Fogo by Alexandre Silva was a lucky find that turned into a memorable experience. Tucked into Lisbon’s vibrant culinary scene, this place stands out with its cosmopolitan vibe and sleek, modern design—refined without being cold, stylish without trying too hard.
The staff was fair and efficient, letting the food speak for itself. And it truly does. From the moment the bread arrived—warm, rustic slices with butter and pickled vegetables—I knew I was in for something thoughtful. The grilled meat with crispy kale and mustard seed sauce was bold and balanced, and the roasted root vegetables brought out deep, caramelized flavors that felt both comforting and elevated. The duck breast over crispy rice with roasted onions was a standout—rich, layered, and beautifully executed.
But the star of the night? Pão-de-ló húmido with salted caramel ice cream. Served in parchment, it was a sensory revelation: soft, gooey, salty-sweet, and just the right amount of indulgent. A dessert that lingers in memory.
Fogo surprised me in the best way. It’s a place I’ll return to—not just for the food, but for the feeling it leaves behind. Highly recommended.
