Fogo de Chão - Vila Olimpia

"Appropriately kitted out in typical regional costume, gaucho-dressed staff pass through the large, busy dining room in co-ordinated fashion serving the very best cuts of Brazilian and Uruguayan meats. This branch of the Fogo de Chão churrascaria chain keeps to what it does well: excellent meat, unparalleled service, plus a top-quality and innovative buffet of salads and cold dishes. Located along one of the city’s main avenues and popular mainly with families and couples." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best meals I've ever had with easily the best service I've ever experienced. Giovanni and Cesar treated me and my friends like family. Every cut of meat was cooked to perfection, and picanha is unforgettable. I can't recommend visiting enough.

Yelp
If you have never been to Fogo de Chao IN Brazil, you're missing out! The quality of the meat and especially all of the options of picanha just hit differently. Is there an enormous salad bar? YES! Did I eat any of it? NO! WHY?! Because I could not stop wanting more and more of the delicious meat options. There is plenty of room inside for a large group and the service is spectacular. You never need to look for your server, they just keep coming back to fill your plate. The drinks are made with love (of course a caipirinha is obligatory) and there are plenty of dessert options to share (if you still have room). Even if you have been to a Fogo de Chao elsewhere, come to Brazil and taste the reasons why they are the BEST at making meats. Sorry for the absence of pictures...I was so busy devouring the flavorful options I forgot!

Yelp
We do have these types of restaurants in the US. Typically was a lot more seafood on the buffet, however, the fruits and vegetables displayed were delicious. Service was great every time I got up and returned to my table a server pulled the chair for me and that was very elegant. Meat or fantastically prepared on the skewers and the dessert was awesome. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
We had a great meal here with my cousin, great service too, very accommodating. We were doing a medical certification and then accommodate as and provide delicious dishes in the time frame we had. I would highlight the great service!

Yelp
This was really good- the meat was cooked and seasoned very well, and they brought out the "good stuff" continuously. The only issue I had is that the condiment bar could have used a spicier chimichurri and the potato salad was a bit lacking in flavor, but the rest of the sides were extremely good. This was easily the best of many Brazilian meat places I've been too. Service is fantastic.best place foe meat in São Paulo. Highly recommended

Yelp
I am not a big fan of going to chain restaurants, but I feel differently about going to Fogo de Chão, as they are consistently good and reliable no matter what location you go to- however, I NEVER miss a chance to go to where it was invented, and that's Brazil! First of all, I don't care what they tell you, but the meat is just so much better here in Brazil than any other restaurant in the world I have been to. I brought a friend who has never been to a Brazilian Fogo, and boy, he noticed the difference right off the bat. We also had a fantastic bottle of wine, perfectly suited for the meat. Service was impeccable, and we had a great time, ate way too much meat, and drank too much wine, but what a great night it was. Fogo never fails me, and I must say that the experience in the Mecca is always even better.

Yelp
A group of us went here early eve on a weekday. WiFi was complicated. I could not log in and gave up. Drinks were served right away. In general the service was impeccable. I dropped my napkin and there was a new one before I finished retrieving the old one from the floor. The Salad bar was extensive and good. The meat going around included sausage, filet, flank, lamb, and another; it was all good. No argentinian meat :( though. Of course I had to finish with a papaya cream. It was delicious!!! They also sold knives which were very cool. The steak knives were made of German steel and each had a cover. The large carving knife came in a beautiful leather sleeve with a sharpener.

Yelp
While one can find Fogo de Chao in most major cities in the US, Brazil is where it's from and it's no wonder why the place is so popular - it's amazing. Quality and flavorful meats are passed around and you get to indulge as much as you'd like. I've been to churrascarias many, many times and I think this was the first time I actually didn't even approach the salad bar - I just had meat. The quality is amazing and the flavors are incredible. The service was very good and attentive. They had a great wine selection and I enjoyed my experience here. I'd definitely return during a Sao Paulo visit.

Yelp
Excellent service and amazing food! If you're looking for a great churrascaria, Fogo is wonderful and reliable, no matter where you go. The waiters took great care of our group and were extremely pleasant to speak to.

Yelp
Amazing salad bar w vegetables I had not tried before. And the cuts of meat were fantastic and Med rare as I liked it. Tried the papaya sorbet at the end w cassis liquor that caped this delightful, very Brazilian meal. Oh--and the service was amazing--like when I dropped my napkin , one of the wait staff got to it before I got a chance to bend down and pick it up!

Yelp
Going to Fogo in the US versus going to one in Saõ Paulo is different in a great way. The service, top notch. The food, even better than in the US. Even the salad bar tasted better! But this one in particular is the best amongst the best. Even the locals that we came with said the same. The meats were never not present if you wanted.

Yelp
Not sure if any of you been to Fogo Chicago before, this is a Brazilian Steakhouse. They are many of them here in the U.S. I told my driver I would like to go to a steakhouse, and he took me here, which I was a little disappointed when I first saw this, because we have Fogo in the U.S, and I been to the one in Chicago, so when I travel to Sao Paulo in Brazil, I thought he would at least recommend something more traditional. We were there during lunch time, which I am not recommend, because is a buffet and the passing steak Brazilian style, if you been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, you know exactly what I'm talking about. For lunch, is really heavy. Once we seated, and once again, they brought out many different type of brand, I think is a trap, cuz they want you to fill it up in brand, and again, Cheese brand, awesome!! lol They came around with different type of meat, chicken, steak, sausage, including chicken heart. Yes, Brazilian loves Chicken hearts, and no, I didn't try it, but to me is very interested, I guess Chinese not the only one that eat everything. lol Don't get me wrong, I like Fogo, I was just hoping to try something more traditional. Overall, I will recommend this restaurant, but only for dinner, you don't want to go there for just a light salad Is very expensive, I think the bill for 2 of us is came out to $275 rio, which is approximately little over $110.00, I think that's expensive for lunch, right? No? I dunno. lol

Yelp
I had wanted to visit this restaurant because I had assumed it would be a must try in Brazil. Visited on a Friday night and it was pretty quiet. Service was very good, quality of meats was very good. Drinks were good and strong and poured at the table from the waiters tray.. However we were surprised that the buffet was very small and sparse in comparison to other churrascarias I have been to in São Paulo. Deserts were extra. Total bill for each of us for the rodizio plus desert 2drinks desert and 1 bottle pellegrino was over $70 US. Per person. Over twice as much as the competitors we had visited previously who offered so much more. Not a bad meal and glad we tried it but cant say I would return.

Yelp
Food de Chao is among the best of the steak houses I've been to. I travel around the world and have the opportunity to dine at many types of establishments. There is an abundant wine selection at many different price points. I chose the Boscata Reserva 2008 which pair very well with my right off the spit beef dinner. The beef dinner included several cuts of beef with the extremely well stocked salad bar. I could go on about the food but it really comes to what you prefer. Universally appreciated is service. OUTSTANDING, EXCEPTIONAL are just 2 words that come to mind. The room is divided into sections. Each section has a team Manager and several wait staff. Wellington and his team took very good care of us during our 3.5 hour evening (we enjoyed the experience so much we honestly didn't want to leave). Wellington and the team moved through the room in a well choreographed dance they scarcely needed to communicate as each person instinctively knew and anticipated the needs of all customers. From setting the table to pour the Port Wine is was executed with EXCELLENCE! Well done Wellington and team. Thank you for and amazing experience....Ann

Yelp
I come here very single time I am in town. I've eaten at numerous Fogo de Chao's in the US (Chicago, Addison - TX to name a few) but the meat here is by far better than in the US. The difference is the salad bar. The salad bar in the US is better but the meat is better in Brazil. They have blood sausage here which they don't in the US. This is something that I highly recommend. It is different than other blood sausages in Brazil. The ones here are a lot tastier. I told a friend to try the blood sausage when he came here and he gave me a look of disgust. However, the next day, he told me that he loved it and ate 4 more pieces. The next time we went back, the first thing we requested was the blood sausage and we each took 4 pieces. What I like about here are the sauces that they give you. They give you a chimichurri sauce for your red meats and a greenish/mint sauce for your lamb. The chimichurri sauce here is so much better than in the US. You pretty much just have to put the lamb sauce away because this chimichurri sauce on the lamb is fantastic. For North Americans, when they bring you the meats, you need to ask for medium rare (Mal passado) or else they cut you slices of well done. For dessert, get one of the Creme's. Either the creme de papaya or the creme de manga. Those are delicious and they give you a graham cracker with it. However, if you want, you can also order a pineapple with cinnamon. They don't bring this around on the meat sticks like other churrascarias and it's not on the menu but they pretty much give you a whole slice of pineapple (about 2 in thick) grilled and coated with cinnamon. Talked about a head rush!!!! I usually leave here more than full and rush back to the hotel so I can rest/recover/take a massive dump afterwards.

Yelp
I love Rodizio's or as they should be really called Churrascarias. I've been to several of the Fogo de Chão franchise, but dining in São Paulo beats any other approximations. Everything, except the bill, was excellent. The signature picanha did it's apparition twice during the night and left me longing for the third strike. The pão de queijo had a perfectly moist and chewy heart. Fried bananas and the grilled pineapple (abacaxi) provided the sweet cue to flip the signal to red.

Yelp
Wow, put a check in the box for this one. The Brazilian steak House is Brazil. It was a great experience, the restaurant is beautiful, tall ceilings, sunny and airy. The staff was super nice even with my zero Portuguese skills. Prepare to be overwhelmed with every type of meat imaginable. Its a great experience, we went at lunch so that works really well. Especially if you have time for a nap afterwards. Thanks to my friend Alejandro for the experience.

Yelp
Vegetarians don't know what they're missing. This place is meat galore (chicken, pork and most of all steak). I've been to the one in NYC, but i like this one best. It's smaller, but it allows for great customer service. As soon as that card was flipped for "meat-pls", servers came by and politely offered many kinds of meat. Out of all the ones offered my fave was the steak shoulder (yumm!) and my companions fave were the chicken hearts (poor little guys- 25 chicken hearts were sacrificed that night for my companion). The sides were pretty good as well. The mandiocas aka yuca fries (as my people say) were to die for! I was so into the yuca fries, i cant remember the other sides lol Cons: Skip the buffet, nothing worth filling your stomach on. Also, be weary of the guy towards the end offering you a shot to stomach all the food- they make it seem like its complimentary but its not (10$ each- we noticed it the next day) Great place though!

Patrick S.

Yelp
We go there every single time we visit Sao Paolo on our business trips, despite living in New York, which also has one. Why? Because it's not the same. The one in Bazil has a superior flavor, don't ask me the reason. Maybe the meat is different. All I know is that I visited numerous steakhouses in Brazil and this one is the best for sure.

Yelp
Such a great place for those who love good meat. Many options being constantly brought to your table, good English service, great strong drinks, friendly service...the only downside may be the price, but you get the quality back. If you eat only once in São Paulo (or even Brazil), let it be a churrascaria! Good for groups, couples, individuals and families.

Yelp
One of the best steakhouse, if not the best, in SP. The salad bar is great and the meat even better. Highly recommended!

Michael K.

Yelp
After reading the reviews, we were excited to go. As soon as we settled into our hotel, we went to Fogo de Chao around 1 pm. Because we were early, we were served the left over meat from the night before. Everything was so touch that you could not even cut it with a sharp knife. What you were able to saw up tasted so well done. Very dissappointed. We spent the equivalent of $200 USD for four people and left out of there stuffed with salads.

Yelp
What a delight!! I'm currently in Brazil on an assignment. The team decided to get together and pay this restaurant a visit. We were not disappointed. The level of customer service tops any place thus far that I've visited. Great service and great food!!

Yelp
Outstanding experience. Grilled beef meat in many different ways. Special mention to capinha which is unknow in Europe but so tasty!

Patrick M.

Yelp
It's all about the beef, of course, and Fogo did not disappoint. However, if you see a server out with the lamb shoulder, make sure you put your coaster to green, because that is the tastiest cut of them all.

Matrix M.

Yelp
I went together with some colleagues. My colleague had said that this restaurant was part of a chain. I am not a fan of chain restaurants but this was a positive surprise! Really nice food and excellent caipirinhas. The salad bar, meat and service are top quality. I liked the fried bananas.
