Floyd’s Review - Dalston - London - The Infatuation

"Call us old fashioned, call us your mum or dad, call us callous, murdering beasts, but, when given the choice, there aren’t that many restaurants in London that we’ll head straight to the vegetarian and vegan options over more meaty and fishy ones. At Floyd’s though, this is very much the case. It’s an unassuming place that, somehow, manages to retain a neighbourhood vibe despite only being a five minute walk from Stoke Newington and Kingsland Road. This is the kind of restaurant you can imagine visiting daily if you lived or worked nearby. You’d walk in, say ‘alright Floyd’ (is he called Floyd? We don’t know), sit down and order a spicy quinoa cake, or something. Now we know this sounds a bit airy fairy and a bit affected, but Floyd’s is neither of these things. It’s unpretentious and welcoming and this is mirrored by the menu. It rotates daily, for lunch and dinner, and while some things are forgettable, other things are quite unforgettable. That spicy quinoa cake for example (it does actually exist) is a crispy, spiced, light pillow of a lunch, served up alongside a zingy slaw. That’s not to say the meat and fish options are a write-off, they do a decent chilli con carne, as well as a cod and salmon fish cake that sits in a wonderful sea of tartare sauce alongside a soft boiled egg. This isn’t complicated cooking because Floyd’s isn’t a complicated place. It’s easy and friendly and exactly what every neighbourhood needs." - Jake Missing

Google
Joann does a really good job at assuring that you get what you like in your haircut. Always leave satisfied with my cut and looking forward to returning for a refresher when needed again.

Philip D.

Google
The young lady that cut my sons hair was great. I forgot her name but she cut John's hair. She spent time talking with him getting involved with the cut. We will be back. One last thing the person at the register greeted us when we walked in and said thank you for coming.

Jolyn M.

Google
The service and comfort I received here was well, outstanding! Desiree made me feel so comfortable trying something new. Zac, the manager, also outstanding. This is now my place! Kind, caring, non- judgemental with a wide range of services applicable to everyone. Highly recommend.

Michael C.

Google
Ask for Nick A.! He did an unbelievable job. The haircut I usually get I find to be simple but lots of barbers mess it up. Nick did a great job listening to my preferences and even added a little detail that I found phenomenal. If you want someone who will listen and will do a great job, Nick is your guy.

Mike R.

Google
Nick A. Was awesome! Prior to him I had never booked the same stylist more than once and now I am on my fourth cut with him. He is kind, funny, genuine, and takes great pride in his work. I’d highly recommend both Nick and Floyds 99 of Lagrange.

John B.

Google
Floyd's is a great place. It's warm and inviting; the folks know what they're doing and provide great services -- and it's clear that they WANT customers to be happy (which IMHO is the secret sauce to any good business...the intent to be good). Thanks Elizabeth!

Kathryn Sipple (.

Google
Millie V. Is wonderful. Her long layer haircuts are by far the happiest I've ever been with my long hair. It lays so nicely and effortlessly, almost no styling needed. I usually just get random hairstylists at random shops. But after one haircut from her, I genuinely wanted to come back and keep coming back. The second trip was just as fabulous a result as the first and very consistent.

Alfonso G.

Google
My wife says I have trouble expressing myself—and she’s not wrong. When Micah G asked what I wanted, I gave him a terrible explanation of what went wrong with my last haircut and what I was hoping for this time. Despite my unclear directions, he somehow nailed it and gave me exactly the cut I had pictured in my head. I’ll definitely be going back, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Evan R.

Yelp
got a satisfying mid length cut from Aprile A who was friendly, respectful, and experienced!

Ed K.

Yelp
They poorly cut my two-year-olds hair (a few clips of scissors in total) and made a mess of both of us as I held him for the haircut. Aprilie A. (I was told she was a manager) was informed of the issues and my desire not to pay for a mess and a incomplete hair. The manager made some incomplete thoughts of resolutions and then accused me of theft for not wanting to pay for the mess. I suggested that the services were not actually delivered and we should make a police report out if she felt that strongly. The manager attempted to retract her statement, and I left -never to return again. This place is terrible.

Anna R.

Yelp
Worst haircut of my life. Chops were uneven and the stylist kept trying to give me curtain bangs when I said I didn't want them. I left without completing the heat tools because they didn't have heat protection in a hair salon... The stylist also kept trying to blow dry my hair when I said I wanted it straightened. The salon was not clean and I kept having to argue with the stylist in order to get what I asked for.

Chris M.

Yelp
Elizabeth H is probably the best barber I've ever been to. She did an outstanding job cutting my son's and my hair. I would definitely recommend her and you should ask for her by name.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Have gotten a service there twice, one 5 yrs ago kids 1st ever hair cut, went great, about and about 3 yrs ago ... was annoyed they charged for a girls haircut because my boy had longer hair, whatever it was fine. Walked in and was told they had 0 appointments "booked back to back, best I can do is call if there is a cancellation." I declined that offer and left, got to my car and on the website there was THREE appointments I could have booked the soonest being 30 mins from current tome. If they don't want my business, I have no problem not going back.

Mike R.

Yelp
Don't get your brows done here unless you have bangs to cover them after. Manager admitted to it being off center, then upon agreeing to it said, well if anyone has to look at you for more than 5 seconds from this close you should smack them. Just overall a disappointing experience that we paid before even receiving the service. Would tip differently instead of 20%.

Jackie N.

Yelp
We scheudled a 9:45am appt online. Arrived to a dark unattended building, but walked in for our 9:45 appt, and unknowingly set off the alarm. Whoever locked up the night before never locked the door. Once an employee arrived, we were told they didn't open til 10am, and we proceeded to then wait over 30 mins for an appointment. Upon checkout (by the same employee who arrived to open the store) we were insulted that our 10yo was not 10 but that we were only attempting to get the child's cut pricing. (No suggestion of an apology or discount after the alarm confusion or 40+ min wait, but instead an insult). This is the second time I've waited a long time for a scheduled appointment here. First time I chalked it up to a fluke, even though people were walking in and be taken ahead of us. After this fiasco, I can see that this is simply a very poorly managed barbershop. Too many other talented barbers around to deal with the mismanagement of this business.

Dan F.

Yelp
I've been going to Floyd's in La Grange since it opened probably close to 10 years ago. I will never go back. You make an appointment days in advance and an issue always arises. Whether you get pushed back a few time slots or end up with a different barber... I don't feel valued as a customer. It's fairly pricey for what they offer, not worth it.

Donna L.

Yelp
I'm writing this review on behalf of my teenage daughter. I personally don't think it looks bad , but definitely not what she asked for. This is a short version of what happened. First picture is what she asked for and second is the after. Not even remotely close. Also, he said this is balayage! How? It took 4 hours to get this done and $135 ( not including tip and also received a $45 discount because he had to dye her hair twice to cover up the red she had in her hair). She asked him to cut 1 1/2 inches off and he only trimmed a 1/2 inch. I wish my daughter would have told me she hated it before I paid, but she was too upset and frankly too nice to say anything negative. Since the first dark brown color didn't take, he decided to dye her hair black. He should have told her that he was using a darker second color. She had a terrible experience and will never go back. 10/28 Update to my review...I reached out to Floyd's as per Floyd's response to my review and Floyd's refunded my money. 5 stars for Floyd's excellent customer service. Thank you!

Kevin F.

Yelp
Don't bother trying to use the online "Check-In" system. It's not reliable. Earlier today the website clearly stated a 1 minute check in time. Got an error message. Call them only to be told the next available time slot was 4 HOURS LATER. The person who answered the phone was unhelpful. "Sorry. The website and our Point of Sale don't really coordinate. It's out of my control." So there you have it. They have a known issue with the online booking system but they don't care. Time to find a new place.

Don A.

Yelp
Full-on attitudes. Sat down with Berto, told him what I wanted, after which he basically scolded me for telling him so and said he'd do what he wanted. I said that's why and left.

Yelp
Nice people / Nice haircut / almost-nice price. I shall stick with the barber.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Been a Floyd's customer for ~10 yrs across different locations in the city. At this location for about 2 years and have bounced around trying different stylists with no luck of finding the right one. Then recently noticed appointments are scheduled 10 mins shorter and no longer offer neck straight razor shaves (I thought this was the best part) yet still charging same price. Basically a glorified Great Clips at this point but with a higher price tag I think. This was the final straw, I'll be moving on.

M J G.

Yelp
I've been going to Floyd's for quite a while. Recently there has been a ton of turnover in staff and I tried a few of the newer folks but was never really satisfied. However, Alicia B is back and I have to say she is the best! She actually pays attention to what you are asking for, never rushes and delivers a great cut time after time. Go see Alicia B, you will not be sorry!

J P.

Yelp
They don't give you the haircuts you asked for. I've been here twice, due to the location. The first time, I asked for a medium length haircut, and provided a photo example. I explicitly told the stylist not to move the part in my hair. Well, she did, so my hair never sat right until I got it cut again. Very annoying. The second time, I came in asking for an 8-length buzz cut. I ask for a buzz cut when I'm not sure about the stylist, because it's usually a difficult haircut to mess up. She told me she didn't have the clipper guard for an 8-length (she should have, this is standard haircut equipment), but that she could cut my hair to 1-inch, the same length. I thought htis would be a fine alternative. I explicitly told her to just cut it to one length, with no taper or fade. She agreed, and then did the exact opposite: Longer on top, and shorter on the sides, so that in no place was my hair as long as she said she would cut it, plus a taper at the bottom. Very frustrating. The worst part was that she didn't even charge me the right amount. I expected to pay the amount for a buzzcut ($32), since that's what I asked for. Short of that, I expected to pay the amount for a standard haircut ($35). Instead, I got the "medium length" haircut cost ($46), despite getting my hair cut short! This is an absolute scam, and I was furious.

Yelp
Why is it so difficult for these people to keep an appointment? I've been here about 5 times. I changed stylists after the first one I was seeing was 15-20 minutes late, didn't even mention it or apologize and then used a ridiculous and false conspiracy theory to make fun of trans children. I made sure I'd never see that person again and booked a new stylist. The next time I go, I get a call as I'm on my way there saying my stylist was going to be 5-10 minutes late. I think hey maybe they realized that other peoples time is important and I appreciated the notice. I get there and then waited for over 20 minutes with no sign of my stylist or any follow up. Did the checkin person bother to ask me if I would rather see a different stylist as walk in after walk in arrived, were seated and their haircuts began while I still sat waiting? No. So I walked out. I can't speak for everyone there, but they employee several immature people who don't care about the clients or their time as well as at least one unabashed bigot. I will never be back.

Yelp
The people that work at this location are complete morons. I called today and scheduled a 1:30 PM haircut. When I arrived they took my temperature and then informed me that I am required to wear a mask, which I had no problem doing. The catch was that I had to purchase the mask from them for $2. Had I been informed when I booked my appointment over the phone, I would have been able to bring my own mask. I was not informed while booking that I was required to bring a mask. In my experience, any respectable business requiring their customers to wear masks are gladly supplying them to their paying customers. Why lose revenue over such an insignificant cost? Especially when your employees have been out of work for so long! They would not give me the mask for free and I refused to buy a mask from them. I could not comprehend the fact that they would rather turn down a $40 booking from a long-term customer than provide me a complimentary mask. I feel terrible for the stylists because they're the real loser in this whole scenario. I had been getting my haircut at various Floyd's locations and will never be back. They lost an 8 year customer over $2. I called the wicker park location and they told me they would have gladly provided a complimentary mask. I called corporate and they said the same, and sent me a coupon for 50% off my next service.

Maggie C.

Yelp
Terrible terrible experience! I had convinced my husband to go treat himself to a haircut and shave before leaving town for our son's wedding. The overpriced scam artists did a terrible job! They didn't cut his hair but charged him for both a cut and a shave. The shave line was uneven. He didn't get the "signature massage" I had told him all about. They didn't give us a receipt. When I called to speak to them the front desk guy just kept talking over me and giving me excuses further escalating the situation. Then the manager did the same. And now I have to fix his hair before leaving for the wedding and there is NO TIME which is why we made the appointment to begin with. Barbershop? I think not.

Alliemarie W.

Yelp
Walking into Floyd's and the first thing you hear from a stylist behind the counter is "I don't do woman's cuts". I have a androgynous look more towards the men's side with shaving. I'm sorry but I fail to see the difference of what's between my legs deciding if you'll cut my hair or not. However, Kayla is amazing and the only reason I come back.

William M.

Yelp
Ronaldo is the tits! Literally got a complement on my hair today after his cut! Shave was quick and to the point, just what I asked.

Erin G.

Yelp
Got my hair cut and dyed at Floyd's which I now regret. I showed a picture of what I was hoping to get and was never told that it was not doable (picture shown is attached). Before she did my hair I had dark brown hair that had never been dyed. I specifically stated that I hated the orange/ red brassy look. My hair was bleached and toned once. She had dyed my hair to a brassy blonde. I told the stylist it was too light and asked for it to be darken, so she toned my hair again. The results are the pictures attached. I am aware lifting color is difficult and knew it wouldn't be perfect, but did not expect my hair to look so far from what I requested. Even if my hair wasn't dyed and it was just the cut I would have been unhappy. As you can see in the photo the front of my hair was cut unevenly. The back of my hair is not even either. In all I wish I saved my $260 dollars (before a tip).

Tess Q.

Yelp
My husband and I brought our two sons for haircuts at the La Grange Illinois location this afternoon at 4:30 PM. We did not book online because when we went to do so it said there was zero minutes to wait so we assumed we could just walk in. Especially since the advertising on the outside of the building says walk-ins welcome. Upon arrival we were asked if we had an appointment at which point we explained why we didn't book online because it said there was no wait. The woman explained that there was a wait with one more person ahead of us. We said we would be happy to wait and she was clearly annoyed and continued to explain that they were "short staffed". Another male team member then came to get our phone number and continued to discourage us from waiting, explaining that it would be over an hour wait and that they close at 6pm. How is this possible when we were just told there was only one person ahead of us? At this point the original woman speaking to us said to him "it's fine I'll just stay" and the man then notably frustrated rudely ask for our phone number to call. At this point, my children were witnessing this behavior and lack of customer service straight up discouraging us from waiting and so I told them not to bother because us waiting for two boys haircuts was clearly causing them chaos. The woman then said that "she had a migraine all day". Absolutely inappropriate lack of customer service in front of children. I have never felt so unwelcome in a business in the area. Extremely unprofessional, rude, sloppy, and downright mean.

Yelp
Extremely happy to have found Floyds in LaGrange! I had historically gone to a salon in Chicago with the same stylist for ~5 years! Suddenly, he moved across the country and I moved to the suburbs. So, I was looking for a new salon/barbershop that didn't involve me traveling downtown and spending half a day in traffic. I called and scheduled an appointment for later the same day. Lisa was my stylist. I brought in a few pictures of a shorter style cut I wanted. Lisa explained why she thought one of the options was the best for my style of hair. She answered all my questions about techniques for this new style and about some different options I could do within the overall style! When I got home the wife said it's one of the best cuts I've had in a long time, so with that seal of approval I will definitely be back to Floyds and will likely keep going to Lisa. Count my lucky stars that I was paired with her on the first visit.

Yelp
I have been taking my boys to Floyd's for over 3 years and recently have been very upset. I understand that people come and go but the customer service has gotten pretty bad. They charged me twice for one hair cut. Took the time to go in the next day with the hopes of rectifying the issue. Well 4 days later I call to again discuss the issue and was told the manager would call me back. No response yet! I've had no apologies or anything. I know a few of my neighbors and friends have warned me but geez.

Sara M.

Yelp
My son got a really well done faux-hawk here. They seemed a little bit overwhelmed by how busy they were when we were there, but once we were seated the stylist listened closely to what my son and I were aiming for, walked us carefully through how to maintain the style, and picked out the products that we would need. We will definitely return.

Francisco V.

Yelp
si eres Latino/Mexicano no te dan preferenci, atienden primero a personas de tes blanca , esperando 1 hora o más entre semana y no te ponen atenció, corte de pelo rápido ......

Yelp
Ive been coming to this location for years. I was so pleased with the service that I've brought friends and family. The people at Floyds are still very nice ... but Floyd's is not what it used to be. No more edgy, top of the line hair cuts and styles. No longer worth the wait and $70.00 tab. My last visit left me feeling like I just walked out of the In Style salon at JCPennys. Floyds as peaked. Ill be moving on.

Olivia P.

Yelp
I loved the dye job that Izah did for me! She was able to do an online consultation for me and I told her what I was thinking of getting. I told her initially that I wanted a firetruck type red. She talked me into a darker, more lagoon red. I am so happy with it. I'm glad she changed my mind! Now I know to go to Floyd's when I need to dye my hair again!!

Yelp
After making an appointment on a Friday afternoon, my son and I waited 30min and still were not sat - unfortunately we had to cancel due to timing. Called the next morning right when they opened at 9am, said they weren't taking appointments, but they would be able to seat us for a haircut as soon as we got there. 8min later when we arrived... 30min wait! I'd rather spend my money and time elsewhere.

Yelp
Wow - I thought this place was just for young boys.... Nope, ladies can get cuts here too! Was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Quick check-in at front desk. Nice energy with the decor and music. The full service comes with a shampoo with nice scalp massage, cut, and blowdry. I'm not sure if ladies get shoulder massages too. (I didn't get one.) They do color too, in case that interests you. Shout out to Lynn who was awesome!! She was so nice. And good. And patient. And conscientious. (I was chopping off a lot of hair and she walked me through everything and kept checking-in to ensure I was comfy with length.) Also an overall nice person - which is always refreshing ;) Prices aren't SuperCuts level, so be sure to ask in advance if you are watching your wallet. But, BONUS, Lynn scored me some coupons at the front (thanks!), including 50% for first time clients! #winning While I was there I did see so many cute 'little' boys getting haircuts. They all looked great and were in and out pretty quickly. Note - didn't seem to be nearby spots for parents - have to wait in the waiting area in the front. Seems you can book appt online (and maybe through an app?) which is awesome. I'll be back!

Yelp
Going here for awhile. $29 cut. Same cut all the time. Appointment for 10:30 get sides trimmed nothing off top. 5 minute haircut. No wash. Today $33 charge explanation the stylist used a razer. Huh? I hope she did. Inquiry at counter. Explanation "umm not sure but that what she said to charge". Me...lol. That's unprofessional.

Yelp
Just moved the LaGrange area and was looking for a place to get a trim and possibly color. I first thought Floyd's was a barbershop for men, and they wouldn't be able to cater to my needs. My boyfriend has been going to Floyd's since we moved here and has enjoyed seeing Ryann! Since he is former military, he is pretty picky about his hair now that he can do more than a crew cut- so that means a lot! I took a gamble myself and sat in Gingers chair for a cut. She was wonderful. Knew how to give a great cut and we had an awesome conversation. I mentioned color briefly and she immediately had a vision for what she wanted to do to my hair. She sold me with her excitement. I scheduled an appointment for color a week later. She did awesome and her vision came to life! Ginger has a passion for what she does and is loyal to her clients. She even puts her personal life on hold to cater to her clients and their needs. Great job, Floyd's for hiring a wonderful employee.

Yelp
My 2.5 year old gets his hair cut at Floyd's. I recommend Mark because of his patience with kids, and he honestly knows how to cut my son's hair! I'm kind of particular with his hair (yes I'm THAT mom) and Mark nails the cut each time. The atmosphere is edgy with different rock n roll musicians on the wall - it's a fun atmosphere. If your child doesn't need to sit on an airplane or car during their haircut, I recommend going to Mark!

Damian Z.

Yelp
Today my wife and I got the best service we have had in a long time. I'm glad we made the trip to this location because we would have never met Alex. She was kind and understanding, she made my wife feel great about her new haircut. Which was a huge change for my wife as she has never had it this short. So thank you Alex for being so kind and supportive during this huge transition!

Yelp
One of the best haircuts I've ever had. Jackie did a great job. No one ever gets my sideburns even but get really took the time and made sure they were even. I got my eyebrows and nose hairs trimmed which I've never had done before. Jackie will be my go to from now on.

Yelp
I've been going to Floyd's in Lagrange for a little over a year which is a big deal as previously I just went to any place that was close (and or the cheapest) when I needed a haircut. The main reason I gave this salon 5 stars is my stylist, Alicia B. I've seen a few people there and they were all very good, but Alicia was the best and she has kept me from going to other salons. She is extremely talented and cuts my hair very well. She has assisted me with growing different hair styles. I do not have great natural hair and never received compliments for it before. But, after going to Alicia, I have received many compliments regarding my hair. Alicia has also been grooming my beard that I've been growing out for the first time. I was totally clueless but she has helped me a lot and I now get compliments for the beard as well. She has recommended products to me that work well and have helped me, whereas I have had other places just try to sell me things that I don't need. It is a herculean task to make me look half way decent, but Alicia manages to do that and then some without a problem every time I see her. Alicia is also a kind and funny person. My writing skills will not allow me to do her justice here. The shop itself has a good feel. The decorations, music, and look of the employees give the place a good "personality." The salon is very clean and looks modern. Also, I really like being able to schedule appointments on their iphone app. My life is very chaotic and it makes it very convenient for me to fit appointments into my schedule. The app shows all the stylists schedules for the coming week, so with minimal effort you can get the time you want with the stylist you want. You also get text reminders of your appointments if you want, which is very nice. The front desk staff have always been very pleasant and helpful. There was once a scheduling issue which they called immediately to inform me so that I could pick a new appointment. Their swiftness avoided any inconvenience. This has only happened once in over a years' worth of appointments. I recommend Floyd's and particularly this Lagrange location. Many of the stylists there are very talented but I highly recommend Alicia B. I selfishly hesitated to write this as I didn't want to increase competition within Alicia's schedule but she deserves the review.

Yelp
Lauren is amazing! Her service is second to none and her skills are exceptional. I go every few weeks and have had a great cut every time. I would highly recommend her. This Floyd's location is very convenient with a parking lot and friendly staff. Love it here.

Yelp
Came for a walk-in hair cut... Was told it would be 45 minutes. An hour and half later I just decided to leave. There's a bunch of what seems like independent contractors who would rather stand around, hug each other, and wait for their next appointment than take a walk-in. So to heck with this place. Never coming back. The attitude of this place is so junky... for what is essentially a great clips for high school bros and divorced dads.

Lish B.

Yelp
Love this shop. Great skin fades and unique cuts! Love the rock and roll theme. Alicia cut my hair and it looks amazing, very detailed and passionate.

Yelp
Shout out to Lynn C! She always listens to what I want and makes my hair look great. I've been coming to her for more than a year now and I won't work with anyone else. Thanks Lynn!

Thu Y.

Yelp
Very unprofessional and terrible service. I made the appointment at 5pm and arrived at 4:50pm. waited too long till 5:30 still not yet my turn. They have some hairstylist available and give to other people come behind me without appointment.

Yelp
Got my first haircut at Floyd's in La Grange today. Ryann did a great job taming my thick head of hair. Couldn't be happier with the results. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I really was impressed with the service and especially with my barber. He was helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about the way I looked and how I wanted my hair. Will definitely return soon.

Yelp
Awesome place. Love the atmosphere and music. Great cuts, haven't tried the massage yet.

Yelp
I thought Sports Clips was expensive but the husband and I stopped by for a half price cut since they opened not too long ago. Can't beat 50% off. The place is really cool inside - music blaring, interesting music picture collages on the wall, flat screen TV's throughout. Everyone is dressed like they are working at a night club but very sweet and quick to help you - all around. If you want some special cut done than this IS your place but for a basic cut - this place is really pricey: $21 for regular cut $16 buzz cut $24 for long hair (?) $4 massage shampoo $24 face shave $55 & up for color services Their regular cut includes a hot towel to the face/neck and a little massage action. Pretty nice but again, if you just want the normal in and out hair cut - this isn't your place. If the hubs decides to put some strange zig zag cuts in the side of his head - then we'll be back...but that's probably not going to happen in a zillion years. The End.

Yelp
SEE VIVIAN. I love my new do! I was recommended to see Vivian from a personal friend and I was so happy I did. Her confidence and persona helped calm my nerves since I was getting a lot cut off. She's professional, fun and if you have any questions is more than willing to answer and reassure you're in the right place. Do it!

Yelp
As you can see below, I walked in about 4 times the last few months, all really solid haircuts. The last one I had was just bad. I called in for my next haircut a few weeks later and politely told them my last haircut was not so good and I was hoping to be paired with a more senior hair stylist. The haircut again was just bad... So bad in fact that the lady at great clips asked where I got my haircut last time..wow. This place had promise. If you find a good stylist (or can ever be paired with one) you may find a 5 star keeper. As a walk in joint tho, it's a 3, in quality and customer service.

Yelp
Highly disappointing experience. I had high hopes, and the only reason it gets even one star is because of the decor interior and good music. I'm not sure how the manager/owner sleeps at night? Probably very well considering the ridiculous prices they come up with that seem to suddenly change. Me, " I would like to color my hair" Them, " we need to schedule you for a consultation first before we can color your hair" Me, " why do I need a consultation when all I want is my hair colored black?" Them, " you need a consultation" Me, "m'am I just want my hair color black it's pretty simple. Them, "fine. $80. What in the actual fuck? So my hair cut $37, then $80 for color, and for a blow dry $55? ( by the way the girl in the front desk didn't know what a blow dry was ) So almost $200 for what? Did I walk into Mario Tricoci? Highly rude and uneducated front desk service and the prices are just ridiculous, and wait times even with appointment are ridiculous. No thanks.

Yelp
I brought my two children (9 yr and 11 yr) in today for TRIMS on haircuts they had originally received in February 2022. I had reserved "kid cut" appointments as both of my children are under the age of 12 and these were just trims needed. My son is 9 and wear a very short hair cut and my daught is 11 and wears a short Bob style haircut. I was charged $42 for each child on haircuts that took about 18 minutes to do, as I had explained earlier these were just trims. I was told my total was $84 for both cuts and I inquired about what constitutes a "kids cut" for $28 and was explained anything passed mid line of the ear would be charged at the "mid length" price of $42. I asked what about little girls that often wear a bit longer hairstyle and I was explained that even if the child is 3 years old and their hair is "mid ear" they will be charged $42. In other words there is no real way to get the offered "kid cut." I find this ridiculous and will not be returning to Floyd's for haircuts enjoy the $84 it will be the last $$ I ever spend here.
