"Flour & Grape in Bermondsey shouldn’t just be thought of as a Padella back-up, although it is close by, because you should come to this walk-in-only spot to try the roast pork shoulder tortelloni regardless. Like all the best things in life, these guys come with a lot of butter. A paddling pool of butter and sage to be precise. This place is an easy win on all fronts really. "Apparently they’ve deleted their Hinge profile. Which is just one of the 86 approved ways of saying ‘I think I like you’ in the 21st century. Dinner at Flour and Grape is another. This handmade pasta spot in Bermondsey has a downstairs gin bar that says ‘I’ve seen you naked’ and an upstairs restaurant that says ‘I don’t want to see anyone else naked’. The roasted pork shoulder tortelloni should be your go-to order here, but all of the pastas are pretty decent and affordable. From rich mascarpone ravioli to a classic crowd-pleaser ragu pappardelle, many of the pastas here fall around the £13 mark. That includes the magic meat parcels—not a euphemism—the roasted pork shoulder and sage butter tortelloni. "The pasta at Flour And Grape will give you a lot of feelings. And unlike all the humans that led to you being single this Valentines, they’re the good-type feelings. Think Lassie-reunion-scene level, or ‘oh dear God, I forgot the poop bags... no wait, wait, bloody yes, there’s one in my pocket’ level of feelings. This spot on Bermondsey Street serves excellent handmade pasta, has a gin bar downstairs, and, because dreams do come true, is also dog friendly. "Flour & Grape is another pasta-focused spot, and it’s where you should be if the lines at Padella are just too long, and much like Padella, you can get an excellent plate of pasta for a tenner or less. We suggest ordering the roasted pork shoulder tortelloni which is so good, it will make you temporarily forget that other pasta-focused restaurants even exist in London.
