Anti-Defamation League Can’t Confirm Shirt at Kachka Was a Nazi Symbol | Eater Portland

"I learned that a representative of the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum in Everett, Washington told a local blogger the contested shirt was produced for a 2014 Luftwaffe exhibit, is no longer available, and that the term Luftwaffe has taken on meanings inconsistent with the museum’s values of equality, respect and diversity; the museum said it is dedicated to an inclusive environment free of discrimination and intolerance. The diner at Kachka said he had purchased the shirt there, though the museum and others involved did not respond to all requests for comment." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Free admission! Had a great afternoon wandering around inside - tons of space and historical planes and tanks (some are the last examples left in the world!) Greg was great and I had a good conversation with him - super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend stopping by if you have time.

We have passed by this gem many times traveling I-5 and not stopped, yet this time we said let's give it an hour and try it. IT WAS AMAZING. My husband has been to many air and war museums and this one had him in awe with quality and quantity of flyable planes from across the countries as well as the tanks and other land combat vehicles. The information and displays are well done and the care and pride of the foundation and volunteers shows through. AND IT IS FREE. Go see it.

Probably the best WWII aircraft / equipment (and *the* best free admission) museum I've ever been to. For a museum with free admission, both the variety and preservation level of the machines there are just astounding. If you're in the Seattle area, you owe yourself a visit. And please give yourself plenty of time, they close at 4pm!

I was absolutely impressed. The museum is big, has a lot of unique airplanes. Don't miss the right wing with the additional expos! Fill out the waiver and get a free access.

Very good experience! Will go back for sure. This is the best museum of this kind I've seen and I've been to many all across America! Two thumbs up 👍

Pretty cool museum with a variety of unique airplanes, tanks, rockets, among other items. The buildings are very well maintained and has many friendly volunteers on site ready to answer any questions and even give you a tour. This is a great place for bringing kids of all ages.

We took our three young boys here during the summer and had a phenomenal experience at the museum. The unique installations of one-of-a-kind airplanes and vehicles that are often the last remaining specimens of their kind is truly valuable. The fact that many of these wartime machines saw combat action and lived to tell the tale is awe inspiring and humbling to behold. The staff and volunteers were kind, courteous, and helpful, and truly added to the overall positive experience. I would recommend this as an excellent way to spend a few hours fully immersed in the historical reality of war—and the machines that served as the instruments of conflict. Highly recommended.

This a must stop for the military and history enthusiast. I can’t say enough good things about this museum. The staff are friendly and very willing to answer questions. The thing that I liked most was how they had the history of planes tied right back to the pilot that flew it. It made the plane not just a piece of history, it makes the history of the plane personal. The museum is free admission
