Boston Beer News, Updated Weekly | Eater Boston

"A Worcester-based brand that has opened a pilot brewery and taproom in Marlborough with room for around 100 guests; the site supports experimental small-batch brewing, offers flights and full pours, allows customers to bring outside food, and will eventually feature brewery-only releases alongside regular taproom service." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Went to Flying Dreams Brewing in Marlboro, MA for the first time last evening. It's in the heart of downtown with plenty of parking. Favorite beer there, Aero Coffee Stout, so incredibly good! I am not the biggest beer lover but this is great especially for a coffee/stout fan. The hard seltzers are also very good. First Saturday night of each month go for the Comedy Show! Great service at the bar and a very intimate venue, great night out!

Great place for a beer! There was live music happening when we were finishing up and we noticed a fun calendar of events, evening activities and happenings at the bar. The main bartender (also the owner?) was incredibly nice to talk to and recommended the right beers for our tasting without trying to upsell or tell us the classic "oh I don't have a favorite, everything is great". Would recommend and am excited to come back again.

Google
Such a friendly small place. The brewery used to be an Italian restaurant and now has a great genuine British pub feel (unlike BBC). The bartender was extremely friendly and the beer was unique. Hope they continue doing well here.

Some time ago, we visited the Worcester location (site of the old Wormtown Brewing). We weren't very impressed. It was small and the offerings were few and regimented. So, I was very surprised when we visited the Marlborough location. It is not small. There are many, many choices ... and much less restrictions on what you can order. This is definitely the better of the two locations.

They really outdid themselves to create a cool space ! Great music and brews! Tragic to see them forced out of Worcester !!! Will go back and check out the other breweries in Marlborough-

Google
Had a great time visiting this brewery. It wasn't crowded so we were able to hang out for a while at the bar chatting with the bartender and also ended up meeting the owner or brewer who was super nice and friendly. Tried all the beers although I was bummed out they didn't have the black ipa which I had heard so much about and it was the one beer that took me to that place. The space is so cool and unique, you feel like you're in a secret bar.

Google
Great beer, friendly staff, awesome atmosphere. Just what downtown Marlborough needs! 8 beers on tap. They did a great job renovating the space to make it feel warm and welcoming.

I had the pleasure of performing a solo-acoustic set here this past weekend, and this place is really awesome! It's like a hidden gem. Great crowd, and an excellent staff! Dave was behind the bar that night; nicest guy ever! The vibe is really cool too. It almost gives off a hidden speakeasy vibe. I highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
I'm a fan of Flying Dreams! Let me tell you why. First off, their beers rock. I lean toward liking the darker brews, like porters stouts and dark lagers. Most breweries around here focus too much on the IPA variety for me. I mean, dont get me wrong, a juicy IPA on a hot summer day is great. But I really dig the deep, complex, roasty and sometimes spicy darker beers. And Flying Dreams does them well. Right now I'm loving the Dragonator a lot. A dark lager with a great feel and taste. The atmosphere is unique and cool too. They have traditional bar seating, but also some high tables and a cool kind of alcove with comfy seats and a big tv. Its BYOF, and there seems to be plenty of nearby joints to grab a sandwich or burger if you want to eat and drink some nice beers. But food is optional now, which is great. Definitely swing by if you are able! They are definitely one of my favorites within 30 minutes of home.

Yelp
Very friendly bartender and good beer. They let you taste before committing to a glass. Only complaint has nothing to do with the brewery... We went for a comedy night event and they packed the house too tightly and it felt unsafe. Highly recommend using the back area for events. I will definitely come back without an event.

Yelp
I was recommended the Cherry Gose from fellow drinkers when I was here. It was rather quiet, but there was a band setting up at the back of the brewery. Their music test kept clashing with the brewery music. After finishing my cherry sour, I did order a can of Pilsner to go. It was a little bitter, but I think Pilsner may be my top 3 types of beer. It was stupid of me to ask, but at least I learned a little bit about what a micro brewery is.

Yelp
Friendly people, that's for sure. I only liked half of the four beers that I tried, but that's just me. It would be nice if it were a proper restaurant.

Yelp
They need a coat rack and better snacks. But the beer is delightful as is the staff. Great space. Lots of win.

Yelp
Came here for their patio and a few more sours. I enjoy that they have a standard one that you can add in flavors, which really come through, but I want a sour to make me make a face when I drink it, and this did not. Still a good beer. I think only one bartender was on when we were there but she was doing a great job checking on everyone outside and at the bar.

Yelp
Went there on OCT 31. They were great, very welcoming on our impromptu stop. We got flights and warm pretzels (but we're is the beer cheese dip?). We had really nice the beers and enjoyed the Halloween decor and costumes.

Yelp
Cool place! It's in a funky old building that you wouldn't think had a taproom in it, but I liked the vibe and the beers were good. We came in on a Saturday around 6 and they were pretty busy. We each got a flight and the beers I sampled were all tasty except for the Strawberry Ale, it tasted very vinegar-y and sour. The standout for me was the Double Mando IPA, I ended up getting a 4-pack of that to take home because it was that good. So complex and full of flavor! They had live music, and I noticed that every table had a game on it which is a fun idea. The guy behind the bar was very nice as well. You can order pretzels, which my friend did, and they come with a choice of dipping sauces. She ended up paying extra and getting both the pesto and honey mustard sauces, but the portions were ridiculously small and if you're paying almost a dollar for another sauce, that's kind of a ripoff. Other than that I'd return!

Yelp
Excellent beer and atmosphere. Comfortable. We got there 10 mins before closing and the bartender basically said take your time. Everything we tasted was good to great. Def will be back!

Yelp
The atmosphere was pretty nice. Bigger than the tasting room in Worcester for sure. Overall it's pretty good. The only problem with the atmosphere is the way the bathroom is setup - at least for the men's room. Door opens and BAM, side view of the urinal. Beer's great, if you're used to the Worcester location, it's the same, you can get pints, and they have a bigger selection. The price was a little higher than I was anticipating. I think our tab was $16 for two drinks.

Yelp
Nice place with a friendly bar staff and a good selection of beer on tap and to go. Only draw back is there wasn't any appetizers to be had. Good place to check out.

Yelp
First time in we met the owner, Stephanie. She was great! Really enjoyed her energy and enthusiasm about the product and the place. Looking forward to Octoberfest this fall!

Yelp
Nice place, great beer selection. service was knowledgeable, polite and prompt. It was actually kind of slow but I am sure once word gets out this place will be very busy. Check out the Dreaming of Summer Saison it was by far my favorite.

Yelp
Great bartender. Great beer. Great buzz. 10/10 recommend the pomegranate beer - Can't remember the name.

Yelp
came here by accident, meant to go the Worcester location. I personally was on the hunt for their sour beers but none were on tap so I asked for water while my boyfriend got drinks. there were 4 of us in total here and the girl never came back with my water or to check in on my boyfriend. he finally put his empty glass very obviously forward so he could get another beer and she came. I asked for water again and never got it. I get its a brewery and perhaps I annoyed her by not drinking l, but blatantly ignoring 50% of your customers sucks. it's also in an odd space with lawyers offices.

Yelp
Great beer and awesome experience. Had a fantastic talk with the bartender who also turned out to be the master brewer at this location. Great staff, great conversation, and would go back again in a heart beat. The dark IPA was fantastic and very unique and they had some sours in cans that we got and I can't wait to try. Awesome place with awesome beer.
