We were visiting Austin today and decided to try this place for a healthy lunch. Everyone loved everything that they ate! It was all very flavorful without being salty or greasy. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a healthy but tasty meal. Also worth noting they do serve meat, I thought they were vegan… but was pleasantly surprised by they other proteins being offered. We got the Mediterranean kabobs, ginger miso salad, some kind of Chinese type noodle bowl, and a kids meal with chicken , corn quinoa, mashed potatoes… all delicious!

10 stars 🌟 Flower Child did an 🌟excellent🌟 job with a catering pick up for our office lunch today! They reliably offer fresh, delicious, healthy food that is ready on time & reasonably priced. Highly recommend 🌟

If you’re looking for a fresh, feel-good meal in downtown Austin, Flower Child on Second Street is the perfect spot. The vibe is bright, airy, and laid-back—totally Austin. Whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, or just trying to eat clean, the menu has something for everyone. I had the Mother Earth bowl, and it was packed with roasted sweet potatoes, portobello mushrooms, avocado, and the perfect crunch from broccoli and grains. The avocado hummus is a must-try—super creamy and served with warm pita and fresh veggies. Even the drinks are on point; I went with their house lemonade and loved the fresh citrusy kick.

Google
Is it just me, or does the food at this restaurant seem overly salty? The dishes are well-prepared, but the seasoning feels a bit off. That said, I have to give credit where it’s due!! The chocolate chip cookie and the double chocolate brownie are absolutely delicious!

Google
Loved this place. Caught it before we headed out of Austin back to our home in the Hill Country. Back in town in a week and plan a second visit. Great friendly and helpful staff, wonderful layout, and just a fun sunny place. I did note to my wife that while it was bustling with diners, the client tell mix, on our visit was about 90% ladies and 10% gents. And also, folks take their time to eat. We arrived, ate and departed, while a majority of the tables and guest remained in place and were chatting. Just be advised of this and plan accordingly.

Google
I recently checked out this healthy-oriented spot and had an amazing experience! The salmon was absolutely fantastic—cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. And don't even get me started on the Parmesan broccoli; it was to die for! The flavors were incredible, and it felt like a real treat while still being healthy. The service was awesome too. The staff was super friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. If you're looking for a place that serves delicious, healthy food with great service, this is the place to go!

Google
Good affordable food, by downtown standards. Better to walk to the place as there is no real parking around. Have a great assortment of veggie options too.

Google
I am an outside Austin guy, not given to trendy or hip kind of places. Nevertheless, we were in the area meeting some friend and the wife wanted to try it out. The place is immaculately clean- I didn’t see anyone else mention this but even the obligatory high shelf of knickknacks was taken care of and free from dust. It’s a minor thing, but it speaks to the attention to detail that sets this place apart. Plenty of vegan and gluten-free options that look great. I’m a steak and potatoes guy, though, so I got the Rebel Wrap. It was tasty and delicious without being overly pretentious. The staff were cheerful and friendly and the prices were very reasonable (especially for that part of Austin.) I’m still not a fan of downtown, but if I need to be there I’ll definitely be happy to stop in again.

Yelp
Flower child makes it easy to give them a 5 out of 5. They opened about 1 year after I had moved to Austin from upstate NY. For those like me, this will come as a pleasant surprise - their menu really does not change! The best bowl, in my opinion, is the Mother Earth and adding the Salmon. How the restaurant is setup, it reminds you of a Parisian cafe with a large exterior seating area and a wide open area inside with 2" thick marble tabletops! They offer to-go orders during the weeknights, this is a great go-to as they offer family meals through their smart phone app. You will be greeted and help with really polite staff who will be asking if need anything along your stay with them! Really recommend! You'll be in for a treat - I'm merely visiting from New York and it is my must see restaurant when I come.

Yelp
I didn't know what to expect from Flower Child, but I wanted to try a place I hadn't been before. Flower Child was a very pleasant surprise! It wasn't too crowded inside, and the corner booth seating was very comfortable. The person that took our order was friendly, and the server that brought our food was the same. The turkey cobb was really satisfying! It was a heaping bowl w/ plenty of ingredients. It has a really nice, tangy vinaigrette dressing that danced on tongue and left me wanted more. The crispy lettuce w/ creamy avocado, crunchy cucumber & pickled red onion provided a flavorful base for the sliced turkey. If I did have one criticism it would be that I would have liked a bit more turkey. My girlfriend ordered the Glow Bowl, which wasn't as good as the Cobb, but still satisfied as a healthy lunch option. It was more hearty/earthy than the salad, but didn't quite have the pop of the vinaigrette (not bad, just not what I was looking for at the time). We mixed all the ingredients together before eating it, but next time would probably keep them separate so we could construct unique bites each time.

Yelp
I tried the steak with two sides: roasted broccoli and baked sweet potato fries. The steak was very good, but unfortunately the broccoli was heavily salted and almost inedible. The sweet potatoes were also too salty. We also had the Caesar Salad with chicken and it was excellent. For dessert, I had the pumpkin muffin and it was very good. Take the salt away from the cook and I'm sure you'll earn five stars next time.

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch with a colleague and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the Flying Avocado wrap. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and polite. This location has plenty of seating and situated within walking distance in downtown Austin. I can see why this is a favorite lunch spot for many. Overall solid experience, and I'll come back again.

Yelp
I used to work at Flower Child, but different location. I've always thought if someone who works there or worked there and still goes after that just shows how good it is! I got the chicken plate with a side of Mac n cheese and quinoa with sweet corn and it was so warm and delicious! Truly one of my favorite things to eat. The space was nice and clean and for a Friday night in downtown Austin, it wasn't busy. Truly enjoyed it.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
The ordering process was quick and easy. I'm a vegetarian so I saw tons of options and it presented well. Take a chance and dine in one of their many locations:-(
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so cute and their food is delicious. I've eaten here several times and have loved everything I've ordered. I'm warmer weather most of the locations have a great patio. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Solid spot for wraps, bowls, and salads with lots of Asian fusion options . Really liked my ginger miso crunch salad. It's order up front and they bring you your food out. Very nice garden style ambiance. Solid spot for light but tasty food!
google avatar

Eddie K.

Yelp
Great service, food is decent and the location is very convenient! Mac and cheese with steak is my regular order. Just wish that the portion is bigger.
google avatar

Morgann G.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Quick service. We came around 2pm so there was plenty of seating both inside and outside. The bathrooms were fairly clean. My party had the flying avocado and Mother Earth. Sooo good. The flavors are so refreshing and filling. Highly recommend for anyone whether vegan, vegetarian, or meat lovers.
google avatar

Yelp
You order from the counter and food is brought to your table. Can't get any more simple than that! Food here is delicious/flavorful and healthy! A little on the pricier side but atleast it's good quality tasting food. We came with a group of about 16 people around 1pm on a Sunday for lunch after a dance competition at the Palmer Event Center. Thankfully it wasn't busy at all and was able to accommodate us right away. It was also only about a 10min drive but a tad difficult to find parking. We ended parking on the street about 3 blocks away. Easy walk and free street parking on Sundays!

Yelp
I am a Flower Child Fan! I went for lunch on a Saturday around 1:30pm and surprisingly, it wasn't busy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba Noodles which were delicious! I think the price is slightly steep for a few menu items and portions, but their food is certainly tasty! I appreciate restaurants with healthier options and I love the variety of the menu. I will definitely be back for lunch!

Yelp
Food was really amazing! Had an unforgettable turkey salami salad, kale salad and mac and cheese. This place never disappoints!
google avatar

Carolyn A.

Yelp
Glow Bowl has me literally glowing! Spicy veggie mix that is tasty and fresh. The past few years, I have adopted a mostly vegetarian diet. This is a tasty resource, and I am so glad I came in today, my first visit.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Came to dinner with friends. Little bit of a hiccup on our order, however, I just am really writing this review because Angela came to the rescue. So diplomatic, kind, thoughtful, and just flat out awesome. Really the entire staff is awesome here she just happened to really shine look forward to our next meal here
google avatar

Munsa M.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from here for work and we loved it!! I got a bowl with shrimp, roasted broccoli, and the smashed potatoes and I loved the shrimp and especially the smashed potatoes!! They were so buttery and garlicky!!! The broccoli was ok, some were a kinda sour tasting so that was a little off putting but overall it was good!
google avatar

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Came for a lunch business meeting, which was a wonderful location in downtown Austin. Parking was a little bit difficult, but there are several parking structures around the area ($20). The location was really modern, industrial and chic . Plenty of places to sit and it's a cafeteria style order than sit down with a number type of restaurant. The portion sizes are very reasonable and foods are very whole, healthy, and delicious! I would certainly recommend this to people coming around the area!

Sam C.

Yelp
Yes. Yes. Yes. Mediterranean Chicken Kabob Bowl won't only make your taste buds wet, but also... your eyes when you realize you've zoned out and finished the entire bowl, scraping for the last few pieces of quinoa.
google avatar

Yelp
My fiancé & I have been here many times and enjoy it. For starters, there is usually isn't a long wait or line, as you just walk right up to the counter and order. Their staff is always very friendly too, and the bring the food out pretty quickly. As for the food, we have had the avocado hummus every time & love it. It's good with the pita bread. Definitely recommend that with the veggies. The salmon entree is alright. The gluten free Mac & cheese is solid, and I usually don't eat gluten free (my fiancé does) but I tried some of hers and liked it. The organic brown rice pretty much tasted like rice, the mashed potatoes are delicious and the steak is delicious too. The lemon olive oil cake is also great. I'm personally not a fan of their sweet potatoes or one of their bowls, but others might enjoy them and they have a menu with several choices. Overall, definitely a solid spot. Prices are reasonable too.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
I tend to find my favorites and return specifically for one thing, a creature of habit, after all. The Brussels & Kale salad has had me hooked even prior to my Whole 30 days (without cheese, should be cleanse-friendly) - snappy greens studded with sweet red grapes, crunchy apple, a touch of tart grapefruit, smoked almonds, and white cheddar. It's a textural party in my mouth that hits all the high notes - sweet, tangy, smoky, zippy, savory YUM with ZERO guilt. I have mine topped with perfectly cooked salmon seasoned with Cajun spices, adding another layer of complexity that blends so well with the sweet-tart apple cider vinaigrette. Clean eating never felt so good!
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Peruvian chicken was a disappointment but the other plates my friends were having looked good. I ended up going the following day and the food was better, but wasn't amazing. Good, just not great. With a few small tweaks it could be great.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
So good we almost went back twice in one weekend trip. Fresh, veggie focused and filling, I just love a place that you can feel good about finishing your plate (or bowl)!
google avatar

Zhao C.

Yelp
I ordered the Glow Bowl and enjoyed the overall flavors but was a bit disappointed with the sweet potato noodle because it wasn't the type of noodle I was expecting. I was hoping that it would have a bit more chewiness and width but it honestly felt like eating shredded carrots, which I wasn't enjoying. That being said, I've tried some of their other dishes, like their wraps and various sides, and did enjoy those better.
google avatar

Jill B.

Yelp
I was starving but staying downtown and really didn't want to go out. I really wanted something fresh, reasonably healthy. Flower Child did not disappoint. I got the steak salad. It came deconstructed which was nice because I chose fruit and the cucumber salad as my salad options. The steak was absolutely perfect, well seasoned, and tender. The fruit was fresh. The cucumber salad has a little kick. I ate every single bite of everything. I also had a berry lemonade. Portions were perfect with no waste. I easily finished everything. This downtown stay wasn't an easy "store and eat the next day situation". This was just MY situation. It could have been lunch the following day too but I was in a "Too many appointments, then get to work" time frame so I didn't want to cart food around and leave it in my car for undetermined periods of time. I wish I known I needed to request eating utensils (I used a Delivery platform). After unpacking my meal, I had no silverware to eat this dinner. I grabbed a coffee stirrer and ate with my fingers. Somewhat barbaric I know. Thank goodness it wasn't soup or spaghetti! Loved the food. I need to start carrying my own travel utensils I guess because this was the 2nd time I used this delivery platform and didn't get silverware. So request eating utensils if not at home. Or include them when delivering to hotels. Just a suggestion

Yelp
food was yummy.. pricey for portion sizes though. could use more protein in the bowls as well
google avatar

Chuck D.

Yelp
Walking in, the vaulted ceilings were beautiful. The set up was a bit like a cafeteria, walk up to a counter. At the counter, the staff was very welcoming and answered the couple of questions we had. As we were grabbing a quick late lunch with dinner plans later, we decided to split the turkey avocado salad. We got our drinks and food was out quickly. Staff was again super helpful, offering and then getting us an extra plate. Salad was fresh and crisp, the combination of veggies was great. Would we come back? Yes, great spot for a fresh healthy lunch.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
always always get the forbidden rice bowl with salmon (& cauliflower risotto) always fresh & delicious! i've brought many friends & family here. definitely in my top ten restaurants in austin!

Gina G.

Yelp
The food is excellent ! 1st time here. Visiting from out of town. Everything is fresh. Great selection
google avatar

Fiona W.

Yelp
Love this spot! Its great for a balanced meal thats super unhealthy. The food is so yummy and flavorful. The chicken yakisoba noodles were great. They came with so many toppings of veggies and chicken. We also got the steak entree with 2 sides. The steak was cooked well and had lots of flavor. We chose the mac n cheese and the kale salad. The mac n cheese is actually so good! Great with some cholula. The kale salad was not my favorite. It was heavily dressed and too acidic in my opinion. The cheese on top was too much. It made it too salty. The flavor profiles just did not mesh and were too antagonizing. I usually love any kale salad but I could not finish this one but everything else was great!
google avatar

Allie R.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible and healthy dishes. However it definitely is on the more expensive side. The items come out fairly quickly and are all so fresh and tasty!

Dasha A.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. Allergy friendly, consistent and soooo soo good! Come here!!!! The service is great, food delicious, ambiance like a casual quick spot.
google avatar

Ellen D.

Yelp
Great healthy meal options! This restaurant was packed, which told me I needed to go in there and grab some lunch. The interior gives a vibe of an indoor- outdoor space. High ceilings, tables set apart, plenty of room to navigate away from the appointed food delivery service counter(which is great, by the way.) I ordered the Chopped ($9.95 fresh) Veggie salad. The ingredient mix was delicious, and I swapped out the Miso vinaigrette for a Gorgonzola vinaigrette. The restaurant has an open kitchen set away from the tables but if you like you can watch your food being prepared. I chose food to go, but I certainly wouldn't mind returning again and taking another dish off their menu, so good! There are a lot of restaurants and cafes in downtown Austin serving healthy fare, and this is one of the many great options if you're in the downtown area.
google avatar

Lucie N.

Yelp
ORDER Steak with Mac & Cheese and Roasted Broccoli Overall the food on the menu definitely gave off a healthy vibe. I really liked the mac & cheese. It wasn't salty or soggy which was great. It also came in a decent-sized portion. The Roasted Broccoli was seasoned with lemon, garlic, and parmesan bread crumbs. Overall, it was a good mix with the lemon flavor though I do think the roasted broccoli side might have been on the saltier side. As far as the steak, it was mid - a little on the drier side. VIBES There were a lot of people that went in and out during the time we were there (Monday around 6:00 PM). The place is spacious with a decent amount of seating. It's definitely louder but seems like a good place to catch up with friends and chill. Good decorations and aesthetic too - definitely fits the name of the restaurant!

Yelp
I decided to mix it up during my Austin vegan food tour. I bumped into Flower Child. I decided to get some dinner here. I went with the Mother Earth bowl that comes with ancient grains, sweet potatoes, portobello mushrooms, avocado, cucumbers, broccoli pesto, charred onions, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette, and hemp seeds. I added tofu as my protein option. The bowl was tasty, healthy, and nourishing. I wish there were more vegan options on the menu since I am a long time vegan yet Mother Earth bowl is a lovely vegan option for vegans and those that love plant based cuisine who are in Austin looking to mix it up a bit. I have had the most amazing vegan Tex Mex innovative tacos here yet the Mother Earth bowl at a Flower Child was a nice paradigm shift.
google avatar

Erin G.

Yelp
Good was super tasty. A little pricey for portions and could be more seating, but I'll be back. Recommend Mother Earth
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
Dropped for a healthy meal on a co-worker's recommendation. One of the best meals I've had in recent memory, especially at a ~$20 price point. Salmon entree with quinoa and sweet potato sides. Lots of subtle flavors. Friendly, efficient service with a fun setting. Will plan to return the next time I'm in Austin.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Yikes. If you want a healthy bowl or salad, there are other options you can choose from, like Cava or Sweetgreens. Don't come here. I gave this place a couple chances. The first time I got the Ginger Miso Crunch salad. Not bad, but nothing amazing either. The second time I tried the Glow Bowl. When I read "sweet potato" noodle, I was expecting that starchy potato noodle that some Korean restaurants serve. Nope, this was apparently just strips of raw sweet potato. Not the most appetizing. But here's the real kicker. This Glow Bowl gave me food poisoning and I had to go to the ER. I am 100% certain on this because everything else I ate that day was shared with my boyfriend, and he was fine. This was the only meal I ate on my own. So now I also question their food safety and health practices. Again, just don't come here. There are other health-centric options that taste better and won't get you sick.
google avatar

Alice V.

Yelp
Nice and friendly staff. Kind of cafeteria style because the food is already made. Food is delicious. Some of the few that I LOVE is their salmon, chicken, risotto, broccoli and gold potatoes.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Bianca at the cash register was so sweet and helped me figure out how to get rewards for my purchase since their scanner wasn't working. I got my food within 5-8 min of ordering so super fast! Got my favorite ginger miso crunch salad and broccoli, this location was very generous with the portion of chicken, the largest I've gotten of any flowerchild location. Ingredients were incredibly fresh and the atmosphere was so relaxing easy to get work done and very clean. I'll be back!'
google avatar

Maddie F.

Yelp
Lots of great healthy lunch options, I ordered the salmon with the mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese. The salmon was just okay, nothing special but the Mac and cheese was very good and gluten free. I tried my friends roasted broccoli and that was very good. Also ordered the rose lemonade and it was so fresh. Vibe was cute and casual, indoor and outdoor seating, got pretty busy on the weekend. Patio is dog friendly:) Service was friendly and food came out fairly quick, would eat here again!
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for Flower Child. I really enjoy the variety of options that they provide, particularly with the Pick 3 Plate option. The Simple Sautéed Broccoli is cooked to perfection with a nice crunch to it. The Red Chile Glazed Sweet Potato is another one of my go-to's. The chile glaze pairs nicely with the sweetness of the potato. Last but not least, I always opt for the Gluten-Free Mac and Cheese. I'm a die-hard mac and cheese fan through and through, and you won't be disappointed with the flavor of the dish despite it being gluten-free. It is a bit on the pricier side though. I wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger as I feel like it's not too filling unless you add a protein to your plate.
google avatar

Sofija M.

Yelp
The food is extra delicious at this location. This is my go to spot when traveling for work. I got the avocado salad with salmon. The lemon muffins were off the hook. Food came out within 10 minutes! It's very clean and modern. Parking can be tricky.

J W.

Yelp
Food is good and online ordering was a breeze. The only thing I can think of is traffic to get here is horrible but not their fault

April H.

Yelp
First time in as I am from out of town and had amazing avocado toast! So good! Would love to come back
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
Love how it's fast casual / counter service, but the nice plates and restaurant design makes it feel like a casual brasserie. Everything on the menu seems healthy, especially compared to typical Texas food. And the bowls, with tofu as your protein choice, were a really good value. Crushed Avocado Toast: Felt a little overpriced for what it was. Especially compared to the price of the bowls (with tofu). The avocado was ripe and creamy and delicious. The soft egg felt a bit too gelatinous in the yolk, when it would have been better to be a little runny. The white cheddar shreds were a very nice touch to live up the avocado toast game. But the bread was a bit disappointing, kinda thin and felt like something out of a multi-grain pre-sliced loaf from the grocery store. Mother Earth Bowl w/ Tofu: Ordered this because of all the interesting ingredients. Tender sweet potatoes, that were very sweet. Umami rich portobello mushrooms. A half avocado. A vibrant pesto on the side. It really was wonderful and healthful having all those things together. The grilled tofu was totally worth the add-on too. Though I think the bland sauce could be improved a bit, since it was the only weak link. Forbidden Rice Bowl w/ Tofu: Ok, the red chili hoisin sauce used here is simply amazing. Makes the whole bowl taste wonderful. The ingredients weren't nearly as impressive as the Mother Earth bowl. I mean I'd trade snap peas for sweet potatoes anyway. But that marinade was magical and totally made up for it.

Yelp
Food was fresh, light and well done. Looking to eat healthy or healthier choices? I would recommend. We had the Turkey avocado wrap, came with a small salad. Pretty tasty. Wife had Mediterranean chicken kabob bowl. It was very delicious. This isn't the kind of place to go if you're looking to get stuffed but it's nice if you're wanting healthy.
google avatar

Danyel G.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Healthy and so satisfying. The service was quick and we were met with the loveliest staff. Inside is bright and airy, while the outside accommodates all the sunshine and people watching.

Tony P.

Yelp
Great fresh food. If you're looking for a healthy option in Austin , this is the place to go. Service was quick and friendly as well! Ambiance ins a little like any other regular order and sit down place but definitely clean.
google avatar

Ashlee P.

Yelp
This is the perfect place for a quick, vegetarian lunch. I got the Forbidden Rice and the mix of sweet and savory was delicious. My mom got a salad and cleaned her plate. They have tea, juice, and kombucha drink options. If you're roaming around the Domain and want a healthy bite, this is a good spot.
