The 14 Best Doughnut Shops In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You’ve probably seen Flour Fresh Cream Donut’s eye-catching treats at a few Koreatown cafes (they’re the donut supplier for popular spots like Memorylook and Cafe Upper). But their flagship location is worth a special visit, with its wide array of sweet tooth options. This bright pink stall in Rodeo Galleria mall has a pastry window filled with gorgeous, cream-filled donuts decorated with cookie crumbs, powdered sugar, and various fruits. The creme brulee donut, with its crackly torched sugar crust and custard filling, is hard to top. For something less sweet, get the black sesame one, filled with red bean mochi, or the blueberry milk cream with fresh blueberries mixed in." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park

Google
This is where I am going for cream donuts. Not custard but fluffy and light cream donuts. I dont know about spending time inside the venue but seems like an easy take out place. The parking is tight and its in the busy part of La Brea but its definitely a must stop place for me to quickly walk to when I am hitting up the Target/Sprouts on La Brea/San Vincente or leaving my car to get washed at Express Wash. The Creme Brulee is probably by favorite. It's not cheap but definitely a treat.

Google
All of them are good but the black sesame donut was amazing!! There is mochi, red bean and a black sesame cream in the center but somehow isn’t too sweet. Everything tastes super fresh and the flavors are prominent. Worth the hype & great!!

Google
So good! When visiting LA, you quickly see there is no shortage of donut shops. Wanted some highly rated donuts and this shop delivered. Cost was high but these are elevated, not basic donuts. Four of us got a box of 9 donuts and they were still good the next day (stored in the fridge). I loved the matcha and black sesame ones. The others opted for more chocolate and fruit types. There were no complaints and no donuts left. Highly recommend.

Google
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a bit and it did not disappoint! The sweet potato donut was especially unique and everything was so fresh and delicious. Will definitely return!

Google
Have been wanting to check out this new donut shop for a while, and im so glad we did! The person helping us was so helpful in making our selections, and wow were the donuts good! Most donuts i can only handle one because theres just so much sugar, but the donuts here are heavy and flavor and quality instead of an overwhelming amount of sugar. That's not to say the donuts aren't sweet, but they taste like high end pastries instead of sugar bombs. I had the blueberry and brule donuts, both were phenomenal, but the blueberry was my favorite. It was light and the blueberry flavor throughout the donut was really lovely. The brule donut was also wonderful, and truly inspired! Im already excited for the next time I come here, cant wait to try more!!

Google
A perfect treat for anytime of day, just the right level of sweet and decadence. A nice fresh take on donuts. Easy parking and friendly service.

Google
This place is delicious! I got the blueberry milk cream, the sweet potato, and the misutgaru, and all were fantastic. The donuts are soft and fluffy, with just a hint of very pleasant chewiness. The cream inside is rich, flavorful, and very generously applied. All the donuts had the perfect balance of sweetness, delivering wonderful flavor without being too sugar heavy. The gentleman who assisted me today was warm, friendly, and very helpful. The shop is bright and clean, with a couple of two-seater tables if you choose to dine in. This is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood, I will definitely be back!

Google
A hidden gem. I've literally been thinking about these donuts daily since I had one. Unique flavors, beautifully presented. And when they say FRESH CREAM they MEAN IT. Doughnuts are piped full of the most sublty sweet fresh cream. The donut was soft and fluffy. I had the black sesame and my partner had the Matcha Brulee. YES. MATCHA BRULEE 🫠These were divine. And incredibly affordable. You're gonna want one of everything so...take some to go 😂 I was so impressed by the care that went into the packaging and presentation. Do-not miss this spot.

Yelp
I went to their smaller location around an hour near closing time where they had about 4 options left. I would recommend going earlier since all the popular ones were already gone. I did manage to snag the below. Their donuts are super high quality and literally the perfect "sweetness" of not too sweet. Black Sesame Cream Donut (5/5): This donut had a very light dough that wasn't oily or heavy at all. My favorite part was definitely the black sesame cream filling on the inside. It was a generous amount that was packed with nutty black sesame cream that was the perfect amount of sweetness. The inside filling also had a layer of chewy mochi mixed with red beans that was a nice surprise! I would definitely come back here to try their other donut options!

Yelp
This rating is for the donuts and the service. The donuts are great! I think it might be my new favorite donut. It's like an asian donut and the whole foods berry chantilly cake had a baby. It's very fresh! I like a chewy yeasted donut, and this hit the spot. I had a blueberry cream donut, which was not too sweet. They had plenty of sweeter options too if that's your preference. The person at the counter was super. I made a mistake and clicked through the payment options too quickly and forgot to tip her. On the way home I felt so bad I had to come write this review.

Yelp
I don't usually have a sweet tooth, but when the craving hit, I wanted something indulgent yet light -- and Flour on La Brea delivered big time. I stopped by late, half-expecting the shelves to be bare, but to my surprise, they still had a solid selection, and everything I picked up tasted incredibly fresh -- even into the next day! The Strawberry Milk Cream was a showstopper -- creamy, fruity, and perfectly balanced. The Crème Brûlée and Coffee Brûlée were beautifully torched with that satisfying crackle on top and rich custard centers that didn't feel heavy at all. And the Bacon Donut? A genius sweet-and-savory combo that I didn't know I needed. Only one person was working at the time, but he was courteous and efficient, making the whole experience feel warm and unrushed. If you're in the mood for something sweet that doesn't weigh you down, this spot is a must. I'll definitely be back -- even if my sweet tooth is still on vacation.

Yelp
Ayoooo!! I haven't been to this new location, only the OG in KTown. I got the Creme Brûlée Donut and was a lil Disappointed cause it didn't have the distinctive Crackly Crunch. It's prolly cause i came towards closing, wish they could torch to order but it's prolly not feasible. I'll come back earlier to check out some other flavors. Staff was super nice, Cards are accepted. They do have a small parking lot. Support Small business says!

Yelp
I've been to the other location before. This location isn't as nice with a smaller parking lot but the donuts and service are just as stellar. Inside is cozy and clean with the donuts neatly displayed. I went around 3 pm on Sunday and they still had a good amount/variety of donuts available. The crème brulee is as delicious as always, black sesame has a nice flavor that's not too overwhelming or sweet. I can see why this is a popular choice. Pistachio is supposedly airier popular choice and it isn't overly sweet either with fluffy cream in it. I think I preferred the other two over the pistachio only because I'm not as keen on pistachio flavor overall. But if you love pistachio, then this would be a good one. Also got a strawberry which is a safe choice. The cashier was super kind and I appreciated his helpful input on the donut flavors and patience while I took forever trying to decide which flavors to get. Definitely the best Korean donuts in LA for sure!

Yelp
Heard all about these donuts from TD. FLFR. Yelp Tip: Make sure to Refrigerate them. They taste better! Anyways, walked into the store and saw all the yummies on display. Ordered the following: 1. Strawberry 2. Black Sesame 3. Pistachio 4. Matcha Brûlée They range from $4 to $6 a donut. Overall, I liked the strawberry the best. But my favorite dough will always be another shop I frequent :)

Yelp
The donuts are so cute and delicious! We went on a Sunday morning and all the donuts are freshly made. We ordered a lot of different donuts and brought to a party. The service was great and we did not wait that long.

Yelp
Recently, I've been wanting to try more cream donuts and found out about Flour Fresh Cream Donut on social media. I went to their new LA location on Friday and arrived about 30 minutes before closing. The shop was open, yet there was no one at the counter. I waited a few minutes, thinking the staff could be in the kitchen or restroom, and I was correct as the staff member exited the restroom. It seems like there was only one staff member working at the time, and they were nice and answered my questions about the menu. As for the ambiance: the shop's on a corner of a small plaza with a parking lot. There are big windows and a few indoor stools & tables for small parties, but it feels more like a grab-and-go place to me. The decor's minimal and sleek with pops of pink and yellow. As for the donuts: there weren't many left since it was the end of the day. I ordered a box of four to share with family and friends, including the Black Sesame, Misugaru, Pistachio Cream, and Strawberry Milk Cream. The donuts had more cream than what I'm used to, but it was light and nicely flavored based on the donut. The dough of the donuts were consistent between each flavor, albeit a bit dry. I liked the Black Sesame donut the most because it was quite fragrant and had a tasty roasted flavor. The Misugaru donut was a close second with its chewy red bean mochi filling and being not too sweet.

Yelp
OMG yum! Flour Fresh Cream Donuts is a heavenly cream filled donut shop. They carry the best donuts because they aren't too sweet and are so good. I came to grab some and ended up getting their black sesame, creme burlee, and strawberries and cream one. The nice guy behind the counter helped us. My favorite ended up being the creme burlee one. It had a nice hard outer sweet shell and was filled with the most delicious creme burlee filling. Yummy yum! The black sesame was also good. The strawberry one was a little basic for my liking. The inside of this place is smaller and super casual. There are a few places to sit and enjoy your donut. I believe it is Korean own which I prefer. These are speciality donuts so they do run a little more than your average donut. They are well worth it though.

Yelp
Bright, clean and modern upgrade to the former donut store located on this busy corner. I was greeted by Rachel with a smile and helpful mannerisms. It is the soft opening, yet there was plenty to choose from. I opted for the Coffee Crème Brûlée, Pistachio, and an extra Blueberry Crème. All were delightful renditions of cakes and desserts I have had before. I loved them all!

Yelp
Saw this place on TikTok and thought I should check it out since it was pretty close by. The outside of the store was simple, yet appealing. The parking is a bit hard as the parking lot is quite small. I waited a little bit and something opened up. I went later in the day so most of the donuts were gone. The donuts were fluffy and fresh. They weren't AS sweet so I really liked that. I will definitely be back to try the others. I was able to get the following: - Coffee Brulee - Black Sesame- at first taste, I didn't like this one but then it slowly grew on me. - PB&J- This was very peanut butter and jelly sandwich-like. - Tiramisu - Regular glazed - Smores I downloaded their app and was able to get 5% off. Donuts are on the pricey side...but the packaging and the way they look would be good for gifts and parties.

Yelp
The service was good. They encourage browsing before selection. The place is simple and cute. Plenty of parking. These are fancy donuts. Average prices...

Yelp
Great cream-filled donuts. Parking is easy in the starbucks next door. Not too sweet and they let the glaze/cream carry. Nice variety of flavors and staff is very kind.

Yelp
This place barely opened so decided to swing by. Full transparency: everything in here is SWEET! So don't expect savory. We tried the crème brûlée, a coffee brûlée, a red bean, and a strawberry donut. Each was REAL sweet! Fantastic but be prepared to only be able to finish one at a time but sweet tooth people rejoice! Also left with an egg salad sandwich. The bread was very sweet (kinds their thing) and it was very tasty. There are a few tables inside and service was fast and friendly! There's parking in front!

Yelp
Was driving home to the valley after having lunch with a friend in Culver City when I saw this spot. I only saw "fresh cream" and "now open" and was intrigued, so I did a quick yelp search to see what this place was and immediately turned around for it! I got 4 donuts. The coffee and the regular creme brûlée donuts were AMAZING. best brulee crust ever. Tasty filling. Top notch. My husband had the bacon donut and said it was fine, but nothing special. I also tried the sweet potato donut and while it wasn't bad by any means, I just think it isn't for me. But the quality of all the donuts was great and I'd definitely go back for the brûlée donuts.

Yelp
Super small lot off La Brea in a high traffic area. That said, the donuts were exceptional. Pricey at $4 - $5 a pop but these ain't Krispy Kreme's. We got Bacon, Boston Cream, and Crème Brûlée. Brûlée was the best, with a caramelized sugar crust on WHOLE donut and a delicious custard filling. Super rich, but really really good. Boston Cream was good, almost a dark chocolate with a light whip filling, think cool-whip but not cold. The actual donut was really f'ing good, like a funnel cake type texture but light/airy. Would have eaten one plain. Bacon one sucked tbh. Taste...not good without the maple element and the bacon they use is super porky/smoky, not in a good way. Almost taste like bacon bits but fresh version, if that makes sense. Will be back.

Yelp
Great service! Rachel is the best. Always friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are excellent - great for sharing and guests as well. Appreciate the freshness and quality ingredients.

Yelp
Sweetest Korean dad runs the store! Me and my boyfriend came around 4pm and they were sold out on most of the donuts but we were able to try Blueberry, Choco, Cookies n Cream, and Sweet Potato flavors which were all yummy. I like that the cream here isn't too overbearingly sweet and would definitely come back for more.
google avatar

Misa O.

Yelp
These donuts are AMAZING! I especially love the Misugaru one because of the added flavors and textures of the mochi & red bean paste inside. The Oreo one is super sweet if that's your thing. I also like that they have some parking outside and the worker was super friendly. I acrually prefer Old Ferry Donuts' cream-filled donuts to be honest, but this spot is a close second!
google avatar

Enrique M.

Yelp
Chris helped us out today as it was our first time here! He went down the line to explain every donut and it's filling. The shop was clean and very welcoming. My Latte was delicious. I mean I don't have much to say other than I enjoyed my time here and the donuts were very tasty I will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
I was really craving this donut, but the other store in K-town was closed on Sunday. Luckily, I found a soft-opened location in Mid-Wilshire! It felt like a quick stop-by type of spot, and there was only one employee working that Sunday at noon. The store wasn't busy, just one other customer came in after me, so I had plenty of time to look through the menu. They do have a seating area if you want to eat there. The place isn't very trendy, but the donuts are amazing, totally different from your typical donut shop. They're super soft and chewy. In my opinion, the Fluffy Twist is the best!
google avatar

Cat C.

Yelp
You can tell the owner cares about his customers at the original K town location so I was excited when they opened a new branch near Miracle Mile on La Brea. My favorite is the strawberry milk cream. But I decided to try their blueberry, crème brûlée, & cookies n cream. They were decent and well-made. quality dough and cream filled nommy goodness. Christian was a very informative employee. Basic store front, but that doesn't matter because of their great tasting donuts. It's not a sit down place and be aware of small parking.
google avatar

Yelp
I have the pleasure of living around the corner, the fresh cream donuts are DELICIOUS... my favorite is the coffee(?) crème brûlée ... Super nice staff

Carole S.

Yelp
Got donuts for my neighbor who was recuperating from surgery, and a couple to sample for me. I got strawberry and creme brûlée- they were devine!! The assortment I got for my neighbor was much appreciated by her and her family. The new location is very nice and bright, the woman working there was very friendly and helpful. The donuts were beautifully boxed. Will be returning soon to sample more cream donuts!
google avatar

Todd G.

Yelp
Spectacular donut. I ate the crème brûlée and it's everything others are saying: perfect crunchy topping over a delectable chewy body. The filling was a smooth, creamy and sweet. They are not inexpensive but for a quick indulgence or special event, these are very satisfying!
google avatar

Maureen S.

Yelp
I was anticipating the opening of this spot and it did not disappoint! I don't care for donuts at all, but I went twice today. This place does it perfectly. Not overly sweet and nice texture, especially the brulee ones! You MUST get the chicken sandwich! Don't even think twice, it's insanely good. The bread is a sweet one, reminds me of dutch bread in sweetness. The egg one is also super good, and STUFFED!! So glad I live around the corner, will definitely make this a regular treat!

Jenny F.

Yelp
PERFECT, better than Knotted! The most delicious fresh cream donuts, in phenomenal flavors. Highly recommend the crème brûlée, the matcha crème brûlée, the misugaru, strawberry cream, pistachio, and black sesame. Easy parking, beautiful presentation. Everyone who I shared these with LOVED them.
google avatar

Kathleen T.

Yelp
Donuts are so good.. not to heavy or sweet! Service was great and employees walked us through the menu. The store was very clean and well organized. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! They serve coffee and sandwiches too!
google avatar

Leslie T.

Yelp
Kind and friendly cashier patiently explained all donuts and fillings. Some like the new nutella creme looked totally over the top. I bought a bacon glazed, matcha brulee, mitsugaru, black sesame. bacon glazed was crazy sweet and fatty, not quite as salty or erm bacony as I was expecting. the rest of the flavors were heavenly! not too sweet, light creamy with a chewy donut
google avatar

Kaitlyn K.

Yelp
I think their donuts are quite yummy. They have a lot of cream and are nice and sweet. The dough is nice and soft. I like the ones with the hard chocolate shell on the top because it adds a nice texture.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
I've tried twice now and hope they improve. The selection both times has been sparse and just the last time the donuts tasted heavy like old fry oil. The blueberry cream and Boston cream filled were so heavy and had such a strong aftertaste we didn't finish them. The first time didn't have the heavy aftertaste but they just weren't fresh. Both times I went in the afternoon, so maybe not prime time donut time. I'm compelled to note the lack of freshness because of the premium price they charge.
google avatar

Aaron F.

Yelp
I know Yelp is where we go to complain about places, but this is strictly positive- I was compelled, of my own volition, to post a glowing review. Look, a $5 donut is not for everyone. But maybe you're like us, and just buy one once in a blue moon to split as a treat, and you just want something exquisite. Well, for us, this was it. We had the crème brûlée donut, and it was by all accounts a donut, and yet like none we'd ever tried before. Textures of the hard candy shell, the dense custard, and excellent crumb; and the flavors- perfectly carmelized sugar, rich vanilla crème, and not overly sweet- even the slightly chilled temp- all SO on point. This will be a new craving, I'm sure. Sorry no pics, we stared as skeptics, but left big fans. Try it!

Yelp
The La Brea location had one (1) person working on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and he was completely stoned. It took him 20 minutes to serve two small groups pre-baked donuts, and he forgot my coffee. The iced coffee was burned and stale and certainly not worth it. The donuts were fantastic.
google avatar

Rafael B.

Yelp
Located inside an unassuming Korean shopping store. It's a small but cute store with a decent amount of seating. Now for the donuts! The flavor stands out among the other donut shops as they aren't unnecessarily sweet but have depth to their flavor. While have a fondness for the strawberry milk cream donut and my wife loves the coffee brûlée, I would use the PB&J as an example as the peanut butter icing in combination with the peanuts provide great texture and smoothness while the dough and small pockets of strawberry filling go further with texture and tartness. The service is ok but observed a few lulls or moments of confusion behind the counter. Our order along with others took around 5-8 minutes to go from the display to our hands even with 3 people behind the counter. Efficiency aside I'd still come back because the donuts are a delight but if you decide to visit don't expect the typical in and out speed you would from a normal pink box location.
google avatar

James N.

Yelp
This donut is amazing and don't sleep on the garlic donut egg sandwiches. A much welcome addition to the neighborhood. My favorite is the black sesame cream mochi donut.
google avatar

Nancy W.

Yelp
The young man working in the donut shop was so polite .....he explained every flavor until we made our decision on which flavor . Very patient and cheerful.. try them out another fella walking out the store was telling us how good it was also. Give them a try!!!!
google avatar

Cher P.

Yelp
I feel so lucky that they opened in this location. It's within walking distance to my house. I love the egg sandwich- it's my absolute favorite. I also love the creme brulee and coffee crème brûlée.
google avatar

Martina C.

Yelp
Outstanding donuts. Not too sweet - just perfect balance of light and fluffy cream. Will definitely be coming back... most likely on a weekly basis. They're that good!
google avatar

Kris V.

Yelp
The matcha brûlée and cookies n' cream donuts were brain numbingly good. Definitely coming back to try the other flavors

Yelp
Came to this location after going to the OG location first. Stopped by the OG at 4:30pm and the sign said they were sold out and closed. Okay, you close at 5pm. That's reasonable. Found out about this new location from the same signage which also said new location was open until 7pm. Dropped friend off, and drove over to this new spot on a Friday evening during traffic. Got there around 5:30pm. The parking lot here is terrible btw, AND THEY WERE CLOSED WTFFF. The donuts are good. I've had them. The cream donuts are a pass, and the crème brûlée is good when fresh, but I was fiending for the misugaru with mochi and red bean inside, and I don't even like red bean. I wanted to pick some up for relatives visiting for the holidays to try. Will I be back? I dunno. Maybe when I get over being denied twice in a day. Call before you go just to be sure...fyi they're hiring a cashier for anyone who wants a job.

Efstathios K.

Yelp
Amazing donuts Great people The donuts don't feel full of fake sugar and canola oil.

Yelp
Super cute and yummy spot . Not a donut girl but these are amazing. The folks working there were very sweet.
