"Flower Child, a colorful, hippie-ish chain owned by the same company as North Italia, opens today in The Woodlands. It offers avocado chia seed wraps, veggie-packed bowls, and kale salads. The Woodlands location features pet-friendly outdoor seating, a separate to-go line, and eclectic decor with peace signs and bright murals. The opening celebration includes a giveaway of $25 gift cards to the first 100 guests and donations to Texas Children’s Hospital." - Adele Chapin

Flower Child has the best food. Being a vegetarian, many times it is hard to find anything to eat but here there are so many different choices and all are super yummy. They also offer a choice of protein so meat eaters will also enjoy the food here. They have an outdoor seating área that is open for you to bring your pets and they even provide water bowls. I highly suggest you try Flower Child.

I recently dined at Flower Child, and it was an outstanding experience! The organic food was absolutely delicious, with fresh and vibrant flavors in every dish. The restaurant's open concept, along with its bright and airy design, created a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor seating options were available, making it a perfect spot for any occasion. Highly recommend!

I recently visited Flower Child and had a mixed experience. I ordered the steak, which unfortunately was cooked more well-done than the medium I requested. That was a bit disappointing, as it affected the overall enjoyment of the dish. However, the sides definitely made up for it. The smashed golden potatoes were outstanding—rich, creamy, and perfectly buttery. They had a comforting, homemade feel that stood out. The macaroni was also excellent, packed with flavor in every bite and cooked just right. To end the meal, the chocolate pudding was a real treat. Smooth, decadent, and not overly sweet—it was definitely a highlight. Overall, while the steak missed the mark, the sides and dessert made the experience enjoyable. I’d return, but would likely try a different main next time.

Hip, cool, trendy, and upbeat describe the vibe; fresh, beautiful, healthy (but salty), and (ultimately) forgettable describe the food. The menu includes loads of options for Vegetarians, Vegans, and Gluten-Free eaters, along with beer, wine, teas, and some quality meats. The salads look better than they taste, and ask for less dressing unless you like your salads drenched. The wraps are pretty good, and the menu breaks down the calories, which seems like a must if you're going to a "healthy" eatery. The best part of the restaurant is that it usually stays quite busy, has lovely indoor and outdoor seating, a cool palette with a relaxing vibe, comfortable seating, and an overall inviting atmosphere. The staff is always happy and friendly; every location I've been to has been clean, including the bathrooms. It's for good value, a nice glass of red wine, and a relaxing vibe when I go.

If you are expecting or used to having a large sum of food, this is NOT the place for you. Each meal is small portioned and might fulfill your hunger, but this is a great way to control daily calorie serving per day. The food was made fresh, and you can actually see them cook some of the meals. It's made to order, so no worries about thinking food is left out under a heating lamp. My steak was cooked perfectly to medium, and the Mac & Cheese was heavenly 😋, You gotta try it. I loved the Thai mint watermelon; it was very refreshing and light. Overall, my meal was tasty and fresh. The bathroom is also clean with that old-school wallpaper vibe to it.

Love this place! Restaurant is clean, open and the server is very nice. It’s pretty healthy as well. Order your food at the counter and they will bring it to you. You can choose different protein for the salad or healthy bowl. - Mother Earth bowel with steak or shrimp(salmon is okay here): my favorite dish and only dish I actually love, always come back for this bowl - steak and macaroni and cheese kid meal: my son LOVE IT here. - yakisoba noddle: it’s okay only for my taste. The veggies are still hard and it’s a little spicy. - chop vegetables salad: too much goner dressing so make it a little spicy as well - not a fan of this one. My husband tried other bowl and said Mother Earth bowl is the best!!!

Google
Good food although I’d have to express during lunch there’s hardly anywhere to eat plus you feel like you need to hurry up and order due to the atmosphere. I’d recommend knowing what you want first if you’re a first time goer. Place is very clean and love the healthy selections.

Google
Reloaded casual atmosphere. They offer salads, bowls, entrees, kids meals and desserts. Vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. You can make modifications to any meal items. They offer salsa and other condiments if needed. Food was good. Definitely recommend the chocolate pudding with coconut and almonds!

Yelp
Having a poor experience at the Uptown location, I was a bit hesitant supporting Flower Child. It's not about the food, the food is always great (they even have green chile queso now), but moreso how the cashiers enforce boundaries, and behavior of the patrons and leadership. This trip was a refreshing change. At around 1pm on a Monday, the restaurant was near full, but there were no lines (likely because the lunch rush was seated and finishing). Everything arrived with a smile, and although the chips are simple yellow corn, the queso is nice (which I was not expecting). The hummus is always hummus (love that they offer the choice of veggies, pita, or both), and the miso vinaigrette salad is incredibly flavorful. I love spots that reduce the friction in clean eating, I'll definitely consider revisiting.

Yelp
Had an awesome dinner at Flower Child tonight. This place is a great option for a healthy meal with tons of protein and veggie options (perfect for vegetarians). I had tried the pick a protein plus two sides combination the first time I visited and didn't like it as much as the Mother Earth bowl I got tonight. While the two sides were delicious, I just found the protein to sides ratio was a bit off. Adding protein (the salmon as pictured) to the Mother Earth bowl tied everything quite nicely and made the plate feel more diverse but also complete! Not to mention it was super delicious! I ordered an additional salad fearing I would still be hungry after a plate of mainly grains and vegetables but it turned out to be unnecessary, the bowl itself was a great size. The inside of the restaurant is very spacious with additional outdoor seating available. Having been during both lunch and dinner, I say I prefer the vibe at night because of the softer lighting and quieter atmosphere.

Kasey Z.

Yelp
Very spacious, clean, and pretty interior! The service here is really fast, my food arrived before I even had time to sit down. I ordered the Mother Earth bowl with no added protein, and everything in the bowl was really delicious! I will say that the portion size is a bit small for the price though, but it's a good spot for someone who is trying to cut back and eat healthier.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Food is some of the best vegetarian around. The service however always touch and go. I waited with another person while the server at the front just kept talking to her friend. I finally asked if I could place my order. Halfway through my order she went back to talking. I had to ask if I could finish ordering so I could sit down. My friend would later come in and try to place his order and same. Several customers were sitting outside and all were frustrated just like us. I grabbed the manager as he walked by. He apologized and offered a dessert. Thanks for the pumpkin muffin, but really need improvement here.

Karina N.

Yelp
We got it to go so I'm not sure about service and atmosphere but I absolutely loved the Mother Earth bowl! Everything was so fresh and tasty! There was a miso red pepper sauce on the sweet potatoes that was awesome! I got extra avocado as my protein. I didn't even miss the meat. The portobello was super tasty. The entire bowl is worth it! I hadn't tried this spot before and now I'd like to come back or visit another location!

Melissa P.

Yelp
We came here after church because they offer vegetarian options. They have a great variety of food options and we loved what we ordered. I ordered the flying avocado wrap and the black bean falafel wrap. The restaurant had a cool vibe and the staff were friendly! We will be back!

Matthew T.

Yelp
Got the salmon and some veggie sides, would definitely recommend! Clean and nice ambiance too.

Kaden N.

Yelp
I recently moved to The Woodlands, and Flower Child, being just a two minute drive from me was one of my first stops for dinner. The food here is amazing. The person who was taking my order on my first visit recommended I try the Rebel. It was an incredible steak wrap that is packed with flavor. And to make it even tastier I added tomatoes and dipped it in their house made ranch. Flower Child is now my regular spot. I've tried many other dishes and they have yet to disappoint. The prices are very reasonable, the food is healthy, and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. I highly recommend.

East Bay Mom L.

Yelp
My son and I came here for lunch to try something new and close by. I was happy to see the diverse menu with an Asian flare. My son ordered the chicken noodles bowl and I ordered the cauliflower risotto with added chicken. While both dishes were tasty, they were both overly seasoned, sauced. We are both asian so we're picky when it comes to asian food. My son commented that we should never order asian food at a non-asian restaurant because non-asian don't prepare the food right. He has a good point. Next time, I stick to basic American food like a salad. Unfortunately, this place won't make our regular rotation lunch places.

Lisa K.

Yelp
We saw this restaurant earlier last month when we went to The Woodlands for Kenny Chesney concert and I wanted to try it next time. So when we were there, once again over the weekend to see DMB, we were able to visit. One question, whyyyyyy do we not have places like this back home? It is a friendly vibe. I had the MOTHER EARTH bowl that is compiled of ancient grains, sweet potato, portobello mushroom, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, charred onion, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette and hemp seeds. It was delicious and filling. They offer nourishing dishes with fresh ingredients being paleo, vegan and vegetarian. Go however you are...just go.

Andrew M.

Yelp
Quick, healthy food...I can't really call it fast food, but it definitely does come out quickly! Options are all fantastic and has a variety of different options for all different types of eaters. Rotating menu means you can come here frequently and not get the same time which is a pleasant change of pace. Would come back again if in the area.

Annmarie N.

Yelp
Fresh menu with many healthy vegan / vegetarian options. Hummus -- while serving is small -- is delicious. Also ordered the tofu and cauliflower and the Mother Earth bowl for our entrees. Cauliflower was a 5 -- super flavorful and spicy. The Mother Earth was delicious -- just better for someone that likes more bland flavors. All in all -- attentive and friendly service. Recommend.

Chad W.

Yelp
My love for Flower Child originates from my years enjoying its location in the Domain, in Austin, from 2014-2019. Whether I'm dining inside or ordering it to go, it's never disappointed and I've enjoyed almost everything on the menu. Eat in, if you can-- the bright vibe of the place will lift your spirits. There's a reason this location is often so packed. So glad to see so many fellow Woodlands-dwellers enjoying healthy eating! I'm sure that like me, they enjoy the great people employed there. I'll never forget my first visit here around Memorial Day 2023. My two toddler sons, greatly in need of a nap, threw tantrums as we ate and a trio of young employees cheered them up with some free treats. As I mentioned, kind and generous people!

Alexis C.

Yelp
The ambience is so cute, it was my first time and the staff was very friendly with helping me pick my entree and gave me a lemonade for free. The sweet potatos were amazing

Canny F.

Yelp
I went to this chain in Arizona and I think I enjoyed my experience with them. I love the concept of these joints and hope they continue to grow. With that said, we stopped by after the gym to pick up some sides for $5.50 each. I guess it's a decent price? Maybe the portions looked smaller in the box? I was debating on ordering 3 sides for a better deal but eh I just wanted some calories for the short ride home before we made our protein dinner. Roasted sweet potato fries - very salty. A tad too much salt for my palate but I do understand that I am more sensitive to salt than the majority since I tend to cook bland. Texture was mixed. Some were crispy and some were soggy - did not have high expectations for texture since I ordered for pick up. The sauce that accompanied the fries were interesting and definitely different. Roasted Brussel sprouts - no char but good flavor and also a tad on the raw side. Not my fav. Likely will be gassy afterwards. Overall, this unfortunately did not hit the spot for me this go around but I still love the concept of this restaurant and absolutely support more of these. Full disclaimer that this is a pick up order and I did eat it right after I picked it up in the car ride back home.

Deborah R.

Yelp
First time visit, and it was hard to choose because the menu had so many interesting items. I went with the chicken entree with two sides - mine were cauliflower risotto (cauliflower rice, coconut, toasted bread crumb, lemon, parsley) and roasted brussels sprouts (thai basil, yuzu miso). Because it just looked so interesting I added a side of their sweet corn & Quinoa (greek yogurt), glad I did, it paired well with the cauliflower. Everything was tasty, cooked perfectly, seasoned well. I will returning to try one of their bowls next, or maybe a salad, or a wrap...Obviously I will be returning, update to follow.

Yelp
We love this place!!! The food is always so tasty and filling. The art in the walls is cute and daily fresh flowers on the tables is always a win in my book. The staff is always super nice and really care about what they do. Richard and Davy especially were absolutely killin' it. A great place to eat and chill!

Aisha R.

Yelp
If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing dining experience with delicious and healthy food options, then this would be the place. From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. Their menu is filled with nourishing options that are not only good for your body but also bursting with flavor. Whether you're a vegetarian, vegan, or just someone who appreciates fresh ingredients, this place has something for everyone. My favorite dish was the Forbidden Rice bowl which I added shrimp, and I must tell you this dish was great! I will definitely come back here.

Queen E.

Yelp
Food: healthy and delicious. They sell wine and beer. Environment: clean and modern. Staff: friendly Restrooms: clean. Gender neutral restrooms.

Lisa K ..

Yelp
My favorite salad place! Seems like they give less food for the same price! You can tell when you take it to go!! They have the best lemon bars!! Super moist.

Suzanne R.

Yelp
I love that they have a set menu with gluten free items available. The gluten free items available are so good and are always fresh! I order the protein bowl with salmon, sweet potatoes with bok choy and the corn & quinoa. The bowls are made fresh per order. They also have kombucha on tap. Service is great and the food is so delicious!

Anokhy D.

Yelp
We've been a few times and it's always a solid, quick dinner option with enough seating on weeknights. I brought the in-laws and they were fans too! This last time, I got the seasonal red sangria (the right amount of sweetness to spice) and the Mediterranean bowl (getting this again!). The service is typically fast when we've come, the food is delicious, and the space is clean and bright.

Jake N.

Yelp
Simple ingredients for someone that likes to eat healthy with great flavor! I always have a good experience here and never have an issue with waiting or quality of the dish.

Patti R.

Yelp
Great friendly service! We were a party of 4, everyone enjoyed their meals, very fresh and tasty!

Stacey W.

Yelp
I love this place. The Mother Earth Bowl and the Ginger Miso Crunch Salad are my favourite things here. The passion fruit iced tea is divine. Everything is fresh, and their menu has something on it for everyone. Gluten free especially. Best healthy lunch spot ever. And it just proves that healthy can be delicious. I don't love eating in here because it's so loud, but I'm usually getting it on my lunch break anyway. The employees are really nice, always have good service.

Marla W.

Yelp
Met a girlfriend here- we each had white sangria's which tasted like lemonade. We also shared the queso which was super yummy/ as well as the Mother Earth bowl with steak & the steak was excellent/ no fat! The sweet potato's had ginger on them & what a fabulous flavor! We finished it off with the gluten free lemon cake & it was super moist & yummy! I will return.

Tushay G.

Yelp
The food was delicious and well seasoned, we ordered The Forbidden Rice bowl, Mac & Cheese, roasted Brussels sprouts and Salmon. The staff were nice and helpful with menu suggestions. There is plenty of parking with both indoor and outdoor seating . A very relaxing atmosphere, I would certainly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

Lonnel C.

Yelp
Delicious food, tasty and flavorful with the bonus of being healthy. A little on the small side but maybe I just need to work on my portions :)

Brett N.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because I've been thinking about it since my last bite. --- --- --- When we lived in Tampa, there was a magical place called Fresh Kitchen. We've been on the hunt to find its Houston sister for nearly a year now, but have struck out every time we try. Flower Child is definitely its own thing, but it might be the closest thing to FK that we've found. I ate here about a week before writing this review and I'm still thinking about the flavor of the broccoli. It was baked in parmesan, which was a bit aggressive at first, but the more I ate it, the more I was hooked. The steak was perfectly cooked as well. And the mac-n-cheese was the ideal complement to those two items in my build-your-own-bowl. We ate these bowls to-go in the car while our son was passed out in his car seat. This is unfortunately our life now when we want to eat out a lot of the time. But the moment I started tasting this bowl, I forgot all about my sad situation of eating in my car. We will definitely be back. Often.

Gail R.

Yelp
My favorite place for a quick healthy bite to eat. They have something for everyone and the kombucha on tap is fire. Always great service and decorated so nicely I've taken inspo from it! Very quick and easy curbside pickup as well.

Julie C.

Yelp
I love this place. It never disappoints, is quick, the staff is super friendly and it has a laid back vibe inside. It's a great place for a healthy lunch and to take clients, friends or take your kids. Definitely a must try when you're in The Woodlands. You order at the counter and there is no waiter which is super nice as well.

Jan B.

Yelp
Great food, healthy amd delicious. Some thing for everyone. Fast and efficient. Ive tried several items and they are all good.

Marie B.

Yelp
This has become a go-to for a healthy, well-balanced meal whenever I'm on the go. It's the type of conscientious food you don't feel guilty eating and are happy to serve to your family. So, when I'm running busy and can't cook at home, I place a take-out order... I'm never disappointed! High quality ingredients, thoughtful recipes, and good flavor in every item... And, I've tried pretty much the whole menu hah! *Favorites are the Steak entree bowl (meat is tender and well marinated/seasoned) and the Mother Earth bowl (a vegan's delight that's still hearty enough to satisfy a carnivore)! Peace, love, and deliciousness.

Pree R.

Yelp
I was able to go out to eat for dinner with my sister and Dad on a not-too-busy warm, sunny Texas evening. The location in the Woodlands is beautiful---so cozy, and very Californian, haha! Since I was a first time customer, I wanted to use the $10 off $20 coupon...but I realized it was only for *online* orders. I don't understand why it can't be used for in-dining, but there is a work-around: you are able to order online and eat inside if you'd like. Weird, but ok! So my sister and I ordered online to use the coupon, and my Dad ordered separately. It was strange having to wait 20 minutes for our food while my Dad's order came out in seconds haha. The food is extremely delicious and flavorful. I recommend the entree option, where you can pick a protein and two sides. I got the tofu, mac n cheese, and caramelized sweet potatoes. Doesn't sound like much, but I was so full afterwards! Besides the puzzling coupon, this restaurant is a great addition to the Woodlands, mainly because of the scrumptious, vegan/vegetarian-friendly food!

Jessica G.

Yelp
Had the mushroom bolognese - I really enjoyed it! The almond ricotta was creamy and the squash noodles were hearty yet light. I only wished I had more tofu to enjoy. Over all the experience was great as always - service was top notch and the energetic vibe of the restaurant was great for a casual lunch chat. This is definitely my local go-to for a quick and healthy meal!

Greg L.

Yelp
It's been well over two years since I last visited this place. I've since then moved away from the woodlands and currently live further away. I knew this place had great veggie options + great proteins and everything tasted great. Let's just say this place doesn't underwhelm. I got my usual. The chicken + spiced sweet potato's and asparagus. I must say this place has once again inspired me to introduce different ingredients into the meals I make at home. My friend had the "Mother Earth and a soup. We were both extremely pleased.

Praneetha I.

Yelp
If you're craving tasty food that won't leave you bloated, this is a great healthy option for you! The restaurant is very casual - order at counter and they bring food out to you. The service is fast and the staff was very nice. We ordered the "Kinda Spicy" Green Chile Queso which was a bit on the salty side, but otherwise thick and tasty. Definitely not for the lactose intolerant. For the main courses, we ordered Chicken Yakisoba noodles and the Glow Bowl with tofu. The chicken in the noodles was cooked very well and was quite tender. The noodles themselves were good, but were also a bit salty. The Glow Bowl was the highlight - delicious curry filled with vegetables and perfectly grilled tofu (would get again)!

Ashley B.

Yelp
A go to when I am traveling, flower child is so fresh and healthy and every location is very consistent with food quality. Enjoyed the ginger miso crunch salad with chicken and Mother Earth bowl. Both were absolutely amazing, the miso dressing on the ginger miso crunch was so good and tangy but sweet. I love the grilled chicken here too, very fresh and they give really thick slices. Mother Earth bowl was so warming and delicious. The sweet potato was cooked to perfection and the flavors of all the vegetables in the bowl went nicely together. Would get both dishes again!

Jasmin G.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Flower Child for a while now, but unfortunately all the locations are a bit far from me. So when I was on this side of town and wanting something more healthy & hearty, I decided to stop by here and grab a late lunch. Being vegetarian (for lent) isn't the easiest because there's not a lot of great options for food, but what I got was delicious! I got the roasted tofu, roasted broccoli, & GF mac & cheese. Definitely recommend!

Tracy F.

Yelp
I have passed this place so many times over the years. Finally went with my sister in law and man I was surprised. It's order at the counter and find a seat. Staff was friendly and helpful. Started with the hummus and it was one of the best I've had. Chicken Yakisoba Noodles was delicious and my sister in law's Mediterranean Kabobs were tasty. Will be back to try more!

Jill S.

Yelp
I had the Turkey & Avocado Cobb. It was very good and filling! Our party of 5 sat outside on the patio area. Loved the outdoor seating! I would definitely return.

Jason Z.

Yelp
A child of the "healthy", hip, aesthetic that is recently very trendy. You pick proteins and sides and the premise is that you'll get a very healthy meal. Overall I found the meal to be overpriced and not as flavorful as expected. The steak was underseasoned and the portion was actually double here; so the standard portion is very small. The sweet potatoes were not as good as I remember. The sprouts were not good; it tasted like they pickled them in Celery salt or something. The interior has the Dish Society vibe so I can see the enjoyment there but overall it was underwhelming for me.

April Y.

Yelp
Excellent taste. Nice atmosphere. I enjoyed my mother earth with salmon.?salmon could have been a little bit larger for the cost.

Chan'tel M.

Yelp
I love a good farm-to-table restaurant, and I was excited to try this with new spot with my Godmother. We're both from Cali and it gave us allll the Cali vibes too! I docked a star because our food came out warm instead of hot. It's not like a lot of people were there, so I'm not sure what happened there. We were too hungry and didn't feel like sending it back though. They have a nice little selection of natural teas and lemonades. I always appreciate that because I don't drink soda and I steer clear of high fructose corn syrup. This gave me more options for the win. We both felt like the place was overpriced, but I do like the feeling of being full but not stuffed, which is the benefit of eating clean. What I ordered I could probably easily replicated at home for a fraction of the price. Still good eats tho and super cute decor! This is the way to do fast food.

Shauntelle J.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with a co-worker who raved about this place. Looked up the reviews on Yelp, however I still wasn't convinced. Walked in and immediately begin to feel "healthy." Once glancing over the menu l, I decided on the chicken, roasted broccoli and mashed potatoes. The food was fresh, and tasty. There was enough to take home for a second serving. I would definitely like to visit again.

Courtney E.

Yelp
Yikes. Placed an order for a turkey avocado Cobb and asked for no smoked almonds. But the order contained almonds, and unfortunately I can't eat it due to allergies. Update: Management gave a refund for order. Customers check for food for allergens even if specified!!

Marylin C.

Yelp
If I had to have the same place for lunch every single day, I'd have Flower Child very happily. The interior is really bright and inviting. You place your order first and then grab a table if you're dining in. The service is usually pretty fast and everyone is friendly. I almost always go for the Mother Earth bowl with chicken. There's a variety of flavors and components, from pickled cucumbers, to glazed sweet potatoes, to fresh arugula, and so much more. Everything complements each other really well and each component on its own is superb. In addition to the tastiness of the food, I also love that the food makes me feel satisfied yet light at the same time. Flower Child is a meal I could have over and over again. Please do yourself a favor and give Flower Child (and specifically the Mother Earth bowl) if you have the chance!

Jade M.

Yelp
Really yummy food options that are healthy and affordable. Got lunch here with a friend, I ordered the bird is the word wrap. It comes with a salad and I got this lemonade with white wine sangria drink, it was really good!I only paid like 11-12 dollars. I definitely would recommend.

Mele F.

Yelp
My first experience with Flower Child was in Austin Tx. Everything's great in Austin. So the bar was set pretty high when I decided to take my niece to the Woodlands location. Afraid of a long wait, we went right at opening on a Wednesday and the place was only about 25% full when we started. The location is in a strip center. The outside has colorful wall murals, beautiful planters, an outdoor menu board, outside seating with tables and umbrellas. With a hippy-vibe decor and healthy food options with tons of ingredients like seeds, fruits, greens and mushrooms, the restaurant fits the name. Food is ordered and paid for at the front counter and brought to your table when ready. The self-serve teas and lemonade mean drink up and try all of them. They are ALL good and a little pricey so might as well get your money's worth. I ordered the Turkey and avocado salad and my niece ordered the Mother Earth Bowl with a chocolate pudding dessert. All very tasty, full of flavor with lots of ingredients but the pudding was Ah-maz-ing!!!! With sliced almonds and coconut- Yum! Because of the open ceiling, the volume of the space makes it hard to hear conversation but why sit inside? The outside compliments the feels of Flower Child. Or they have a great order pickup. You can also order food on a large portion size so you can do family-style meals. No matter how you experience Flower Child, you are sure to find PEACE with your decision.
