Southern brunch spot serving creamy grits, fluffy biscuits, & waffles

"Opened on 10th Street in Midtown in 2000 as a second location, this popular breakfast-focused restaurant became part of a franchised group and is currently owned and operated by Joseph and Matthew Hsiao." - Beth McKibben

"Opened in 2000 on 10th Street in Midtown as the brand’s second location, this all-day breakfast and brunch spot was part of the chain’s later franchising and is currently owned by Joseph and Matthew Hsiao; it continues to offer its signature breakfast-focused menu and evening specials." - Beth McKibben

"Atlanta's Original Brunch Spot The Flying Biscuit, owned by waitress and chef Delia Champion and Indigo Girls member Emily Saliers, opened in 1993 and since then has expanded its original Candler Park location and franchised all around town. At least 5,000 of their famous biscuits are made every day at each location. As you can tell, those biscuits are the main attraction. They're sweeter than the standard biscuit and are served with cranberry apple butter. Also recommended: an omelet with a side of their "creamy dreamy" grits or the Eggstra-Ordinary Breakfast, pictured here."

"The Midtown breakfast chain faced scrutiny after a photo surfaced of its owner with Brian Kemp from 2015 and reporting that the owner and business contributed $2,000 to his campaign. The location sits at the intersection of 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue near the rainbow crosswalk in the heart of Atlanta’s LGBTQ community, making the contribution and association particularly sensitive to patrons. The Midtown outpost is an award-winning all-day breakfast and brunch restaurant that also offers nightly drink and dinner specials, but has come under fire locally because of its perceived political ties." - Beth McKibben
