A Sweet Boutique for Bespoke Cakes Is Coming to Kearny Mesa - Eater San Diego

"A new bakery that’s currently in construction will bring custom cakes and carefully-crafted desserts and pastries to Kearny Mesa. Fueled by a Kickstarter campaign that’s almost halfway funded, Flour Atelier is the evolution of a home bakery business that began more than three years ago. Renamed Flour Atelier, the bakery is currently scheduled to open at the beginning of October. Besides Nguyen’s signature large-scale cakes, the bakery will also specialize in smaller desserts and pastries including cookies, cheesecakes, and danishes. The menu will include sweets that reflect her Filipino heritage, from turon to ube leche flan and bibinka cupcakes, as well as some inspired by the upbringing of co-owner Evelyn Ozburn. The takeout-focused bakery will also offer Japanese teas and lattes featuring Asian flavors." - Candice Woo

A lovely local bakery with authentic flavors. I tried the guava cupcake and lavender cheesecake and both were delicious. Look forward to trying more.

Google
I could not recommend this place more. I need more stars to give them. Earl Grey cupcake: AMAZING! Yuzu cupcake: AMAZING! Turon cupcake: AMAZING! And all the sponges are so light and fluffy and delicate, the flavors are all so pronounces and delicious. Also got the cream puff which one of these workers said that they had helped to develop!!!!! OMG, must try and give her a raise. Finally for pastries, also got the ube and calamansi cheesecakes…. Buy out the stock when you see them. The filling is so soft and delicious, the tart shell is so buttery. Again, I need more stars to give them. I was sent here to have my first matcha experience and that did not disappoint either. We got the black sesame matcha with oat milk: DROOOOOLLLL my mouth is watering just remembering it. I fear matcha was ruined for me by how good this was. My friend said what made it so good was they whisk it up by hand. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! The food was enough to make me come back but that doesn’t even wrap up the full experience. The staff was so kind and doesn’t give that generic customer service so many other places offer. Again, raises! You get a raise and you get a raise! I will be back so many more times and will be telling everyone I know that this place is a must must must. Please support them, please enjoy their delicious offerings. I can’t wait to see what I get next. Thank you Flour Atelier!

Google
You can tell all the love and thought that went into all the details of this place. From all the little flowers on the pastry’s and decorations on the table, there is so much joy in the details! We took our order to go. I was really impressed by the tea flavor in the earl grey cake. So many fun flavors to try!

Google
Stay away from their Pandan. As a lover for Pandan I have high hopes, but no offense to this cupcake, but it taste like cake mix with green food coloring, added in. I didn’t taste the pandan and if Idid it seemed artificial. Very disappointed in this flavor. But I will go and try the tiramisu, earl grey and ube next. 😢

Google
I was here a month ago to try out this new place. I loved it. It's nice and cute. Although parking is a little hard to find because it's in the same plaza as mitsuwa. The cupcakes and lavender tarte was delicious. It was light and mildly sweet. I love the pandan cupcake. Most places who uses pandan in their dessert, you can slightly only taste a hint of it. However, their pandan cupcake had the perfect amount of pandan that you can actually taste. I recommend trying their coffee as well.

Google
I found this place because IG targeted me T.T They sell the prettiest cakes and drinks. The interior is so pretty too! Lots of flowers. The only downside is there are no tables or seats! At the time of my visit, it was forecasted to rain, so they did not bring out their patio set to set outside. If only they had a bigger place. It's hard to eat cakes in your hand standing up.. Parking is also tough because the parking spots are so compact. They had a sign for the Chagaccino, which is made with mushroom. I got it but it tasted nothing like mushroom.. The matcha and hojicha lattes were the best. The strawberry guava is an ideal option for caffeine-free. The earl grey and yuzu cakes were my fave. They were so so dainty! The chocolate bomb was pretty good too. I wish they had some kind of promo where you buy x amount and get x free. My wallet cried when I charged $50 on a handful of cakes T.T

Google
One of my favorite bakeries in San Diego! Such a beautiful shop with desserts that taste just as amazing as they look. They have delicious coffee and tea as well, can't leave without grabbing a drink to pair with your dessert! The owners are incredibly friendly and an inspiration to other bakers and small business owners.

Excellent light cakes. Perfect and not overwhelming with sugar. Mahalo for the Lahaina cupcake!

Yelp
Great customer service, plenty of parking. I need to say though, this is the first bakery that I've been to that had me go back the next day for more. I'm allergic to a lot of tree nuts and peanuts and they had MACARONS! Nut free! I have never seen that before, and it was amazing. It had all the components of a great macaron, a hard shell that has a chewy consistency and a delicious center. They are also as big as the palm of my hand! I came back and bought the rest of the strawberry macarons they had in the window. I also really loved their ube and yuzu cupcakes. Sweet and decadent, but not overbearingly sweet, and perfectly moist. I love the Asian flavors that they offer and can't wait to comeback to try more! Incredible! Thank you Flour Atelier :)

Yelp
I have been wanting to visit for a while and I am so glad I finally did! It's a super cute aesthetic bakery right next to Mitsuwa market. I came here around 1:30pm on a Saturday and there was a sign saying that they were closing early due to being short-staffed at 3pm. So I would just keep that in mind! Strawberry matcha latte - 9/10, your ordinary cafe Matcha, it was good ans the strawberry added a nice sweetness! Early grey cheesecake tart - 9.5/10, I love this because it was not too sweet (perfect asian dessert) and it was delicious. I will say that if you don't like Earl Grey to not get this, it is super strong (which I love!) Service was great as well and they provide bags for your goodies. Will definitely come back to try more desserts!

Yelp
Flour Atelier is a boutique bakery with some amazing sweets that are Filipino and Japanese inspired! This spot is located right next to Mitsuwa Marketplace in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Keep in mind that there is no seating inside, so plan accordingly. For their selection, they have great options ranging from cupcakes, macaroons, drinks, and more! In addition, they also offer some high quality floral arrangements and custom cakes for all types of special moments and celebrations. Wifey and I stopped by right before they were closing for the day and managed to snag a Turon Cupcake and a Pandan Guava Pineapple Macaroon. These two items we tried were delicious and a perfect sweet treat after our lunch! Overall, this spot is definitely a gem in the Kearney Mesa area. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Come stop by to show some support and satisfy all your sweet tooth cravings!

Yelp
The Black Sesame Iced Coffee was the best coffee drink I've had in a while from anywhere. It's iced coffee with black sesame cream on top. I highly recommend this drink. The Chocolate Dulce De Leche was the best cake. It was tasty with a deep chocolate flavor and not too sweet. It was better than the Ube cupcake and Lahaina Love pandan cupcake with guava filling. I love that this place has such unique flavors with their cakes and drinks. Their cafe is nice with fresh flowers and quaint decor. Giving an extra star for creativity. This is a great place to pick up a sweet treat.

Yelp
I have been coming here for my daughter first birthday cake puff pastry and also pick up their cupcakes for teachers, family and friends birthdays and it's always so pretty and so delicious!! My definitely go to bakery! Love love love

Yelp
Omg love the cakes and pastries!! Sooo good! Also did I mention they have matcha??! I highly recommend this place if you are craving for a dessert spot.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Super pretty and tasty desserts! I really enjoyed the hojicha black sesame cake! Super good! Some outdoor seats, but no indoor seats. BIG Parking lot because it's in a big mall.
google avatar

Yelp
I am so excited I finally made it in here to check it out! Selly made a couple birthday cakes for my kids and I have always loved her cakes! Had the matcha strawberry latte today and oh my goodness, it was perfection. I'm sad I didn't get the name of the girl who made my drink. She was absolutely amazing! She listened to how I like my drinks and made the perfect sweetness latte for me! The treats were all so yummy and I will for sure be returning and let all my friends know to come support this cute shop!
google avatar

Gillian W.

Yelp
This is such a cute shop that is a bakery and a floral store! I've only been here twice and the first time I was impressed with their desserts and their matcha latte. 10/10 would recommend trying this spot. The only downside is that they close early so try to get there before 3pm
google avatar

Christine Z.

Yelp
I'm generally not a huge dessert or cupcake person but I do love Asian desserts specifically since they tend to be light and not overly sweet, and Flour Atelier's cupcakes are no exception! The store itself is cute and cozy and is located in the same plaza as Mitsuwa. I was able to try 3 of their cupcake flavors: - EARL GREY LAVENDER: Light tea flavor, with lavender leaves sprinkled throughout which added a nice texture! - ITSUMI YUZU: Perfect amount of citrus flavor. Light and refreshing! - BLACK SESAME HOJICHA: The flavor isn't necessarily super strong but you can definitely tell it's black sesame, so I'd probably only recommend this flavor if you know you like black sesame. I know it's a hit or miss taste for people. Overall, great spot for some light, tasty desserts. Love their cute aesthetic and Asian-inspired desserts! A bit pricey for cupcakes though so I would probably only come occasionally.

Yelp
Great place to stop by got a delicious pastry and yummy drink. I had their strawberry matcha which i absolutely loved. It had the right amount of sweetness without overdoing it. I will for sure come by when I'm in the area again. Staff is very friendly too!

Yelp
How lovely and wonderful to enter and be greeted with a smile!!! The displays were simple and allowed the beautiful and enticing baked goodies to give you a visual delightful pleasure that brings a smile to your heart. Each item I had was fresh or warm accordingly and was perfectly balanced with sweetness and butteriness. Bibingka donut and the Matcha Butter Mochi were my favorites. I also tried the Chaga-Cino iced which was refreshing. The airplanes flying over detracted from the essence of the outdoor sitting area. Lol.
google avatar

Demi N.

Yelp
The butter mochi hit the spot!!! A spontaneous decision that lead to some great surprises that made my weekend! I first saw this place on Instagram and have been meaning to check it out. After a grocery run to Mitsuwa, I decided to stop by for my weekend matcha latte. When you step into the store, it immediately smells like butter and sugar, and I was a little hesitant because I don't like things overpoweringly sweet. While the cakes look divine, I'm not a big cake person. So I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they had butter mochi!!! I've had amazing butter mochi once before from my Hawaiian friend who bakes, and so I decided to try the ube butter mochi. The mochi was as good as the one my friend made, and it totally hit the spot!! I almost ate the whole thing in one sitting, and had to stop myself to save some for the next day! I also noticed they had a sign that says they serve matcha from PARU!! PERFECT because I've been missing the Paru matcha but don't want to buy a whole tin of matcha!! I'm so glad I decided to stop by that day unplanned!!! The matcha latte was a little too sweet for me, and I like to really taste the grassy matcha so next time I'll ask them for no added sugar. The interesting thing is that after I started eating the butter mochi, the matcha latte no longer tasted too sweet. Which makes sense because the mochi is so sweet, that the matcha no longer tastes as sweet anymore. So the mochi and matcha balance each other out, but I'd rather have as little added sugar in my matcha latte as possible. This plaza is going to be perfect to grab groceries and matcha on the weekends!!

Yelp
My coworker is Filipino and I knew she would love the cupcakes from here for her birthday. I like the addition of flowers for sale and the decor was lovely and girly. I got the Itsumi Yuzu, Ube Leche Flan, Carrot Cake, Turon, Lahaina Love, Earl Grey Lavender, Milo Chocolate Bells, and a FA Pastry Puff! They were so pretty and unique! My favorites were the Lahaina Love and Itsumi Yuzu!
google avatar

Yelp
Flour Atelier feels like a coffee and pastry shop that those in Bridgerton would visit. It is adorable, it is elegant, and everything in between. I'm thrilled that I finally got to experience their drinks and treats after seeing this establishment all over Instagram. My sisters and I decided to order a puff pastry cake for my parents' 43 year wedding anniversary from here, and it came out perfect. Not only was it beautiful, but it also tasted great. It was flaky and light, and the toppings really added to the flavor. When picking up the cake, my sister and I also decided to grab more sweets. We ordered iced matcha lattes, and I very much want to come back to try their iced strawberry matcha latte! As for pastries, we got the turon cupcake, carrot cake, milo chocolate bell and u-bae marble bell. Everything was delicious, but the u-bae marble bell definitely hit different. I have to come back to try the ube creme brûlée and ube leche flan. Anything ube is a YES for me. They also have a flower bar! You can make a little bouquet, and sometimes they have pre-made bouquets already. Flour Atelker js Instagram-worthy, and worth it overall because everything looks and tastes delicious.
google avatar

Kristine C.

Yelp
Every single cake that I have tried was delicious. There's no doubt about that, but the drinks all felt so watered down. I tried some of the hojicha latte and it tasted like milky water. I didn't even get ice in my matcha latte and it tasted like water with a hint of matcha powder. It's a small little store with nowhere to sit down, so it's more of a pick up and go kinda store. Come here for the cakes, but recommend passing on the drinks.
google avatar

Brittany A.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place! Finally got to before they closed! My husband got the calamatcha and he enjoyed it! Said that it was refreshing. I got the ube leche flan cupcake which was ABSOLUTLY delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The cupcake was moist and I love that the icing was more on the cream cheese side of things than like a sugary sweet frosting. Definitely will be returning! Also, the store is super cute and beautifully decorated.
google avatar

Han L.

Yelp
Got flowers here and they wrapped it. In the 5 minute drive home, it fell apart. I wouldn't get flowers here again.
google avatar

Bea P.

Yelp
This cute little shop is right next to Mitsua. They have a pretty selection of sweet treats and drinks. Seating only available outside the shop. I came with my friend who was visiting from out of town. I got the matcha with whole milk and a pastry filled with cream. The pastry was not too sweet but quite flaky. The matcha was ok. They have flowers for sale by the stem as well.
google avatar

Yelp
"Cake" - somehow it totally misses with capturing how special the dessert is. The artistry with which this pastry style cake is assembled and topped... is mind blowing. We ordered an R and T shaped cakes to celebrate an engagement. And the cakes were so beautifully topped with macrons, meringues, roses, orchids, fresh cream... It was the crown jewel of the party! Kudos to the lady-duo who are truly power houses in their craft. I'm so grateful I've discovered this bakery - I'll be back!
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
Flour Atelier is an absolute gem. Their pastries are not only beautiful--decorated with fresh flowers that make them almost too pretty to eat--but they also deliver on flavor. The lady helping me was super friendly and nice and gave good recommendations. They truly shine with their Filipino-inspired treats like ube, pandan, and calamansi cupcakes. The sponge was incredibly light and moist, and I loved that the desserts weren't overly sweet. The ube cupcake, topped with a small flan, was both adorable and delicious--a perfect balance of creamy and fluffy textures. If you're looking for pastries that are as stunning as they are tasty, Flour Atelier is the place to go. I can't wait to come back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been wanting to go to Flour Atelier for a while now and it didn't disappoint. What drew me to their store was their feminine aesthetic as well as their Japanese & Filipino Fusion Branding. Unsurprisingly, there were several cakes inspired by Filipino as well as Japanese culture such as the Ube Leche Flan & Itsumi Yuzu. I decided to go with the strawberry shortcake, which was light & sweet, and paired very nicely with the vanilla latte that I ordered. Located right next to Mitsuwa marketplace and Ross, there is plenty of parking and a great way to get some coffee on before shopping! I totally recommend this for coffee dates, flowers and cakes! I'll definitely be back to try more of their uniquely flavored cakes. The shortcake was delicious and not too sweet. :) Parking: Plaza & Street Parking Price: Cakes ranges from $6-$10 Recommendation: Vanilla Latte & Ube Leche Flan
google avatar

Andrea A.

Yelp
Came here on a whim after seeing the little shop while waiting in the parking lot for my lunch date to arrive. It. Happened to be my daughter's birthday, so I popped in and got incredible service and the most delightful cupcakes I've had in a very long time. They were Light and Airy with Incredible and unique flavors. The earl gray tea, the Lahaina, and the Ube cupcakes were top-notch! The sweetness is perfectly light, yet the cupcakes are still bursting with flavor. We will definitely be back again and I would highly recommend this business to anyone interested in getting sweets that stand apart from the rest!

Yelp
5 stars for the Lahaina Love alone! This place is so gorgeous and everything they have looks excellent. The staff was so friendly and helpful too. We bought the Lahaina Love, puff pastry, and an ube cheesecake tart. I ended up not eating mine for two days and it was still divine. Extremely fluffy and moist cake with perfect flavor and fantastic guava filling. The pineapple whipped cream on top was heavenly and a lovely complement to the rest. I absolutely adore this combination of flavors and would love this for a bday cake. Impeccable. Just perfection. I want to try EVERYTHING. And their drinks.

Yelp
I'm going to update my review now that I've tried almost everything on their dessert menu to a 5/5. These are perfect gifts. I've come at least once a week for the past 6-7 weeks and though the desserts might be pricey ($6-11 each) you can't find anything comparable in SD. The aesthetic, taste, and packaging. I love their coffee and matcha sourced from some of the best shops in SD too.
google avatar

Gen G.

Yelp
This place is indeed an atalier! An artist's creative workshop. You go there and everything is just pretty and relaxing to the eyes. My daughter and I had the Lavender Matcha and we both loved it - special mention to the artistic way they present their to-go cups (flowers creatively taped on the cup). Their cupcake selection is very innovative and captivating --but to be honest, I wasn't prepared for the price ($7 a cupcake) so I just opted to try the Turon Cupcake. It's good, although I personally think they need to make it sweeter. The ambiance made me think how this place is perfect for those who want to have a respite from their rigorous daily routine..especially mommies..be relaxed and inspired, have a nice feel of the loveliness of life.
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
This place is alright. The flavors of the cupcakes are interesting, but the cupcakes are too dense... I tried lahaina love, the banana/plantain one (I forget the actual name), and the ube one, and they all seemed so thick like the batter had been over beaten. Lahaina love is supposed to have a pandan flavor, but it was pretty weak because of how overpowering the pineapple whipped cream and guava filling were. The banana/plantain cupcake had a very artificial banana flavor for me, but I liked the crunchy topping. The ube cupcake was probably my favorite one, but overall I wouldn't come back or recommend it unfortunately.
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
Overall impression is there's a lot of style but not a lot of substance. Very much a good place for pictures - the store was very clean and bright and the uniform pastries gave a good first impression. We didn't order drinks but ordered the tiramisu cupcake and nut free macaron with the chocolate ganache. The cake portion of the cupcake was pretty dry even with the filling and espresso drizzle but the flavor was good. The nut free macaron was a pretty big letdown. The shell was totally hollow on both sides and crumbled, and instead of that nice chewiness you'd expect from a macaron, it ate like a cracker. Maybe it was just a bad day, but the pastries left much to be desired for us.
google avatar

Nix P.

Yelp
I can't choose from the interior or the food to be the best during my visit because both were astonishing. Not only was the little shop very inviting, the decadent and beautiful pastries were calling my name. Despite feeling full after lunch, my friend and I couldn't pass up to get at least a few goodies to take home. I had gotten the Turon and Ube Leche Flan cupcakes (these were the top favorites) and the Lavender and Calamansi Cheesecake Tarts. Both the atmosphere and their pastries captured the essence of a Filipino and Japanese delicacies. Would definitely recommend going here for drinks and sweets!
google avatar

Saleen D.

Yelp
Located next to Mitsuwa. Their beautiful pastries are all over IG & I had to check them out! Their shop is smaller than I expected with no seating inside but they do have a few tables outside. I literally wanted to buy everything to try but since they are on the pricer side, I opted for a few. The flowers that they use are so pretty & fresh. I tried their: -Earl Grey Cupcake -Itsumi Yuzo Cupcake -Lahaina Love Cupcake -Halo Halo Cupcake -Bibingka Donut -& a cream tart which I forgot the name of I enjoyed all of the pastries but they were not nearly as sweet as I hoped they would be. Which is definitely a hit for those who like that, but I prefer more sweet. They also serve drinks & flowers that you can buy.

Yelp
Came over to this little shop/cafe/bakery when doing some grocery shopping. Loved the outside patio decor which was the primary reason for us coming inside. Was greeted by wonderful ladies inside. We ordered initially only the vanilla iced latte since I was hesitant to try their matcha as I'm very picky about my matcha. I also saw so many desserts but played it safe with the strawberry. The strawberry was super delicious. It was white chocolate in rose gold color with glitter. I'm not the biggest fan of white chocolate but this was amazing. Glad I was able to snag the last one they had. I also had a bit of my boyfriend's latte and it was just the right amount of sweet. After stalking their instagram (hehe) we saw they had this limited edition matcha decoration in their drink (and since we were still in the parking lot enjoying our treat) he returned inside to grab me the strawberry matcha. I'm super happy he went back because it was absolutely life changing. It was just the right amount of sweet strawberry flavor with fresh strawberries pieces which I was delighted about. The matcha was just right as well. I'm looking forward to the next time I can drive up to try something new!

Yelp
very sweet service! the staff is very personable!! the cashier in the front was super nice!!!! the shop is very cozy and cute filled with pastels, but there is no indoor seating! just two tables outside when we went! the food itself is amazing! we had an earl grey cupcake and it was perfect!! not too sweet and the cream was more like whip cream than icing or butter cream!

Yelp
I absolutely love Flour Atelier! Selly and her team make the cutest and prettiest treats. My family has been ordering custom cakes and desserts from them for years, ever since she was a home baker. Everything here is not only beautiful but also delicious. I find her pastries and cakes perfectly balanced, not too sweet and the cream on the desserts is so light and tasty. My favorite items to order are the Ube Leche Flan, macarons, Lahaina Pandan, and the puff pastry. Plus, it's woman-owned, which is amazing! The shop is super cute, with outdoor seating, a drink menu, and flowers available for purchase. Very Cutesy!!!

Yelp
This lil gem in Kearny Mesa is exactly what I've always looked for. The showcase is filled with cookies, cupcakes, mini cakes, pastries, muffins, cookies. They have speciality teas w/ great juice concoctions that make for a fabulous tea. The prices are so reasonable. The desserts are not super sweet. They have a lightness and I'd love to think of how light tasting it is there is no calories to these beautiful tasty desserts. They have an area that has single stem flowers to create flower bouquet for that special someone. The service is outstanding and the assortment of desserts look like a display of art. This service is fabulous from the time you walk in, you are greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. Til you walk out the door. Outstanding service. My favorite place! Laura

Yelp
Best lattes and pastries in SD!!! I'm addicted to this shop- their flavors, aesthetics, and everything about it! Not only are their pastries creative, but they're so so delicious. I've tried the early grey lavender cupcake, puff pastry, black sesame hojicha cupcake, and yuzu matcha cupcake. The cupcakes are by far my favorite, all being the perfect density with light, slightly sweet creams. As for the drinks, my favorites are the matcha and hojicha lattes with oatmilk. You can tell their tea powders are high quality, and they handwhisk it made to order! I keep on coming back to this place because there is nowhere else in San Diego that does hojicha like here. Highly recommend if you're looking for your next sweet treat:)

Yelp
I saw this shop in Instagram and had to come by - Was not disappointed!! Interesting and tasty cupcake flavors that are thoughtfully decorated with the cutest floral adornments. A little pricey but they are definitely premium cupcakes. One of my new go-tos for special occasions.

Yelp
Visited this darling pastry with some friends. Not only were the deserts beautiful, but they are delicious! We tried the puff pastry, a couple of macarons. I can't wait to try the other pasties. Keep in mind it's in a busy shopping center so parking might be challenging, but this place is worth it.

Yelp
Flower Atelier in Kearny Mesa offers a unique blend of artisanal coffee and a beautifully curated floral atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. The warm ambiance, paired with expertly crafted drinks, creates a cozy and inviting spot to relax.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally get to check out Flour Atelier this weekend and they did not disappoint. I really wanted to try everything but I had to control myself, there was a little bit of a queue but it was definitely well worth it. No seating inside but they have seating outside. I ended up getting calamansi cheesecake, halo halo cupcake, earl grey cupcake, cream puff and then an bibingka donut. Truthfully your cashier this Sunday was great because she definitely upsold me with that! My husband and I tore into everything I almost didn't have time to take any photos, the earl grey cupcake was incredible, super flavorful. The calamansi cheesecake had a good citrust tang from the calmansi, its less of a cheesecake and more of a tart. The Halo Halo cupcake tastes so much like halo-halo all it needs is red beans, but the coconut jelly, cripsy rice and ube frosting, so good! BUT if you need to try one thing it would be a cream puff. Their puff pastry is airy and crisp and their cream, wow so light fluffy but so much flavor. It's also a huge compliment in the Asian community when desserts aren't overly sweetened and all their desserts are perfect!

Yelp
So I was told my hubby was bringing me treats "to go" from this new place. I don't know why I had a feeling they weren't going to make it home in one piece or should I say the whole piece!!! At least I got to see the before photos.Lol Anyway he ordered the *CALAMANSI BAR (Filipino citrus fruit on a shortbread crust) *Ube Leche Flan Cupcake *Itsumi Yuzu -(Matcha & Yuzu) *Turon Cupcake My favorite from the 4 desserts was the Itsumi Yuzu Cupcake. It was moist, light and a perfect treat. I enjoyed the decor of the flower on top of it. I've tasted a lot of Ube treats and the Ube Flan cupcake was also moist and the heart shape flan on top was very creative and delightful. The other two desserts the Turon Cupcake and Calamansi Bar were my least favorites. The Turon cupcake was also nice and moist but nothing too unique about a banana cake. I actually love calamansi but it was a bit too tart. Overall , I have yet to try their beverages. The cupcakes are a bit pricey, but I have to say in comparison to other cupcakes they are moist, light and they don't taste like they are full of sugar. Lastly, the presentation is lovely. These cupcakes are perfect for a special occasion too.

Yelp
Found this place by accident heading to Mitsuwa Marketplace and looked amazing! They closed at 4pm and ended up letting us in cause of our sad puppy dog faces smearing against the window. LOL They had wonderful tasting cakes all 5 of them! Not too sweet, and great tasting flavors. My favorite was the ube leche flan! I hope this place thrives and will be back to try their other awesome flavors. Can't wait to come back and hope the operating hours change to be a bit later as I am always craving something sweet after an Asian meal on Convoy St and this place really hits the spot.

Yelp
Your assessment is spot on - this venue's innovative blend of Filipino and Japanese desserts is sending my sugar levels soaring. The items sell out swiftly, often within mere minutes. Undoubtedly, this is a top-tier establishment. Everything edible inside the store is good. Guys, extend your hours please, your close at 4 on weekends and that is a good time for desserts, plus we need to buy for take home....

Yelp
This place is bursting with the best vibes. Everything in the case is so cute, I wanted to try it all. To start, we got a Lahaina Love (pandan cupcake with guava filling) and calamansi cheesecake tart. Both were delicious and not too sweet. The cupcake was perfect! Strong flavor notes. I loved the consistency of the calamansi cheesecake, but I wish there was a stronger calamansi flavor - I want to be hit with it. My partner also ordered a chaggacino which was good, though light in flavors. He says it doesn't have any of the "weaknesses" that a regular latte would. Interpret that as you will. While we were there, several customers ordered a calamatcha drink and I am very intrigued. I am definitely going to be back to try the rest of the sweet goods and other drinks!

Yelp
This business is unique and captivating friendliness with the first impression from the barista! The cafe decor is tops. Unique desserts tie in both Asian countries into the USA! The Bibinka is a new way to taste the Philippine Islands keeping a tradition. Matcha flavored artisan pastries bring up Japanese exotic eye candy with real flowers! Better yet, I love a nut free menu! Thanks for the delicious experience!

Yelp
The cupcakes were delicious! I liked the variety of flavors and unique selection. They don't let you do small orders online, but the staff were friendly enough to let me order the cupcakes and put them to the side for me. They were for a friend's birthday and everyone enjoyed them. They were beautiful to display and the cupcakes were perfectly moist and not too sweet. I'll definitely order more next time.

Yelp
I have purchased in the past from DIY Selly while she operated in her home. Her creations are beautiful. I am so happy for her in expanding her business. I love that I can now just order one small bakery item for myself when the cravings arise. I was finally able to visit her new bakery that she has opened with a friend. The name is beautiful. The flowers outside are beautiful. The shop inside, just as beautiful. And the bakery items, sooo BEAUTIFUL. Ok, so besides being beautiful, the items are also unique with asian-inspired flavors. Of course, I had to get the puff pastry. So beautiful and light. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. I was very excited to try the ube flan cupcake (?). The flan was ok to me, but the cupcake was very moist and tasty. I really enjoyed the frosting that was not too sweet. I prefer this frosting to the one on the puff pastry. My boyfriend got the banana cupcake which I did not get to try, but I'm sure it was just as great. Prices are a bit high but flavors are unique and for the quality in taste, I think the prices fit. Will definitely continue to be a customer. Wishing your business success Selly!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come to this place since they opened. Finally had a chance to and I am glad I did. The place is in the same little shopping center by Mitsuwa. Parking wasnt too bad because it was a weekday. But i know this place gets very busy. The design of the place gives it a clean and elegant look. Person at the counter was very friendly and answered my questions with a smile. I ordered the chagaccino. It was very good and will definitely order again. I ordered a few items to go. But have only tried the ube flan so far. It was very good. Very moist and not too sweet. Cant wait to try the others i bought

Yelp
Flour Atelier, what an adorable addition the Hawthorn Crossings mall where Mitsuwa is located. I was greeted by one of the owners who said they have only been open for 7 weeks. I ordered a hazelnut coffee, which is served hot or iced. I couldn't decide which pastry to try, but ended up having the FA Pastry Puff. It is light and flakey, topped with cream, berries and a meringue. It was perfect! The calamansi bars caught my eye on my way out, but I'll have to try them on my next visit. There is also merchandise and fresh flowers for sale. My only wish is that they had a few tables and chairs to sit and enjoy my purchases. Hopefully they will have seating in the future.
