"Fog Crest Vineyard in Sebastopol feels a lot like our high school best friend’s house - if their house overlooked a vineyard. Whenever we’re here hanging out on their back patio, we feel completely at home. There are snacks like popcorn, and the people are friendly. The only real difference between this place and our friend’s house, aside from the incredible view, is that Fog Crest charges us for the snacks we eat and encourages us to drink - which we’re all for." - Will Kamensky

Fog Crest is an incredible Winery in Sonoma County just a short drive from Sebastopol. The wines are superb starting with a rose two chardonnay's and two Reserve Pinot noirs to delight yourself with this winery. Connie runs tasting room with a beautiful smile

Google
We had a wonderful time here tasting Chardonnays and Pinots. Beautiful landscape, classy tasting room, incredible wine. And wonderful, thoughtful service from Connie. A very relaxing and welcoming place. : )

Google
We visited in November and found Fog Crest when we were just driving around, and we’re so thankful we did! The Pinots were delicious and our server was fantastic (even with us coming in 45 minutes before closing). The icing on the cake was the beautiful views!

Amy Hansen

Google
Enjoyed all of the wines we tasted, especially the rose and Laguna West and Reserve Pinot Noir (we are more red drinkers but found the Chardonnay to be smooth and easy to drink). Excellent tasting experience with Cooper. Beautifully manicured vineyard with fantastic view. We will definitely be back!

Google
Beautiful view and ambience. Location was perfect. Wine and food. EXCELLENT! Staff is very knowledgeable and very nice. Owner is very nice. It was great to meet her. Talk about the business, the history and just natural conversation.

Antoanela Gomard

Google
Quiet place to enjoy, beautiful view, generous portions of wine for tasting. Will come back again.

Google
Truly lovely winery. Intimate patio with amazing views of the hills and vineyards. Incredibly kind staff and a real Frenchman making the wine! They even brought out building blocks and a coloring book for our children. As for the wine, it was really wonderful. Nice rose for a summer evening, two very good whites and two different reds. We got the cheese platter with local cheeses which were a great addition to the wine. Overall, we had a fabulous hour and a half relaxing and enjoying the wine and feel of the winery.

Google
Their Laguna West Pinot Noir is phenomenal. My girlfriend jokingly asked me to take a bath in it since it smells so amazing. We enjoyed the marvelous view from their serving area and the charcuterie plate. Attentive service and excellent wine, we look forward to our next visit!

Chez C.

Yelp
The location is beautiful and lush, their place was intimate- and their wine was perfect. Their bread samples were awesome and music selection complimented their intuitive customer service. We live in San Diego and it was worth the visit

Lauren P.

Yelp
Fog Crest Vineyard is a MUST VISIT when coming to Sonoma! Their wines are delicious and enhanced even more by the beautiful views and ambiance, and the friendly staff. They also have some of the best bread and olive oil to go along with the wine. We bought a bottle to go, and we can't wait to come back!

Amy A.

Yelp
Fog Crest has a lovely view and their wines are good. However, we have been charged for over $1500 of wine that they never have shipped to us. We have filed a consumer fraud complaint with the DA's office in Sonoma County. We have left voice messages and sent emails with no answer of any kind from Fog Crest. There are so many other great wineries in Sebastopol....don't waste your time here and risk losing your money for wine you order and then never get.

Eric M.

Yelp
This really is mainly about their lack of customer service. I called the other day to book a reservation for our group. I called during business hours, nobody answered the phone so I left a message. I never received a call back. I tried to call back, once again I was asked to leave a message. I figured one was enough. I just booked another winery for our party. It looks like a beautiful venue, I'll never know.

Fontane L.

Yelp
What a lovely tasting experience! Each of offerings in the tasting was delicious - I left with two bottles of rose! More importantly, it was a restorative and relaxing experience. I came out to Sebastopol for some solo time away from the craziness kids and work life. Connie was such a warm and welcoming presence as she came by with her each new pour. I had the patio to myself as I enjoyed the view and enjoyed my wine over a book. Couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience!

Christopher C.

Yelp
We've been drinking Fog Crest Pinot Noir since 2016. Rosalind has established a remarkable winery with spectacular views and consistent quality. Don't pass up an opportunity to visit on a first Friday or second Saturday, because the place really gets lively! We've enjoyed their wine so long and so much, we've actually purchased their logo wine tote, which has traveled all over the world with us. Looking forward to visiting again and again!

Shont M.

Yelp
Perfect in every way. Sat on the patio with beautiful view of the vineyards and valley. Drank great Pinots (the Estate Pinot was our favorite) with a nice cheese platter (but they also bring everyone bread and olive oil -- a nice touch). Friendly service, family run. Bought two bottles and they waived the tasting fee.

Jenny H.

Yelp
We went this Saturday to wine taste. The view is pretty but that was about it. There was only one woman working there who was very overwhelmed and kept reminding us she was the only one working that day. We asked if they were short staffed and she said no. The owners need to step up and hire more staff. We barely heard anything about the wines that were being poured. We tried to order a charcuterie board and she said you can only do it online during reservation. Of course they could still take our credit card at the end. If you wanted to buy wine. tasting was $30 each and we were all pretty disappointed. Don't plan on going back.

Mike L.

Yelp
I made a visit to Fog Crest Vineyard during a weekend when the air quality further north was questionable due to the Caldor Fire. I ended up going anyway with my partner, our two dogs, a some friends, and we had a great time. We did their tasting, and the person serving us seemed very knowledgeable about the wines. I particularly liked their rose and their Cabernet. Seeing the menu, their bottle prices were pretty reasonable but I didn't partake because we don't drink often. We sat on their outdoor patio which overlooked different rows of grapes and had a pretty awesome view. We ordered ahead for lunch and I had their roast beef sandwich which was pretty tasty. The place had a very nice atmosphere with friendly staff, I'd go again!

Helen E.

Yelp
Beautiful setting No information about the wine offered Bottles that I paid for were never shipped.

Kathleen G.

Yelp
Such a beautiful, unpretentious atmosphere! We were blessed with perfect weather and Connie, our wine host, was even better than the weather. Great wine and beautiful views..what's better than that? We bought a bottle and can't wait to have it for our anniversary

Ryan K.

Yelp
Beautiful mountain view and good wine for sipping. We visited Fog Crest Vineyard on a Sunday afternoon and we were immediately struck by the fantastic view. The outdoor patio is small but comfortably accommodated the four parties which visited while we did. The tasting came with bread and olive oil, and we had plenty of water the entire time. The tasting consists of three Chardonnays and two reds, but each Chardonnay had a strikingly different character. Overall, I had a nice time at Fog Crest Vineyard and would highly recommend them.

Sheree B.

Yelp
Beautiful view and ambiance. The location was perfect. Wine and food. EXCELLENT! The staff is very knowledgeable and very nice. The owner is very nice. It was great to meet her and talk about the business, the history, and just natural conversation.

Sarah M.

Yelp
This winery is not the same as it used to be. The wines are good but the service is really what makes the experience for me. Last time I was here was about 7 years ago and I wish they had the same staff

Tony B.

Yelp
Fog Crest has to be on my list of favorite places to visit. Not only do they have a spectacular view. They also have an amazing selection of wine. The owner Rosalind is a great person who makes you feel right at home. That is one reason I had to become a member. When you arrive you feel like you're at someone's crib. You get greeted with some music playing in the background and a smiling face at the counter. Once seated the fun begins you get a mix of casual conversation and beautiful views. (Protip for Napa/Sonoma) Stop by midweek it's less busy and more intimate. So if you are looking for a new vineyard to try out definitely hit them up! I promise you won't regret it :).

Lynn P.

Yelp
Yes! Bring your dog and enjoy the chardonnay and the Pinot noir choices...not to mention the views, and chat with Connie...a wonderful hostess.

Linda P.

Yelp
Attended two of their Second Saturday events in the summer of 2022. Both were excellently catered, with spectacular views from the veranda, delicious wines and very knowledgeable and hospitable staff, especially the owner, Rosalind.

Enoch L.

Yelp
Fog Crest is one of the most beautiful properties, gorgeous views and delicious wines. Duncan was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Check it out and ask for Duncan!

Paul W.

Yelp
Stopped by Fog Crest for a quick tasting while in the area. The view from the deck was amazing. The service was incredible and the wines were delicious. If you are in the area you should definitely check out Fog Crest!

Cherry D.

Yelp
Came here with a group of six others during a leadership retreat and this spot was gorgeous to say the least! The service was attentive and the owner came out and chatted with us -- they were also extremely generous with their bottle services. We ended up buying a couple of extra bottles of the 2017 Pinot Noir. The dining area is on a shared patio with views of their unbelievably gorgeous vineyard and clear blue skies that stretch out for miles. Would highly recommend for a romantic outing or a fun group gathering. Definitely classy, chill vibes! The playlist was also fantastic :) Also Black-owned and woman-owned!!! It was a pleasure supporting this business!.

Patricia D.

Yelp
My husband and I highly recommend this winery. We were greeted upon arrival and brought outside to our own little sitting area on the back patio. The patio is so tranquil it overlooks the winery vines. The wines are delicious. Our wine connoisseur Zackary was a delight and very informative.

Karen R.

Yelp
We had such an enjoyable time here. The view is stunning, there is an outdoor seating area overlooking the Russian river valley and with all the fall colors it was magical. The wines were good but what really made it so special was the young woman working there, Grace she was so lovely, friendly and helpful. She actually picked some of the grapes for us to try. Little tiny sweet white grapes. It's probably my favorite vineyard!! Thanks Grace for the wonderful visit.

Vlada P.

Yelp
For Crest is a beautiful property with views for days, outstanding wines and the best service! It's the perfect spot for a low key wine tasting with friends. I love seating on the patio overlooking the vineyard. So peaceful and romantic!

Lexy L.

Yelp
I've been to this winery twice in the past month and both times have been fantastic! The ambiance is homey, down-to-earth, and enables you to relax into the view of the vineyard. The first time I purchased the cheese plate with my tastings, and it did not disappointment--really great array of cheeses that pair well with all the wines. I feel strongly about supporting female-owned and black-owned businesses, and Rosalind makes it incredibly easy to with great wine, well-informed staff that make conversation easy, dog-friendly tasting area (my second visit had a dog and it wasn't a problem at all)--and not to mention the great playlist created by the owner's daughter! This is going to be my first recommendation to anyone coming to Sebastopol for wine tasting going forward and I can't wait to continue coming back.

Evan J.

Yelp
We had an excellent time at Fog Crest today. We called them last minute for a wine tasting and they were accommodating and friendly. They are dog friendly and brought our dogs treat. Their wine is excellent and the flight progression was thoughtfully curated. Zachary who took care of us was a natural and professional. We will definitely come back to this place and really appreciate everyone that made our time there so special.

Kevin W.

Yelp
This place is dog friendly!!! Outdoor seating with really good service! The wine was decent and the scenery for the area is pretty nice! Got to see the whole vineyard and yard. Very generous with their tastings pour. I would recommend to try it out to relax on a weekend if you are in the area.

Danielle K.

Yelp
Unpretentious, relaxing, beautiful winery! We came to Fog Crest after ziplining through the trees at Sonoma Canopy Tours. So with that said.. we were definitely not dressed in your typical "wine tasting outfit" in our hoodies and exercise pants. However, that did not matter at all and were treated just the same as it should be! The view outside was stunning, we kicked back and relaxed for a while. The staff was nice and the wine was refreshing. We were served almonds and dried cherries which were sooooo yummy. I had to ask our server for the brand so I can have some at home. I would definitely go back next time I'm in that area!

Andy L.

Yelp
Do wineries bore you? Do you hate wine? Do you not care about learning about how they make wine? WELL LET ME TELL YOU WHY FOG CREST is different! 2 WORDS. PINOT ESCOBAR! I have been to over 20 wineries/vineyards in the area and I have always loved consuming alcohol but only went if the views were great or the wine was highly rated. I will say that you will not have a bad time if you come here and Duncan is hosting! He is a very high energy and very friendly individual that made this entire experience amazing! If you're thinking about visiting vineyards in the area, think no more! STOP what you're doing and make some plans to FOG CREST today! I am confident that y'all will have a wonderful experience like the one I had. You should make your way down before they have a 3 month waitlist!

Andrew S.

Yelp
went here with a few other friends and had a fantastic time in relaxing on their terrace tasting their special wines. Duncan was a great host and was passionate in telling us about each of the wines. the view is beautiful and you can really enjoy the intimacy of a family owned winery as opposed to the larger wineries. i'll be coming back here with friends.

Kelly M.

Yelp
We were in town for just the day and came across this dog friendly, family owned winery - we were taken care of like family ourselves. Beautiful patio and view - cheese platter too - excellent atmosphere - Rachel was fantastic at serving us the tasting - we honestly could have stayed here all day! The perfect winery! All the wines just blew our mind!

Shaun W.

Yelp
The views here are stunning, the pours for tasting are generous, and the nibbles are fantastic. We loved our stop here. They are even extra thoughtful with the toys and juice for the kids. Visit here!

Sean C.

Yelp
Forget the city of Napa for a day and make your way over to the roving green wetlands of Sebastopol. Once you're here, you will find "Fog Crest" perched on a hilltop, thus, you get a marvelous view where you can see... Forever and Forever More. It's such a therapeutic sight and a load off. There are only four wines on the tasting list, two Chardonays and two Pinot Noirs, both plucked from Russia River Valley -- and what golden winners! For sweet gestures, there is usually soft French bread and popcorn to go with your tastes. My take homes of the day were the 2015 Chardonay ($44, tasting fee waived) and a jar of wildflower honey and... whatever else the wife got. The afternoon was a break-away-from-the-mental-stress kind of day, thanks all to "Fog Crest," so I wouldn't change a minute from the two hours I spent there. Also next door you will find "Bohemian Creamery" cheeses. #sublime

James C.

Yelp
Beautiful view, clean tasting room, good wine. The server acted like we were an inconvenience; poured wine in absolute silence, didn't provide ANY information about what we were poured. Despite having reservations and being members were told we had to order a cheese platter 24 hours in advance when that's never been the case. It was a very uncomfortable experience - we left halfway through the tasting.

Jessica L.

Yelp
I haven't been to many wineries in Sonoma despite living in the Bay Area, but we had a friend visiting from out of town who wanted to check out wine country. We were specifically looking for a Black owned winery that's dog friendly and has outdoor seating. Fog Crest met the criteria, and Rosalind (the owner) went above and beyond in accommodating us! Smoke from the fires was affecting us the day of our visit, and I called to see if a refund/rescheduling was possible and/or if there were any accommodations that could be made since one person in our party had health conditions. Rosalind was very accommodating (she said that rescheduling was possible) and let me know that the air quality wasn't as bad in the area but that we could sit indoors if desired (and that we'd be the only party inside). Luckily, the wind worked in our favor, and we were able to sit outside to enjoy the lovely view. Our pups were welcomed, and they brought out a huge water bowl for them as well. We ordered a gourmet lunch (which has to be ordered and picked up by Fog Crest in advance ~ so if you're booking lunch, make sure you select your menu items at the time of booking or let Rosalind know 48-72 hours in advance. The wine tasting was superb (definitely something for everyone), and we'd likely order the charcuterie plate again! We're adding it on our list of places to highly recommend the next time visitors roll into town.

Lizzy R.

Yelp
Wow wow wow. You feel like you're at a friends house, drinking wine in their backyard and catching up. The staff here makes you feel at home and well taken care of. The views and phenomenal wine are an added bonus. This is a hidden gem!

Sarah G.

Yelp
We love visiting Fog Crest! Each time I have been to Fog Crest it has been with a large group that most other wineries will not accommodate. Fog Crest always welcomes us with open arms and a wonderful tasting experience! All of the wines are great but their Estate Pinot Noir is the absolute best! The tasting room patio also has one of the best views around.

Lindsay B.

Yelp
Most important: excellent wines. Everything we tasted was far above average, at slightly below average prices. Fog Crest's Chardonnays are particularly impressive in this price range. The tasting experience is nice. They have a great patio, and I always appreciate cucumber/citrus-infused water. The staff, as others have mentioned, are not necessarily the most welcoming. One dude, in particular, was pretty hostile when we asked if we could sit in the shade. Not a big deal, though -if you want excellent wine at a place that has a view and will get you in and out efficiently, Fog Crest is a solid choice. Bonus: cell reception!

Ashley G.

Yelp
On top of a world class view and amazing wines the staff at Fog Crest are personable and fun. It's hard to have a bad time here!

Keleigh H.

Yelp
Love this place. We did not want to leave to get to our other appointments. Had a great tasting with a beautiful view. Great hospitality and service! Super nice and fun to talk to. Also the cheese board was great :)

Angelina P.

Yelp
Great visit with Zachary serving us! Sat outside and watched the hummingbirds along the manzanita trees! Enjoyed the wines. Spectacular service and setting

Pratty A.

Yelp
Nice relaxing scenery. Interaction with server not good. Felt like server was doing us a favor by serving wine

Erica M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite wineries and by far one of the best wineries in the region. Off the beaten path: check! Gorgeous grounds: check! Attentive and engaging staff and ownership: check! Generous pours included with AFFORDABLE tastings: check! Lovely and very well curated cheese and charcuterie board options that are locally sourced (that truffle honey is worth its own tasting, so don't sleep on it): check! A very cool laidback playlist that sets a great mood (and that you can also find on Spotify!): bonus! And what takes the cake is that it is Black owned! YES! I love supporting my people and reaping the rewards of money AND time well spent. I have been several times and recommend it frequently to my friends, family, visitors, and anyone else who will listen. Napa is old news and way overhyped and overcrowded. Wineries like Fog Crest are both the Bay Area's best kept secret and indicative of the quality of wine and wineries this area has on offer. It is usually very quiet and they are even pet friendly. It makes for a happy and peaceful (and healthy) wine tasting where you can just sip leisurely and enjoy life, just as wine tastings are meant to be! This is an experience you won't only enjoy, but you will not soon forget it either! Put this one at the top of your list.

Sara T.

Yelp
Tempted to give 3 stars for being neutral but my experience leaned more towards the negative so 2 stars it is. Wines were ooookay. Granted, I'm no sommelier but my friends and I agreed that it was hard to taste the difference between the majority of the tasting wines. Service was barely existent and actually kind of rude at one point. We added the charcuterie board to our tasting which was nice to have (gray-ish colored proscuitto and limited cheese aside). They have a QR code you scan to get the tasting menu so when our drinks were poured, they were poured in silence. My friends and I were left to read the wine names and descriptions to each other. As other reviewers stated, the view is nice and relaxing and the property was clean. When we were trying to take a group picture before leaving, there was a nice lone attendee (or perhaps the owner's daughter?) who offered to take our picture which we thought was nice. The tasting was inexpensive so if saving $ is your goal, I'd recommend coming here but expect ok wines and not much service.

Semuteh F.

Yelp
What a gem of a vineyard and tasting experience! Came here with a friend after a day of pampering at a nearby spa (Osmosis Day Spa in Freestone) and ended up having such a wonderful afternoon tasting and meeting the owner and staff! The drive up to the tasting room is lovely and the property is well maintained and picturesque. The main tasting room is gorgeous but the real treat here is the patio with sweeping views of the Russian River Valley and beyond. It was a sunny day and we sat outside and did two tastings as well as ordered a cheese plate. The tasting was $15pp (waived with purchase) and included four wines: two Chardonnays and two pinot noire. We also got to taste something typically only available to wine club members from the terrace part of their property. I ended up purchasing the estate Chardonnay and I really liked the first Pinot we tried. Wines are very drinkable and given the price point I would probably save for special occasions or special recipes. We were really excited to meet the owner-Rosalind-since you don't often get to meet and talk to owners at tastings. We learned a bit about the history of the vineyard and the vintners who operate it. It's a family-owned operation and not on a massive scale so we felt part of something special by visiting and trying their wines. The cheese plate was excellent and came with some bread and crackers. I would recommend eating before coming or making dinner plans after leaving. We were hoping to eat a late lunch here but ended up getting some wonderful food recs (the cheese plate and wine held us over for a bit). Overall, a perfect experience from beginning to end! The staff and owner were so warm and welcoming and really treated everyone there like family. I've never seriously considered joining a wine club until coming here and I can't wait to return and tell friends about it!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
We had a wonderful tasting on the patio and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Rosalind. It's a beautiful winery and we especially enjoyed the rose and pinot noirs. Thank you so much for a great experience!

Melissa Z.

Yelp
This place has a horrible view. NOT! Come here and enjoy the patio and the amazing view with some great wines! Service is great and they gave us bread an olive oil for a little snack! I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Grace L.

Yelp
The view is stunning! They were one of the participants for the Barrel Tasting Event 2017! As you enter they have the cutest decor with succulents. Hanging from their trees in mini bulbs. It gave the simple and elegant vibe. As you enter there is a ice cold cucumber water that welcomes you... It was a super sunny day! It really hit the spot. They have a beautiful tasting room that makes it feels like you are outdoors because of the open view of vineyards. It was stunning. Also has a cozy area with a fireplace. There is a patio to take your wine and relax with their awesome view. I have to admit that my taste buds were a bit altered so everything were tasting terrific. I did love their Pinot rose wine. It was from the barrel. It was very refreshing. The man serving the wines was very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Eileen K.

Yelp
I'll start with the wine first, it was just okay. Nothing special and not worth $20 for a tasting. Now on to the covid precautions - I understand it's hard and everyone has different comfort levels but the tables were not 6 feet apart (didn't even look like they removed any tables from the patio) and it was very crowded. When I asked if we could move to less crowded area of the patio, I was made to feel very uncomfortable and as if I was being ridiculous. It wasn't a pleasant experience.

Jen F.

Yelp
I was visiting one of my favorite wineries, Balletto, when they recommended that I check out Fog Crest down the road. Fog Crest opened after I had already moved out of the Bay Area, so I had never visited this spot before. Overall, I'm grateful for the recommendation, and will definitely be hitting this spot up when I'm in the area. Finding this spot can be a bit difficult, as the font color on their sign isn't terribly distinctive, so GPS is your friend for finding the correct entrance. Once you're in the tasting room, you'll find big windows with lots of natural light, a couple small sofa seats, as well as a small bar area. If the weather is warm, most people might opt to plant themselves in one of the patio seats, which boasts some beautiful vineyard views (see the many yelp photos already posted of said views). The tasting was $10, and offered 4 wines (though we could revisit some) as well as some delicious bread and olive oil. If you're in the mood for extra snackage, the menu also offered a cheese plate for purchase. Our tasting had 2 chards and 2 pinot noirs, though it looks like they sometimes also offer a rose(?). If you find yourself in the area, definitely check it out! With the friendly service, good wines, and lovely views, you'll be glad you did.
