I watched with high anticipation when this place opened in 2003 while I was still living in Sugar Land. Back then, we used to frequent the downtown location, so when this one opened, it quickly became the go-to spot for my close friends. Whether is casual hangouts, celebrations, date nights, or just a reliable drink, it really felt like my home bar!
It's been a while since I last visited, but on my most recent trip, I was glad to see they still offer the classic "firesale specials." While the menu has evolved a bit over the years, it's comforting to know staples like the fish and chips are still around. I also tried the German plate this time, though it felt a bit underwhelming in terms of portioning and quality.
They do have a weekday happy hour, and parking is generally manageable thanks to the garage in Town Square(You can park at reserve spots after 5pm). The food won't blow you away, but the real draw here is the atmosphere. It's nostalgic and laid-back for me. There's a wide selection of beers on tap, and the wall of personalized plates is a nice touch.. You might get a mixed experience when it comes to service, but more often than not, it's solid.
The space is large and open with an outdoor patio, there's a nice dart board and a solid setup of TVs for catching a game.
Overall, it's a staple in the Sugar Land Town Square and a fun and casual spot for starting or ending your night.
