Such a fabulous restaurant: wonderful food, attentive staff and an overall great experience - just what you want! We were staying overnight in Kiel on the way south, about 5 weeks into a Scandi-Euro trip. One of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at, the halibut dish being my favourite of all. The young chef/cook came out and explained the tastes, and the wait staff were really helpful to a couple of non-German-speaking Australians. If you want a snooty-nosed restaurant experience don’t come here, but if want truly wonderful food served well then this for you. Highly recommended for travellers and locals alike.

Disappointing Experience We visited the restaurant with high expectations after hearing great recommendations. The staff was friendly, but the food and overall experience were very disappointing. We chose the €85 tasting menu based on the chef’s recommendations, but the dishes fell far short. The first dish had soggy, cold dough, and the meat was tough and difficult to eat. The soup was overly salty and served with burnt, flavorless bruschetta. The other appetizers were bland, and the main course—a piece of dry meat that was cold in the center—was unacceptable. In 12 years, It is the best dining experience I’ve had so Germany. It was a special night out, so we treated ourselves to a couple of extras we would not normally have and because of that it was a little more expensive. The service was impeccable, the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful and everything really was perfect. I’ve seen other reviews complaining about the service being slow, it is not slow. If you’re in a rush go to McDonald’s. Or Nil.

Food prepared with attention to detail and taste. Really good service. All table have sea view. In walking distance from city centre.

Nice food, service a bit slow but friendly. The restaurant would benefit from better trained and educated waiters.
