Was struggling on the river this summer and someone told me to go visit. Owner was incredibly helpful and took time to give me tips and guide me to the right gear. Caught two beautiful rainbows the next morning. A great neighborhood store.

Very nice store, big selection of flies, fly making supplies and gear. The employees/owner put off some bad vibes though, fishing is about having a good time not about who can be the most knowledgeable and arrogant.

I wish I had a better rating to give. I have visited the store multiple times, interacted with multiple employees and had a great time in store. Their fly tying videos are great and they work hard with that. My problem comes with shipped items. Me and my husband both purchase a good amount from FFF either materials or larger $ products. For fly tying materials it’s okay if it comes kinda bent because you use those products anyway so no big deal. I had an issue around Christmas when I purchased 2 items and they were squished into the smallest package and it bent a lot of the cardboard the product was attached to so for a Christmas gift it didn’t look very nice. I had to order my husband his birthday gifts last week and was VERY hesitant. I spend over $1,000. I received the items and wow. I was VERY disappointed. The packaging was horrible for that expensive of items and my husband now has to open them early just so I can get a second opinion to make sure they aren’t damaged. Luckily I got package protection, but I only got it because I could foresee this happening. I’m not looking for a sorry at this point and I will unfortunately not be purchasing from them in the future. I felt like my money didn’t even mean anything to this “small business” if my items weren’t even treated nicely.

Today was my first time in Fly Fish Food, and I had a great experience. They had a great selection of flies and fly tying material, as well as equipment. Their prices are higher than Sportsman’s warehouse, Scheels or Cabela’s, but the quality and selection is definitely better. I bet they have 5x the variety as the big stores. I picked up a few streamers that the guy recommended for the Provo river and I’m excited to go try them out.

Great selection of fly tying stuff, and i like their manufacturer of their dry flies, but they dont have any affordable options for most big ticket items. I went in willing to spend 500 on a new rod, they only had 600 dollar options and above. I budgeted 80-100 bucks for a new vise, the cheapest one was 125 before tax. Went in looking for some kind of waist pack or vest or chest pack without a hard budget and couldnt find something that i could justify the cost, i want to say the cheapest waist pack was over 200, but i dont remember the exact number. Every time I go to Fly Fish Food, I either put an unexpected dent in my wallet, or I leave empty handed, forced to drive 20 min to sportsmans warehouse or cabelas. Budget options are important because its the fastest way to grow the sport. A new guy who isn't sure about or committed to the hobby doesnt want to spend 600 on a rod. If you dont have budget options, maybe he says, this place/sport is too expensive for me.... not good. It's not just about catering to poors like me. It's about catering to new folks as well.

Joshua Mena from Fly Fish Food is an awesome guide. We were wanting to improve technique, learn more about high sticking and reading the water. By the end of a half day session our goals were met and we had a great time. Joshua is a great teacher. Wepa!🇵🇷
