Lovely little bakery in Sydney!! We ordered a slice of the vanilla cake and an almond croissant. Both were very delicious although quite expensive ($14.50 for one slice of cake, $10.90 for croissant). Wait time was good considering that it was slightly busy. Overall was super good just a bit pricey!

MUST TRY! The BEST lamington I’ve had and the lemon cake was delicious as well! If there’s one thing to do in Sydney is try a lamington at this bakery. Huge portions making it very good value for money.

Ah, the infamous panna cotta lamington. Even though I’m from Sydney, I only first heard of this lamington through a Japanese colleague who loved it so much she flew back to Sydney just to eat it again. (I agree, that does sound really privileged). My thoughts? It is good, with nice moisture and texture, and not too sweet. But is it really something to go crazy over and travel here specifically for? In my opinion, no. If you want to aim to try it though: I came around 11am on a weekday and they were still available. Pros: - It’s not far from the Domain and Art Gallery of NSW - There’s a nice assortment of sandwiches/baguettes for lunch, as well as pastries. Cons/be aware of: - The shop is quite tiny and it’s difficult to really sit down and relax here without having to allow others to squeeze past you - There’s no toilets and the nearest ones are public toilets about 10min walk away - You don’t need to make a booking but I suspect it will be difficult to get a seat on a weekend or public holiday. It was a bit of a wait & hustle even to get a table for 2 on a weekday in the late morning.

The carrot cake was perfectly moist with a balanced spice and creamy frosting that wasn’t overly sweet. Both the cheese & chive and the blueberry scones had a beautiful crumb, crisp on the outside and tender inside. Paired with a smooth, well-balanced flat white, everything tasted freshly made and thoughtfully crafted!

Lovely bakery with some solid offerings. The lamington and chicken pot pie are definitely above average. The croissant, though, felt a little dry and didn’t quite live up to its reputation. The real drawback is the price!! three items set me back $40, which felt steep. Worth a visit if you’re curious, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you don’t mind splurging

The best in Sydney! The care and attention they put into their work consistently exceed my expectations, which is why I’ve been coming back for over five years. Their genuine passion for baking is reflected in the exceptional quality and artistry of everything they create. Truly unmatched and well worth the price. A must visit while you’re in Sydney!! Bought an almond croissant. It was slightly burnt, and no filling? So it’s just a burnt croissant (could tell it was great pastry though) with burnt almonds on top and no filling. For 10.50, no thanks

Staff were very friendly and was a nice atmosphere to work (with plug sockets) whilst I waited for a flight. Quite expensive though (£15 for a slice of banana bread and almond milk, caramel latte!)

Unique and delicious. Worthwhile to come in and try something different from the norm at this little bakery. I want to try everything I can set my eyes on. My stomach on the other hand knows my limits. Friendly service in this boutique bakery. Put it on your list.

Another staple dessert to try when in Sydney. Interesting flavor and more on the heavy side. Base is a butter pound cake w a berry compote and chocolate and coconut on the top. It's strong on the chocolatey coconut side so if you're not a fan of these two I wouldn't recommend. Larger than what I expected. Another one of those things you'll have to try it at least one when in Sydney

Quaint cafe with some awesome pastries! Really flaky onion pastry that had a nice sweetness. The sandwich was also very hearty and I really enjoyed the sauce.

A Canadian, this was my first time in Australia and was craving for a meat pie as my first meal (not counting the McDonald's brekkie post-flight), so I Googled what was near Hyde Park. Luckily, Flour and Stone was in the vicinity and did not disappoint! The chicken, leek, and tarragon pie came recommended by the server and proved to be the perfect balance of rich and savoury filling and buttery and flaky crust. Interestingly, if you want to dine in, you order from the Annex two doors down then walk your tray up to the Pantry. And staff and friendly and passionate about their pastries. Definitely coming back for the rendang beef pie!

Iconic Sydney bakery Flour & Stone is one of Sydney's iconic bakeries! The pastries are terrific and the cakes are decadent. Good coffee too!! I had to get a famed lamington before leaving australia! This one didn't disappoint. I also had some super rich chocolate pie.... Perfect treat!

Sometimes long line doesn't mean great food. Maybe we didn't order the right things, but I think 3 is a pretty representative sample size. The sourdough crumpet (served with honey and cream) is rubbery with no crispiness at all. The apple tart is fine, although both filling and crust are kind of bland. The custard lamington doesn't quite work for me. I admire their creativity for doing a custard-cake hybrid. But it comes across as either a very grainy custard or a really soggy cake.

What a gem! I absolutely love everything about this place! The food, the staff, the philosophy.... They have the best croissants in Sydney, the crumpet with whipped ricotta and honey is to die for, and of course, the Lamingtons are a must!

Thank God for Nadine Ingram!! Not only do I absolutely love her old style sweets on offer, the savoury items are just as good. Usually a place that does sweets well, do not savoury items well. The fact that EVERYTHING here is good says a lot about the owner and staff. There is no pretence here. Just good old fashioned honest food. Love! Love! Love! I'm not a regular, but when I do visit, you know the deal with the line. I have been here at its busiest and the staff there work like a production line. I was sooooo impressed by the staff member who was so on the ball and kept things moving. Worth the visit. Worth every single calorie. Only reason I don't like this place is bc I want every single item on offer. But stomach says no.

What a lovely bakery! It was definitely one of the highlights of my short stay in Sydney. Every morning I would have breakfast and coffee at this lovely place and it was always a great start of the day. I can't wait to go back once the pandemic is over!

After reading multiple positive reviews from various sources, Flour & Stone had been on my wishlist for quite sometime. When I finally got to try it earlier in the week, I was hopeful. Meh. Wish I agree with the other yelpers but I dont. Dont get me wrong, the pastries I tried were good. There just wasnt a "wow" factor....if you know what i mean. Zucchini, chilli and gruyere bun ($3.50) : Interesting flavor combination, especially with the mild hint of chilli but not overpowering. Pretty good when toasted. It was just *a little* too dry for my tastebud. Hazelnut torte ($5.50) : Pretty good. I like the hazelnut on top, giving texture to the torte Lemon tart ($4.50) : Not spectacular , average. The guys working there were very nice and patient with me as I had difficulty picking what I want. (luckily there were not other customers!) I will go again if I happen to pass by....but if not, I would not be making a special trip to Flour and Stone again. *sorry fans*

Amazing place to get tea, coffee, and a bite. Wonderful Chai tea (brewed pot by pot), great coffee, and delicious croissants, sandwiches, and quiche! This has become a morning staple for our adventurous days. So glad to have been recommended this place from our host!

Cute little shop. Delicious ice coffee with ice cream. Quick and easy, although it seemed like I could have sat there and ate pastry after pastry for hours.

Probably the best avocado on toast I've had, simply for the stunning sourdough. It was very busy on arrival, so take-away was the only option. The food was very well packaged given this. Cash only if you want to avoid the surcharge on cards. Will be back hopefully to enjoy breakfast in house.

This place is crazy busy. We found a table but there was a constant line the whole time we were seated. For being a bakery, I was surprised by the lack of backed goods offered - they had cakes and sandwiches and not much in between. I tried the Lamington (traditional Sydney cake with coconut chocolate frosting, vanilla soak panne cotta cake and cherry filling) and the salami sandwich. The sand which was was decent and had nice flavors and the cake was actually quite moist and not too sweet. Would have liked more of the fruit filling and there wasn't quite enough to balance the cake. A slice of cake was $7.00. The room is quite small and seating squished. Service friendly although they did set the wrong sandwich down in front of us and after taking a bite they realized their mistake and made it sound like our fault that we ate the wrong one. Wouldn't make a special trip back but if I was really craving something sweet and worked upon the block it could be a decent option.

Everything we ate here was amazing! Interesting flavors like custard quince tart. Wonderful light textures for their donut equivalent. Exotic tasting fudgie cherry brownie

Went here for coffee and pastries... small place so get there early if you want to eat there. Beautiful selection of freshly make goodies for brekky. Some days they have special offerings! Tuesday was lemon cheese donuts that were delicious

What a pleasant little place. I walked in twice durning my trip here in Sydney. The first time I purchased a mocha and the second time I purchased a sausage roll. The mocha was small but satisfying and the sausage roll was filling. On my birthday my friend surprised me with an Australian dessert called Lamington. Lamington is a sponge cake with a raspberry filling. The cake is dipped in chocolate and covered with coconut shavings. An absolute must try.

Small place huge on flavour! Every bite a sensation for the tastebuds! Staff are laid back cool matching the music! Flour and Stone is food for your soul!

What can I say? I'd move to Sydney just for this bakery. I have never been more wow'd by a bakery like I have for Flour and Stone. I've tried a range of their stuff and I wish I had more. That salted caramel tart had me going mental! The lemon drizzle cake I had? I would have bought 30 if I had known they were that good. Alas I was already back in Adelaide by the time I bought it. Speaking of which, their goodies travel well. Buy loads as gifts!! The ladies who work at the bakery are also sweethearts. Not stingy at all with their baking advice, they dished it out to anybody who asks! If you mention to them that their goodies will be travelling, they will pack it up extra securely. Our precious cargo made it to Adelaide fine! Except for the lamington that got devoured on the plane. Ahem. The decor is cute and their portions generous. I really, really wish I lived in Sydney just for them!

There is no better lamington than a Flour and Stone lamington. And if there's a better cake to be had, which I doubt, I'd like to hear about it. Plus, the olive sourdough bread is the best I've had in probably 20 years - they use huge, juicy olives, not those nasty things that you see on cheap pizza, that look like Lego car tyres. Enough said. Everything these guys do is exceptional.

The panna Cotta lamington was yummy!!! Sponge cake w panna cotta and jam coated with chocolate and coconut ! Who wouldn't love that !!! A must try in Sydney!

When I went to Australia I knew I wanted to try a lamington, a traditional Australian cake with chocolate, coconut, and a raspberry filling. I heard that Flour and Stone is a good bakery so I decided to stop here for one. It's a small cafe tucked away on a side street near the Australian Museum and St. Mary's Cathedral. The staff of course is super friendly and they have a nice selection of savory items in addition to sweets. I tried their chicken, leek and tarragon pie and it was delicious! However they don't have the same items everyday. When I asked to try another pie that was on the menu they said they didn't have it that day. Anyway, back to the lamington- the reason I'm giving this place a five star review! It was an awesome cake! Super moist with just the right amount of raspberry, chocolate, and coconut (I think there might have been a bit of cream in the center too)! It even comes in this super cute little box that is especially made for the lamingtons. Anyway, if you're ever in Sydney this place is a must!

Hard to find and even harder to leave without an armful of delicious treats. I'm slowly eating my way through the array of handmade baked goodies. From possibly the best lamingtons I have ever tasted, to slab cakes and even nougat, this tiny shop hidden away is a real find!

Actually going there is not convenient for me, I have to across the whole Botanic Garden and take 20 minutes walk. However, the recommendation of my picky friend attracted me. The shop is very small and located in the quiet street, no big sign outside but you cannot miss it because there are no other shops around it. The atmosphere inside is lovely, everything is cute, the ginger biscuit has so many shapes and packed for different topic. I order lemon tarts and shared with colleague when I am back in office. We all shocked for this delicious. The start skin is very fragile, even can't hold it for long. Lemon filling is sour but just alright, fresh smell and smooth texture. I would go there again to try more~
