This is my go to spot. The atmosphere is perfect. The drinks are crafted well. Haven't had one i didn't like. The Swan Song is my favorite drink. The flat breads are my fave. It does get a lil noisey when crowded, but then there outside seating option. Food does stop early so if you want a late night snack this isn't it.

Google
I love the variety of cocktails and how the menu is organized by spirit. Honestly everything I could ever want in a cocktail bar: a fun variety of drinks that I couldn't make at home because of all the little flavor additions, friendly staff, beautiful interior, and a variety of seating/table options. I will certainly be returning and am interested to see how often the menu changes out.

Google
Enjoyed the vibe and paloma - my friend and I were able to get seating without reservation on Friday night. Unfortunately didn’t enjoy the penicillin. We had staff checking in on us a little too frequently; felt like we were expected to get more drinks or to close out and leave.

Been here several times and the drinks are always nice and strong. They didn't announce the last call on the kitchen on our last visit. A bit of a bummer as the food is pretty yummy and goes well with the mixed drinks. Oh well. The ambience is sweet. My coworker isn't a big fan of the orange dreamacicle. I wouldn't even order one with that name.

Google
I've gone a few times to give this a fair shake. For a craft cocktail bar, I haven't had a drink yet that I couldn't make better myself. It gets fairly loud because of all the hard surfaces, and can be even louder if you have "excited" people (would really benefit from some sound tiles). On a more memorable visit, I was served water with a fly in it.

Google
A delightful and much needed addition to downtown San Mateo! Lovely atmosphere, warm and elegant. Our server Dani was welcoming and attentive and explained their fav old fashioneds with both insight and enthusiasm, much appreciated. The Welcome Home and Like Old Times old fashion were sweet and savory lovely blends of flavor that proved complementary and delicious. The corpse reviver 2 was also a great flavor blend. We really enjoyed our cocktails and are planning a return visit soon!

Been meaning to visit, but always seemed to be too short on time to enjoy it, finally had a chance to drop in yesterday and it was definitely worth it. To start, the renovation from the prior establishment is fantastic. It's so bright and well appointed, if you'd been here before, you'd never believe it's the same place. Secondly, the staff were incredibly friendly, answered all our questions, and made some great suggestions for those who weren't super familiar with the things on the menu and how they might taste. Thirdly, the drinks themselves were excellent. Even if you get one that isn't quite to your taste, it's easy to appreciate the care that went into crafting it, and the presentation. That being said though, all the drinks we had were excellent, so I look forward to working through the menu over time and enjoying the rest. Well worth dropping by if you have the time to enjoy the drinks (and snacks)!

Google
Excellent cocktails, very friendly service. Creative menu with lots of innovative drinks. The only drawback is I don’t understand why last call is at 8:30 on a Thursday night! By 930 they had turned all the lights on! I think this cocktail bar is operating on Eastern time.

Yelp
Drinks: 4 out of 5 Thoughtful crafted cocktails. My only critique is having freshly brewed espresso for espresso martini over a bottled liquor. My friend enjoyed his Paloma, no notes. Service: 4.5 out of 5 Sat at the bar with two bar tenders available One of the bartenders was friendly & she engaged in a nice conversation with my friend and I. The other was meh, he didn't care much to talk. Environment: 5 out of 5 Cool ambiance and plenty of seating at the bar and tables. Dim lights and nice decor. Overall: 4.25 out of 5 I would probably come back with a friend and grab a drink. Currently, not really somewhere I would stay past 1-2 drinks.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place but their host(?) needs to change his attitude otherwise they're going to lose more customers. Half our group arrived first and sat at the bar. When the remaining 2 showed up, we got a lecture that we're technically not allowed to stand at the bar because everyone needs to have a seat. We were one seat short. Aren't we at a bar? I've literally never heard of this in my life. When a table opened up, we headed over because we figured they could transfer our tab since this is a bar after all. Instead, the host said in the most sassy, rude (and unnecessary) way, "Uhm excuuuse me???" And rolled his eyes. He then proceeded to tell us that we are not allowed to change seats and are only allowed one seat/table for the night, which were the bar seats we were at. So I guess that means technically we can leave, then walk right back in to get the table big enough to accommodate our group? Make it make sense. If it wasn't for his unnecessary attitude, we wouldn't have been so upset and would actually want to come back. But now we no longer feel comfortable ever coming back. As someone who has worked in customer service for many years, I am shocked we were talked to this way. Someone working in customer service shouldn't have such an attitude!

Yelp
This used to be one of our favorite cocktail spots until last nights experience. Over the last year the service at the bar has gotten worse and after last night I don't feel comfortable returning to this establishment. When we first arrived it seemed full so we asked if we could grab a drink at the bar and put our names down to wait for a table. The host/server seemed annoyed with us from the moment we walked in. Since it was going to be a long wait for our group size which we totally understood we decided to just grab a quick drink at the bar since we loved the cocktails here. My husband said it felt like servers were purposely bumping into him because we were sat at the end of the bar where the drinks were coming out. We order our drinks with the male bartender and we see multiple drinks being sent out thinking he needs to make those drinks first before getting to ours which was fine. The bartender then walks to the back and I assume he's grabbing something he needs to make our drinks. A female bartender comes up and asks if we need anything and we tell her that we already ordered our drinks with the other bartender. We wait a bit then asked if the original bartender was returning and she said he went on his lunch break. We were shocked, how are you going to take a drink order, not tell your partner, and just walk away knowing that customers are waiting for their drinks? We decided after that point to just leave. As previous servers / bartenders I could never imagine treating customers this way. We felt like we were an inconvenience to them for trying to grab some drinks. If you're too busy to service customers then don't seat us in the first place. We left feeling like we did something wrong when all we wanted was to grab a drink.

Yelp
The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The service here was great and they always checked in on us. The place is modern and cozy. There's variety of drinks here and they were delicious. I enjoyed both their cocktails and mocktails. The drinks didn't take too long to come out either. They serve water to you as well which was nice. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped by Fogbird for the first time on Valentine's Day. We did not have any reservations and got lucky with the amazing service. We were seated right away with a private corner table. The restaurant's interior design felt cozy as the lights were dim. I had the Angry Birds cocktail and he got a Shirley temple. I would recommend making reservations!

Yelp
Fogbird is a hidden gem in downtown San Mateo and a must-visit for cocktail lovers. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between trendy and laid-back, with its stylish decor and intimate atmosphere, making it a great spot for a night out. I tried the Coronado, and it was fantastic! The flavors were bold and refreshing, with a subtle hint of citrus that made it really stand out. It's clear the bartenders here take their craft seriously, as the drink was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Their menu offers a lot of creative options, and the seasonal drinks are worth exploring as well. The staff was friendly and attentive, offering great recommendations based on personal preferences. They also have a selection of small bites to enjoy with your drink, which is a nice bonus. Overall, Fogbird is the perfect spot for anyone looking for expertly crafted cocktails in a chic, cozy setting. Whether you're looking to try something new or just enjoy a great drink, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Came here for pre dinner drinks on a Thursday and had a great time. It wasn't too crowded, and we got a table right away. Cocktails are $15-16+, and the menu is pretty extensive with specialty cocktails and house favorites. I think anyone would find something they'd enjoy. Service was helpful and attentive, we had a super friendly server. It is definitely a treat to come here, so I feel like a happy hour would be an awesome addition to their offerings!

Tien N.

Yelp
This is my second time here, and I forgot to write review the first time. For my recent visit, they switched out to a new cocktail / mock tail menu to welcome the fall season. My hot alcohol free drink has more spices that match the chill weather. My friends enjoyed both the Paloma drinks. There were orders of whiskey cocktail as well (unfortunately I forgot the name but the aroma was very good). The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. They would give recommendations based on your liking. We didn't order food this time unlike the last time. However, I remember the food was pretty good as well. There is no happy hour here, but with the service and quality of food / drinks, I would totally suggest you to visit.

Amy L.

Yelp
Stopped by here for drinks after dinner and it's such a cute & aesthetic place. It feels so cozy and comfy here -- a great place to grab drinks and talk with your friends. We sat on a booth area by the front window. The staff was really nice as well. I got the Orange Dreamsicle which was delicious. Definitely tastes like an orange dreamsicle and it actually masks the the tequila taste well. But it didn't feel that strong so maybe that's why you don't really taste the tequila lol. Still delicious though. The Espresso Martini was so gooood. Strong, sweet, and packs a punch. Actually came back here a few weeks later for drinks and it's still such a vibe.

Iris H.

Yelp
Love the ambience of this place! What's not forgettable is their bar snack: pretzel sticks( so warm and chewy with salted crust and sauces)! This will definitely make me come back. The drinks are not bad either. We got swan bird and espresso martini. However, the espresso martini is on the sweeter spectrum compared to the others that I have tried. I prefer more of a bitter espresso martini but this may be right up your alley if you like a sweet dessert cocktail!

Michelle T.

Yelp
A cute lounge in downtown San Mateo with drinks and appetizers. I love the variety of cocktails on their menu and I thought the shareable apps we ordered were delicious as well. My group of 10 were able to walk in at 5PM on a Thursday and were seated immediately. We spent about two hours there and the space never felt too crowded or busy. In fact, there were only two other parties there. Drinks are a bit pricier, but not bad for downtown San Mateo. I'm not sure if Fogbird gets busier on a weekend night but the seating inside was pretty limited, and it seems like more of a "stand around and drink" bar rather than a place you would go for a nice meal. Will come again if I'm looking for a cool evening spot to hangout with friends!

kim k.

Yelp
We had a fabulous cocktail hour at this elegant new place in San Mateo with a lovely atmosphere and knowledgeable and attentive staff! We enjoyed delicious old fashionds in several varieties, guided by our great server Dani. Chips and salsa were a nice compliment. Atmosphere is beautiful and elegant. Can't wait to come back!

Nathan Y.

Yelp
Fogbird is one of the best bars that I've been to! When you walk in, the first thing you'll notice is that the atmosphere is very cozy, with candles at every table and dim lighting throughout the bar. The seating is very comfortable, and it's usually quite busy! Not only is the vibe great, but the cocktails are really tasty as well! There is a wide variety to choose from, and we enjoyed all of the ones that we ordered.

Yelp
Fogbird is a cocktail bar located on South B Street in downtown San Mateo. They opened a couple years ago and aim to be a period of relief similar to when you breathe in the salty Northern Californian air. Their cocktail menu is separated by flavor profile: carbonated, shaken & refreshing, and spirit driven, stirred & stiff. Further back they also have house classic cocktails, altogether encompassing a very comprehensive list with a lot of variety. My first drink was the eyes of the osprey ($15) whose specs reminded me of a scotch daiquiri with green chartreuse. It was balanced and smokey at the end from the Ardbeg. My second drink was the angry bird ($15) which was citrusy and creamy from the coconut cream. It definitely had a tiki flavor to it. The decor was warm with the brick along the back wall and the large light spheres dangling from the ceiling. It was a cool spot for some nicely-made and delicious cocktails and the service was good too.

Minh-Uyen N.

Yelp
My friends and I came here on a Friday night with reservations at 6. We were quickly seated with the menu. It was a busy night so the service was a bit slow. Although the place has a very classy ambiance, it was very loud. My friends and I were practically yelling in order to hear each other. The drinks we got were good. I really enjoyed my milk punch and thought it was very well crafted with the perfect amount of alcohol.

Molly G.

Yelp
really love the cocktails here, brought a couple friends and they loved it too. Great service and a cute atmosphere. Great location.

Lucy L.

Yelp
Good place for drinks. Nice decor. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We wanted outdoor seating but their server for the patio had already finished his shift so we sat indoors which was fine but just noisy. My companion and I ended up just texting each other because because we couldn't hear amidst the noise. They have a respectable offering of cocktails, wines & beers and bar food here. The cocktails are the stars of the show here. We had the Eyes of the Osprey and the Corpse Reviver #2. Both were good. Cocktails are on average about $15. We didn't order any food but the table next to us ordered garlic fries which was served in a generous portion. We appreciate this place and that it has a nice ambiance.

Yelp
Fogbird has always been one of my favorite cocktail bars, but I haven't been in some time. After dinner on a Friday evening, kids wanted Somi Somi. The line at Somi Somi was out the door and moving slow so what does mom and dad do? We grab ourselves an outdoor table next door at Fogbird and mom orders a drink. The server was super nice and offered to turn on the heat lamp for us. After getting their desserts, the kids joined us at our table and the server comes back to see if anyone else wanted to order. He jokingly mentions our table of 2 suddenly became a table of 7 and even offered to turn on the other heat lamp for us. Another server came by to check on us a little later. The Fogbird staff made us feel welcomed the whole time even though only one drink was ordered. Exceptional team and delightful cocktails are the reasons I love Fogbird!

Robert W.

Yelp
Cute and trendy bar in downtown San Mateo. Cozy atmosphere with plenty or bar or table seating. Very nice and eclectic cocktail options including signature drinks, house cocktails, and nice selection or beers and wines. Bar bites were delicious too especially the warm spinach and artichoke dip. Would definitely come back.

Cindy N.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday night for quick drinks. This place is really cute and the ambience is perfect for a date night! They also had a lot of different options to choose from for cocktails, including a mocktail selection. The place is small so it seems to get packed quickly

Kristina P.

Yelp
The bar itself is super cute, love the decor. When we arrived they said the wait was 90 minutes so we went to grab ice cream next door. When we came back we got seated and started checking out the menu. I'm not sure if it was cause it was the end of the night or what but our server was so rude. We went around to order drinks and my husband was last and while he was about to order, she just walked away. He didn't even get to order his drink. We waited for quite some time and got our drinks, my husband finally got to order his at this time. When we got our check, we were looking at it so we could figure out who we would be sending money to and how much since we put it all on our friends card, and the same waitress came back and just grabbed the check from us. The drinks were pretty good but the service we receive was just not it.

Sandy L.

Yelp
Cute modern area to grab drinks with your friends in the San Mateo area. Service was sweet and quickly accommodated our big party of 8 during a weekend. Their drinks are also pretty strong and tasty. The white winged dove was yummy!

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Drinks 5/5 Definitely a spot for all drink lovers alike. I like that the menu is thorough but the bartenders are still able to make drinks off menu. The menu also includes non-alcoholic drinks as well which were fun to try and let's everyone enjoy a little something. Location 5/5 The downtown location is perfect and offers a nice atmosphere. The bar is well decorated and the street outside is closed to traffic. My team came here on a wednesday and it wasn't too busy. When tables get full, there is a queue for new customers coming in. Doesnt hurt to make a ressy if you have a larger group. Food 3.5/5 The food was decent, but definitely not a place I would go to get a proper meal. The food is mainly bar finger food. A bit of a sticker shock for me, but the food menu has a good variety. The fries tended to be on the drier side (total guess is that its oven baked and not fried) but who knows.

Denniz S.

Yelp
I've been here 6-7 times and try different drinks each time. Their cocktail options are quite extensive and I've never been let down on balance, flavor, and presentation. Fogbird is the perfect place to start or end a night out.

Pearl T.

Yelp
Drinks taste really good we will definitely come back and try more drinks from the menu! Our drinks were ready within 5 mins so it was pretty quick. We really like the wallpaper and the layout of the bar.

Venus L.

Yelp
Fogbird's been on my fiancé's radar since they first arrived in San Mateo, but we've never been since I'm not much of a drinker. Well, fast forward to this past weekend and we were hanging with some friends and wanted to check out Fogbird after dinner. We didn't have any reservations, but a group actually left right as we got there so we were able to be seated promptly which was nice. I didn't take a peek at their menu, but we got whiskey sours for the whole table and it was my first time having it with egg white on top, although one of our friends said it wasn't made as frothy as it should be. There's one bathroom in the back and it was very clean. The service, and our waitress, was friendly and helpful. Overall, the ambiance is good, albeit somewhat pricey as 5 drinks cost us $85.

Max P.

Yelp
Great drinks and ambience, but touchy service with attitude, specially the guy with the face tattoos.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
This is the bar I dreamed of creating myself for years and now I can just enjoy all of the hard work the Hunsaker's and their team put into creating an amazing cocktail and bar bites destination! The cocktails are varied, seasonal, and so tasty. I've only tried two of the dozen+ bar bites (the French fries and the crispy hen of the woods mushrooms) and they hit the spot. We attended one of their whiskey tasting and old fashioned making events and it was great. Learned a lot and enjoyed some excellent whiskey. As you can tell I'm a huge fan, this is my destination when I'm enjoying a night alone or with my wife or friends. I loved the Hunsaker's last downtown San Mateo restaurant (31st Union) but I love their latest creation even more.

Linda H.

Yelp
4.5 stars really! Lovely and lively. I've been a few times, by myself and with friends, and it's great either way. I've been with just me and a book on a weekday (pre dinner time) and it was lively but not distractingly so. Drinks are fairly strong and the interior is nicely decorated. Another time was with a friend and we spent maybe two hours talking and catching up. There's a good mix of people: colleagues grabbing drinks after work, first dates, friend dates, older folks, young people, etc. -- it's a nice combination of people who come in. Staff is welcoming and they don't rush you to order or try and kick you out. Lovely!

Harrison T.

Yelp
Came here with a friend recently to hang out for a few hours and I'm glad I got to check out this new cocktail bar! It was fairly busy when we came in on a late afternoon with most tables being filled up! Service was great here with the staff being prompt and checking in on everyone to make sure they were enjoying their food and drinks! I got the Pacific Paloma and my friend got the Angry Bird. We also ordered the Spinach & Artichoke dip to munch on. We both enjoyed our cocktails and they make a great paloma here. It was refreshing and tasty. I liked the Del Maguey Mezcal they used which made it quite a strong cocktail. I tried my friend's Angry Bird and that was also great. I enjoyed the addition of pineapple and coconut cream to the rum blend. Both of our drinks were carefully crafted and I could tell the staff enjoyed making the drinks. Fogbird is a great cocktail bar for a nice hangout or date and I would recommend coming here if you need a place to wind down and enjoy some time off!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a date night! The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a long menu full of diverse options. It feels like you're transported out of San Mateo and into a cozy New York bar. Only thing that docked points was service. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Nil G.

Yelp
Trendy cocktail bar! I've been meaning to visit here for a while, it was always closed when I passed by it. Finally tried last weekend. Nice venue, prompt service. I tried Angry Bird and Corpse Reviver No. 2. Corpse Reviver was ok, nothing unusual. (I make it better). Angry Bird was refreshing, I'm quite interested to try the other cocktails in the menu. Note: they also give cocktail classes.

Roger D.

Yelp
Nice spot to grab a drink of 2 when in the area. We had just come from AYCE sushi down the street, so just needed a place to walk it off & enjoy some cocktails. They had comfortable couches & lounge chairs for us to relax on. I enjoyed my Irish Whiskey Old Fashioned. They probably need another bathroom though, as 1 gender neutral option isn't enough for a bar lounge I would think.

Guy L.

Yelp
Thanks to all the team at Fogbird for doing an amazing job last night. We rented the whole place out for a private Christmas Party for our friends and the whole evening was fabulous from the wonderful cocktails and food to the outstanding bar staff and servers. If you are looking for a place to host a party, look no further than Fogbird. It's the best!

Jocelyn R.

Yelp
Delicious drinks and solid appetizers! I love the place it's cozy, intimate, and has great energy. The bartenders know how to make good drinks and they use quality ingredients. Love the service and highly recommend for a date night or after work drinks.

Jaky Y.

Yelp
Been to Fogbird a few times now and it's always a good time. They currently have a special menu of Lunar New Year drinks in addition to their regular items. Their milk punch is quite good. As to be expected with San Mateo downtown, they get busy during peak hours and their prices are $15-$20 for one drink pre-tax/tip.

Alex L.

Yelp
Indoor modern ambiance Outdoor seating + great weather Selection of delicious signature cocktails Awesome service, Thank you Kassie

Edwin S.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere, good food, and great service on the coolest street in downtown San Mateo! (What more do you want in a bar??) I was here with customers and colleagues and Sammi (bartender) took great care of us. Definitely trust her recommendations (if Sammi is there) otherwise ask for the signature cocktails, well worth the price!

Tiffany L.

Yelp
I was so excited to hear there was a new cocktail bar in downtown San Mateo. However, my 2 experiences at Fogbird were disappointing. 1st visit was a Wednesday night about 30 minutes prior to closing. Service was friendly and fast, but the cocktails tasted extremely watered down. 2nd visit was a Thursday evening after dinner. We were a group of 6, including some visitors from the East Coast. We were seated in the back corner lounge area. The server was friendly, but it took her over 20 minutes to come over to our group and take down our orders, and another ~30 minutes for our drinks to be served. On the plus side, the drinks that night tasted better than before and were decently strong. Our group did not appreciate the automatic 20% service gratuity for such a long wait time. I wish we could order at the bar instead of having to wait for a server to come to us. It is cute and roomy inside, but the inconsistencies with the drinks and the poor service makes me not want to return.

Katherine T.

Yelp
Cute spot to have a drink. Their cocktails are interesting. Nice vibe here. Very convenient location with lots of restaurants nearby.

Tony M.

Yelp
I got the old sparrow and it's perfect! Very lively ambiance. Packed and great music. A perfect date night an place to get a well made cocktail. Service is amazing.

Peter C.

Yelp
Noticed a new cocktail bar opened on South B Street at the old Tiki Bar in San Mateo, so my friend and I decided to check them out. I arrived around 10pm on 12/8 and left our phone number and name under James with the waiter. We were told the wait would be 15 minutes to be seated and that they would give us a call to come back when they are ready to seat us. After going to a neighboring bar and fast forwarding towards their closing time at 12am, we never received a call back after roaming around the area. What's the point of having a waitlist if you're not going to look at it, it's just easier to seat people as space opens up or offer the bar. I'm not sure if they review or open their waitlist for outsiders, but I guess they only welcome their friend to their space as the owners stated. Was definitely harder than getting into Fogbird on a Friday night than a popular nightclub.

Joey W.

Yelp
I love the vibe of this place so really wanted to like this place. Service was lacking - our server (female but don't know her name because she never introduced herself) was extremely rude. When we first sat down she said "ready?" and we thought we misheard her so said "sorry what was that?" She repeated "ready?" again. She seemed annoyed. I was honestly surprised since we had just sat down. Fogbird Paloma - thought I would get more of the grapefruit. Overall, cocktail was very watery. The Land of Eternal Spring - I could get more of the watermelon. Overall this drink was less watery than the other one.

Roxy N.

Yelp
Stopped by without reservations early on a Friday evening. I called ahead to see if they were pet friendly and they are! Awesome!!! Sat in the window and had a great time. Sam helped us out and she was awesome! Drinks were strong and delicious, I had something with blueberries and it was tasty!! Ambiance, service and the appetizers are all great! We will be back!

Derrick G.

Yelp
Went on a friday night with a reservation, service was really slow ik it was a Friday night... but we were rarely checked on and I thought the drinks were very very average for the price of almost $20 I would've expected a little more. I wasn't surprised by anything here the aesthetic was alright looked better online and when it's busy the space between the tables are crowded and too close together. Just my opinion on this place, may have to give it another try when it's less busy

Angela L.

Yelp
I came here for the first time ever with a group of friends almost two months ago. It was a weekday evening and we wanted to try this place out before dinner. We were seated at a table against the back wall and the place was full of patrons already at around 6pm. The interior is simple but cozy with red brick and warm wood furniture throughout. The bar pretty much occupies all of the right side of the hallway shaped space. Our friends had arrived about 20 mins before us and they were still waiting for their drink. It wasn't too long before I realized that the poor young lady was the only staff on the floor taking orders and delivering them to the whole place. I ordered the La Quinta Lemonade and it was ok, a bit pricey for what I received. I'm not sure I would come back in the future, and especially if they only have one waitress during the evening hours.

Anju J.

Yelp
Husband and I went for drinks to Fogbird on a Saturday night. We loved the interior (though i thought the lights on the bar were too intense and could be made dimmer for a more cozy/classy setting). There was plenty of seating and the server was super duper sweet. We were hoping to get some food but we reached after the kitchen closed - the server was nice enough to say that we could bring in food from outside (which was awesome because now we could hang out at this cool spot for longer). We tried 5 cocktails among us and the fav was swan song. The cocktails were pretty stiff and felt like they were made with great ingredients. I did think some of the drinks could be colder but overall definitely a great addition to SM downtown!

Ben H.

Yelp
Came on a busy Saturday night and it was really fun. Drinks are quite tasty and I really enjoyed their spirit forward drinks. I'm a sucker for good negronis and the Grey Matter did not disappoint. It was the two bartenders last day so we got a special shot of tequila and it was probably one of my favorite tequilas. Drinks: 8/10 Service: 7/10 Experience: 8/10 Value: 6/10

Amy D.

Yelp
If you're looking for unique cocktails with creative names, look no further then Fogbird! I'm slowly starting to warm up to cocktails (I'm more of a beer, wine, or whiskey on the rocks/straight up kind of person), and I appreciated that Fogbird had a large variety of cocktails to choose from. They weren't busy on a Thursday night at 8pm, and I tried The Land of Eternal Spring (Herradura Silver Tequila, Campari, Watermelon Syrup, Lime, Boy Drinks World Serrano Bitters, Spicy Salt Rim, $16, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=k_NTGRrsduMAzWpfnXhayQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg). I've been avoiding tequila for a while, but the Herradura Silver was really smooth. All of the components of this cocktail worked well together, and it wasn't too sweet. The spicy salt rim was a perfect accompaniment, and added a nice contrast. I ended up going for a glass of wine after, and the cab ($14/glass) was jammy and smooth. Service was great, and their servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I'll be back to try their other cocktails! Some staff were wearing masks despite the mandate being lifted. Only indoor seating was available, but their ceilings were high and we were spaced apart from other customers. Parts of B Street are still closed off to cars, so you'll need to park on nearby streets or at the lots available throughout downtown San Mateo.
