FlySafair

We recently flew Safair to Mauritius 🇲🇺. Staff: very friendly and well dressed. Food/Snacks: on both our flights we got a little snack box (sandwich, crackers, water & a chocolate) the sandwiches were very nice and fresh. In-flight drinks options: I absolutely loved their hot chocolate (it’s made from a sachet but really good), the cappuccino was okay. Cleanliness of aircraft: The airplane was clean and well maintained, each aircraft’s tray is different which a story on it or a colourful design. Toilets: So smelly and the floors were always wet (wee on it). Not once did anyone go in and clean it throughout the flights.

I've never had a bad experience with this airline, and believe me when I say I've flown so many times with them and had a flight that was delayed 2 hours, and a flight I almost missed and they assisted me skip the que and make the flight.

We booked domestic flights in South Africa and our card made an error so we used a different card and both deducted. I read reviews online that people went through similar experiences and they did not get their problem resolved. I emailed FlySafair and within a reasonable amount of time they resolved the issue. The person who communicated with me updated me often and communicated so well. I am really grateful I had such an easy experience resolving the issue.

I get it. We don't have many airline choices for domestic flights, but that doesn't mean I can't give credit where credit is due. FlySafair has never let me down, and I've been flying with them fairly frequently for the past four years between King Shaka, Cape Town, and Lanseria.

I arrived at the OR Tambo international airport this morning and there was no electricity, the airport was in total pitch black darkness. Already feeling unsafe and concerned about my luggage in the hold, I was even more shocked that there wasn’t a single Safair représentative to help confused and worried passengers find their way and their belongings. I have no words.

I use FlySafair regularly and have consistently had a good overall experience. The airline delivers reliable operations, with generally punctual flights and a smooth check-in and boarding process. Staff are friendly, professional, and helpful, which contributes positively to the travel experience. Cabin service is efficient, and expectations are clearly set, making the journey straightforward and hassle free.

23/10/2024 to Durban King Shaka Airport and 25/10/2024 to OR Tambo Airport I had a splendid time using this service while attending a work event in Durban and returning back home in Pretoria/Johannesburg. The staff from the check-in counter to hostesses are excellent and ready to help, they are friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed bring in the flights throughout. The plane are clean and neatly kept and there is clear communication from staff and when they would give us instructions. The flights are reasonable and fair. I really recommend this airline.

Before the flight: I flew from Lanseria and Yvonne was so friendly, helpful, professional and amazing in helping me. I really feel she went above and beyond. She is a 10/10 employee and the reason why my rating of Safair is so high. On the flight: i sat under a aircon that couldn’t close which made me feel a bit unsafe because it made me wonder what else on the aircraft isn’t being maintained. I did not want to write a public review and sent this as a comment on my WhatsApp rating but then your WhatsApp said an error has occurred. I will continue to fly Safair but please do not let your aircraft maintenance fall behind the way Mango airlines did.
