Fogo De Chão - Review - Downtown - Nashville - The Infatuation

"You’re in for an onslaught of meat at this Brazilian steakhouse chain, the latest addition to Downtown’s Nashville Yards. You’ll pay one price for an unlimited amount of picanha, ancho, filet mignon, and various other cuts sliced right off the skewer and onto your plate. Included in the price: all-you-can-muster trips to their market sides bar for various salads, antipasti, and feijoada" - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

It’s a high-class Brazilian-style restaurant. People dress up to go there. As a Brazilian, I can tell it’s definitely tailored for the American audience. For example, they don’t serve chicken hearts—one of the most popular cuts in Brazil. The desserts are also adapted to American tastes, with options like cheesecake (which isn’t a traditional Brazilian dessert). They do have Papaya Cream on the menu, but it wasn’t available during my visit—and that was perfectly fine. I ordered a cafezinho to go with my dessert, but they weren’t familiar with the idea of a small, strong espresso. I truly wish they would hire a Brazilian baker to bring in the delicious desserts we enjoy back home—brigadeiro, pudim, passion fruit mousse, and so many others. That said, my husband (American) and I absolutely loved the experience. The prime meats were spectacular, and we will definitely be back. My comments above are mainly meant to help fellow Brazilians know what to expect. The price is on the higher side, but the experience is worth it. And a quick heads-up: be prepared to pay for parking. Make sure to make a reservation.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience! The steaks were incredibly flavorful, and the salad bar was fresh and delicious. The service was beyond great, Moe, Noel, and Saied were all very attentive and made our visit truly exceptional. The desserts were the perfect finishing touch, absolutely incredible!!! We’ll definitely be coming back!

Went for my birthday and the service was outstanding! Our server, Noel, was incredible and checked in on us every step of the way. The lamb chops, the lamb steak, the filet mignon and mashed potatoes were my favorite. Make sure to try the cheese and honey dish they bring around..idk what it was but my god was it good!

When you go to Fogo de Chão, you want to feel rich, classy, and taken care of like royalty. This place delivered. Our server Mina was the highlight of the night. He walked us through everything since we were first-timers, but kept it smooth and professional the whole time. The food was excellent. Service was excellent. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant, efficient, and worked together like a well-oiled machine. The market table and the meat selection were both impressive, and you could tell they didn’t skip a single detail when it came to presentation. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate an anniversary, a special occasion, or just want to treat yourself and feel like royalty for a night—this is it.

Google
We eat at Fogo every year for Christmas lunch. We usually eat at our New York location but chose to ate at the Nashville location this year. Not only was the food outstanding as always, but the servers and staff were so kind and helpful. We ordered food to go for our In-laws and really enjoyed the atmosphere, the people, and the food. Highly recommend.

Google
I travel frequently and have enjoyed Fogo De Chao in many different cities. This location in Nashville is the most flavorful, well seasoned beef! The Pao De Queso is light and fluffy perfectly made. The hospitality is unmatched. Huge shoutout to Sarah Briones! I was lost in the parking garage and she literally came to my rescue and helped me find my way to the best dinner Nashville has to offer. Thank you Sarah and thank you Luz for the exceptional service! I returned 12/26/2025 Would like to give a HUGE shoutout to Carol on her phenomenal service!! She made this visit awesome with her hospitality and service!!

Google
Five stars—truly, I’d give it ten if I could. The servers were not only skilled but genuinely delightful, making the whole experience feel special. The manager stopped by to ensure everything was to our liking, which was a thoughtful touch. And the food? Absolutely delicious. And the caprinho drinks - as seductive as they get. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish!

Google
Delivered an exceptional dining experience from the moment we walked through the door. The service remained superior throughout the entire visit-attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed. The restaurant itself is stunning, with beautiful decor, an elegant dining room and a gorgeous bar. Our party of five had reservations and all chose the Indulgent Churrasco Experience which included market table, feijoada bar, a meat selection enhancement and a dessert choice. The real stars, of course, were the perfectly seasoned, mouthwatering meats. From tender to boldly flavorful. Overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Fogo de Chao exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Yelp
Great service and amazing food! We definitely were not disappointed, we will be back and very soon. Thank you

Yelp
I made reservations with their AI assistant reservation for 6:45pm last night for a group. We arrived and they could not find the reservation but found a table for us. The service was very slow starting with the drinks and took 15 to 20mins for the waitress to get our orders for the buffet. The food was very good and the restaurant decor is beautiful. The service was not very good. Forgot our drinks, gave one small plate of mashed potatoes and the bananas and root dish for 6 people. some of us did not get to try, the waitress was not around to ask for more and the cowboys with the meat did not keep coming around and our cards were green. I asked about the grille pineapple and they said unless you made a special request they don't serve. The site lists valet parking available, but it is not due to construction. parked across the street a block away at the Pinnacle parking garage. They are newly opened so we will go back to see if they work out the kinks regarding service.

Yelp
Really nice restaurant with a really nice set up/ decor. I've tried Brazilian steakhouses before in the past, but this is my first experience with Fogo de Chao. I decided to do the full churrasco experience. It was about $65/ person. It's all you can eat, and it also comes with the cold bar that has some soups, salads, veggies, and a few fruit items. They had different people walking the steaks around to your table and they carve you whatever cut you want. I'm usually a ribeye kinda gal, but I felt the sirloin here tasted better and had more seasoning. The ribeye was kind of bland to me, but the good thing about them was that they walked some cuts to us that I didn't want, and I just asked for some ribeye and they brought it. The mashed potatoes and plantains were also served warm. They brought those out to us. My favorite items here were the plantains and the toasted cheese with honey. The cheese and honey were brought to you table side as well. They had a pretty good deal for their drink menu. Honestly would've ordered another drink, but we only saw our server twice. When we placed our drink order, which took forever to get, and then when he dropped our drinks off. He never came back to the table. In all, I didn't have a bad experience and would probably come back. I thought it wasn't a bad deal to get to try different things.

Yelp
I really hate leaving negative reviews like this but I feel the need to warn anyone who's a Fogo fan to stay away from this location. TLDR: Waitress never came back, we never got assigned a new waiter, never got drinks, were offered a gift card for our troubles but it was never activated so when we returned it wasn't honored. I'm Brazilian American so I've eaten at my fair share of rodízio grills. I've been to many other Fogo locations, so I thought I knew what to expect here. I was so way off base. The main issue here was the service. It took 45 minutes to get our Guaranás and that was after grabbing another waiter to get us some. We never saw our waitress again after placing our order. We ran out of waters and they were never refilled in the 2+ hours we were there despite asking multiple times. When our food that we ordered finally did arrive about an hour later, it was cold. As for the rodízio part, the night we were there it was about 10 minutes between every meat offering which doesn't sound bad but feels so long when you're there. I was willing to cut my losses and just pay and leave, but it took another 45 minutes to get the check after asking multiple times. In the time we were there we had 2 different parties at the table next to us sit down, eat full meals and leave. With all this in mind we never complained or anything, but the manager saw how visibly upset we were and the fact we were there for nearly 3 hours. He approached us and offered us a $200 Fogo gift card (terms said usable at any location) to come back and he promised it would be better. That's why I'm writing this review. He never activated the card, so when we came to a different location and went to use it, we were on the hook for another bill and the gift card wouldn't be honored. Fully feel scammed by the whole thing.

Yelp
I know this location just opened, so I'll try to be constructive. I've been to other Fogo de Chão restaurants, and this one fell a bit short--mostly due to the setup. There isn't enough space for the usual carts with multiple meats, so servers came around one at a time with single cuts. For the first 30 minutes or so, we mostly got picanha. It was great, but I wanted more variety. When we asked our waitress if we could get other cuts, her tone was surprisingly curt. She responded with "well, what is it that you want?" I was taken aback by the tone (she seemed annoyed), so all I could manage to respond was "something other than picanha." We eventually got sausage, lamb, and a garlicky beef, but by then I was too full on picanha to enjoy them (I never saw any kind of ribeye). The salad bar also felt smaller and less varied than other locations. The highlight was dessert--the crème brûlée cheesecake was incredible, with a caramelized crust on every side. Easily one of the best cheesecakes I've had. Final thoughts: I'd come back and give it another try (especially because I really enjoyed the dessert). With that said, I don't think this location will feel quite the same as the others. The limited space changes the flow and atmosphere a bit, but with time and some fine-tuning (i.e., not overlooking the customers they seat in the back areas), I think they can still make it an enjoyable experience in their own way.

Yelp
This place has very good energy. The service is not up to par from what I usually receive at other Fogos, but it is beautiful still and lovely. The food is always delicious and the seafood tower was great. The servers also went out of their way to find the homemade salsa and hot sauces for me. I really appreciate it! Def going back for the all day happy hour and delicious food. This one is also more beautiful than other fogos i've been to.

Yelp
I really liked this place, we walked in on a whim when we saw they were open (they really were not it was still a soft opening) but they were kind and found us a table anyway. It had been a while since i visited a Brazilian steak house but i was quickly reminded that I should have come starving! lol There is so much food you want to try and at least I could not try as much as i liked. The service was good, the only hickup we had was a hamburger we ordered that took forever (50 mins) since someone delivered it to the wrong table, but still, it was soft opening and thats when those things can happen I guess. They compt us for it and also 2 drinks so I think that was ok, but I was not the one that was waiting for the burger so... I will definitely come back hungry and try again when they have been open for a while. I liked the ambiance and I love the neighborhood as well.

Yelp
Let me tell you, Phil and staff did a fantastic job. We do Fogo in many states and this afternoon was fantastic. We will return and when the beef ribs came out that sealed the deal. Absolutely the best service, best food and great ambiance.

Yelp
Not worth it. Everything took forever from them bringing us plates to get started to passing around meat. There were long periods of time that we were just sitting there waiting for meat to come out. Most of the buffet bar was cold items. We ordered drinks and one of them had stoppers from the bar inside of the drink. We brought it to their attention, they took the drink, and never came back and said anything about what it was. We had to go find them at the bar, then they brought a replacement. After this mishap our waiter disappeared completely and we had to ask anybody who was around for help and to get the check. I bought a bottle of sparkling water and they tried to refill it with tap. Checking out also took forever. There were a couple of cuts of meat that were good. Some of the others were bland.

Yelp
As a Brazilian you can say I know what i am talking about. I have visited several Fogo de Chão and this is nit much different the atmosphere is nice and inviting. Service at this particular location needs some improvement, but will improve with the experience people are still learning the style of restaurant. The meats are good, have not been super impressed but the Picanha is still lacking salt on its first cut. The beef ribs have not been consistent the 5th visit was the best ribs i got, so as mentioned time will improve. Will come back to check on it!

Yelp
We have been super excited to try out Fogo De Chao. Terrible review so let's just get right to it. We got sat and they tried to upsell everything immediately. Offered Sparkling or Chilled. We chose chilled thinking it was tap. Nope, it was a bottle of still water. We let them know we thought it was tap and they told us they don't offer tap and you have to ask for it. Asked for 1 sweet tea, got 2. I glass was broken on the rim. They tried charging for 2. Bill had extra drinks, we were being charged dinner prices even though we're were given lunch menus and I asked to confirm it was still lunch. That would have been an extra $60 if we didn't catch it. They never came by with any meat you would consider premium. Filet, ribeye and lamb never came by. We had to request them multiple times. We figured they were trying to see if we would leave and give up before they actually had to bring it out Service: Cole and another gaucho with dreads were cool and friendly. Their customer service was good. We had numerous waiters and I don't think any talked to each other. One was dry and seemed irritated. The others never brought us refills so we were choking on our food the whole time. Food: Picanha: Best tasting meat to hit our table. Ribeye: Never saw it Lamb Chops: Kids liked them Filet: Worst filet I ever had. Tasted funny and texture was off. Fraldinha: Extremely salty on the outside. Inner piece was better. Pickled Onions: No bueno. Lacked flavor. Roasted Garlic: Ive roasted plenty of garlic at home. This just tasted like it was old. White Rice: It had lots of hard pieces. Charcuterie: Meats and cheese were good. No complaints. Garlic potatoes: There were 4 of us and it was probably a small serving for two. They were watery and just not really good. Cheese Breads: They were good On the way out there was no greeting, no door hold, nothing. They just watch you walk out. My wife's review: food tasted as if a hospital cafeteria was trying to be a steakhouse. For the amount of money we paid I'd go to Bourbon Steak or Eddie V's without thinking twice. The service was comparable to Krystal's and the food wasn't better than Texas Roadhouse. We left feeling like we got robbed

Yelp
While Fogo de Chão wasn't the OG Brazilian steakhouse (churrascaria) in America (that claim belongs to Rodizio Grill), it was my first churrascaria experience and you will always remember your first. Brazilian steakhouses are one of my favorite restaurants... where else can you find expertly grilled (quality) meats in unlimited quantities for a decent price? Sure I love steak, and Nashville is no stranger to steakhouses, but when all is said and done, you're paying upwards of $100-$200 per person and sometimes you're still left hungry. For me, Brazilian steakhouses are the best bang for the buck. Nashville has seen its fair share of Brazilian steakhouses come and go over the past few decades but only one of them really stuck around (Rodizio Grill) until it got it was blown up by the Nashville Christmas bombing in 2021. Since then, we churrasco lovers in the area have been grieving for their return. Fast forward to 4 years later, we have one again and it's top notch! I set my reservation for Wednesday of opening week. It's conveniently located downtown in the newly minted business park, Nashville Yards. There's still a lot of construction going on, but this area is definitely a must see. The restaurant itself is very classy, with ample seating in the dining hall with plenty of room at the bar for those wanting drinks and appetizers only. I've been to many of these types of restaurants but one thing that surprised me is the All Day Happy Hour featuring appetizers, small plates, and drinks. Furthermore, I'm shocked that the pricing for this is actually quite affordable and that's saying a lot for downtown Nashville, where it's common to find $25 mixed drinks. Parking here is kind of expensive, but they do have validated Metropolis Parking you can use to get a discount in the garage. Now the concept here is simple. You pay a fixed price (salad bar, full churrasco, or indulgent churrasco) and it's all you can eat. The indulgent churrasco gives you a choice of 1 of 4 enhancements (lobster tail, jumbo lump crab cake, bone marrow, or truffle butter) and your choice of dessert for an additional $20 more. You do save a bit of money by doing the indulgent churrasco vs buying it separately. If you feel like the all you can eat is too much, they do offer single entree offerings where you can just get a larger portion of various meats, especially ones they don't have off the grill, such as the Branzino (European sea bass)! The gauchos (the servers with the meat) will come around and deliver what they have to your table if your coaster is green. Flip it to red, they stop coming. At the time of dining, they had most of the meats on their menu. I'm sure it's a mix of supply, growing pains, and opening week. What was missing that I do like is the Torresmo (pork belly), Bisteca de Porco (double bone-in pork chop), and Costela (beef ribs). Everything else was on the menu. You have no idea how excited I am to have a Brazilian steakhouse in Nashville again. I went opening week, I have a reservation to come back again next Friday, then I have a reservation for when my brother's family comes into town, and finally I have a reservation made for my birthday later in October. You really can't beat the value of Fogo and if you've never been, you should come. You definitely won't leave hungry.

Yelp
Redemption! After about a month, I decided to revisit our Nashville Fogo to see if the problems I had experienced were corrected. My wife and I went on a Monday night with another experienced Fogo couple. Made reservation under their name so I wouldn't get any special treatment. Initially, things were pretty out of control at the hostess station. We checked in and no other customers were there then within 5 minutes at least a dozen other small parties showed up. There was a managers and two hostesses. Once we got seated, things went pretty smoothly. Our waitress was Kathryn. We ordered our caipirinhas and they took about 15 minutes to arrive after we asked her to check on them. I hit the buffet to grab my rice, black beans, and farofa. Beans were excellent and full of deep flavors. Farofa was overcooked a little. I prefer it not so crunchy and more powder like so it stays on the Pichana better. The thing that changed this visit was the gaucho attentiveness. One stood out in particular named Kether. He took the time and followed through with our requests. Kether could be a trainer for the gauchos at the Nashville location. Almost everything was pretty great last night. Exceptional were all three sirloin cuts, filet, and the pork. tenderloin. Ribeye and wrapped chicken were both on the border of jerky. Very dry and overcooked. Anyhow, I am quite happy to see the turnaround at this location and will continue to support them

Yelp
Top tier experience! Happy Hour prices are unheard of for what you are experiencing! Beautiful atmosphere, amazing customer service and boozy cocktails. Paige made sure I was aware of all foods I could have with my gluten free allergy. And OMG the Brazilian rolls to die for! If you're considering going it's a must! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
We had our Herald of Truth event here in the private dining room. The space was perfect for 54 people. We were treated so wonderfully by the management and our two servers that oversaw the event were top notch. Mina and Sean were both top of their game! All the gauchos did a wonderful job and the Market table as well as the desserts and Shrimp cocktail tasted amazing! Thank you for helping to make our November 1st event go so well!!! The space allowed for a large banner as you entered the room. Folks got their photos made there with our awardee for the evening, David Shannon. The screen and sound system worked wonderfully as well for the Power Point presentation. Nothing to complain about. I Highly recommend having your Event here.

My most favorite restaurant ever! The Nashville location is fantastic. It's beautiful inside service and food are impeccable.

Yelp
Went for thanksgiving lunch - Delicious food and fantastic service. We'll definitely be back. The restaurant is beautiful too. Great salad bar and meat cuts were very good.

Sharonda M.

Yelp
Service was absolutely terrible. We were barely served and all the meats we got were burnt and had absolutely no favor at all. We had a late reservation because that's all that was available and then they didn't even consider that at all. The kitchen was closing and we were left high and dry. We were even offered complimentary waygu and it was burnt. The drinks were awful. The only positive thing is the place is beautiful and our waiter we had for 30 minutes before he clocked out was great. Shout out to Noel, but for a first experience I give it no stars. Either change times of service or stop offering late reservations if they will be treated the way my party was.

Yelp
My wife and I were really looking forward to trying this place today for her birthday. We called around 4:15 p.m. to ask if we needed a reservation. The system that answered -- which we later learned was an automated AI, not an actual person -- told us that while reservations were recommended, walk-ins were also welcome. Since the only reservation available was around 8:00 p.m., we decided to head over at 6:00 instead, hoping to get seated earlier or at least wait a bit for a table. We drove about 25 minutes from La Vergne, parked downtown, and arrived around 6:15, only to be told they weren't accepting any walk-ins. The restaurant was in the middle of the downtown construction and inside actually looked fairly empty, but the host said they were expecting large parties later in the evening. It was frustrating and disappointing -- especially on my wife's birthday -- after taking the time to call ahead, drive downtown, and pay for parking, only to be turned away at the door with no options offered. We would've been happy to wait, but were simply told no. I understand restaurants can get busy, but the communication here needs to be much clearer. If the AI is giving out incorrect information, it's misleading for guests and wastes people's time. What could have been a nice birthday dinner ended up being a frustrating experience instead.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 2:30 PM and arrived on time, yet still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. After being seated, it took another 5-10 minutes before anyone came by to take our order. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Our server forgot my wife's entrée completely even after I reminded them a second time, it never came. Roughly 45 minutes passed before any of the gauchos began offering food, which defeats the purpose of coming to an all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse. When a different waiter eventually checked in and asked how things were going, I was honest: poor. Despite being a brand-new location with plenty of open tables and visible staff, the service was uncoordinated and inattentive. A manager was supposedly going to stop by, but no one ever did. Having dined at Fogo de Chão in Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Mexico, this experience was far below expectations and unfortunately because we live in TN this is HUGE disappointment. The issue doesn't seem to be staffing its leadership and training or lack there of. Unless management addresses these operational gaps and holds the team accountable, I wouldn't recommend or return to this location. Let's see if anyone responds to this review that's not sitting at corp location but actually out of Nashville...

Monica C.

Yelp
My family and I had our first dining experience at Fogo recently and it was amazing! We had the most attentive server named Kase, who made sure our drinks stayed full, and that the Groucho's kept coming to our table. He had a pleasant attitude and was professional. The food was delicious... loved the buffet! Finally I had the key lime pie and spline else in my party had the creme brulee which was delicious! Looking forward to returning soon!!

Yelp
Showed up with a 7:30 pm reservation made 2 weeks in advance for my daughter's birthday to have the hostess say they gave away the table because they were "too busy with walk-ins". They literally turned away a hungry customer with a reservation on her birthday. I've never seen such humiliating and heartless service.

Yelp
I loved everything about this place. Staff is nice, food is good, no complaints at all. :)

Yelp
Kenzie is amazing and provided exceptional service the entire night. She was very present and continued to ask if we needed anything else. In my restaurant expertise, she was the most amazing server I've had in many years. #GIVETHATGIRLARAISE

Yelp
1st time ever going to a fogo de chao restaurant showed up with my family and Added my self to the waitlist they said 4 hour wait, i said no problem, i got the text message confirming i was added to waitlist, 2-3 hours go by and i click on the link to check again and it said i had been removed, i called n they said it was to busy n the app automatically removed me, dont understand why they let me make the reservation if i went in person, also i got no type of message or notification that i had got removed, i wasted 3 hours of my time WAITING AROUND without any notification what so ever, very unprofessional, and unpleasant experience,

Hunter J.

Yelp
I had my first Fogo de Chao experience last month, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, but all of the staff were super helpful, offering background on the food and culture that made my experience at this restaurant even better. I thought everything tasted great, and I LOVED their caipirinha cocktail! I would absolutely come here again - especially for a nice occasion downtown.

Yelp
Food was really good. Gachos (meat servers) could come around more often besides that great experience

Vino D.

Yelp
Service was friendly but slow. Not sure if it was a staffing issue. Drinks took forever to get and we kept getting offered the same meats. The portion size was like going to a wine tasting and getting a tiny poor. The table behind us was complaining more than we were about not getting all the meats. Loss count of how many times we were offered chicken. I will say the food quality was good and again the staff were friendly. Hopefully, the execution gets better.

Dan P.

Yelp
get your act together! it is horrible. Meat cold. OVERcooked and service is non existent.

Julie H.

Yelp
We were charged for still water we did not order or expect, as we assumed it was regular tap water. Our glasses were even refilled with sparkling water without our consent. Service was slow throughout the meal. Overall, a disappointing and unprofessional experience.

Brett H.

Yelp
Had a great evening and spectacular service from Spencer and Paige tonight. There were not as many meats offered as some of the more established Fogo de Chao's, but what they did serve was very well prepared and tased great. By far, the service and engagement with the staff and management was excellent! I was surprised that the Halloween evening didn't fill up the restaurant as much as I would have anticipated, but it made it relatively easy to get a table. I'm sure it's a very busy site during other downtown events. Definitely well worth it and I look forward to coming back.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Fogo de Chão Nashville exceeded my expectations. The service team was professional and welcoming, creating an environment that felt both upscale and approachable. The quality of the meats was outstanding, tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I also loved the variety at the Market Table, which showcased fresh, high-quality ingredients. This is a dining experience that balances sophistication with comfort, making it one of the best spots in Nashville for both business and social gatherings!!

Food was ok. Service was not that good. Ordered an appetizer which never came. The "buffet" area had super stale croutons in all the salad options and many options were cold or just very old. The picanha was the best thing by far. Not super surprised by everything. I've lived in Nashville for a while and the restaurant standards here seem to be lower than other city's I've been. Spent 230ish was expecting more, definitely a one and done place. Best part of dinner was Handel's ice cream shop that was right outside!
