We had a reservation to celebrate a birthday, and this was our first time trying Fogo de Chao at the East Bay location. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience when compared to the Fogo in SF. Check-in was quick, but once we were seated, we ordered drinks from our server, and they never arrived. The food was overly salty, and the chefs were slow with the tableside carvings. At certain points, we didn't see any staff serving meat at all. The Market Table was decent and offered a wide selection of seasonal salads, fresh veggies, cured meats, and other dishes. Aside from that, our server never checked in with us, and we didn't see her again for the rest of the evening. When it was time to request the bill, we waited 40 minutes, and no one came. Eventually, we had to walk to the reception desk at the front and ask the staff there to bring our check. It's unbelievable to want to pay and have absolutely no one assisting you.

I love this place so much! The staff are super nice, the food is great and the portions are so generous. Personal favorites are the Queijo Assado, Beef Rib, and Saucy Chicken Legs. If you sign up for their loyalty program, you can get awesome rewards like this lobster and shrimp dish 😋

I celebrated my dad’s 70th birthday at Fogo de Chao in Emeryville. Everyone went above and beyond for our large gathering. Scarlet answered all of my questions to plan the event. The manager on duty that night John Bo accommodated me with any changes I made to the reservation and I was able to drop off cakes and balloons. And last but not least JAYDIN & Adrian were our servers who wrapped up the whole experience with a SLAM Dunk! They didn’t miss anything and were just cool and smooth!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We love this restaurant and the lovely staff our server, Sofia was an absolute joy! She greeted us with a radiant smile and such a positive energy that lasted the entire evening. She was incredibly patient, attentive, and quick to help with anything we needed from answering questions to handling requests with ease. Her amazing service truly made our night special, and we can’t wait to come back soon.

Pretty typical experience for a Brazilian steakhouse. Service was fairly good with some pleasant interactions. The main thing holding this experience back for us was just that the meats weren't especially flavorful. Maybe someone complained at some point about something being too spicy or too salty and they over compensated by making everything too bland. Who can say. Still basically enjoyed our meal but for the money it would have been nice to have more flavor.

Google
Honestly disappointing the waiters' service. Honestly, I have a question, if you don't feel like serving, why do you work as waiters? The waiters simply ignore me and my partner, they took 20 minutes to serve us, to give us our table of TWO! It took 20 more minutes. I didn't like the service or the atmosphere, everything takes time to fill, GIVE MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR CUSTOMERS FOGO DE CHAO!!!!

Today is our 8 year anniversary and the THE ENTIRE STAFF was polite and courteous to help us out. We just got here and was broke! The food was delicious! The steak, sausage, bacon wrapped chicken and even the salad bar had EVERYTHING! Lentil soup, black beans and.rice and of course every fruit and vegetables you can imagine. Thank you!!!! WE appreciate you!!!

We had a grat time. My wife and I went here for our anniversary. We had a great time. Food was delicious. Ambiance was great. For dessert we got a plain cheesecake with strawberries and Tres Leches cake. We were shocked that the tree leches was not dry or overly sweet. It had fresh fruit and balanced flavor. Our server, Niurka, was friendly, on top of the service, and thoughtful.

Yelp
Came to celebrate my birthday at Fogo with my cousin, and we had a wonderful experience! I want to highlight how good the customer service was and how attentive all of the servers were. A special shout out to Jamba for checking in with us every once in a while. He really made us feel well taken care of! He was super sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend coming to Fogo if you are celebrating something special! The food was also so delicious, oh my goodness!

Yelp
Forgot de Chao Team, Thank you for a night to remember! Jamba showed my wife and I the party area and explained the different possible configurations. We asked lots of questions regarding decorations, setup, dining experience, and food service. All of our questions were answered, and he was an excellent representative of Fogo de Chao. As for the dining experience and service - WOW! The market table was delicious and the meats were cooked to perfection. Several staff members came around multiple times to check on our needs. We were a little embarrassed with all of the attention, as we felt like we were the only customers in the restaurant that mattered. Omar made sure we had everything we could ask for, and he surprised us with a few lobster tails, which were the best I have had! I'm not familiar with the process or system you use to train your customer service team, but it works! I want to use your system at my company. We could see the teamwork and people stepping up to help others wherever needed. Meats, marketing table, and that test leches cake. Five out of Five syars! Again, big mahalo to Omar for the Five-Star service, and to Jamba and all of the many others who made us feel so special. The food was outstanding, and the service was even better. We are excited to bring our team to for our annual Party in December. They are going to feel so valued! I hope Omar is part of the team that night, too! Thank you again for a wonderful and memorable experience. Big Mahalo to Scarlett, Jamba, Omar, and everyone else that made us feel so special. God Bless you!

Yelp
Shoutout to our gaucho, Daniel! Was celebrating my birthday and got to the restaurant at around 9:40pm for a 9:30pm reservation. We were seated promptly and directed to the market table, where we selected a few bites of fresh fruit and sides - didn't want to fill up too much. We were welcomed back with a table full of appetizers, with the cheese bread being a particular standout. But the real star of the show was, of course, the meat, from which we particularly enjoyed the rib-eye and juicy lamb sirloin. Our gaucho, Daniel, really made the experience. Although we'd arrived just before closing, he prioritized our table, ensuring that we had a taste of everything. In addition to recommending and supplying us with his favorite cuts, he eagerly brought out seconds. When my friend sought papaya to cleanse her palate at the end of the meal but found the market table closed for the night, Daniel went above and beyond, bringing out an entire papaya quarter for her leisure. The meal ended with a complimentary dessert (we ordered the bruleed cheesecake) -- such a sweet touch. Overall, while the food and ambience were wonderful, it was our gaucho, Daniel, and server who made my birthday meal truly memorable.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience tonight. Was able to get a reservation for a family of 4. We were sat right at our reservation time. Food was great. The servers were very prompt. Tons of food going around. The sweet potato soufflé was absolutely delicious. I went back for seconds. The turkey and cranberry sauce were good too. What a great way to spend today, not having to cook- but being able to enjoy time with family. The desserts were delicious as well. Crème brûlée and the chocolate cake was fire!!!!! Definitely recommend! Even for the price, it's worth every penny. The ambiance is great, cozy and comfortable.

Yelp
Once again, I'm reminded about chain steakhouses: they are not all the same. I had been to the Fogo in San Francisco and one in Southern California and, while not the best Brazilian steakhouse I've ever been to, both were excellent. The Emeryville location left a few things to be desired. Service was very uneven. It took a long time to get my first drink, and then an even longer time to get my second drink. I couldn't understand why it was taking so long when I saw a number of people working at or near the bar. At one point I actually went over to the bar to order a glass of wine because it was taking so long to get a drink. They did keep the water glasses full, for which I'm grateful. They brought the Brazilian cheese bread and plantains midway through the meal (odd as those are usually starters). Staff was very friendly and very nice however. I really liked the people who were helping us, they just needed better supervision and organization. The salad bar felt like it was missing something or other. The layout is awfully disjointed. A friend reminded me that this Fogo used to be the PF Chang's location so maybe the Fogo people were in a hurry to open this location and didn't change the layout enough to make it flow more easily. The steak was good, although again it was very uneven with the service. One or two pieces as is usual at a Brazilian steakhouse was over salted which always makes me reluctant to continue eating. When steak is that salty, one figures alternate problems: either the chef doesn't know how to cook, or they're hiding older or bad meat. The happy hour Malbec was excellent. Great deal. Overall, it was a decent experience, I did enjoy my time. There were just all these little things that added up to making me wonder what was really going on. They have some work to do. I probably would not go again to this location -- workingman's gourmand

Yelp
I had really high hopes for this place and came to scope it out for a Christmas party for my employees. My wife and I did the full churrasco and ordered some drinks. When I went up to grab the plates from the buffet line the first 10 I grabbed had food stains and looked dirty. It was a huge turn off but I found a clean plate in the stack and continued with my meal. The market spread was impressive and fresh. The citrus salad was the best I've ever had 10 out of 10. Their smoked salmon and salami looked questionable. After I had the salmon and salami I felt sick and went to the restroom. The restroom was so filthy it made me ever more sick. You would think that for $70/person they'd had cleaner facilities. Fogo De Chao tries hard to look like an elevated or luxury dining experience but it's far from it. About 30 minutes had past and I never got my drink. When I inquired about it my waitress told me they had run out of the beer I selected. At that point I was already unimpressed so I just asked them to remove it from the bill and to refill my water. Water was another pain point for me. When we got our plates from the market buffet we did get our water so we were eating without anything to wash it down and had to ask for water. Let's get to the main reason why we went their the full Brazilian Churrasco experience. I've been to a few Brazilian Churrasco restaurants and let me tell you this was the worst one. I'm not sure if it was the time of day or their experienced cooking staff were on vacation or break but the meat was either way overcooked or way undercooked. I only had a plate and a half and decided it was in my best interest to stop eating. When we were ready to leave but after waiting 20 minutes out waitress never came. We were able to flag down another waitress to get our bill for us and lo and behold the beer that was on my bill that I never received was still on my tab. This was an annoyance I would have overlooked but after waiting for my drink, eating food that made me sick, and waiting for my inattentive waitress to bring me my check I was extremely irritated. You're better off going to Espetus or anywhere else for a decent Brazilian meal. Just to recap: Service was poor Food was not great and got me sick Atmosphere had potential Bathrooms disgustingly filthy Value for money; none.

Yelp
Always great place to get your craving a steak fix! Lol You control the flow of incoming food! Live the cheese bread! The also serve polenta stick and mashed potato and fried bananas! We had the our favorite the filet served twice! We also link the lamb chops and lamb picana ! I have been to many other locations and this is one of my favorites ! I will continue to dine at this chain of fine steak offerings!

Yelp
Sooo I made reservations a month in advance for my family to dine here for Thanksgiving and it was by far thee worst experience ever.. they completely overbooked.. The wait time on top of having a reservation was 1.5 hr; on thanksgiving there aren't too many alternatives and we opted to eat out instead of cook at home this year.. once finally seated the experience was sub par, they packed so many tables in it was not enjoyable and at a certain point the servers stopped coming around with meats, I'm guessing in order to get you out. The salad bar was a wreck but to be expected with so many people coming in and out.. I've dined in Brazilian steakhouses previously but this was not the experience I was looking for.

Yelp
Was super stoked to try Fogo de Chao after years of wanting to see what the hype was about with Brazilian BBQ. My partner and I came here for an anniversary lunch date and were able to try the $44/person lunch special churrasco ( basic All you can eat) which is a pretty good deal for the quality selection that we would be able to try. We had a reservation and was seated quickly on a Friday afternoon once we arrived. The interior is well organized and lively, a big step up from the P.F. Changs that was originally there. The waiters were very kind and got us started with how the set up works: open salad/appetizer bar and servers will come with big skewers of different selections of meat to carve for us table-side. We were enamored by the gorgeous Feijoada bar options - we took some salami/prosciutto, roasted cauliflower, salad, corn, peppers, etc - we had to stop ourselves short remembering that this would just fill us up before the meat came. Waiters also came around offering some mashed potatoes, fried polenta and platanos, and their famous Pao de Queijo cheese bread which was incredible, arguably better than any restaurant bread I have had; yes even better than Red Lobster's rolls. The star of the show was obviously the meat. Every single option they gave us was fantastic. From roasted chicken, lamb, ribeye, parmesan crusted chicken, linguica, we were amazed at the smoky richness that each subsequent meat offered to our palate. However, the Picanha top sirloin illustrated why it is by far the favorite for Brazilian bbq. The balance of fattiness and meatiness had us asking for 2 more servings after our first try - it was that good. I honestly could come back and ONLY have picanha and be very satisfied. Incredible first experience and am excited to continue trying more Brazilian churrasco in the future.

Yelp
Came in today just for bar bites. Ordered a few $1 Caipirinha's (yes $1 on tuesdays) and crispy yuca fries and queijo assado. The servers are super nice and do a great job. The crispy yuca fries were in fact very crispy, yet super soft inside, they do the thick cut style. Comes with grated parmesan on top and a side of malagueta aioli. The quijo assado is a favorite bar bite of mine here, but it was super busy this Tuesday and the item did not come out fresh or hot, the cheese wasn't as melty and gooey as usual and came out a bit harder and colder than I prefer. Lovely with a side of the malagueta honey that is included.

Yelp
Delicious, savory meat on meat on meat! Came to Fogo de Chão in Emeryville and had such a great experience. My favorites of the day were the Picanha (of course), the cheese with honey, and the cheesecake brûlée. The salad bar was beautifully presented and had a great variety. The kiwis and persimmons could've been a bit riper. Shoutout to Sarah and Justin for making our dining experience even better--super friendly and attentive! This place is a solid spot for celebrating something special. Or it might just be one of those protein-heavy days. Obrigado!

Yelp
When Fogo de Chao Brazilian steakhouse with one of my dinner groups this week and had a great time seeing all my buddies. The food was actually really good. I declined the salad bar and I also declined the steak but what I did enjoy was the Branzino and the lamb chops, which were served with a little mint jelly on the side. I'd recommend this location if you know what you like the Brazil came out excellent And I also enjoyed a couple of old fashions which were really good as well. I'd recommend this location if you know what you like the service was great. The ambience was excellent. Our server, waitress and the drinks and desert were also excellent!

Yelp
Zerooooo stars. Do not come here. Do not come here. Do not come here!! Apparently open table will let anyone reserve even if there are NO tables. The space was PACKED. My son was SOO annoyed. And 40 min after our reservation we were not seated. As you can imagine we were unable to stay..unless we wanted a huge meltdown. So yes do not come here. Save your money. Save your time. Go somewhere else . HORRIBLE!! See image for the call I got 1 hour and 44 min after my reservation. Lolll lesson learned never again will I come here.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a 545 reservation and didn't get to sit down till 715. This was terrible and I would have never eaten here if I knew this was the case. The food was also very mediocre. The salad bar looked messy and it looked like things were laying out all Day. The meats were tough and chewy. The picanha prob was the best - for the price you pay definitely not worth it.
google avatar

Tatiana C.

Yelp
Not going to make this a long review but they can definitely work on speeding up the service! We waited 30 minutes for some glasses of wine & then another 30 minutes for our second round! The meats were coming around super slow to where bout time they came back aound I was hungry again. Yes our wheels were green the whole time we were there. But I can say they were very accommodating to the fact I brought my 3 month old son. The waitresses & waiters were super friendly with him! I would go back but maybe not on a Friday! Could've been a lunchtime rush prehaps?
google avatar

Yelp
Just another night of gross incompetence, impossibly long waits and total buffoonery by Fogo. We've been in this now for 45 minutes, and YES we had a reservation...for 45 minutes ago. Been to others and it wasn't this bad, there are serious problems at this one.

Yelp
Tonight was nothing less than amazing! Cassie and Jamba were a solid 5 stars, both very hospitable and friendly. Continuously checking in and making sure our party was doing well. Thank you so much for making tonight so memorable! We will definitely be back

Yelp
I starved myself all day just for this experience. Having been to a Brazilian steakhouse, I remembered to ease up on the salad bar just to load up on the proteins. The cuts were plentiful, but I gotta admit, some were better than others, meaning just ok. I don't remember exactly what was what, but some cuts were dry, while some were a little too salty. Not a deal breaker though. They also have a set menu if you choose not to go Brazilian. The ambiance is beautiful. Great for a date night or get together with a group of friends. Staff was also great. Very polite and attentive to everyone.

Yelp
When it comes to steakhouses, there are no doubt many good ones. But a Brazilian Churrasco is so different from a traditional steakhouse. Being able to have 15 cuts of all-you-can-eat meat hot off the grill, along with mind blowing seafood, fresh salad and produce, charcuterie, and feijaoda is a meat lovers heaven. That's what Fogo De Chao is... Meat lovers and seafood lovers heaven. On this occasion I tried to consume as much as I could: Feijaoda: 7.5/10 Charcuterie: 7/10 Salad & Fruits 9/10 Crab Cake: 10/10 Lobster Tail: 10/10 Caipirinha: 9/10 Pao De Queijo: 9/10 Mashed Potatoes: 9/10 Meats 9/10 Ribeye, Picanha, bottom sirloin, and lamb being the stand outs for the steak cuts for me. Staff were incredible, my server Jojo and the manager Aurora along with all the staff made my visit memorable. The dining area was classic and modern, and cleanliness were all 10/10. A must visit and I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
We came to Fogo de Chão for brunch to celebrate a Virgo birthday (actually three Virgos in our party) and while some parts of the experience were enjoyable, others left us disappointed. The Market Table was the highlight. It was colorful, fresh, and overflowing with options like fruit, salads, charcuterie, salmon, and prosciutto. The lamb and picanha steak were absolutely delicious, and the pão de queijo (cheese bread) plus yucca fries were also big hits at our table. My tip is that you need to go to the Market Table with a plan, because if you don't you will get overwhelmed and end up full of random choices that may not even be worth it. Unfortunately, the cocktail experience fell flat. I ordered a Bloody Mary that came with tequila instead of vodka, and it was easily the worst I have ever had. For th cost, it lacked the lemon, lime, and extra olives I asked for, and I could not even drink it. Service was another weak spot. While our server was pleasant, the gauchos (meat servers) did not pay close attention to the service disks. We often had to flag them down when our disks were green, and when our disks were red they still approached us with meat. For a place charging $80 to $100 per person, I expected more polished and attentive service. At the end of the day, the food quality was good, but the service and drink experience did not live up to the special occasion or the high price point. With a bill of nearly $800 for six people, we left feeling underwhelmed for what was supposed to be a festive birthday celebration. The ambiance was cute. It was roomy and we'll lit. The restroom was clean and we'll stocked. (3/5)

Yelp
Last time we came for their Churrasco where we stuffed ourselves with all kinds of grilled meats. This time, we decided to try the rest of the menu. We tried the Chilled Lobster and Shrimp platter as our appetizer. The Roasted Bone Marrow (so good). And finally, the Dry-aged Tomahawk Ancho (ribeye). It was more than enough for two adults and a 13 year old. We had a giant "doggy bag" to take home. My dog was thrilled with the tomahawk bone. We arrived at 2pm just as they shifted from lunch menu to dinner (recommend coming at 1:30 or 1:45 to take advantage of the price delta). Service was a bit lacking as there was a shift change. Recommend not coming between 2:30 to 4 when they have a gap in service.

Yelp
i came here for my birthday & the service was honestly so bad .. we were a group of 6 people who were sat at 6:30 , served at 7:30 but out of everyone in the group i didn't get my correct food until 8:45pm ... i felt like the whole time i had to double check, ask for a waiter and it ended up being frustrating for everyone. jojo & matt saved the night & for them im overly grateful! the location in san francisco is honestly the better choice if you dont mind crossing the bridge!

Yelp
Hands down one of the best places to host a private event. Combine the delicious market buffet offerings with exceptional service, with a fully stocked bar what more can you ask for? I hosted two weekday corporate events here at the Emeryville location. I coordinated my events with Scarlett, who was super responsive with a keen eye to detail, was by far one of the best planned events I've hosted. Again, service by the managers Mauricio and staff were exceptional. What I liked most: the market buffet had everything I love on my plate. From hearts of palm to the carefully curated charcuterie selection, I was in heaven. Then the meats came out. From the sirloin to the beef rib, you literally cannot ask for more. Desserts were also delicious: cheesecake, chocolate mousse, tres leches, and key lime. Def recommend Fogo De Chao Emeryville for a special dinner or large party, they can do it all.

Yelp
This was my first time at a Brazilian Steakhouse and the experience was one to remember. The night started off very strong with the waitress coming around with honey cheese and prosecco for the waiting guest. I went with a party of 7 and we were seated in about 15 minutes. It was Saturday night so extremely busy. The waitress was very nice and sort of explained how it all worked. We explained we did not eat pork and she said it wouldn't be brought over to the table, but it was several times, which was fine because we just told the guachos no thank you. The meats came steadily except if you have a preference for well done steak it's a bit hard to find. We had to keep asking the guachos to come back with more well done meat, which took a while. There were servers who came around asking if we were getting everything we wanted. However at the end of our dining a guacho with chicken had come by that we had not seen/ known about all night. It would have been nice to have some sort of meat checklist so we knew what to expect. Another things about the meat was that it was definitely on the salty side. After about 2 hours me and my party all tapped out. The restaurant had a nice vibe to it. The salad bar/assortment of sides were very good and well stocked. That was definitely a nice addition to the steak. Our servers made sure to keep our waters filled which was very nice. Overall interesting first experience, but may try a different Brazilian steakhouse in the future.

Yelp
Came here with a party of 7 (1 senior, 2 adults, and 4 kids). Menu is not the most kid friendly if you have kids over the age of 6 and don't do the all you can eat option. The burgers we ordered for the kids took a really long time to come out so that was a disappointment. By the time it had come out, we had to give my son some of our food to tide him over and then he didn't eat any of the burger. The meats are hit or miss but I will say the servers were friendly and nice. The cheese puffs are delicious, as were the plantains. The salad bar is okay as others have said, but next time I think we would order a steak to share and try their other menu options. Place is upscale inside but the lighting was lacking at our table to read the menu so I recommend they ensure all the tables have lights.
google avatar

Yelp
There is parking structure across the street. $3 per 2 hours. Ambiance is nice. We reserved a party of 13 and they require half of the party to arrive before they can sit us. $80/person, unlimited salad & fruit bar, some beef are dry, including filet mignon, lamb is good. Honey cheese curd is good, they offer Brazilian cheese balls but we needed to ask for them. Cocktail is good and they offer All Day Happy Hour, $10 for cocktail and $8 for beers. They offer birthday desserts as well. Jaydin and Kumari provider great customer service.

Yelp
We had a 7 PM reservation on Thanksgiving. We arrived around 6:50 PM and when my dad went to the host station to check in, he learned that the restaurant was 45 minutes behind on their reservations. Although this was not the news we wanted to hear, we appreciated the complimentary cups of Prosecco they handed out while we waited outside with everyone else. We ended up getting seated around 7:45 PM. Our server was very nice and apologized that we had to wait a while for the table. We appreciated his kind gesture to comp two desserts for service recovery. I am giving 4/5 stars, due to the long wait. The food and service made up for the unfortunate arrival experience. We will be back!

Yelp
So I came to check out Fogo de Chao on today after church because I heard someone rave about it. Now I didn't take any pictures because ultimately if you've been to one Brazilian Steakhouse you know what you are getting into. This review is based on the service or lack there of for the amount of money I paid for two adults and a 13 year old to eat!! It left a lot to be desired for me. From the moment we walked in! We decided on the spot at about 1:20 so I used OpenTable to make a reservation and look at that they had a 1:30 availability. We arrived at about 1:29 and advised the host she saw the reservation but told us it would be about a 5 minute wait! I'm always curious as to why there is a wait when you see tables all over the place available but ok! The thing is I overheard her tell one walk in group of 3-4 people it would be a wait for walk ins ( but there was tables available) and as I watched I saw another walk in couple get seated immediately, even before me with the reservation!! but after close to ten minutes we were seated. Now the atmosphere was really nice and classy the place looked good for brunch or dinner first date or anniversary! It was legit. But again the service didn't match! The menu was actually kinda confusing they have the normal BSH offering but they also have a bunch of other things you can get. The waitress didn't take time to really explain the menu, as they have brunch, all day happy hour, and legit steak options. And neither did she really explain what we would get paying $60 or $80 dollars. Now to the food they had the regular meat options but I swear bacon wrap chicken came around about 10 times and the beef ribs came by once! I made a special request and yet it never came back around! They also had what appeared to be a Parmesan chicken or something of the sort and I only saw it from a distance the server never stopped at our table! So again lack luster in the service department. The salad bar was very limited in my opinion. While it had a lot of stuff, the options were very few! Like how many different options of lettuce do you need? They had a lot of things to put on the salad but I'm used to more options. But to sum it all up the food would get 4/5 the service was a 2/5 and when the bill comes out at $250 yeah I want to leave feeling like I receive 5 treatment for the money I paid!

Yelp
As opposed to other reviewers, our service was good. We never had to wait long for another meat item to appear, we counted ten in all with our "basic" selections. The salad bar had lots that I wanted go try, but I resisted so as not to fill up before the eats arrived that I wanted to try. We did not order any sides or desserts. Disappointed that a couple of meats were too rare for me to enjoy and that the lamb chops were too well done. Note: The ambiance was nice but kind of expensive if you are not a big eater.

Yelp
Not sure what's going on with this location but the service (waiters) are not the best. We've been here about three times and this will be our last unfortunately. We always order the crab cakes first thing and for all the times we've been here, they've "forgotten" to put it in their POS. Mind you - we typically do reservations early and there were about 4 other small parties in the building. We even had to ask them to bring the cheesy bread and the hot sauce/chimichurri sauce like it's not a given to provide it as soon as possible as part of the sides. Only providing the two stars for the wonderful service staff at the meat department. Very attentive and catered best to our needs. This restaurant is close by to where we live but I'd rather just take the extra couple of miles to go to Galpao in SF or Brasas do Brazil in Concord for better service and bigger selections for other side dishes (candied bacon, etc.). Save yourself some time this holiday season!

Yelp
Food was ok but wait services left a lot to be desired. Marketplace cheese/meats was not replenished and soda/water refills were sporadic; table meat service basically quit after 30 minutes. Front of house was chaotic with a perishable food delivery sitting in the vestibule for 30 minutes and staff just standing around blocking patron access to the walkways. IMO, not worth the trip from WC.

Yelp
I came here for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. I did make a reservation even though we went on a Tuesday afternoon, and it was pretty empty. The selection at the salad and fruit bar was just okay. I've been to plenty of Brazilian steakhouses, and this one is pretty bare compared to others. Not very much selection for fruit. The cuts of meat were pretty good, and we had someone come up to us twice for any special requests. The cheesecake I ordered to end the meal was really good. All in all I don't think I'll be back. There are other Brazilian steakhouses that I would go to.

Yelp
What a feast! This place has limitless options, good service, and good flavor. It might be too much for everyone here because it is hard to say no with all the good options to present right in front of you. I loved all the special meats and the salad bar. We were here to celebrate my friends' wedding, and they even gave us desserts for free. What a good place, I was so full afterwards. The place is elegant and has its own style.

Yelp
***4.5 Stars*** It WOULD be Fogo to get me out of this terrible Yelp hiatus, now wouldn't it?! Ya girl has been extra dryyyy with the review writing lately (don't judge me!). But lemme tell you what AIN'T dry... these scrumptious flippin' meats at Fogo de Chão! Y'all... Fogo has quite literally become my new baby. And I'mma be all the way real with you; I come strictly for the happy hour. It... is the friggin' BOMB dot mutha effin' com! I'm on this travel kick right now, and all of my money has been going to traveling as of late. So, ya girl is always looking for a deal when it comes to dining out. But Fogo?! Oh yeah... they've got it!!! First off, their happy hour is all day EVERYYY damn day which you cannot be beat. The portions are humongo and I always leave with a box. The bar is bright and beautiful, although a little weird with the setup (only 4 regular seats and 3 attached 2-tops). What's nice is that if it's slow, they'll let you sit in the main dining room. So, what about this happy hour has got me hooked, you ask?! That FILET! The filet mignon board. Just. DO. IT. NOOOOW! It's literally a full sized filet chopped up on a cutting board and served up nice with that addicting chimmichuri sauce... for less than $20! (Gasp). You heard me right. It's always perfectly cooked to my liking of medium rare and always beautifully presented. Also notable is their beef rib. Really delicious albeit a tad bit salt for my taste (I'd ask for no salt on the board if you want less salty). Aside from the meats, their happy hour bites are straight up hittin' too! Love, love, loooove their Brazilian cheese and honey and those delectable polenta fries. They give you plenty of Brazilian cheese bread at the bar too, so no need to worry about that. And the drinks! How could I forget? The yummiest caipirinhas ever! They've also got some other stellar cocktails on their menu as well as a nice selection of wines by the glass. The ambience is wonderful and what you'd expect of a Brazilian steakhouse. I love that I can get that Brazilian steakhouse experience without breaking the bank and while dining out solo too. I always end up meeting the dopest folks at the bar too. Service is where it can be inconsistent. I've been here a handful of times now, and 3 out of the 5 times have been met with slow service. I get it... it's a steakhouse. But, it hasn't always been busy. I feel like the servers and bartenders don't always pay attention to what's going on since most people are getting served by the meat attendants. So in all honesty, this probably should be a 4 star review. Rounding up because I truly enjoy the food and the ambience here. Just know that service could be slow when you stop by. Aside from that, this place is absolutely golden. It has become my go-to happy hour spot and I love it to pieces!

Yelp
Parking available, but in nearby garage. A little bit of a walk. Service was a little slow during the lunch hour. We had to ask the maitre d to have food servers attend to us. Not too many selections of meat were presented to us. The lamb was little too gamey for me. Salad bar was good, though not as big a selection as other Brazilian steakhouses. Ambiance was pleasant. Servers, hostess and maitre d were all professional in appearance. Overall it was nice but not spectacular. Worth a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
George, our server, was beyond amazing--attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. His service truly elevated the entire experience. He also made great menu suggestions. Upgrading to the elevated experience was well worth it. Thank you George! Manager Aurora was incredible! She personally came by to check in on us and made sure our filet mignon was brought to the table quickly and perfectly cooked to our requested temperature. That level of attention and care doesn't go unnoticed--it was top-tier hospitality. The food was perfection. Every cut of meat was mouthwatering, the Market Table was fresh and full of delicious options, and the entire vibe of the restaurant was warm and inviting. This place is amazing. I'll definitely be back again soon. Huge thanks to George and Aurora for making our night unforgettable!

Yelp
We made a Thanksgiving reservation several weeks before. They called us on Thanksgiving morning and said, "Please arrive early or else we have to put you in the back of the line"...kinda weird but okay...We get there at 5:30 for our 5:45 reservation. They said our table would be ready at 6. At 6, they said 6:15 and at 6:15, they said 7. So we left hungry and Thanksgiving was ruined. There were many other parties also leaving. They called us at 8pm and said our table was ready. A funny thing we saw was the manager handing out glasses of wine to people on the street outside, without asking for ID. Even funnier was that he had servers handing out samples. It was funny because I heard that they ran out of food and had to turn away all of their reservations at 8:30. Like, if you can't seat a party of three, WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO BRING IN MORE PEOPLE. Great restaurant to be on Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay. There are lots of fake 5-star AI reviews being posted here.

Yelp
I want to love this place because the employees are absolute gems. Some of the sweetest, most professional folks I've had an experience with in a restaurant. Truly. But I consider it an affront to the Brazilian steakhouse experience that I would LEAVE HUNGRY. I stayed for an hour and a half, most of the time spent looking around in bizarre confusion as to where the damn meat was. They without question have some throughput issues and oversold the churrascaria. I complained multiple times to the server, and while she was apologetic and seemed to try to get meat my way, it was clear that there was nothing she could do. All of this made the dining experience quite awful. And it was such a confusing and disappointing experience to leave this place while still hungry. I was not satisfied in the least. Mind you, we also waited fifteen minutes for a table _with_ a reservation. Yikes.

Yelp
I tried other Brazilian steakhouses before but never Fogo. I will say I was enthused by their cocktail menu. I got a strawberry caipirinha which was good. They somehow accidentally made us an extra one so we got the second for free which was nice of them. The stuff at the salad bar was alright, nothing that stood out too much to me. We got the standard churrasco dinners but were a little disappointed by the selection that was offered. It was a lot of bacon wrapped chicken or pork. Standard tri tip, chicken, picanha, some lamb but no grilled pineapple or shrimp. The little cheese breads though? Delicious

Yelp
Came to Fogo de Chao in Emeryville for their happy hour. I got the beef bone rib and the chicken drumsticks. Both were really good. The rib was tasty but pretty fatty. Not sure if it we just got an unlucky cut, but since a decent amount of it was fatty and we couldn't eat that, probably won't get it again. The chimicuhurri sauce was a nice touch and I liked how they put salt around the edge of the plate so you can decide how salty you want it. The happy hour $6 specials are a steal. The bone rib was about $15. Tip for anyone coming here, Costco sells $100 Fogo gift cards for $80. Makes it a much better deal. I'll try the buffet next time. It looked really good. Lunch is $57 and dinner is $80, so it's not cheap but I think it would be worth doing at least once. They also have a rewards program where if you spend $15 or more you can get deals like half off or even a free buffet. The place itself felt clean and had a nice classy vibe. It's darker inside which made it feel more like a special night out. Servers were friendly. There's an outdoor patio spot with fireplace. Parking was easy too, either in the garage or at the plaza half a block away. Overall good value if you come for happy hour. Buffet is more expensive but something I'd like to try in the future.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying Fogo de Chao for a special family event. We decided to place an order online for pickup. At the designated time I arrived and was told the order would be ready in about 5 minutes. 20 minutes later I was approached by a staff member to check the name on my order. . . which they then told me they hadn't received. Maybe my family member had ordered from another Fogo? No, her receipt said Emeryville. Maybe the order hadn't gone through? No, her card was charged. Giving all this information took some time, and then they asked for the specifics of the order, which I did not have; I wasn't the one who put the order in. So my aunt had to call the restaurant and give her order again while I waited. And waited. I was then told the food would be ready in 15 minutes. 35 minutes after that a staff member came to me with a bag of food and read the order to me. Me: "I don't know. What's the name on the order?" But there was no name on the order. At this point I had been in the restaurant for well over an hour. I told them, "it's food, I'll just take it." I drove swiftly to my aunt's house, about a ten minute drive, where we discovered the food was cold. It was our order, though! It's worth noting that the to-go menu has pretty small portions and my uncle's chicken was really tough (to the point of being hard to chew). If my entree had been warmer I believe it would have been tasty. The worst part of this experience was that never at any point did any staff member take any responsibility for the issues other than waiting 20 minutes to check on my order. In fact, when I was being handed the food they said again I need to be careful about ordering online because they have multiple locations. Since there were no apologies at the restaurant, I suppose I could start: I am sorry we ordered from Fogo de Chao. I am sorry that when I went to pay for parking (because you only get the first half hour free) that I lost my seat at the bar and had to stand the rest of the time. I am sorry that no one offered me redress of any kind for the hassles I encountered. I am really sorry I did not speak to a more senior staff member. I am very sorry multiple staff members felt the need to blame me and my aunt for mistakes we did not make.

Yelp
We went for lunch on a Sunday and the service was very attentive and I really liked how they explained things with everything that they did. The food was really good. There was some meat that I tried that was the best I've ever had in my life. The staff seemed like they were really into their job not just doing it. Another fun part is where they brought over a table with a small iron grill of some sort that had meat wrapped in gold foil that you could eat, and they grill it according to how you like it. At one point we had spilled some honey on the table and it was getting sticky. Towards the end when they're serving us coffee , they brought over some big cloth napkins to cover up the honey, so we didn't get all sticky. I thought that was good attention to detail.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at this location in all aspects. We came on a weekday afternoon for the lunch churrasco experience which was about $55/person. I came for a birthday celebration and they gave me a free dessert because of it despite using my birthday reward which discounted our meal already. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so we basically received special treatment when it came to getting cuts of the meat. Despite being the only ones, the service quality didn't diminish at all from what you'd expect. Saul was our guy for the afternoon, coming around with all cuts of meat options and allowing us to ask for specific meats later into our meal. His timing was perfect each round and remained attentive throughout the visit. Everything came out hot and fresh as you'd wish for. The salad bar was well presented as usual although we opted to stick primarily to meats this time. The roasted garlic was a highlight - I had a piece with practically every bite of meat.

Yelp
I had a very enjoyable experience at Fogo de Chão overall. The food and service were excellent--servers were attentive and the surf and turf was flavorful (although my lobster was a bit overcooked). The crème brûlée cheesecake is a must-try--absolutely 5 stars and now my new favorite dessert *chef's kiss*. The only negative part of my visit was my interaction with the front desk host. Not only did he curtly deny my request to sit at a smaller sofa table (saying "NO, it will take too long to clean and prepare it"), but he also came over to my table multiple times in quick succession, to the point that I finally asked him if I needed to leave. I was simply sitting with a full glass of wine, enjoying the ambiance, yet felt rushed and uncomfortable. I couldn't help but feel he was overall rude--possibly even prejudiced--since I did not observe him treating other tables the same way (and this is the reason for 4 stars). On a brighter note, I want to give a special shoutout to the Sistah with the blonde hair (I didn't catch her name) who was serving that evening. She checked in on me with genuine warmth and even surprised me with a complimentary dessert and coffee. The universe has a way of sending good energy when someone tries to throw yours off, and her kindness truly turned my night around. No one knew in the restaurant of the negative exchange from the host, so that's how I know the universe had my back. Despite the unpleasant interaction with the front desk host, the overall food, service, and atmosphere were wonderful. I will definitely return!

Yelp
Ruined our Thanksgiving. We couldn't get past the mob waiting for their tables to get to the front desk to check in for our reservation. I made our reservation weeks ago and they weren't going to be able to seat us for an estimated 1 to 2 hours after our reserved time. So disappointing! Who wants to wait around with 50 other pissed off Thanksivingers? Definitely a Thanksgiving my family will never forget for all of the wrong reasons. Would not recommend!
