I recently had the pleasure of visiting Flying Saucer Draught Emporium on Germantown Parkway in Memphis, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The vibe here is fantastic—lively yet relaxed, with a cool, modern pub atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot to unwind with friends or enjoy a casual night out. The open indoor space paired with the dog-friendly outdoor patio (complete with big fans and heaters to keep things seasonably comfortable) creates a welcoming environment that’s hard to beat. The food is always excellent! The menu offers an impressively wide selection, catering to all kinds of tastes. I went for the fried chicken Sandwich, and it was a flavor explosion—perfectly crispy chicken with just the right kick of spice, balanced by a subtle sweetness. My friends raved about the burgers and the soft pretzels, which were fresh, warm, and paired with tasty dips. Whether you’re in the mood for something hearty like a pizza or a lighter option like a salad, there’s something for everyone, and it’s all prepared with care. The service truly stood out as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations—especially when it came to navigating their incredible beer list (which, by the way, is a beer lover’s dream). Our server made sure we felt taken care of without ever being overbearing, striking that perfect balance that elevates the whole experience. We felt tended to but not invaded. Flying Saucer on Germantown Parkway is a gem—great vibe, delicious and diverse food, and top-notch service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! The only reason atmosphere received four stars is that the music is about 15% too loud for my taste but still a stellar experience.

The Food was Amazing. The service was great. The atmosphere was a vibe and the restaurant and restrooms were clean. Will go back when I visit Tennessee again. Thumbs up from California! 🥰

We had lunch here on the weekend. We were a little worried because the parking lot was pretty full, and a lot of people were seated outside. When we entered, there was a lot of inside seating available. The decor was an upscale pub vibe, dark wood, brass, and mirrors. There was a seating area in the corner with couches and chairs that looked like a living room set up. Everything had a lived-in feel but was clean and welcoming. The ceiling was covered in plates with various customer names, organizations, and artwork. After we seated ourselves, our server, Carol W, came over and greeted us. We needed more time since it was our first visit. She happily went to get us water and came back for our drink and food orders. We ordered the soft pretzel with beer cheese and queso, a lambic, and Duvel Belgian blonde. I ordered a Sputnik Monroe burger with sweet potato fries, and my husband had the Whiskey burger. The drinks were good. I love lambic, but I've never had it on tap before. The soft pretzels were delicious! Warm, soft, and salted just right. The queso was thinner than I expected but had good flavor to it, I could taste the jalapeños. The beer cheese was definitely the winner, though! It had a creamy whipped texture and was delectable. My husband was in heaven with his beer and pretzel. The burgers were amazing too, maybe a touch more towards well than medium done. They were still juicy and very tasty. I liked the balance between the bun and patty size (the patty was slightly larger). The amounts of sauce and toppings were generous but not over the top, where they make the burger impossible to eat. Carol kindly brought me a pickle spear after I asked if they had any. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. We really enjoyed our lunch. Carol was super patient and attentive without hovering. Great service and yummy food. Thanks so much!

Best beer options around! Always has great service and usually plenty of staff to support the crowd. So many good food options you should just try them all!

Google
This is our favorite casual hangout spot! We have been going to flying saucer for years and we have never had any complaints! The food is amazing - and the beer menu is exceptional! They are constantly rotating and have new beers to try every time we go, the VIP club is fun, and we've been for a fun trivia night as well! The service is always great and they are more than happy to recommend their favorites. I love to get custom beer flights when I go so that I can try multiple different ones!

Google
Great selection of beers, both bottled and draught. I get the same food item each visit: the Wildfire Burger, which is topped with Philly cheese steak. Instead of fries, I have the Asparagus! There is also an outdoor area. I've never been disappointed here.

Google
I had a really awesome experience here. The food was good, and the waitress was attentive and polite. Also, they have the best sweet tea I've had from a restaurant in a while. Rather loud, but that is to be expected. If one wants quiet, I suggest eating outside on the patio.

Google
The inside of this place is cool. I love the ceiling decorations. I gave this place a second chance after ordering a burger well done and they gave it to me with the inside medium rare. Although they replaced it as long as i could show proof, the staff didn't apologize. No biggie. The second time I ordered by phone for the nachos. I was told it would take 15 minutes. When I arrived and went to the bar, the lady stated she wasn't by the computer when i placed my order and she forgot. Again, no apology but I waited patiently. Once i got home and looked at my nachos, only the top had melted cheese and a few pieces of chicken with avocado and tomato. The bottom portion was completely chips with no sauce or flavor for $16. I always give restaurants the benefit of the doubt because everyone has a bad night. But I am a bit disappointed.

Yelp
Another great visit to the Flying Saucer. Their chef is on point with their food combinations. We tried three different entrees tonight and all were Excellent! We went on a Wednesday night and the place was plenty packed, but we were still served rather quickly. Hubby and I got two different sandwiches and cut them in half so that we could try both of them. I ordered the CF Chicken sandwich and added drizzled honey. YUMMY! The chicken was a perfectly fried thinner piece with the perfect lighter weight breading. It paired perfectly with the pimento cheese and drizzled honey. Literally finger licking good. Hubby ordered the Sputnik Monroe burger and it was equally as good the bacon onion compote on the chargrilled burger was perfection. My son order the Memphis BBQ chicken pizza and he enjoyed it as well. We have been twice now and have loved everything we ordered. Can't wait to go back and try some more of the other menu items!

Yelp
I have dined here several times and had a good experience. I tried a different burger this time which was good. My waitress checked in often and promptly returned my meal for correction after I informed her that it was not cooked as ordered. My overall experience was good. The staff was dressed in Halloween costumes so the atmosphere was festive. This place to hang out. Some nights has trivia, so it can be a fun visit.

Yelp
This is the best kept secret for a classic brunch or breakfast offered on the weekends. The pancakes were soft and fluffy. The eggs were scrambled just right and the mimosas and bloody Mary's were perfect! We dined outside on the patio . The patio is dog friendly so we took our Pomeranian. There were other dogs there as well .

Yelp
WOW! I cannot express how much I love going here! It's A MUST! We love the pizza! Also a large variety of beer options so there's something for everyone! The Cordova location is so cozy but if you have a large party i recommend going before a rush. We love attending the trivia nights they are so fun and definitely mind scratchers. The staff has always been very kind and have lots of recommendations on their very large beer menu. Once you go you'll be wanting to go back!

Yelp
Dropped in during happy hour and couldn't have been happier than the $5 beers until 6:00 p.m. took advantage and had some beers We normally wouldn't have spent the extra money on but for $5 it certainly worth the try. We were well taken care of by Angela, one of the nicest staff people we've ever dealt with at a flying saucer. She always took care of us especially when the food came made sure we had everything we needed and always had a smile on her face which is nice to see in the service industry these days.

Yelp
In town for a tennis tournament and thought we'd try it. So glad we did. Great food, good beer, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. We had a party of 12 and they couldn't have done a better job.

Yelp
I'm not sure exactly when but sometime in the past few months this place updated their entire menu. It looks like they revamped the entire thing and removed most if not every item I was familiar with. It seems like they've changed their menu to be more mature and less playful. I miss the old menu already but I suppose there's a reason they changed it. I went here for a going away party for my friend. Most people had gotten the fish and chips (I got there late) and the waitress suggested it, so I figured why not. I gotta say, I'm not a fan of it. They basically give you two layers of fries and three little pieces of fish. Every single person ended up with a ton of fries left over- which was why I was hesitant to get it originally bc who is gonna take fries home as leftovers?? They also bring two tartar sauces and one ketchup- seems like it should be the opposite considering how little I used of the tartar sauce but that's a minor critique. The fish itself was pretty meh. If they just decreased the fries, maybe added a different side to fill the plate, it would be better. That overwhelming layer of fries leftover just feels wasteful. Ok: - Fish and Chips

Yelp
I recently dined at Flying Saucer and had a mixed experience. The food was excellent, the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. Our table next to us even celebrated their Anniversary, and we bought them a round. However, the positive experience took a turn when, upon leaving, a man grabbed me by my arm and pulled me aside. He immediately says "we have an issue with you". He explains how they have a leash policy, customers complaints, and dogs not within "close proximity". I immediately apologized for the leash being removed when the puppies were being pet by the tables adjacent to us in the corner on the pet-friendly patio. Both dogs had a wireless shock collar on the whole time, regardless of a physical leash. When I asked to see where I can find any leash policy because we were unable to see it online, which could had been a mistake on our part. I was met with a very defensive demeanor and he told me "I'm the general manager". This situation was already very uncomfortable due to him being overly aggressive by pulling me aside while leaving and creating a one on one situation. Kevin then made accusations that on two different occasions he was on the patio and dogs were not "close by" or within "close proximity". He failed to give me any definition of what "close proximity" meant in terms of keeping the dogs near us. It's safe to say the tables adjacent to you are not considered close. I requested him to elaborate on the two separate occasions he "witnessed". He was unable to say anything or give a detail or two except for "they were not directly by my side". I asked, If he seen our puppies not on a "leash" on two different occasions when he was on the patio; why did he not address either of them at the time? I was not given an answer to this, except for he is the "general manager" and that's it. He also falsely claimed that customers were complaining. However when I asked which customers so I may apologize. He admitted no one had complained that evening but has happened before even though he narrated/presented it originally as customers were. Despite being the General Manager, Kevin couldn't provide any written policy, was very unprofessional in his approach to our situation, became very defensive when I asked for his name and the store number, created a very uncomfortable one on one situation and even left us with "your tourists so you won't be coming back so it doesn't matter". I am not sure if he was having a bad day or has little man syndrome because Kevin was very unprofessional, rude and authoritative. I am not sure if he thought he could bully me one on one or something but I hope he can reflect on the situation and improve himself because the rest of staff was great! I did attach some pictures of the puppies for reference if you made it this far in the review lol!

Yelp
We love eating here! When my wife has a function with her Navy personal we always love to do it here. They're so friendly and the menu has a little bit off everything for everyone in our groups. The outside seating it always warm when it's cold outside. No worries for your fur babies.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun place to go for a beer or two. We did not have food, but we were blown away by the selection. Even though they were pretty busy on a Friday night, service was still fast and friendly. Personally, I love that there aren't tv's blaring sporting events all over the walls.
google avatar

Yelp
Caroline was the best waitress ever... food - burgers & fries was great. Nice place & nice atmosphere. They have a bunch of different brews here and a club for how many different ones you have had! Caroline says she'd like to work as a beer rep so maybe somebody reading this could help her out!
google avatar

Brad H.

Yelp
I had a turkey burger here today that was so juicy and well seasoned that I didn't even put condiments on it. Delicious! However, I feel I do need to mention that there was no reminder or notice of the step up to the booth seats, nor was it clearly marked with yellow tape or anything. My mother tripped trying to get to her seat. Thankfully she was not injured, but there probably should be more signage.
google avatar

Amelia R.

Yelp
Love the outdoor picnic area and covered patio. We always bring one of the pups on the weekend and there are usually other dogs in the afternoon outside. One major drawback is that they are always busy and it is seat yourself so finding a table (even if you are willing to wait) feels like a lawless and chaotic scramble sometimes. Giving a 4/5 because the food has been a hit and miss for me. Some dishes like the Carne Asada Fries, Grilled salmon bowl, and Big Dipper sandwich are always great! But when I got the shareable dips or tostadas neither were very exciting and I probably wouldn't order them again. Beer list is great with lots of variation and service is usually spot on.

Jayden H.

Yelp
Fry's we're over cooked pizza is to thin interior design is cool sever did not get my order and didn't listen 4/5 kinda recommend.

Yelp
This is our go to place to relax, enjoy the food and drinks! Everything is awesome here; friendly staff and we have had nothing but a good time here! We love it here!! I'm sitting in the parking lot right now waiting on my husband!!

Yelp
I came here with low expectations but this place exceeded them and then some. I really wish we were over this covid nightmare so I could experience all this place has to offer. I ordered the Duke with fries with a chocolate beer. The Duke is amazing. It is a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions. The chocolate beer was pretty tasty. This place is a good bar and a nice place for gatherings like watching sports. Its ambience is diminished by the social distance guidelines. I may return for some food. I will definitely return after covid. This place did follow covid guidelines. I just know it will be better once the virus is gone.

Yelp
My man and I came February 8th on Thursday night and ordered a pizza and grilled cheese and it was phenomenal. Our server, Brandy, was so sweet and attentive! She did a great job!
google avatar

Kenzie T.

Yelp
We popped in the Flying Saucer for dinner while we were in this area of town. We were a little disappointed to see that some of our favorite items from the menu had been dropped. We got a couple of seasonal beers from their HUGE beer list and split the Big Dipper. Service & food were good!

Rachel P.

Yelp
This was a fun restaurant! Food was delicious and the ambiance was quite nice. Will definitely be back!

BrezZzy C.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I took my boyfriend and he is in love. We came in on a Monday for dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my family's favorite places to eat and drink a unique beer. The food is always good and delicious. But I'm hung up on their "chicken snack". Love dipping those chicken tenders in the Buffalo sauce and Ranch dressing!
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere never disappoint. My wife and I eat all over Memphis and can honestly say this place has the best burgers and pizzas anywhere. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to kick back and relax with excellent food and service.
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Enjoying this place a lot. Good selection of beer. Pretty good service, but it's a bit slow today. Big deal for today - a real printed menu. Food is pretty good for a bar. I really like their pizzas. The bacon wrapped jalapeños are awesome, they'll blow the top of your head off. Working on plate 1 here now!

Yelp
*Good Food & Drinks * Clean * Friendly Server * Don't Hold Your Breath Waiting on the Check* The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium in Cordova was crazy busy, but adhered to social distancing. My partner and I were able to seat ourselves immediately. We experienced good food and high beverage quality beer for the most part. I do not recommend Bell's Lager of the Lakes Bohemian Pilsner as it is tasteless. I wanted a Yazoo Hefeweizen from Nashville to support local in TN, but they were out. The Paulaner Hefeweizen was the replacement and it was good. They seemed to be a bit understaffed, service was slow. Bar food is always iffy, but the Flying Saucer pulled it off. I recommend the Duke Burger. It's huge and delicious. The fries have potential if they were cooked fresh. They were definitely edible. Also, the Bratwurst with sauerkraut was really good too. Expedience of service - Meh Our server was very polite, but slow on delivery. The ladies (yes, only women servers when I was there) don't work as a team. That was a little disappointing. Also, I had to pile up our dishes for our server to make room after we finished our meals. I gave her grace on everything else, as our orders came out correctly. She only forgot one thing. However, nothing pushes my patience more than having to wait 20 minutes to run our card that is obvious on the table to close out the dinner bill. There were multiple servers at the POS that could have closed out our check, but the women only run their own stations and have blinders on to the rest of the customers. Big flaw, considering the enormous amount of work. They would make more money working together to flip tables quicker.
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
Just saying the service is always excellent and the food is always good. if you get to go food make sure you check your food take a look at the fish and chips I just took home. I should have checked it. They never would've served that in the restaurant. Sad
google avatar

Macy G.

Yelp
Food was excellent. I enjoyed the turkey sandwich and beer pretzels. The service was great and the atmosphere was great on the inside and the outside.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
A very cool.place to grab a beer, they have enough of them to select. I have been coming here since I discovered them on a business trip to Cordova, Tennessee and really like the atmosphere and, again, they do have an amazing selection of craft beers. They are also a chain, so if you are fortunate enough to have one in your area, go check them out. I have a feeling they will become a place that you will find yourself returning to.
google avatar

Emm B.

Yelp
First time here and was impressed by the selection on tap. Passed this place a few times... The burgers brought us in and we're so glad we decided to try this spot out. Food and service was great! Will definitely return.

Yelp
Full disclosure, I've been a UFO club member since 2013 and I've been patronizing both Memphis locations since I moved here in the late '90s. All that said, if you like beer, of course this is the place you will find the greatest variety of craft and non-craft (also known colloquially as crap) beer in Memphis! However, the superb selection of beer is not the only reason to patronize this place. It is a top notch restaurant as well! Do not think "bar food" either. Of course they serve burgers and fries but I would class these burgers as absolute gourmet. My fave is the Bleu. The Reuben-Esque is, hands down, the best reuben sandwich...IN THE COUNTRY! No joke. Their pizzas and salads are fantastic and the apps are killer if you just want a snack while you toss back a few crafts. My 17-year-old daughter (yep it's family friendly here) loves their Saucer Dipster and says, "I like the vibe of this place!" Even if you aren't a drinker this place is worth visiting just for the food, even if you are a Baptist! (don't get mad Baptists, I'm a lifer) Now for the most important part of this review and the primary reason for patronizing it, the service! Not only is the waitstaff, known as beer goddesses, super friendly, but they are super knowledgeable as well. New to craft beer? Just tell them what you like and they are quick to come up with several suggestions that will hit the mark for you. Need a taster? They are happy to provide those as well. Feeling lucky? Trust them to surprise you. Management is active. There is always one or two members of the management staff on site at all times and they are always busy helping deliver glasses of beer/drinks/food as well as circulating among the patrons to make sure everyone is happy and just plain visiting. See you there!
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
Always good food, drinks and service! I love the patio through all seasons. I think their pizza is my favorite.

Deborah S.

Yelp
Horrible! They had the nerve to charge me for parmesan cheese for my pizza. What place charges for parmesan when you have pizza on your menu? The only thing I could eat was the pretzel, everything else was cold.
google avatar

Lindy F.

Yelp
"And how long does it take to buy a pretzel?" -- Sports Night: Season 1 | Episode 19 How can you go wrong with a giant pretzel with cheese and mustard? Really, you can't. My coworker had recommended this beer joint many times and I only just finally made it here on my 7th it 8th business trip to Memphis. I've missed out on so many visits! Our first visit, we were served by Jett and had an awesome time. We learned that they serve delicious pizza, but the mojo wings are the best - careful they are spicy! Truly, the soft pretzels are worth coming in for a couple of beers. Their beer program is pretty cool. Try different ones and register them. The program is free and you get a free tee when you sign up. Their selection is vast and they have something for everyone. Their food menu is not huge, but it has a variety. I'm definitely a fan of the pizza - the prosciutto and arugula being one of my very favorites. I do appreciate the build your own option. This is now a regular stop on my monthly visits to Memphis and my coworkers are thrilled. Me too.
google avatar

Natasha M.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time here with a group of friends out on the patio on a Monday night. We were able to partake in the happy hour specials and our server was very knowledgeable and efficient. I loved the fact that they had such a wide variety of beers on special, which was not limited to the typical domestic beers. I ordered the turkey meltdown and fries and it was ohhhh soooo goood. The way the turkey and cheese melded together with the special sauce and fresh avocado was amazing. The fresh cut fries were very tasty too and I didn't even finish them. Definitely check this combo out on your next visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved this place!!! The food was really good! They had a wide range of different beer(s) And the service was exceptional!! (Ask for Wilson... she's adorable!) Highly recommend!

Yelp
Love Flying Saucer Best nachos, great burgers!! Always interesting beers too served with a smile I'm a regular
google avatar

Jeremy E.

Yelp
Gonna go short and simple on this review. You want beer? You want to choose from an out of this world selection of beers? You want some great food too? Want to deal with a staff that is actually pretty damn cool? Then this is where you go! The ladies taking care of you are sweet as hell here, no attitude. Just awesome to deal with! Management has always been the best as well! The food is just killer (and way underrated for your basic bar fare cuisine). One tip...if you're not really sure if the beer you're choosing is going to be what you want...just ask, they'll let you try a sample! Now THAT is what I call service! Oh...when the weather is good...hit the patio!
google avatar

Erin F.

Yelp
Love this place! Great atmosphere both inside and outside on their patio. Such cool decor and tons of beer options. The food is good, but it's really about the beer and atmosphere.
google avatar

Nephtwim R.

Yelp
The tap selection is vast. The menu is well designed to go with any beer style they carry...and they carry a lot! Plus, the food is high quality and tastes great. Above all that, the staff make the place a fun place to visit. The Beer Goddesses rock!

Evan T.

Yelp
I have been coming here for 7 years and could not be more disappointed by the menu change. Get rid of all the "bowls" and bring back the burgers. I will not pay $18.00 for fish and chips, only to receive three minuscule pieces of fish. The food also went up 25%-40%. The only thing going for you now is your vast draft list. Other than that? Eh.

Brittany H.

Yelp
I'm not sure why they changed the menu. The prices have increased, half of the menu has been removed, and the replacements aren't adequate for what they removed. They got rid of all the burgers except one, removed half the appetizers, and are stuck with "bar" food. Won't be returning.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Good food and a busy place. Had to leave halfway through the football game because tables limited to 1.5 hours...what!?!? You can't go finish the game anywhere because it there is a wait to get in everywhere. That was nuts. Hummus plate was good, veggie burger overcooked and very dry.

Ryann N.

Yelp
love flying saucer such a nice vibe. i usually sit at the bar and all the bartenders are so nice and attentive. the food is ridiculous good i always try something new and im never disappointed.
google avatar

Heather W.

Yelp
I love the selection of over 100 beers. Double IPA from Southern Prohibition was very tasty. Our server Kristen did an exceptional job. T-Mobile is across the street. They have $35 unlimited talk and text after 9.
google avatar

Pamela G.

Yelp
I've been here 4 times. The food is consistently amazing and the service is great! Highly recommend!!

Diane D.

Yelp
They need to have bigger salad dressing containers. Nobody wants a dry salad for $15. I called and the lady told her there was only one tiny container thinking it was a mistake and she said most people just order extra. I didn't know I needed to and I'm not driving back 30 minutes. This isn't enough for a side salad. Either include a second thing of dressing or up the container size, this isnt industry standards. the rest of the food is ok.
google avatar

Earl S.

Yelp
So the Mojo Wings are still awesome! Ashton has moved on from the day bar, so has Staples & many others. Good bar pizza, the pretzels are good, but try the regular Rocket Tots (unloaded), and add Tabasco to the dipping sauce. Ya see, even though they are known for their beer, Shelby County COVID-19 Rule's say you have to buy food, or the RONA will get you! Also, at 10:01pm the RONA comes out to prey on unsuspecting patrons.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Best beer best service. Really good for a group outing and very young professional vibes.
google avatar

L R.

Yelp
hands down the tastiest chicken tenders in town. Their Cobb Salad is really good too. friendly servers.
google avatar

Teresa S.

Yelp
This visit had the Reuben, oh wait, they call it the Reuben-esque. Jalapeño sauerkraut is fabulous!!! Tasted the little eatily and you can't go wrong with that either. Of course, beer. Nothing more that I can say except if you can't find a beer you like than you really don't like beers. Staff is good too!! Enjoyed the atmosphere and the ball game on a screen bigger than I am. Go!! Enjoy yourself.
