The Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes in Corktown | Eater Detroit

"This award-winning all-day cafe and bottle shop is quite versatile. Enjoy a brunch with waffle breakfast sandwiches; pick up a quick turmeric chai latte on the way to work; or select a bottle of biodiverse wine, along with a curated selection of gourmet groceries items — a bulk of which is sourced locally, by BIPOC makers, or are considered sustainably sourced — to host a fancy dinner party at home. They also host community events at the Neighbor x Folk collaboration at the Michigan Central Station. A handful of reservations are available and the cafe also offers takeout." - Courtney Burk

Detroit’s Best Coffee Shops, Spring 2025 | Eater Detroit

"Part cafe, part wine shop, and lots of local charm. This Corktown establishment has undergone many iterations since opening in 2018 — first as an all-day breakfast spot featuring locally sourced ingredients. It’s since evolved as a cute cafe and bottle shop open daily and featuring biodynamic wines, cans of kombucha, a selection of gourmet snacks, specialty coffee beverages, and a brunch-forward food menu. Expect products to be sourced from BIPOC, Indigenous, women, or LGBTQIA-owned whenever possible. Wind down with friends for weekend brunch on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) or from the limited seating indoors. Enjoy menu items like the filling Biscuit Brekky that comes with an herb and cheese frittata, a fluffy biscuit with butter and jam, and fresh greens. Folk has expanded up the street with a space called Neighbor x Folk at Michigan Central Station, featuring high-end pantry items and community workshops. Plan ahead and order online." - Serena Maria Daniels

Detroit-based Coffeehaus sets up permanent home at Somerset Collection | Eater Detroit

"A Corktown cafe has added Ghost Town Oats oat milk to its menu; the plant-based milk (founded in Los Angeles in 2020 by Michelle Johnson with partners Ezra Baker and Eric Grimm) is being supplied to the cafe by a local roaster that is the brand's sole distributor in metro Detroit." - Serena Maria Daniels

This Award-Winning Detroit Chef Is Embracing His Palestinian Identity | Eater Detroit

"A Corktown cafe and wine shop hosting a newly launched dining series called Food Folks; it will host a multi-course, family-based Palestinian meal prepared by Omar Anani on February 28 with ticket options priced at $85 (or $120 with a biodynamic wine pairing). The event is presented as part of the shop’s intimate dining programming, includes a charitable component with a portion of proceeds going to Anera, and is positioned as a storytelling-driven, community-minded evening centered on Palestinian culinary traditions." - Serena Maria Daniels
