The Best Food on New Orleans’s Canal Street | Eater New Orleans

"Handsome gauchos delivering meat on swords, check. All you can eat steak, chicken, lamb and sausages, check. This Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, has been delighting carnivores since 1979, with the New Orleans location of Fogo de Chao opened since 2015. For about $50 it’s all you can devour, along with a sizable salad, grain and veg bar." - Beth D’Addono

First time at Fogo de Chão in downtown NOLA and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the service was top notch everyone was super friendly and helpful, especially since it was my first visit. We had to wait about 20 minutes as a walk-in party of 4. The vibe was classy but relaxed, and the whole experience felt special without being stuffy. The salad bar alone was impressive (and honestly could’ve been a meal by itself), but once the meats started coming around, game over. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, the picanha and lamb chops were standouts. The servers were super attentive, and the pacing of the meal was just right. Definitely one of the most fun and delicious dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Already planning to go back next time I’m in town. Five stars, easy.

Google
I really enjoyed the experience of the skewers with the meat on the table. The selection of meats they serve you is great and it tastes delicious. I’d just give 3 starts because when my friends requested for water the server put so much pressure on buying bottles of water when he asked for regular water. The server kept insisting to him by saying “wich one sparking or still water?” He again said just regular water and she came to our table with two bottles of water when we didn’t ask for it. I felt like she was forcing us to buy something we didn’t ask for. And what really makes me mad is that I saw the other tables with a different server getting just the water they asked for, REGULAR. Well, we decided to forget about it and spend a good time but our drinks came so late two by two and also the server just served the water and she came just once to take some plates from the table and we were still working on the food and she was ready to put the check on the table when we didn’t ask for it so I saw her and I told her “we are still working on our food” and she left with the check on her hands. Only thing I will say is that the manager there is a very nice person. She was the only one asking if everything was okay and we requested some cheese and honey and she came with it. We had to ask to her because our server disappeared during our stay. Just 3 times I saw her. When she pushed us to buy the two bottles of water she put on the table and when she took some plates and when she was ready to tell me I have to leave with the check. It’s sad because we really enjoyed the food, the sides they put in our table and the salad bar but the service wasn’t even good.

Google
Restaurant was nice, our server Sabian was great, this was my first time coming to this particular location (I’ve traveled to several others) the food at this location was actually disappointing- we even had some chicken that was raw (uncooked) and some of the steak didn’t have much flavor. Dessert was good, drinks were good but the meal was lacking…

POV: Visting a Brazilian 🍖🍗🥩🔪🥃Steakhouse for the first time 😋🤤 .. Ahhhhmazing! Excellent service, personable service, and though I don't know the name of the gentlemen doing the carving, they were great personalities as well. Knowledgeable of the meats they were circling with and were open to questions about the same. Our entire party was just about 20 people, and we ordered food & drinks. The food was superb, flavorful, smelled divine when you entered the establishment, and the salad bar and soup station seemed to be the basis of the churrascaria dining. They had plated dinner options as well, while our party selected the churrascaria experience. The restaurant was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. Each section of our table seating received separate checks, though altogether, our bill total was just about $1k. Outstanding luxury dining experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Fogo de Chão, New Orleans! Kristy was amazing. So friendly and attentive, and she went out of her way to entertain our kids. The salad bar had an incredible variety and everything was fresh, and the meat cuts were delicious with so many options to try. Service was fast and smooth the whole time. They even surprised our daughter with a complimentary birthday dessert, which made the celebration extra special. Will definitely be back!

Google
Our server Kristy was awesome. Great selection of meat and it kept coming. Great recommended bottle of wine. It was loud and we were far from each other. But I suppose the table’s big to fill it up. The manager and service were awesome as I had an issue with the check, and it was totally resolved because of a miscommunication. It’s sad to say, but this franchise had better service than most old school New Orleans fine dining places lately. Great job, we’ll be back

Google
We go 2 or 3 times a year, and its always good. Tonight was outstanding-we were in about 6pm. Staff were on top of everything. The manager was on the go the whole time, helping servers, helping tables; she was on top of everything, impressive and how you keep things running smoothly. Tonight yall were running on all cylinders. Thank you for a great anniversary dinner!

Google
My second time going there and everything was great as usual. Highly recommended and prices are very affordable and the food is very good. I love their mashed potatoes 😋😋 and the dessert is delicious too

Yelp
Great service, chance P. Is a first rate server. Loved the salad bar. Great main course and dessert. I recommend the cheesecake.

Yelp
The good suffers because of the bad. There were some really good servers here. The food was decent. And the butternut squash soup was fantastic. The bad completely overwhelmed the experience. Like - no menus. Use your phone. Ummmm but I came to dinner. So tell me about a special and it's all about what I can't have. But please. Tell me what I can have. Bussing tables with a cocktail platter. But let's not be reasonable and stack 6 plates and come back for more. No. Let's try to set a world's record for the number of plates we can lace around the edge, drop one that breaks and buzzes past my ear and hits a little girl in the back of the head. AND THEN CONTINUE TO DO THE SAME THING. But this time bend to the floor with a platter loaded with platters and trust that the customers will not tip the platter as they put 2 more plates on the platter. Chaos. But don't blame the hard working employees. Get yourself a manager who can hire well and train. The food was meh at best. But. We. Passed. A. Damn. Good. Time. And that's what counts. Total chaos and that was before they got busy.

Yelp
Decided to come here during Carnival. The location is right off Canal street on the ground floor of the JW Marriott. Despite that, it is pretty calm inside and was not that crowded. Unfortunately the food does not compare to the other Fogo locations I have been to. We had the full churrasco experience which included meat served table side and the salad bar. Salad bar was not full- but what was there was fine. The meat tended to be overcooked, and moreover was tough. I requested medium rare to rare, and often I was served meat that looked to be in the well done range. Silver lining was that the menu we were given showed dinner pricing- but we were only charged brunch prices when we arrived in the afternoon.

Yelp
The only good thing about this place is that it was accommodating for the reservation due to being 15 minutes lates due to trying to park. The meat rotation very slow and wasn't even cooked right. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
Ugh. I always want to fund something positive to say, but this is tough. Full disclosure, we never ate here. They were at least 1 hour behind on RESERVATIONS, and there was complete chaos outside and in the lobby. I felt bad for the staff, but there was no communication with anyone. Very poor management, and zero leadership. The chaos was confusing, which means nobody knew what was going on, which means tensions were high and people were startimg to take it out om each other and the staff. Afterbwaiting for about 30 terrible minutes, I went to check om our place in line, and it was still going to be an hour... even with a reservation! Truth be told, I had to imagine the food could only be asngood as the service, so we left.

Yelp
The management and servers were the best part of this experience. I understand that it is very hard to cook cuts of beef for groups due to preferred temp differences but I would have to say the majority of the cuts I received tonight were medium well to well and unfortunately that's a little too dry for me. Fortunately, my favorite cut of beef, the Picanha, was cooked perfectly and was melt in your mouth tender. The downside to this is that it is a cheaper cut of beef and eating only that didn't really allow me to get my money's worth. The Cheesecake Brulee was a really nice touch and was complimentary due to it being an anniversary celebration. Looking back, I probably should have just gotten an entree of Picanha. The sides weren't terrible (mashed potatoes, fried polenta) and I would give the caramelized plantains 5 stars by themselves. If you are wanting to experience high quality cuts of meat, cooked to your temp, you might want to look elsewhere. The interior was decorated beautifully and well taken care of. Linen table cloths and napkins as well as heavy silverware. Although the dress code is casual, it was disappointing to see men wearing sleevless shirts, hats and shorts at dinner. As said before, the experience was great and the service was exceptional (especially the manager).

Yelp
Most of us in NOLA are not big into chains and especially this close to the French Quarter but for a chain this place fills a niche that they do well at. This is definitely one of the main spots to eat mass quantities of meat in the NOLA region and is the best example we currently have of the Brazilian style steakhouse genre. Service can be over the top with being so attentive and frequent that it becomes nearly intrusive with going overboard with changing your plate out far too many times. If they pull back on the aggressive plate changing the service experience would be at a great level. I find the meat to be acceptable but on average trends towards too overly well done for my liking and they do attempt to accommodate your level of preference. The meat is brought at regular intervals but the servings were on the small sides at times. The food bar contains a decent selection of items if you want to expand your feasting beyond the carnivore realm and they have even more meat on that in the guise of salmon and ham. It is fairly priced during lunch while a bit on the pricey side at dinner and overall I think I would generally just prefer a nice steak but this establishment does have its moments when you are just in the mood for some debauched gluttony of meat. They also have a great 50% off the churrasco experience for veterans on Veterans Day that I've enjoyed and I really appreciate their support of veterans! Tip: The best meat I've had here to my taste are the lamb chops! My video review of Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse is here: https://youtu.be/OiBpREmGzYM

Yelp
Greatest Food. Service is amazing. My bartender, Fern just made my eating experience great. Before I go further, as a local, let me let you in on a little secret. Fargo has one of the best Happy Hours in the city. The food at this place is unlimited choice meat, salad bar and great side dishes for $62. But if you don't have $62 or you don't want all that meat......try this instead Order with Fern at the bar. A happy hour entree menu out of this world. Double lamb chops-3 but 6 for $15. Polenta fries $6 and more. THE best lamb chops ever. Burgers are amazing. My friends love the Prime rib. All of the this so reasonably priced The ambiance adds to the experience. You would not think so from the outside. It has an ""I'm special atmosphere. Great experience Groups come all the times for the Great variety of meats and food. But me, I plan to try everything on the happy hour all day menu. I just can't let go of the lamb

Yelp
Went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. If you like meat this is the place to go. Food was good, but the service was mediocre. It's not worth the price.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend came here for my bday dinner. It was such a beautiful experience. Our waitress was so attentive. Will be back.

Yelp
Had a great meal here tonight, everything was delicious. Chance our server was amazing and was really nice to interact with our 11 y.o. son. Definitely a great experience.

Yelp
I was not sure what to expect based on recent reviews but the food, service, and ambiance were are amazing. We were seating on time for our reservation, the staff was very attentive, the food was all very good, and the experience overall was great. I recommend trying it out if you've been considering it. Additionally, they have all day happy hour if that is something you are interested in. You should show up hungry, and be careful with eating from the salad bar & other appetizers/sides they provide as you can fill up quickly on them and not be able to try all of the meats.
google avatar

Boon C.

Yelp
For the dinner may be expensive but for the bar menu is very pleasant. We were there during the opening time at 11:30. The bar still available for the seat. Although is not the window seat but for good price food is good enough. We start with the BPQ. It is the pork rib with sausage. The sausages were well stuffed with good seasoning. The pork rib has BBQ sauce that good for marinating. We also got the lamb chops. Meat good to the bone. Definitely cook in right temperature. We also got crispy Parmesan polenta fries. Good cheese on top. Service is good for the bar

Yelp
This was our first time eating at this location. First, we had a reservation, but showed up early, and were seated. The "salad" bar is always a 5. The limeade was soooo good, but we didn't get many refills S they kept running out. Our servers started so strong. We brought in our child and she put in fries for him without being asked. The meat was on point. The gauchos were fantastic and even asked towards the end when we skipped pieces to wait for some more of favorites what we wanted. The atmosphere is always nice, and despite the drink hiccup it was great. I always tell anyone going to Fogo to go hungry. Great job.
google avatar

P. Steve C.

Yelp
Pretty good, I would certainly recommend if you enjoy meats and have a huge appetite. If you leave hungry it's your own fault. The taste of the meat was not always what we had hoped, except the rib eye and bottom sirloin. Wait staff was good. Had to wait 70 minutes to be seated even with a reservation but heck, it was Christmas Day, very happy they were open.

Yelp
We came here for Fogo de Chao's happy hour. There's a small but decent food menu with items less than $10, and a good selection of specialty cocktails that are $9 throughout the entire day. You have to be around the bar in order to order the happy hour items, but luckily we were able to snag seats within 10 minutes of arrival. We got the juicy leg, chicken sliders, and 2 drinks. The juicy leg was just a grilled chicken leg that lived up to its name with its juiciness, while the sliders were small, decent, and not too memorable. For drinks, I got the Jorge's sour since I wanted something strong. It consisted of 4 different types of liqueurs and was a calorie-bomb, but at least it looked pretty and tasted good. My friend got the strawberry hibiscus caipirinha which was surprisingly only 180 calories. It was definitely a lot lighter and healthier tasting. Overall Fogo was a good stop for good happy hour food and drinks!

Yelp
Updated again: REDEMPTION!!!! We came here and though our usual guy Renard wasn't there as requested, Chance was top tier! My brothers and I had hoped we'd have a better time and we absolutely did. The host and manager let us know that Renard was not there and did everything in their power to make sure that we received everything we asked for. It felt like the first time I went here: hot, seasoned food with excellent service. Definitely coming back for a fourth, fifth, sixth, ___ time.

Yelp
This Brazilian steakhouse really exceeded our expectations. The meats were delicious. Every one of them came out hot off the grill with delicious flavors. We were stuffed when we left! You get what you pay for. Their anti pasta bar was yummy as well, but make sure to save room for the meat!! Service was stellar, all the waiters and waitresses wait on you equally and I always had a full glass of water and a clean plate if I wanted one! The cheese bread was the best I had ever had from a Brazilian steakhouse. Mashed potatoes were not our favorite side. The plantains were good. We would be back! Ambiance is business casual.

Yelp
I always sitvat the bar when I come. Truly enjoy Jeremiah. He is absolutely amazing. Great server, phenomenal bartender, and compliments the dining experience. Today, I had the pleasure of having a new server named Ra and Jeremiah. They are a dynamic duo.
google avatar

Raeven S.

Yelp
The food was about a 7.5/10... many items was fresh and hot, but some meats were a little bland. The service was great, Sabian was our waiter and we definitely enjoyed him serving us! He was very attentive and had patience with us even though we dined at lunch right before "closing". We made a special request and it was fulfilled promptly. The ambiance is nice & definitely a nice setting for a date.

Yelp
gross I got food poisoning mid chew and I threw up in the table turns out the meat was raw and cold don't recommend

Yelp
On the particular day I visited the restaurant, I'd called prior to place a to-go order. I typically get my orders from Fogo de Chão delivered; however, I was right down Canal so I stopped in. I was told on the phone I either had to place an order online or go to the bar to order. Once I walked to the bar to place my order I was told I couldn't place an order. Imagine my announce at this point. Thankfully, Nick behind the bar was such a help! I explained my situation to him and he kindly called over a manager and I was able to place my order. While there I decided to have a strawberry lemon drop + the empanadas. My empanadas came out burnt so I received fresh ones. My friend ordered the saucy legs and they were so good. I love how they handled the issue while I was there. Food has never been a problem except for this one time but that was immediately taken care of. I would certainly I sit again.

Yelp
We came here on Christmas Eve and the place was decently busy, but not overwhelmingly so. The space for this Fogo is pretty large, spanning across two floors, so there seemed to be plenty of space and no need for a real reservation. The service was pretty spotty and inconsistent - I would say it wasn't as attentive as other locations for sure. We constantly had to ask for our waters to be refilled and upon requesting a certain dish to come out, it took them near over 20 minutes for one person to come by with it. A little disappointing, honestly. The salad bar was in a less than desirable state. The Prosciutto I got was extremely tough and dry - I don't know if it's because it was out for too long or if they served it like that, but it was quite literally inedible. The salads they had were mostly extremely soggy and never refreshed while I was there so it also made certain plates undesirable. The arugula pear salad in particular was just all wet, leading me to believe it'd be very difficult to actually eat if it was that soggy. The meat itself was cooked pretty well - I think everything was flavored nicely and pretty delicious in terms of the steak and pork. I personally enjoyed the garlic steak the most! Overall, I would probably look elsewhere for a nice steak dinner. The novelty of this location sort of pales in comparison to other locations of the same chain I've been to and the service left something to be desired for sure.

Yelp
We were able to get a table for 2 from open table at 6:30pm. It's really busy and there's a wait for all of the reservations as well. We checked in and were told 5 minutes before our time slot it would be a couple of minutes. I always take that for an estimate, as this is what they just say to guests waiting for their table. There are folks in the inner door from Canal as well as folks waiting in the lobby or hallway of the JW Marriott entrance. We ordered one full dining with all of the meats and one market experience. $101.27. Wow the market table looks a bit sparse and scant for $33, upcharged for thanksgiving holiday. Argh. We were greeted by Jason, the table host. James is taking good care of us tonight. We had a little dry spell with no meat coming to our table for about 5-10 minutes. The first meat out is the bottom sirloin and it's quite bloody. Garlic beef is next. Bacon wrapped beef, picanha, Ribeye medium rare. Turkey. Pork rib, not my husband's jam, top sirloin, pork sausage, bacon wrapped chicken and bbq chicken breast. I wasn't offered the cheese (melting cheddar) and honey, because I only ordered the market salad bar. What's up with that. The small chewy cheese bread bites are my favorite thing here. The malagueña peppers really have some decent heat. My husband enjoyed eating the meats with a piece of the malagueña peppers. Their fruit is pineapple and papaya, two of my least favorite fruits. Ate some kiwis, even though I was craving watermelon and raspberries instead. The squash soup is good, some chunky bits, but quite tasty and has some good kick to it too. Service was good.

Yelp
So first of all, there is no parking. Hotel only. Service is horrible. Don't get me wrong, very attentive but they don't bring what you need so be prepared to improvise. Bathrooms are dirty and not attended to so you are on yourown again. I think the place is expensive enough but you still pay $11.00 plus for dessert which is just microwave cake and ice cream. Not impressed at all. Will not go again if I can help it
google avatar

Treasure C.

Yelp
This place is nice. I like how different it is. I wish the food bar had better options. Sometimes if you want another piece of a certain meat you have to wait awhile. It's a fun experience but having been 3 times now, I'm a little burnt out. I would suggest giving it a try if you haven't though. It's worth it.
google avatar

Ilie S.

Yelp
Terrible... worst one I've ever been to... I have been to several Fogo de Chao and this one is the absolute worst... terrible service and all the food was horrible... they kept bringing out the same 3 different type of food.. and we paid the Easter brunch price of $66.50... I was embarrassed that I brought my family for Easter brunch here

Neil B B.

Yelp
The ambiance is great, the staff is professional and helpfu. The food and how it is presented is a work of Art. To the staff that made our visit the first of many, Mr. Chance and Mr. Ian. Neil B.

Yelp
Chance p. provided my husband and myself with an amazing service. Everything was spectacular from the food to the service. He was very attentive, informative, & gave us a great experience. Will definitely return because my experience was amazing. Thank you Chase.

Yelp
We've been to many of the Fogo de Chão restaurants around the country. This is one of the more inferior. The market table is about half the size as usual. None of the dishes there are marked, as they usually are. Staff is not particularly well informed about the menu and the choices.(eg what kind of soup is it? Nobody knew and nobody got back to us). When we went to pay the bill we discovered there was one particular side dish that nobody ever brought to us. In fact they didn't come around with any side dishes for the first third of the meal. If this is your first time at Fogo de Chão you'll enjoy it, but if you've been to them in other locations, you might be disappointed
google avatar

Torrie W.

Yelp
All I can say is no teeth needed. The beef ribs are so tender, if you touch the bone the meat falls off. One of our favorite items to order. If you're not to interested in experiencing the cowboy experience, you can sit at the bar and order some of the favorite meat options and select items off the menu. Our favorite is the seafood tower appetizer. We order it hot. If you don't specify hit, it comes cold! The drink of the hour is definitely the mango habanero. We order it with Hennessy! The bar area is as nice as the main dinning without all the interruptions!

C L.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and attentive; however, the food was overpriced and underwhelming. Our meal included the all-you-can-eat salad bar, mashed potatoes, bread, polenta, and bananas. If you are someone who can eat a lot of food, you will probably enjoy the experience more than I did. In my opinion, the pork and chicken were dry. I enjoyed a few cuts of beef, but I was given very small slices of each one. By the time the servers came back around, my food settled and I was full (I'm guessing this is a tactic). Realistically, I ate about $20 worth of food but paid more than $60. Side note: If you love authentic tres leches, I recommend skipping it at Fogo. It had a dry cornbread consistency with milk on the bottom and whipped cream on top. Very disappointing!! Bottom line... unless you are a big eater, please don't waste your money. I would have preferred to dine at a real steakhouse and pay $60+ for a beautiful cut of beef. However, if you're looking for ambiance, friendly service, don't mind waiting for the servers to keep coming back around with cuts of meat, and can eat enough food to make it worth the meal, then this is your place. Enjoy!

Yelp
Wow!!! What a difference a week makes...I went back to this place I had an overall great experience last week ....i decided to bring a date this week and did I regret it !! We were ordering drinks and the server had no clue of what type of alcohol the place served he literally ask my date to come up to the register and pick what she wanted ....which btw I was never asked if I would like to have a drink so I skipped that .....next the food ...I could've saved a lot more money going to a corner store and buying beef jerky because that how hard the meat was ....idk what's going on in there but definitely my last time going and you can tell the place isn't what it used to be,

Yelp
The food was good - no complaints there. The meats came around frequently and we were always told the name of the meat. There were several big groups around us and a couple tables with 2 couples and 1 woman by herself. The big groups got their sides and attentive service. My husband had ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and after 45 minutes I asked about his meal and was told it takes 20 minutes which we were aware of but then a few minutes the fish arrived. After an hour we still didn't have our sides (mashed potatoes, bananas, etc.) so I asked for them for our table and the woman next me. The big groups had their sides frequently refilled and no problem getting refills. The woman next to us had to ask for her drink again since it wasn't delivered. It definitely felt like the larger tables were the priority.

Jaclyn K.

Yelp
Not open for breakfast on a Tuesday, which said on here it was open at that time. Unable to discuss further since we weren't able to eat there. Suggest calling ahead to see if open before walking all the way there.

Yelp
As a 25+ year veteran of the service industry, the experience we had here was excellent. The entire staff was courteous and friendly, the food amazing (even the salad bar is worthy of note), and being able to enjoy a meal like this without the hassle of dress code made it all the better for my wife and I. All of this great service and food, at the brink of Mardi Gras when service can be hit or miss at most restaurants, no less in the heart of the city. Thank you from happy locals!!!

Yelp
Used to love Fogo Came today with my son to celebrate his college full ride scholarship Food was not coming as fast and not all meats were hot and some not very seasoned like they used to But today what took the experience away from us was the server. The server was awful. Never checked on us I had to look for her attention every time I needed something I asked for chimichurri three times we left and it never came Never refill my water I heard other servers on other tables how attentive they were offering clean plates or water or if they needed anything this lady was just awful This makes me not want to go back again it ruin my whole experience It was supposed to be a mother and son outing and she just made made us feel unwelcome At the end when she seen we picked up the plates and put them together on the tables so she can see we were ready she asked us if we were ready for the bill I said we are ready to order dessert she even rolled her eyes like I was just going to call the manager but my son told me to just leave it alone and just finish our dinner with dessert. Management please check on your servers they are the face of your business

Yelp
Very courteous staff! The salad bar was subpar and out of most items. The 1st floor was smaller than expected. It made the atmosphere very stuffy. Overall, I would recommend that you try it at least once.

Yelp
this used to be our go to date night place. But I'd have to say over the last year, their service, and Quality has seriously taken a nose dive. here's only one example... They advertise that for about $65 you have a full experience where they bring out all different types and cuts of meats to your table. They used to bring out all kinds of meats like filet and lamb, but sadly they only bring out the cheap cuts like sausage and chicken until you ask for it and then they wait 30 to 45 minutes before they bring you a little piece of something. Total rip off for $65 per person and I suspect they need new management.

Yelp
Very poor service, was offered only 4 different meats. Had to ask a glass of wine 3 times, didn't receive sides. It was lunch and not even busy

Yelp
I love their salad bar and their happy hour bites! This location is connected to the JW MARRIOT, so it's super convenient if you are staying there. I highly recommend the empanadas and the sliders!

Yelp
Wife and I came to this place to celebrate our anniversary, and were seated immediately on a busy weekend evening. The feel is upscale and high end, and the noise level is not overly high, but not too quiet. The food was amazing. The appetizers are great and the foods at the bar were good enough to be a whole meal. The bacon, cheeses, and other items were so flavorful. The foods they bring around are perfectly cooked and taste great. We received a free dessert of our choice for our anniversary. Price was $201 for the entire meal plus a tip, and that included three mixed drinks. We enjoyed being seated directly next to the kitchen window and I hope they keep this table in the future.

Yelp
First time at this location. It was our 1 year wedding anniversary and I wanted to take her somewhere nice. This was our favorite place where we lived before moving to New Orleans , so I decided to give it a shot. The service was extremely disappointing. We would go 15-20 minutes at a time without water refills, plates being cleaned off of the table, or even just a "are you doing okay?" while the tables next to us would be helped multiple times in that same span. It was like we weren't even there! The food was delicious as always, but very very disappointed in the way we were treated. The manager was the only one who noticed us! We will not be back.

Yelp
Overall, we thought it was Ok. The waitstaff with the meats were very friendly. However, I did not feel like we were given much help in trying to figure out what my kid would eat. It wasn't about the money at all but was worried the waiter felt like we were one of those families who would not pay for a child and sneak food in her mouth. She's just a very picky eater and not a huge meat eater. Hopefully after ordering our wine selection, that would change the waiters mind but I guess it didn't matter. Onto the food: Butternut squash soup - Meh Mashed Potatoes - Just OK and I love potatoes Plantain with potatoes - Stale Chicken wrapped with bacon - how can you go wrong with bacon? Rib - Good Filet - Good (unfortunately, this was the meat we were waiting for to come around and it finally came out maybe 15-20 minutes later) Lamb - Decent Cheese and honey - Do I need to say more? The unfortunate thing is that I don't think we got to taste all the meats available. Conveniently located next to the JW Marriott. Reservations are highly recommended for the weekend as we saw people turned away by the host. If you love meat and have a huge appetite, this is the place for you.

Yelp
Attending a company luncheon, it was my first time back since Covid. An attentive waitstaff. I felt the salad bar was a bit lacking. The foods were blander than I remember. Not much taste. I only had a sampling of the garlic beef and filet. Each was tasty. Chose tres leche cake as dessert which was quite disappointing. Too much sugar and not enough subtlety. The worst was the requested martini rocks that came in a large highball glass without any garnish (no olives, lemon peel, or onion)

Yelp
Everything was pretty bland here. They also need to descale their dishwasher because every utensil on my table had food crusted on it. Service was descent after I had to track down two employees for acknowledgement and service after I had been seated for 10 mins while it wasn't busy.

Yelp
Always satisfied!!! Time and time again, this chain of restaurants never fails to offer great food and great customer service, no matter the location! I promise that you'll never go away hungry, but you will regret skipping the extra serving of their bone-in Ribeye or their lamb chops. Their wine list is extensive and for the month of March, South American wines are half off! Their salad bar is out of this wold and to say the least, they offer more selections than you can possibly fit in one pass, so surely you must go back the second time. You're attended by your own waiter, a wine connoisseur and bus boy, but the best is the servers dress in "Gaucho" outfits keep coming around until you say: no more, please! I recommend you make reservations for a besexperience!

Yelp
I wish I had known about this place sooner! It's absolutely incredible. It's defintely a bit overwhelming at first with how much food they have ready for you. You flip over a coaster-like piece from red if you don't want meat to be brought to green if you want them to bring meat. They had so many different varieties of meats freshly cooked and each of them were delicious! They also have a market table which serves as a soup, salad, and cold cut bar. It's defintely more on the pricey side, but it was a wonderful experience that I thought was totally worth it. Parking is through the vallet at the JW Marriott, where the restaurant is located. You could look for street parking, but it's defintely easier to go with vallet.

Yelp
Food was good, but the service was so-so- honestly borderline bad for the price we are paying. I have been to several other Fogo de Chão's in different states but this by far has been the worst one. We asked for more pao de queso several times and we would have to grab the same waiter (the only one that seemed to be paying us mind) to get some more. A lot of the meat servers didn't know what meat or cut they were serving so it was hard to tell what to ask for. Overall, though management checked on us once or twice- this place needs additional training for their staff.

Yelp
My favorite buffet in the city! Love their delicious salad bar and its big variety of flavors and selection. The fruit and veggies are always fresh. I love their cured meats as well as their amazing chicken salad. I never make it to their soups, but I always save room for their praline-covered bacon. And of course, I have to mention how the meat just keeps on coming until you flip your card over to the red side. I do my best to pace myself, but inevitably, I always feel like I need a wheelbarrow to wheel myself out. I've introduced at least a dozen friends and family to this place, and I still have many more to let them know about this wonderful place that's eye candy for your eyes, belly and wallet. Service has always been stellar, and the bathroom is always clean. Only drawback is parking, but they do offer a discounted parking nearby in a garage. But I always just circle around until I'm able to find a spot. Last time it took me 15 mins since I'm stubborn. Luckily, my full belly and happy body always make up for any frustration you may have!
