A Syrian Street Food Counter From Damas — and More March 2022 Montreal Restaurant Openings | Eater Montreal

"Across from Damas, a new street-food counter opened at the end of March offering no seating and a compact takeout menu that includes burgers made with sujok-spiced beef, quail eggs, raw sheep cheese and tomato jam; roasted lamb shoulder shawarma with biwaz, grilled tomatoes, tahini and pomegranate molasses wrapped in saj; a range of other sandwiches; and several takeout-friendly favourites from the Damas repertoire, including a wide selection of hot and cold mezze. Folfol is open for takeout Tuesday through Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m., with delivery available via DoorDash." - Valerie Silva

Google
I had the Shish Taouk and it was delicious. Next time I’d try one of their to-go meals - incredible variety of warm plates and dips.

My favourite bakhlava lives here, until it lives in my cozy place. Trust me, it is worth trying.

Google
Unfortunately, the one star reviews are correct. I had great expectations as I love Middle Eastern food. The sandwich was incredibly small and for $20. I can name you five other places that will produce far superior and more more valuable sandwiches. To top it all off the location is absolutely freezing. I sat down with a friend to eat, and we both kept our coats on the entire time. I could’ve eaten three of those sandwiches for my lunch and for that price I should’ve had three.

Google
Trust me I don’t say this lightly. This is the best fast-food shawarma place in Montreal. If you’re looking at this restaurant on Uber Eats, just be aware: delivery often takes at least an hour. Sometimes it shows one hour, but it can take even longer. That’s because the food is actually prepared fresh and with care, unlike many other fast-food shawarma spots. The quality is on the same level as Damas, the upscale high-end Syrian restaurant, yes, it’s that good. A must-try: the lamb shawarma. Absolutely incredible. So far, I’ve tried the halloumi, yalanji, muhammara, kibbeh au pistache, fattoush, and chicken shawarma. Every single dish was delicious. I highly recommend this place. If you go in person, note that the space is small, but there is street parking available.

Google
Simply the best take out restaurant in Montreal! The entire menu is delicious, fresh and well prepared. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. I really enjoy how fast their service is. They have the best chicken or lamb sandwiches, prepared fresh in just 5 minutes. They specialize in prepared Syrian dishes that you pick up and cook at home, in about 15 minutes, very easy and convenient. I strongly recommend!

Google
Delicious Syrian food. I had an amazing swarma lamb sandwich, so flavorful. I love the beet spread, it is so unique, visually beautiful and tastes so good.

Google
Unfortunately i didn't take photos of the place or food... I ordered 2 sandwiches 1 chicken and 1 beef shawarma. The prices are a little bit expensive (20$/sandwich) but you pay for quality ingredients and nice syrian flavorful sandwiches. I would go again and recommend eating there as the average cost of a sandwich in the city of montreal is 15$ and for 5$ more you have a big and really tasty one.

Google
Best Syrian food I ever had. Everything is well marnated and well cooked. Presentation is very good. Good value. Best Lamb Shawarma. I will go again and again. We are lucky to have this restaurant in our neighbouhood. I went to their 555 Chabanel location.

Yelp
GREAT CHICKEN SHAWARMA!! I ordered the Fattoush, Chicken Shawarma Plate, and Baklava through Uber Eats. While many reviews praise the Fattoush, I personally found it underwhelming for the price--it just didn't live up to the hype. The Chicken Shawarma Plate, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious. Everything on the plate was well-prepared and felt like a great value. The chicken was moist and packed with flavor, and the raisins added a subtle sweetness that made each bite even better. As for the Baklava, I wouldn't order it again, but that's just due to personal preference rather than the quality. Overall, I'd recommend skipping the salad and going straight for a plate--you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
We ordered to go through DoorDash with delivery to our hotel. Everything was delicious and fresh and we really enjoyed some good Middle Eastern food in Montreal. Great for lunch

Yelp
It's a takeaway place. U can stand and eat on the side. A lot of people came in from doordash. I really enjoyed the square fried cheese filled fritters, they were "The Bomb" like mozzarella cheese sticks. Will definitely recommend.

Yelp
Since Covid, I dine much less at restaurants and have focused my dining either with uber eats or takeout. One consistent place I get my food is Folfol. You really can't get a bad item at this place. First of all their packaging is top notch, i live in Laval and sometimes it takes more than an hour for the delivery but not once was it cold. There burgers are too die for, each bite is an explosion of flavours. They also have meals that just need reheating. All you need to do is have your oven heated to 450F and pop it in there for 15 minutes. Honestly, the food, the quality, the packaging their attention to details is absolutely perfect. If you haven't tried their take out then you are missing a culinary experience

Yelp
Every single food item on the entire menu is delicious!! This establishment has been one of our best finds of this year as we order from here almost weekly! Hard to choose a favourite as everything is excellent but my most ordered item is the Aleppo Pepper Roasted Lamb Sandwich. It has roasted Lamp shoulder, parsley, tomatoes, garlic mayo, tahini, Aleppo Pepper & pickles. Great food with consistent taste and quality!! Absolutely worth the $$

Maggie W.

Yelp
WAY overpriced and food comes vacuum sealed and not fresh. Extremely disappointed given the great reviews of its high quality ingredients and authenticity.
