaxed and vibrant beachside dining experience!

Very beach vibe and overalls good experience. I was with a party of 3. My order (shrimp po boy & fries) was amazing and a good portion. My friends got the seafood nachos....not the best. It was a HUGE serving for them & the shrimp was plentiful but season less (it was just mini cocktail shrimp). We knew it sounded big but that was an understatement at best. It was a huge portion and unless you really love nachos it won't get finished lol. But again, my order was great. The firecracker shrimp was also good. Be mindful of portion size and ask questions for clarity. The seating on the inside is a bit tight but well decorated and dimly lit. I would go back again just wouldn't get the nachos.

Wow what a great place to enjoy some fresh seafood. The service from Ky was excellent - knowledgeable, courteous & prompt. Servings were huge. The togo key lime pie was half of an 8” pie as 1 serving. Everything were delicious, including the butter rolls. The gift shop next door was a bonus. We ate outdoor with a serene view of the bay. Afterward we walked the boat dock then visit all the nearby shops. It’s very popular so parking can be a challenge, but they have additional parking across the street. 2 thumbs up for Flounder’s. BTW get there early. The seafood chowder was very unique but huge. The bowl was like an 8” platter.

Love Flounders!!!Locals love it. Tourists love it! Like everything else right now, it's not cheep but you do get what you pay for. Right on Pensacola Beach. Indoor and outdoor seating, all the way out to that sand. There's a Playground for the kiddos. Servers are attentive but stay very busy. Our servers have always been great. Dress: Clean it up and cover it up. Nobody wants to see it or smell it especially not while eating seafood on the beach. Show respect. Tip your bartenders, waiters and waitresses. That's how they pay their bills.

Went here for birthday dinner with my husband and EVERYTHING from the apps to the drinks to the mains was perfect!! Our server, Ian, was the absolute best! We will definitely be coming back and fingers crossed... we get Ian again!

The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambiance was very Inviting. I felt a welcome home vibe even though it was my first time there.

When you think of the beach, you think of a Bushwhacker from Flounder's! It's the ultimate adult milkshake-cold, creamy, and the perfect way to cool down after a long day in the sun. The crispy calamari is another favorite, especially with the fried peppers and lemon seasoning. Lastly, the baked oysters are also delicious; definitely a must try! Service is always attentive and friendly, no matter how busy they get. Overall, a great experience every time!

I've passed so many times while in Pensacola and finally tried it. Though it was slow season for the beach there was still plenty of people. Food came out timely and was pretty good. All except those cheese bites (they have a cheese stick and cheese bite combo app). The cheese in the bites were horrible to me. There is an area for kids to play which is perfect for a beachy area.

The chowder yall! Could've had 4 bowls of it. It was delicious. There was a wait when we arrived but went to outdoor bar with our dog! Super friendly for animals and ate there with no wait. Walt was our bartender and was super friendly and attentive. Chris was the other one when I asked him for water for my dog it felt like I was making him do a task he was pissed about. He also got into an argument with a customer and made the customer leave. Least friendly bartender I have ever met... Food was good oysters were fantastic and came with lemon and butter the fish tacos had good toppings I just wasn't the biggest fan of the breading but to each their own! Would come back for Walt! Chris on the other hand not so much.

If Jimmy Buffett and a Bass Pro Shop had a baby, they'd name it Flounder's. Before you even walk in, you're greeted by what appears to be an entire fishing boat parked out front--as if they were too proud to dock it anywhere else. It's part restaurant, part nautical museum, part "where are we and why does everything smell faintly of saltwater taffy?" Inside, the décor continues the "Captain Ahab's vacation home" theme--wooden floors, ship paneling, ropes, nets, and more fishing memorabilia than a Gulf Coast yard sale. I half expected a talking parrot to ask if I wanted a table for one. Now, on to the food. For a place that screams tourist trap, the food is surprisingly good. I kicked things off with the Flounder Bisque, which they proudly call award-winning on the menu. They don't say which award, but let's assume it was from someone's Aunt Linda who has high standards and a ceramic spoon collection. Regardless, it's tasty--creamy, comforting, and just the right starter for what's to come. Then came sushi, because why not order raw fish at a place where the tables wobble like the deck of a ship? I've had sushi here before, so I felt brave. The Yellowtail Specialty Roll hit me with a refreshing burst of lemon on the first bite--a bright, clean flavor that whispered, "See? We know what we're doing." I'd get it again. Then my waitress, Avery (who deserves her own standing ovation), talked me into trying the Maguire's Roll, a tribute to their Irish Pub sibling across the bridge. It's steak on sushi. Yes, you read that right--surf meets turf meets confusion. Let's just say my palate filed a formal protest. Not terrible, but not exactly something Tokyo or Dublin will be fighting to claim. For dessert, I went with their Key Lime Pie, which could double as a structural landmark. This thing is three layers tall, with alternating shades of green and enough whipped cream to spackle a small boat. It's sweet, tart, and so big it might have its own gravitational pull. Delicious? Absolutely. Dangerous? Also yes. One slice could either feed a family of seven or put one person into a blissful sugar-induced nap. In all, Flounder's is exactly what you expect from a beachside institution: loud, lively, full of tourists, and serving food that's way better than it has to be. The view's great, the atmosphere is a spectacle, and Avery, my server, deserves a five-star medal for multitasking--she juggled several giant tables and still remembered my low sodium soy sauce. If you're looking for subtlety, go elsewhere. But if you want good seafood, a fun scene, and dessert that could double as a flotation device, Flounder's has your name written on it. Four stars for food and fun. Five for Avery. Zero for my sugar levels.

A must try when in Pensacola FL. Flounder's Chowder House has everything you need for a tasty and fun experience. In business since 1979, you just know it's gonna be an exciting time when, as you walk up, there's the actual 55-foot 30 feet high, M/V FLOUNDER, out front that was a real shrimp boat, a 980 pound Blue Marlin (world record at the time) in the the bar and be careful as you walk past the giant man eating clam. The place is huge with many indoor tables but even as big as it is, I would still get there early to avoid the long lines at peak times. In the back you'll find many covered picnic tables, beach volleyball, sandy playground for the littles and a Jimmy Buffett type stage for music. But enough about that. The food is what people come for. My chowder was without a doubt the best chowder ever! Floyd Flounder's Phenomenal Flounder Chowder Winner of the Great Florida Chowder cook off Featured in Southern Living and they weren't kidding. Be advised on their Shrimp boat Platter. Two maybe three can enjoy this feast of fresh caught Gulf shrimp and fish. And if that isn't enough their Key Lime pie is like nothing you've ever seen or tasted. Just delicious. Not 1, not 2 but 3 pies on top of one another. So a slice is really THREE slices. Lol. Your servers will make sure you have a great experience. With friends, family parties, dates or solo you owe it to yourself to give them a try.

When a place has been around since 1979, there is probably a good set of incredible things going for it. For one, it's the staff, like our waitress Trish who was simply amazing, attentive and gave some wonderful suggestions. Then, there is a massive shrimping boat out front that was actually used by the Flounder family for fishing. The set of boat motors hanging throughout the joint adds both uniqueness and wonder, with the latter being primarily a thought of how they haven't yet fallen down on someone's head. Regardless, one of the coolest decorations imaginable for a seafood joint. When it comes to food, classical like baked oysters, snapper and award winning flounder chowder do not disappoint. Pair that with a McGuire's red brewed down the street or a Key Lime Colada and the meal becomes a little piece of magic. The only disappointment was the poor macaw named Tequila at the front, who really needs a much bigger cage. It's sad enough when birds of this size are kept constrained for our amusement and it's borderline torture to keep this creature in such a tiny cage. Another small improvement is moving the plastic playground somewhere else, as it really ruins the vibe of this otherwise uniquely decorated establishment and blocks the views of the gulf. Those points aside, Flounder's has the things going for it that guarantee an authentic experience, a memorable meal and a great time.

Flounder's is one of my favorites to visit while I'm in Pensacola! It's right on the beach, often has live music, volleyball if you're interested in working off some of the food, and best of all PHENOMENAL food! It's festive with a great atmosphere, so you might assume it's just another tourist-trap, but I assure you the food is always fantastic and reasonably priced (NOT overpriced) for its generous portions! You're gonna have a lovely time and go back to your hotel full and satisfied! You think of Maine and New England when you think of chowder, but if you like chowder, you have to give Flounder's Chowder ($5 cup/$9 bowl/$14 to-go-quart) a try! It's award-winning for a reason! When you order a bowl, you get a decent hearty bowl too! No skimping here! Tip: Order something with fries because Flounder's has one of the best fries I've ever had. Seriously crispy and fresh with a well-seasoned batter. We tried the: *Oyster Po-Boy with fries ($18) - can't go wrong with a good ol' po-boy *Stuffed deviled crabs with fries ($10) - It's not soft-shell crabs, so you can't eat the whole thing, but the stuffing inside is delish! We were stuffed and totally satisfied. We couldn't even finish it all between two big eaters and had leftovers!

Solid place for beach vibes and seafood. Plenty of seating for any party size. Very popular place that will probably have a wait time. Since it is in such a congested area, you will probably need to park in the lot across the street and walk. I ordered the poke bowl for my entree. It Wasn't my favorite but I did clean my plate. I did try my sister's sushi though. Pretty good stuff. I'd love try this place again and I will ask for a recommendation.

I wanted some good seafood. I was happy I came here! It was just me so I asked for the bar. I was directed to one of the 3! I picked the one outside by the water. It was a great choice for atmosphere and staff. I got way more food than I needed but I left happy and full! I got the famous chowder. It was very good! And the fried seafood platter! Wow! Enough food for 2 hungry people! Everything was really good. Very good restaurant on the water. Busy so expect a wait for a table. But it will be worth it!

Our party of 17 went here after a Blue Angels airshow. The entryway is really small (not wide) for the amount of people who walk thru this place. At least, on this day, it was crazy-busy. We were greeted and seated almost immediately at two huge tables. The long tables could accommodate probably 16 people. Amazingly, the service was quick and the food was delicious. I was really impressed considering the size of our group. This is wonderful place to sit, eat, relax and people-watch.

We had a party of 10. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Many unique cocktails- large menu. Poki nachos and ultimate spicy tuna roll were delicious- everyone enjoyed their food. Biscuits Spacious outdoor area- busy place, glad we planned an early dinner. Very convenient to the hotels across the street. Large free surface parking lot. Tequila (parrot) cane out and visited.

My friends suggested this place for Brunch and it was amazing! The brunch choices were quite nice and the servings are BIG!! The Brunch listings (available from 10-2) include homemade hash brown, New Orleans beignets and fresh fruit. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food provided. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and Bacon Benedict. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and sat on a fried green tomato, with applewood smoked bacon, a toasted English muffin and topped with a rich Hollandaise sauce. It was a hearty and full-filling meal. I added a Bloody Mary to the meal as it was a long wedding party weekend. It was garnished with beans, olives, lemon, lime and a salted rim. The restaurant is huge and has a lot of outdoor covered ceilings (with fans) and umbrella tables as well. Since it sits on the beach, they are beach volleyball player courts for your viewing enjoyment also. It really is an amazing, fun place with very good food

Came on a Friday night in the middle of dinner rush, but didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes. Lots of seating options. We sat outside; perfect when the weather is good. Seating was a bit uncomfortable in shorts; high top tables. Split a Ceaser salad with my mom; it was alright. Tasted more like a Ceaser salad with Italian dressing instead of actually Ceaser dressing. Got the grilled seafood platter for my entree. Was pretty yummy. One scallop was noticeably smaller than the other two. I wish the potatoes on the side were cut in calf; didn't have much flavor. Would come back!

Bread, Mozzarella sticks, and chowder received rave reviews from my family. I'm told the steak and snapper both needed salt. Our server was good and I liked the bushwhacker ($3 special the night we went). They also sang and gave me a slice of key lime pie for my Birthday! It was a nice gesture, but not the best pie. I'd say overall it was okay.

Came here a few years ago. It is still a killer restaurant. Service is great, food is so fresh and great portions. Of course the ambiance is upbeat and beachy. Some live music, volley ball, and plenty of good food and drinks. We love coming here each time we visit.

4/5 stars for me. I loved the ambiance. Dark and moody, very pub like. But still able to see across and table and hear each other. Outdoor area is nice- but let's be real. I'll leave that area to the tourists during the summer months. Inside table PLZ ‍ James was our server & so polite & helpful! Gave me recommendations after inquiring if it was my first time there (which is was) and everything he recommended was delicious! Crab & Spinach dip- so good. I would've loved it to be baked longer butttt that's just being picky. Flavor was great! I got the grilled seafood plate. The presentation was STELLAR. White fish had a perfect wood fire grill char. Scallops were alittle undercooked for my taste (personal preference) the whole skewer for shrimp was grilled perfectly. I do wish it had some kind of sauce on the side, as it would complement the dish well. Overall- definitely worth the drive for me to try again.

Looking for a good seafood spot on the water, look no further this is it! They are located on the bay, so the kids can play in the water with no waves and you can sip drinks by the bar. They have volleyball courts, corn hole and plenty of bars. We ordered the diesel fuel and it's not for the weak. That drink is so strong we could have shared one, I didn't finish mine and we were there for 3 hours. But it was tasty! The wait for a table wasn't long and they were kind and patient with us because we had kids running in and out playing and eating. We shared some sushi, tsunami and dragon skin rolls, they were amazing! So tasty and fresh! Thankfully we shared the fried plate because it was a lot of food! Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious! The shrimp was my favorite. Overall great food, drinks and views! We enjoyed our time playing volleyball and drinking and eating. Would come back, highly recommend!

I was never inside of the actual restaurant only at the outside bar. We spent most of the afternoon watching football, drinking, and eating. My sandwich was awesome and the drinks were great. The bartenders were friendly and very fast. I recommend hanging out by the bar on a nice day!

An absolute must do for any visit to Pensacola!! To avoid a long wait, we popped in during the lull between lunch and dinner. It was still pretty warm out so we opted for indoor seating. The space is dark and dimly lit giving old seafood restaurant vibes. There's nautical paraphernalia decorating almost every free surface, including several topless mermaids! We were seated in a cozy yet oversized booth. Nate was our server for our visit. He did a fantastic job with service and recommendations. To start, the frozen drinks are a must-do. I am taking advantage of anything key lime on my trip. The Key-loda piña colada was fantastic!! Cool creamy with fantastic lime flavor. The house hooker comes highly recommended by my companion. We started with the shrimp and spinach dip. This was probably some of the BEST spinach dip I've ever had. Rich and creamy loaded with petite shrimp. The dip comes with house made tortilla chips, more than enough to accompany the generous amount of dip. The chowder is also a must try item. I absolutely love a good bowl of chowder. This one was no exception. Incredibly rich, creamy, and loaded with goodness. This could definitely rival any chowder New England could serve up. For an entree, we split a Fred Flounders flash fried favorites. Say that five times fast!!! This plate comes with a heaping pile of various shrimp, a generous piece of flounder, fried oysters, and a stuffed soft shell crab. The plate also comes with a serving of pineapple coleslaw. It reminds me of the slaw I make at home for my fish tacos. I will be adding coriander seeds to my recipe. This giant helping of seafood sits atop their flash fried potatoes. The potatoes are fries, but I'm happy to go along with this interpretation. We had plenty to take leftovers home. The spinach dip reheats well and we had plenty of chips to accompany it. All in all, a fantastic meal and experience. If you can only make one stop on your trip Flounders should be it!

So after a tour of the beaches and fort, which I admit had some of the cleanest and pearl white sands I've ever seen, we grabbed some food. I started with the baked oysters which blew me away. The flavors were blended just right, but there was a bit too much breading. The serving size was also mind blowing. For my entree I grabbed the crab stuffed flounder. The presentation was amazing and just so delicious. I wish I could have taken an order to go. My friend had the chicken Alfredo and it looked amazing. This place has so much to offer and if I'm ever back I will definitely pay a visit.

The Best Restaurant on Pensacola Beach. If you have to wait it is totally worth it. Seafood is awesome and so are the steaks. The ambiance is amazing. Flounders and McGuires are the best.

This is the most family friendly restaurant I've probably ever been to. We to Pensacola in November (off season) for 5 nights. We ate at Flounders 3 of the nights. All of the food was great. I got the seared ahi tuna salad twice, and it is incredible. We also had sushi, fried fish, the ahi bowl, and the grilled seafood platter. They have a good margarita. We also loved the bushwhacker. We were able to get a table by the playground each time. My kids enjoyed playing on the playground during dinner. We loved the food and the atmosphere!

We enjoyed our time at Flounder's Chowder House! They gave us the option to be outside under umbrellas and a fan or inside with A/C. We opted for inside as we've been in the hot sun all day. While we waited for our main entrees, Brady, our waiter brought us warm, soft and delicious bread with butter. We order led the chowder, chicken Alfredo, shrimp Alfredo and tuna salad. If we didn't eat most of our entrees, we would have ordered the key lime pie. It was a great experience and Brady was attentive and made sure our drinks were topped off.

Very popular place with beach goers. No shirts, no shoes required. Prices are pretty low and probably what makes it very popular. Had the Shrimp, bacon, Mac'N cheese. Generous portion. Shrimp and bacon was good. However, supposed to be made with several cheeses but didn't standout. Also, was little upset when ordering wine. Rose on menu said Whispering Angel but the bottle served was the Beach by Whispering Angel, felt like a little bait and switch.

Very consistent! Our go to spot when in Pcola! The food was good with big portions. The fried flounders favorites platter was big enough for my husband and I to share. The pineapple Cole slaw is way too sweet for me but if you think of it as a dessert then it's ok! The raw oysters were tasty and fresh. The service is fast and good even on busy summer nights. The dim lights give this place a drinking vibe even at noon so cheers! Yes, I recommend this place!

I waited 4 years to return for the stuffed Flounder....it wasn't as memorable as before. Disappointed. Our waiter seemed to be spread pretty thin. We had to flag him down for drink refills.

This is the best restaurant on Pensacola Beach. We have been here multiple times over the years and it never fails to impress. It has great everything.

We ate coconut shrimp, chowder, spicy shrimp and the food was delicious!! The rolls are always yummy service was amazing! Jackson waited on us, great!!

I love seafood but my family not so much. For some reason they were all into Flounders minus the guy who ordered a burger lol. I was expecting greasy fried foods but it was actually not! The food was awesome actually. I mean it's fried but it wasn't greasy and you don't have that gross feeling afterwards. The kids ate everything and they're not into fried seafood. The drinks were great plus you have the option to order with a souvenir cup or not. The food was fresh and hot and came out in a timely manner. The place was busy and for a large place to be busy all the time is a good sign. You expected to be rushed and quality to suffer but we were not disappointed! When we are back in town again we will have to make it a point to stop in each time. I can see why it's highly recommended.

Disappointing meal. Disappointing service. Ok ambiance. This place has become more of a tourist trap. My meal was the broiled seafood. The scallops were over cooked till they were rubbery. They were bay scallops so they were a bit sweeter and larger than ocean scallops. The white fish was not frozen, I think, because it was not mushy. Still its texture was off. The shrimp kabob was ok but the green pepper was under cooked. It really did not have much taste. My dining companion had the shrimp boat. It looked ok for fried shrimp. I think the popcorn shrimp was bought preprocessed because they were too uniform in shape and size. Her shrimp kabob had the same problems mine did. My problem with the service is simple. The waiter never returned to check on our drinks. Mine was empty 1/2 way through the meal. The decor never changes. But then why should it. The restaurant is a winner with the tourists

Great beachy meal. The stuffed flounder and pumpkin bushwacker were to die for. My wife got the sushi and gave it rave reviews. Great beach volleyball, live music and a playground for the kids. Always our first stop when we are in town. Jayden, our server was very attentive.

For what most folks come to Pensacola Beach for (family friendly, entertainment for kids and adults, proximity to hotels, etc.) Flounders has you covered. Personally I feel that it has been too commercialized the past few years and gotten away from its roots, but overall it has your bases covered. Pros: Diesel Fuels are still good, Clam Chowder is on point, and their hush puppies and beignets are legit. Cons: You can get better fish elsewhere, and the prices are steep for pretty much everything (you're paying for convenience and proximity to Casino Beach) Also, Daisy is a phenomenal server and they should definitely bring back the tee-shirt contests (IYKYK)

The stuffed founder is genuinely the best thing I've ever ate. No food has topped it. I literally go every time I am in town because it's so amazing. It's also an iconic place highly recommend. Been going there since I was little.

I was delighted to find "Yellowtail Hamachi sashimi" on the sushi menu at Flounders. I had two orders and I am still awestruck. The First Order I received was absolutely Gorgeous. Artfully crafted & executed, I LOVE the addition of the RAW beet curls accompanied by artfully sliced RAW cucumber. Pickled ginger & wasabi on the side. The wasabi was piped into a beautiful flower. Bamboo chopsticks. Perfection. One of the best things I have ever eaten. I will explain. This is a highly intellectually thought out dish if it was intentional. A dish of the highest quality in the world of gastronomics. Beets are highly nutritious, packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds, many of which have medicinal properties. Super Healthy & Super delicious, artfully crafted. My new favorite dish on the planet. When I ordered the second order the bartender says to me, "i'm sorry for the wait they made it different." I said, "Oh, they made the wrong fish?" And he replies; "No, it wasn't the same. Someone one else made it, so I made them make it again." Not a lot shocks me in this world. But I am still awestruck. The second order was not up to the standard of the first one by the bartenders standards, so he made them make it again before serving it to me. It was just as superb as the first one. Impeccable Service. A class Act. From a healthy perspective, I cannot think of anything else that would make this better, other than a refreshing Lime water to round out this botanical gastronomic experience. Was by myself and able to get into the enclosed air condition bar area. Had a very friendly Server help me out. Had a sushi roll and watched the hockey game. It was a very lively atmosphere being Saturday night. Lots of great food went by. A very popular spot in town.

Silly me! My flight was hours late getting to Pensacola on a weeknight and I was sure there wouldn't be any decent late night dining near my hotel. Luckily, Flounder's was still open and I headed over in my rental car - assuming it would be a tiny little hole in the wall with amazing chowder. I. Was. Wrong. This place was HOPPING! There was a live band playing, most of the restaurant was full, and I felt sorely out of place in the humid Florida heat still wearing my airplane outfit from Seattle. But the lure of some good food and a cold Yuengling pulled me in, and soon enough I was seated and enjoying a cold pint along with their delicious sushi, the jumboest of jumbo shrimp cocktails, and people-watching the crowd dancing to a pretty darn good cover band. It felt like the kind of place that would be fun to go with friends. Alas, I was solo on a business trip, but still enjoyed the open air seating. It was a great "welcome" to Pensacola for sure!

I guess I am a creature of habit. Every time I come to PB, I have to come eat here. Flounders is an institution on the island because you are assured a good meal in a festive atmosphere. With its indoor and outdoor seating options, nice bar and outside band stage, sand volleyball courts and children's play area all overlooking the Santa Rosa Sound, it's an enjoyable place to visit. Yes this is a popular restaurant and fortunately there is a lot of seating available. A few weeks ago, I had dinner there and ordered the stuffed flounder entree for $29 and added a cup of their famous flounder chowder for another $5. Finally you have to order a mason jar of tropical flavored Diesel fuel to drink $11 which I eagerly did. First to arrive was a complimentary order of fresh and warm bread rolls with honey butter. Delicious. The chowder for 5 bucks is a steal and tasty too. I could have eaten that along with the bread for a meal and been happy. Finally the entree arrived with some boiled red potatoes. It was served in a skillet and the flounder had crab meat inside and citrus beurre blanc on top. It was a mound of satisfying food that filled me up. No room for dessert that night. Finally, Chowders is famous for their signature drink called Diesel Fuel that is available in original and several other flavors. Get one. It makes the evening go better and you can keep the souvenir jar. I really like this place.

They were very good officiant in seating and staffing. Were seated quickly and waited on quickly. Great vibe for the restaurant and all of our party's food was great. Highly recommend the baked oysters. Tuna poke was pretty good too. Others liked the stuffed flounder and stuffed mahi. The fried platter was massive and good also.

Stopped in for lunch last week with family that is in town. We ordered a variety of entree and sushi items. I had the Cajun fish sandwich which was huge and had a great level of spice. All the food came out hot and fresh. I also enjoyed the KeyLada, which was basically a pina colada but key lime flavored. The ultimate spicy tuna roll was also very good. The servers were very friendly and even brought my niece over a little sand bucket and shovel to play with. We sat outside at a booth near the play gym.
