"Kids aren’t going to understand a 45-minute wait for eggs and pancakes, no matter how fluffy they are. Our advice for avoiding sidewalk squabbles is beating hungry Inman Park residents to Folk Art’s host stand. Come by 9:30am, and you should easily score a booth in a dining room covered in stickers, knickknacks, and a generally upbeat vibe. Known for taking creative liberties in the kitchen (did someone say grit fritters?), the restaurant tempts the hungry with chocolate s’mores waffles while those craving lunch can go with the slightly tamer hot dog or fried shrimp. photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair" - DeMarco Williams

"Thumbs Up Diner on West Ponce de Leon Avenue closed after a decade in downtown Decatur. The restaurant's owners cited rising rents as the reason for closure and urged residents to protest against rent hikes. They expressed gratitude to their customers for the past 10 years and shared memories cherished by the staff. Thumbs Up has five other locations in Westside, Old Fourth Ward, East Point, Roswell, and Douglasville." - Beth McKibben

Took my mom to breakfast this morning we had the sweet potato donuts for an appetizer sweet and delicious. My mom ordered steak and eggs I ordered maple French toast and bacon. Food was really good great customer service

The place was nice. It give the feeling of an old fashioned diner without the greasy feel. The service is nice and the food is quick and tasty. The parking is in downtown Decatur and so you may want to avoid the busy times.

I frequent this particular restaurant specifically for the fish and grits since the other Folk Art in North Highland doesn’t serve fish and grits. Sometime I dine in and enjoy a mimosa or will get it to go like today, Monday. I usually have a great experience with the Decatur location. However, this is the first time I have been charged automatic gratuity + to go fees on my order. As a regular customer this is surprising and can’t say that I am happy about it.

Loved this spot. Came across it on Google when hanging out in downtown Decatur. We walked in and it was a nice vibe. Got seated at the bar after waiting 5 min and was served by Tanny. She was awesome. I ordred a 3 egg omlete with Canadian bacon and pepper jack with hash browns and sweet potatoe waffles. Soooo damn delicious. I was skeptical about the waffle but it was damn good. My wife had the Complete breakfast. Eggs fried hard with toast and veggie sausage and we shared a mamosa. Overall, it was a great experience

We dropped in to have a great breakfast meeting up with several friends. Overall, great service and decent menu with lots to choose from. We tried the crab cakes, the eggs benedict were fantastic, the omelet, and grits were delicious. We'll be back!

Google
This place is sooo cute!! My biscuit was amazing. Every element was good on its own but the biscuit is so savory. Chicken fresh. Sausage gravy, good. I’m not even a biscuits n gravy person but sooo good. I didn’t like the sweet potato donuts only bc of the syrup. Pics I saw online just had powdered sugar, the maple syrup made them soggy and just overdid the sweetness. I’d order again tho, just no syrup. Only thing I’m not fond of is parking. No one Told me they only validate for the garage on same side as their location. I couldn’t even see it due to the construction blocking the garage. Food was good enough for me to let it go tho lol.

Everything we order was delicious! Our waiter made some really good recommendations.

Google
Great food and good service! They even have a full bar! I can't wait to go here for brunch on the weekend. It's on a busy side street so no real atmosphere, however it's not a bad atmosphere at all. What they lack in atmosphere they make up for in food and service. I had the sweet potato waffles with their yummy grits and scrambled eggs.

Yelp
My friends and I came here on a Saturday around 9:45 am to find them already almost full. We opted to sit at the bar since there was a wait for actual tables plus I enjoy watching the cooks in action anyways. We got their mimosas and champagne punch which we delicious. For food we tried their french toast with a side of sausage, turkey melt with a side of hash browns, and braised short rib eggs Benedict. The french toast was thick and served with real maple syrup. My turkey melt was made with a well toasted hearty wheat bread, filled with caramelized onions, cheese and turkey. Hash browns were crisp and salty. Then the short rib was beyond tender and so flavorful. We were all so happy with our choices and I already can't wait to come back to this comfortable, diner experience. Highly recommend others to try this gem out! biggest let down is that there is no private parking so you'll have to fend for yourself on that front.

Yelp
Service was good. Food menu was extensive. Cooked well but lacked seasoning on almost all dishes. We tried the green tomatoes - no seasoning, but deep fried well. Grits- we had to add salt and pepper for flavor French toast - delicious Apple sausage- delicious Catfish- no seasoning- had to return it after 1 bit

Yelp
I am visiting from out of town and am very disappointed with this place. It was recommended by a friend so we went for brunch. There were six of us and they sat us at a table that could fit use instantly water was dropping from the vent. I told the person that sat us and asked if we could move she said there was no where else to move us and the table behind us had the same issue. She said we could sit outside but would have to wait as had already waited about 20 minutes. The water kept dropping and I asked the server if there was a manager. He said the woman that sat us was the manager. They also ended up seating another large party at the table behind us and they were complaining of the same issue. The main problem I have is the manager knew there was a problem with water dripping but she said nothing to us about it prior to seating us she could have said there is an issue with water dripping do you still want to sit here. That would have been the appropriate response. She also told us they knew there was an issue and the repair man was coming this week. This is not acceptable and as a manager it's unbelievable that they seat patrons at these tables and say nothing about the issue. So I cannot recommend this service and the manager for her handling of it. Would not return.

Yelp
I came here for my friend's 25th birthday brunch. It was decent. We had to wait for about 15 minutes due to the fact that they don't take any reservations. This was fine because we were able to take photos with the nice murals around the place. Once we got seated, they sat us in the back near the kitchen and restrooms. It was okay at first, but started to annoyed me because they kept slamming down these plates above my head. Yet they apologized and it was kosher onwards, especially because the food came! They have a large selection of food that it kind of overwhelmed me. However, I played it safe and got mac n cheese, grilled cheese, fruits and tomato soup. I wasn't sure about the price as I didn't pay, but the food quality was delicious. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Folk art has been a staple in my brunch rotation for years. Their consistent customer service and quality of food is unmatched! We went for a post church brunch and it did not disappoint. Even at their busiest, the wait was no more than 20 minutes. There is a variety of seating options with outdoor, indoor and bar seating. The ambiance of the Decatur location fits perfectly with the area: family friendly yet young and lively with a hint of rustic charm. We got the Foul Play and Shrimp Po Boy and it did not disappoint. There's also free parking on Sundays which is a major plus.

Yelp
MUST VISIT BRUNCH SPOT - Folk Art has always been one of my go-to brunch spots in Atlanta - I was excited to see them open a second location in Decatur (slightly closer to me than their first location). When we arrived, we had the pup in tow, but there was some limited outdoor seating. It was a bit chilly outside but we had prepared for the elements and they did have some heaters. I'm an iced coffee girl but it was way too cold while sitting outside - so two hot coffees were necessary. We started with sweet potato beignets because those were my favorites from the original location. They weren't as pretty as the ones I remembered but still tasted delicious. We went with the Short Rib & Grits and the Folk Southern Fried and found both dishes to be delicious, albeit a bit on the heavy side of the brunch spectrum. The outdoor seating is a bit sparse so definitely don't recommend it unless you're ok with braving the elements! We also had some extremely slow service due partially to the power outage that occurred during the meal, as well as the server having to run out from the busy restaurant inside. But I suppose that's weekend brunch for ya!

Yelp
Liked/ Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / The food was ok. I liked that they were able to add things to my eggs Benedict, like fried green tomato, caramelized onion... it was nice but I gave 3 because it all lacked some flavor. I would try again maybe something else... perhaps a sandwich or something. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The prices were GREAT! Disliked - Disliked - Disliked -Disliked -Disliked -Disliked -Disliked - The kitchen was soooooooo loud. [it's an open kitchen btw] It was a slow day so I guess they felt like it didn't matter but it was like they were speaking loudly to each other, and watching soccer so loud... the sound "goooooooooooooooaaaaaaallll" was severely competing with the low music. It started with them playing some game on their on their phone loudly at first and graduated into a full soccer game viewing party, yelling at the match and all. It felt obnoxious and annoying to be honest. I'm not tripping about them being on their phone during a slow day ... I mean they were working so who cares but at least turn it down a bit... don't make me feel like I'm in your living room. Maybe it was their sign that they were closing in an hour?

Yelp
Very pricey aesthetic brunch spot in Decatur. There are parking garages near by but you have to pay. Ate here for the first time and was shocked with how scant the servings were. For example, I got a Crab Cake Benedict for $21-22 after taxes and it did not come with any sides not even like toast, hash browns, fruit, salad, or potatoes. There is a bar counter service where you can sit and eat too. Otherwise, the short Mexican server guy was great and deserves a raise!

Subira J.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time here! A group of four of us came here for brunch on a Saturday. There are two locations and this was the one in Decatur. We chose it because it has a little bit more space and we are very happy with our decision. Please don't come here. If you have any issues waiting, even though the weight wasn't long, it is good to note that they do not take reservations, so just be prepared to wait for 20 minutes or so for a table to clear up, we ordered a bunch of things but I got the breakfast burger which is a double patty with cheese and hashbrowns and eggs. There is no bacon even though it is advertised on the menu with bacon you do have to add that. It was a pretty solid burger in my opinion, and I'm excited to come back here and try something else on the menu! The staff was lovely, and the restaurant was nice and decorated for the holidays!

Yelp
Well, the server Auden was great. The food, however, well...a swing and a miss would've been better. The chicken was dry and flavorless. My omelette was missing half of the ingredients they were sure to charger us for. The french toast was extra crispy. They were out of Coke. The passion fruit mimosa didn't taste like anything at all. The server was kind. I wish I hadn't wasted my appetite here.

Yelp
Came here on a date, which was a good choice. The lighting was really good for something midday. The food was good also and the service was pretty quick. I had the sweet potato pancakes, which was not a bad choice at all.

Erika W.

Yelp
We showed up on a Sunday for an impromptu meal. We added our names to the waiting list. Make sure if you have small ones you're prepared with snacks. Our waiter was nice and came a few times but only to drop food off. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. Bathrooms have changing tables and are for both genders. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
Breakfast review... Great food! Lovely presentation. Clean! Meetings-possible quiet. Cool vibe. Lots of design thought and soul. Got the Benedict and a pancake, but ate the darn thing before I thought to snap a pic! Jordan (the waitress) was helpful, cool, and on top of it all. The guys in the back - skilled chefs! Will certainly be back again for breakfast.

Laura S.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in on a busy Saturday late morning and we were seated at the bar immediately! The service was awesome. I didn't love the black coffee but it was fine. I ordered the pick your own omelette and got a side of grits and toast. All of my food was delicious!! I asked for a side of jelly and got a serving of the house made pepper jelly. I was exactly what I needed!! I will be back! The restaurant was busy and loud with chatter at this time.

Yelp
I recently visited Folk Art with my family for brunch with my family. I had never been before, so I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something savory and a little heartier than I'd usually eat. So this southern fried chicken sandwich screamed at me. It was absolutely delicious. The cook perfectly cooked the chicken breast, and the gravy was super flavorful, bringing the entire dish together. It was a little busy, but we did go during brunch hours on a Sunday, and we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The only complaints I remembered hearing were about how strong the coffee was, and my family wasn't a fan of the grits. Either way, I enjoyed my meal and would recommend Folk Art for a nice brunch date or gathering with friends.

Ali S.

Yelp
We loved our first visit. The service was great, and we were in and out within an hour on a Sunday. The special - short rib eggs Benedict was incredible. Really enjoyed the cute small town vibe with an upbeat feel.

Megan Y.

Yelp
I am writing this review after my second time eating at Folk Art. The first time was sometime in 2021, and this last time was a weekend ago. I ordered different things because I like to try new items on menus. My first time, I got an omelette and a coffee drink. This time, I got their version of a lox sandwich/bagel (tomato soup side) and just had water. I was very impressed by the omelette, but it was a pretty heavy/large portion meal. I was disappointed with the lox bagel. The ingredients basically all fell apart and there was no mixing of flavors which is what I like in a lox bagel. I felt the tomato soup was better than this entree! Other than that, I love the restaurant's atmosphere and the fact you can take a walk in Downtown Decatur easily. Street parking is easy to find, and the staff are super friendly as well.

Clif C.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick breakfast at the cafe bar. I love the ambiance and the great service here. They make you feel like you are special. While I love a savory breakfast, today I went with the pecan cinnamon roll pancakes made with sweet potato butter milk batter. Yum!! I added bacon I the side as well. Their drip coffee rivals any boutique coffee shop. Love the music and retro vibe here!

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Food: The menu had so many great options it was hard for us to decide. Steak sandwich was great Crab cake sliders ( needed more seasoning) The fried green tomatoes were THE BEST!!!!! Service: Taylor was a delight. Prompt, answered all our questions and kept a smile on her face. Superb! Ambiance: We sat outside because the weather was a perfect summer warmth. Overall the food was good and this place will definitely be days spot.

Yelp
Folk art is GREAT. I've been here now at least 5 times in their Decatur location, mostly for breakfast, but I came for lunch once, and every time I have not been disappointed with anything I've ordered. I'll focus on my last visit and what I got at that time. Huevos rancheros: $13.99 Sweet potato Beignets: $6.99 Coffee: $3.75 I sat outside on a chilly morning, but don't worry, they do have outside heat for their tables. It was very busy so it took me a while to even get served, so there could be a bit of a delay, fyi. The Huevos rancheros actually weren't my first choice, but they became a great choice when the plate hit the table. The serving size was great, and the bright colors on the rancheros matched the bright flavors. You can order your eggs how you like so I had my scrambled with cheese. Every bite is great, except maybe the last bite because your experience is over. But yep, try this dish! The Sweet potato beignets are beautiful, almost too pretty to eat.....almost! I kinda thought they would be much more dense but they were more light and fluffy. Packed with cinnamon and covered with powdered sugar, you can eat them as they are and be happy with their flavors. They come with a syrup to drizzle, dip or however you apply your syrup, but you don't need it. Coffee is limitless, so they'll keep bringing you cups as long as you ask. Located off of ponce de leon, Folk art is just a few steps away from Decatur Square. Like most Decatur visits, it's tough to find a parking spot. If you're lucky, there are parking spots directly across from Folk art. There are several lots around the city though so you may have to walk a bit to get your good food. Either way it's worth it! Customer service, at least everytime I've visited, has been just fine. Staff have been helpful with selection recs, and they always seem genuinely happy that you're there. Long overdue in my review, but one of the rare 5 stars I'll give out to a restaurant. Give these guys a shot, or try out their Inman park location if Decatur is too far. For me, I know I'll be back......maybe today!

Cleasha J.

Yelp
Not really sure what happened but our waiter never came to serve us. It took staff 15 minutes to even bring us water and we were sitting outside. We had to leave.

Anne O.

Yelp
Since Covid and supply chain issues we've all lost a lot of good restaurants. When my daughter-in-law recommended this spot for a good breakfast, within walking distance from our hotel, we were happy to try it. And now we have an amazing spot to enjoy a delicious breakfast and a good cup of coffee. The menu is quite extensive and offers something for everyone. The spot is also very pleasantly decorated.

Emma M.

Yelp
Probably one of the best places I've eaten at in a while, and definitely one of the best in Atlanta. Everything was cooked perfectly, flavorful, and a wonderful atmosphere with really cool decor. The service was phenomenal, our waiter Cam was very attentive and friendly. I would recommend anyone come here and give it a shot!

Jaye B.

Yelp
I've waited a minute to post this review--1. Because I've been a long time fan of Folk Art...I mean I've been going since "before" there was a location in Downtown Decatur and 2. I'm a Decatur girl--I stan all things Decatur but this experience I simply cannot "stand" for. Yes, the terrible pun is intended. I'm saying this with the belief not certain that there has been a recent change in management as the menu as well as seating...and in general overall ambience (vibe) has changed. And none of its for the better...the large tables are now small round tables that can barely fit two plates for serving. The food is not flavorful with questionable servings...and did you peep my receipt ?!? During our monthly family brunch outing, My mom ordered a shrimp po boy and asked to substitute fries for grits...no problem, but check the receipt --we were charged for a regular plate + .99 cents added to the check...so we paid extra for an order that was not complete ‍. In addition, I asked for a small side of grits with my shrimp po boy plate , .99 cents right? No...try $4.99!?!‍. If we'd been advised these changes "before" we ordered I would have said no thank you on the grits. We were not and when I asked the server...he was nice but looked sooo confused --i.e. no help. So we paid with tip more than $60.00 for two shrimp po boy plates with grits and 2 cups of coffee . Yeah...think about it and let that soak in. I did not make a fuss this time around because I knew this would be my last visit. We all 4 agreed bye bye Folk Art. P.S. I suggest to consider playing music other than 70s rock (loudly) and ditch the tv...take a note on your clientele here. They are not coming to Folk Art on a Sunday morning for all that...trust me

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED this place! I came here with a friend around noon on a Saturday and there was a bit of a wait, but it wasn't too bad. The weather was lovely, so we didn't mind waiting outside. We were finally seated at the bar, which was perfect since I love sitting at the bar. It was so bright and airy inside and it was the perfect place for Saturday brunch. My friend ordered a mimosa while I had a virgin blackberry margarita which was delish. I ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and the shrimp po boy for my meal with the avocado and cucumber salad. Everything was supreme. My only slight complaint was there was a little too much blue cheese on the tomatoes, but it's all good. Our bartender was also amazing; awesome service! They had lots on the menu, so I'll definitely be back to try more!

Carissa E.

Yelp
This place is slamming. I had chicken and waffles with a peach compote. Believe me when I tell you this was scrumptious. It was so good. I can't wait to go return. The compote was made of peach with a bit of whisky . I haven't tried anything else on the menu but I will definitely return

Kiana F.

Yelp
Folk Art was pretty delicious! I have no complaints about my crab cake benedict with sauteed spinach, poached egg, and house hollandaise. I subbed for a biscuit because I do not like English muffins. The hashed browns (Waffle style) were fresh and HOT. Yum! My friend had a traditional American breakfast of waffles, bacon, and eggs, which she enjoyed. We had two cocktails: Champagne Punch (Vodka, pineapple juice, orange juice topped w/ champagne, and strawberry garnish) and the Folk Art '75 (Four peel gin, passion fruit liqueur, fresh lemon, topped with bubbly). I liked the 75' the best! Will come back if am back in Decatur!

D'Von A.

Yelp
I had the chicken biscuit with gravy with a fried egg along with the sweet potato donuts. Let me tell you something : this food was goodt!! Lord have mercy. I am thankful for finding this spot. Beautiful atmosphere with great ambiance!

Yelp
My BF and I came here for lunch and I have to say I was impressed! First off: the interior/vibes. Whoever designed the interior obviously has a keen attention to detail, because the entire place is gorgeous. Between the bar, the intricate booths and tables, and the wall art it gives off great energy. My only qualm in the design department is that the decor was very Atlanta-centric. It felt like they just transferred everything from their original location in Inman Park to Decatur without considering that Decatur is its own city with its own story to tell. That's more nitpicky though; I didn't subtract a star for it. Regarding food, I got the breakfast burrito while my boyfriend got the French Toast with s'mores add on. Both were presented beautifully and tasted good, although my boyfriend thought that the s'mores french toast was too sweet (a mute point, really, considering it is indeed s'mores french toast). Our side of mac and cheese wasn't the best, so in hindsight we should have tried the mac and cheese appetizer. The reason I'm giving three stars instead of five is mainly due to the waiters and management. The fun interior and trendy food was kind of undermined by a wait staff that seemed (in general) amateurish. Our waiter struggled to explain the dishes when my bf and I asked about them, and on multiple occasions I spotted FOH staff meandering around and chatting at length with coworkers. Not to say that front of house can't relax (as a server I know I certainly did sometimes) but it was odd that it was happening in front of all the patrons. There was also a family in front and next to us who had kids playing on the iPads at almost full volume. The tables around them, ourselves included, took it in stride but it was irksome. I wasn't sure why management never asked them to tune it down a bit, but it did reflect poorly on the restaurant.

Briana W.

Yelp
This place was super cute! It's a southern brunch spot. I enjoyed my visit but not sure if I would say I would feel like necessarily coming back when I'm back in the area. Service was quick and accommodating. The only thing I will say if you are vegan or don't eat eggs there isn't many options on the breakfast side. Parking is street parking or there are parking garages near by.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
The food was great. They wouldn't let me trade out my drink from vodka for tequila. Our waiter was nice and communicated well. It wasn't as crowded when I went on a Sunday, nice vibes, but the location in Inman park plays music by Atlanta artists which I loved.

Lori B.

Yelp
What a gem to find on a random weekend in Atlanta! After spotting Folk Art in Decatur, with a crowd out front, we decided to see if the wait was worth the hype. And it was! Plus, street parking around the corner was free. We were open to first-available, which included inside at a table or at the bar, or at a table outside. We waited about 20 minutes around 11:30am on a chilly Saturday in early November for a table, which was much shorter than the estimated wait. We were seated outside along the sidewalk, but the inside décor was super cute, and I kinda regret not waiting a bit longer (now that I'm not starving). Their menu is solely online, via QR code, but we're accustomed to that now. Our server was Evan and he was fantastic. By the time we ordered, I'd realized the heater next to our table wasn't on, so I asked Evan about it and he literally changed out the propane tank to get it going for me. This Florida girl appreciated that! Y'all, the food!!! First of all, we had a tough time deciding because everything sounded delicious. I finally chose the Fowl Play for my meal. This entrée featured fried chicken on a giant sweet potato & buttermilk waffle with whiskey-peach compote. #ProTip: ask for the compote on the side. Syrupy & chunky, this compote was incredible, and I'm not especially a peach or whiskey fan. Both pieces of chicken were crispy & juicy, and perfectly fried. And the fluffy waffle was so decadent that I didn't realize sweet potatoes were in the batter until writing this review. I added a side of collard greens and my taste buds are still thanking me. The greens had sweet notes with zero heat. And bacon. It was almost as if Folk Art asked me how I would like my collard greens... and this was exactly it. Hubs chose "corn grits" as a separate side, mainly because he knows I want grits. But these grits actually had cooked corn kernels mixed in them! How have I never found these before now?! Thick & chunky, but NOT dry, these grits had CORN! Plus the grits had a bit of sweetness which you know I loved. Hubs' hash browns were perfect, in spite of the onions. He wanted hash browns but so many places can't get them right that I've given up on ordering them myself. These were fantastic, and I just ate around the onions (no allergy; just a strong dislike). I also ordered an Espresso Martini and it was outrageously flavorful. So rich, I sipped on it throughout our meal. Evan kept our water glasses full so I was never thirsty. As I mentioned previously, inside is very cute. Vintage style throughout, plus a diner-like bar, though the dining room itself is not large. I loved the tile floors & vaulted ceilings, and I certainly want to dine here again when we're in the Atlanta area.

Julie R.

Yelp
I love the location in Inman Park, but this location looks like an imitation at best. We got there at 4:30 after paying to park, and they said they're closing early, even though the hours on the internet say that they close at 5. I noticed that someone scratched all the close times off the window. I guess they don't want to commit to specific hours which makes it hard to patronize the restaurant. When in doubt, go to Leon's nearby, which never disappoints.

Rob C.

Yelp
A definite yes if you're looking for a good breakfast spot. I'm glad I had a chance to check it out. There were a couple things that caught my eye here so I went with my gut feeling and I sure was right. I had the giant breakfast burrito with veggie sausage along with the eggs Benedict and the Folk Southern Fried. Everything was good until the last bite. For parking you have to pay in their parking structure. If I remember correctly it's $5 for two hours. They don't validate parking either in the structure. You can try for street parking but it's hit or miss and you have to pay the meters.

Jorge G.

Yelp
We were visiting friends as we were passing through town and ended up stopping in for brunch. It was Father's Day and the place was buzzing, but in a good way. There was a wait, but hey, if you can order a Bloody Mary and mimosa while you are waiting with it just being added to your bill, sign me up. There was a chill vibe and although I did see other prior reviews stating that the kitchen made it sound noisy, did not get that impression. Food, excellent, wait staff on point. I don't remember the young man's name that was serving us, but he was relatively new, however you would have not know it. He had great suggestions, was quick and pleasant considering he was working 3 or 4 tables outside.. The area where the restaurant is located is quaint; we like it so much we went back two days later. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Party of 3, Saturday for brunch at 1130. First, this is a very cute place. Plenty of room to feel comfortable. Second, the service was good, not overly bothersome. Now, the food. Let me tell you, the sweet potato pancakes, eggs, bacon, and grits and toast were simply amazing. Perfect temperature. One of my dining companions had an omelette with salmon. I haven't given a five star review in a while, and are reserved for five star fancy restaurants, but this place was pretty special. Highly recommend! Didn't have time to take photos, but I thought the price was reasonable also for the quality and quantity.

Yelp
The food was really good and the staff is very friendly. The grits are kinda sweet and that's weird but other than that the food was great. We will be returning.

Yelp
Fired green tomatoes were bland, came frozen- cook to order. The blue cheese crumbles got me lost. It took several minutes for someone to come and greet and serve me. An assistant came and took my order. I ordered the Corner Store Reuben with a side of chili. The sandwich was made up of bits and pieces of overcooked corned beef. The bread was drenched in butter and did not taste fresh. I had to send the chili back because it was not hot. No one checked up nor checked back on me. They were doing their own thing. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing; but it seemed like they had 1-2 servers on the floor.i would probably visit other lunch/ brunch establishments that are attentive and are engaged with delighting each guests.

Yelp
I can't wait until I return. Initially wanted my traditional savory breakfast options but then I saw the short ribs. Ever since my first visit I've never strayed from these ribs. Highly recommend! Also get there early if you have a large group.

Yelp
Stop by for breakfast, and the sign stated to seat ourselves. Sat down and there was a lady cleaning a table, but never greeted us she just kept cleaning the table until a few mins later she said our waitress will be right with us. Took a while for the waitress to come by though. Menu was online with a QR code. I ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon. The Benedict consisted of grilled tomatoes, sautéed spinach, pouched egg, and their house hollandaise sauce. It was pretty simple and everything blended ended well. It was defiantly a lot better with added hot sauce. Egg was cooked well. It was a bit pricey for just a sandehich and no sides. Service was a bit slow, and the staff were not attentive. No customer service here. Too bad it is paid street parking.

Yelp
I went with a vegetarian for lunch and neither of us left a crumb. The food was so good. The staff was really friendly. Sat ourselves, our server was really sweet and gave great recommendations. He really let us look and enjoy that the menu and allowed us to take our time. The food came out quick. Wasn't really packed but it was busy. Next time I'll try a cocktail after hours. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
This is my first time at Folk Art and I really enjoyed my experience. I went on a weekday around 10:30am and it wasn't so busy. My service was quick and the food came out fast. I ordered the chicken and waffles although it's called something different and I can't remember the name. I thought the flavors were great. The chicken was juicy and the waffles were like a pumpkin spiced flavor. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes whenever I'm in the area!

Yelp
Love Folk Art, food is a 4 of 5... not the most amazing brunch spot but you won't regret visiting ... will be back

Yelp
Food and service were both average. The short ribs and grits lacked seasoning and the dish wasn't very warm when it reached the table, which was a letdown. Our waitress put in the wrong order but ultimately made up for it. Also you have to pay for coffee by the cup for diner quality coffee. Probably wouldn't return.

Yelp
The wait was short, our Baileys coffee was to die for, the food was beyond excellent and our waitress Tanny was outstanding.

Yelp
I think the food was decent. The ambiance was nice. It's Decatur so this is probably a go to for those in and around the area. Service was good. They tried to add a twist with the peach compote or what have you but it was a little much for me. The chicken was just ok.

Yelp
We went here for Mother's Day, arrived well before they opened, only to get the worst seat in the house...by the front door. It was cold out and people were holding the door open while waiting in line. Grits were terrible...as a true southerner, no one puts corn kernels in grits. Their "beignets" were really sweet potato doughnut holes. Their coffee was so bad I sent my husband down the street for a proper cup. Service was ok.
