What a fun little place! Very unique place to hang out and have a glass of wine, a cocktail beer, or tea. They offer a small bite style menu for food. We had the tiger prawn, shishito peppers, and the most delicious salted pretzel with a spicy mustard. There are some tables to sit at or you can sit at the bar. They also have a few cozy areas to hang out. There is an amazing selection of records for purchase and they are all displayed neatly and organized. Some nights they have live music with special guests. And they even have a big TV to watch football! The vibe here is very chill and fun. I highly recommend you go check it out.

My wife, cousins and I went here Sunday night and they had a DJ playing music and a TV playing in the background playing some scenes from Mardi Gras then after we order drinks they decided to put on mammy on YouTube for some reason. Our drink was watered down and we never got our nuts and olives we ordered. Only black people in there maybe we came on the wrong night.

TLDR; fantastic shop, excellent selection, kind and knowledgeable proprietor, 10/10 recommended! Primarily this review is for the record store experience, though I did get an oat latte there which was delicious. My family was visiting the area for a Thanksgiving reunion, and my BIL and I were hankering for some RSD action. Folklore came up in a Google search, and so we planned an excursion. Everything about the shop was terrific. Selection was great, including many RSD specific titles, and the selection that was already available in the shop also yielded a few surprise finds that we were both delighted with. To boot, they had a cool bonus when you spend over a certain amount you get to pick a book from their selection of 33 1/3 books. The person who was helping us was, I assume the owner from what I could tell and they were very knowledgeable about the records, friendly, and just so easy going. Highly recommend a visit if you’re ever in the area. We’ll be making our way back the next time we’re up in Northern California.

Stopped by this cute spot while in Napa and really enjoyed it! The drinks were fantastic — creative and well-balanced. Service was so-so, but not bad. Food was solid, with lots of fun little plates to share. We tried the tacos, charcuterie board, and the smoked trout dip (my favorite!). Loved the ambience — the old vinyl and great tunes gave it a cool, non-pretentious vibe. It was pretty loud, though to be fair we were in the corner right by the speakers. Still, I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxed, casual night out. Wish I’d taken photos — next time!

Had an unfortunate experience on Friday night. A group of four of us walked in expecting to enjoy some cocktails while deciding where to have dinner and left feeling unwelcome and potentially profiled(?). We asked a waitress for a table and she stated that it was reserved. We then checked in with another staff member who confirmed that they do not take reservations. This, coupled with the fact that the waitress who told us the table was reserved took our credit card before we even had drinks in our hands and said, “we’re just so busy and have to make sure we get those cards…” as if implying that we would not pay for our order, left a bad taste in our mouths. The person who we talked to the second time ended up comping the drinks and apologizing but it was too late. Too bad because the dj was doing a good job. Employees need to be taught to serve everyone, regardless of what they look like, with the same level of courtesy and hospitality.

Great cocktails- best in Napa. Excellent food. Lots of options. Super wine list full of great wines from the world. Locals love this place!

We normally come here from suisun for our vinyls and especially for record store day. We came out here today to support them for record store day again. They advertised that they were opening early at 9am for RSD. We arrived early like most do to line up, before 8 in the freezing cold. The owner and employees didn't even show up till at 9. My wife had an appointment at 10:15 so in the end after waking up early, driving 30 minutes, and waiting in the cold for almost 2 hours, we had to leave without being able to get the records we wanted so that we didn't miss her appointment. Im disappointed because it was a waste of our entire morning and it felt like she didn't respect her clientele, including the people that had been waiting outside for hours. Unfortunately, that lack of care is a deal breaker.

Wow! Funky, welcoming spot with an impressive music playlist, top notch latte, eclectic vinyl collection, run by friendly folks who know all the good things. I tucked into an insanely good mushroom sandwich while listening to Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2U” (while gazing at a portrait of Patti Smith) - a perfect metaphor for this place. Unique, fabulous, addictive.

What a cool and fun place to hang out with Friends!!! Tonight is Trivia Night!!! We have 6 @ our Table and are having a Blast-Afron was (is) our waiter and is killing it as He's all by Himself on the floor!!! He will get a more than deserved tip!!

I've been a customer here multiple times and have always really enjoyed my visits. Their whiskey selection is top-notch, and on one occasion, I was even offered a complimentary chocolate chip cookie. I've dined at the bar before, and DJ, one of the staff members, has always been outstanding. Recently, I stopped by again to browse and briefly used the restroom. While I was still looking around, the owner approached me and, rather abruptly, assumed that my friends and I were only there to use the restroom and leave. She reminded me that their restrooms aren't public, even though I was clearly still browsing and had every intention of making a purchase. I explained that I've been a customer before and that I know DJ. She kept questioning me, repeating "Are you sure?" as if I was making it up. Then she suggested that I go and greet DJ as if she was calling my bluff. So I did just that. I greeted DJ, and he shook my hand, clearly recognizing me from previous visits. The whole interaction felt really unprofessional and off-putting by the owner/manager It's unfortunate to feel so unwelcome in a place I've genuinely enjoyed in the past. I wanted to keep browsing and purchase something, but after that I just left. I'm now second-guessing whether I want to return, especially after being treated as if I didn't belong. *Update* Owner responded to my google review stating that she only observed my friends and I walking in and using the bathroom only. Which is false. We made it our priority to browse her selection and she even said "excuse me" to get by my friends and I. Then she states that my friends were just waiting around not doing anything when they were simply admiring the atmosphere and decorations. Keep in mind we were only in there for like 10 minutes before we felt unwelcome and left. If she thought we were using her place as a rest stop, she could've simply asked and done her due diligence. But her interaction and tone with me just showed that she assumed we were already up to no good.

Interesting idea... record store and cocktail bar. The cocktails were a little bit pricey so we stuck with wine and beer which was reasonably priced. The bartenders looked like they knew how to make a really good cocktail though. The place has board games you can play while you drink, so the wife and I played scrabble. Fun way to kill some time.

Basically.......record shop meets bar or vice versa. To be honest, I think I was more impressed with the bar than the record selection. Most of the records in the bins are new with some used ones sprinkled in. As someone who frequents record stores, I found the prices here to be higher than usual. The selection was just OK, but they did have a few collectibles posted on the wall. On the other hand, the bar itself is well appointed, open, well designed with a wide selection of alcohol to choose from. There is a small stage for a performer, and there's art for sale in the form of record art on the wall. It's definitely a nice place to grab a drink, but I came here looking for some records and left disappointed. It reminds me of someone trying to add their hobby to their business. Still worth a visit though, as the photos/video below attest.

The drink called "The Vibe" is absolutely a vibe. Went here on a Friday evening with my stepmom after stopping by the billiards spot next door, which was not her vibe at all. Since I went at night, it looked mostly like a chill spot that groups of friends go to enjoy some glasses of wine and hang for a bit. To the right, there is a record store, where you can have some fun "digging in the crates." They had a live DJ who was playing some house music when we were there. As it was Napa, the wine list was great but I can also vouch for the cocktails. I could tell the cocktail was made with some good strawberries, but the drink was balanced and not crazy sweet. The house made fruit roll up was a nice touch as well.

decided to stop by here to check it out. the vibe of the location is nice, has a gothy punk retro yet sophisticated theme. sorry if i didn't describe it well. the bar is beautiful, the record side is nicely in the open. art on the wall is awesome. i know vinyl's are the NEW old thing to have but prices were a bit up there. Don't mean to be rube but just peel off the old price tags..sorry homie. But don't let this comment stop you from checking it out, there is street parking as well as a parking lot in front. I wanted that Carly Simon vinyl... im a homie that likes them old rolas.

Came in a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Enjoyed some margaritas and a DJ spinning some jams. We enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the table seating they had available for those who wanted to sit down and chill. If you're ever looking for some vinyl to purchase while sipping on some drinks this is a cool spot in Napa!

In town for BottleRock and we saw a few posters around promoting brunch at Folklore... Saturday morning we decided to roll on through and check it out and I am so glad we did!!!! Don't know what I was expecting but walking in and seeing half a record store split with a nice old school dark wood style seating and full bar was a happy surprise! They were playing great music!! The staff was super friendly. A wine list that went on for miles. Food was limited but everything on the one page food menu looked delicious. We got the quiche and French ham sandwhich. The fresh potato chips with the sandwhich were so good, I highly recommend asking for the Dijon mustard. I would for sure come back here next time I visit Napa. They have a drag show tomorrow (Sunday) and it seems like it might be a regular thing.

Love stopping in Folklore! Nice bar, great small bites, and how can you go wrong with a bar that also sells records!! They have had a few album release parties and those are fun too! Stop by!

Folklore is a happening downtown Napa spot. They have an extensive wine list, beer and cocktails. We met friends there and had some drinks, we had a charcuterie board, warm nuts, and olives dish. Everything was delicious. The music was booming and the energy was alive. We were the oldest people there. I loved that they are family owned , they DJ their own music and you can buy records. The feel was like being in Berkeley, Portland or a college town. We really enjoyed it and it was a great meeting place.

Funky, eclectic spot in downtown Napa. Half cafe with a bar, half record store. Extensive wine list, interesting food menu, absolutely top notch service! Our group enjoyed a 3 hour visit. Pretty pricey, but it is downtown Napa after all. Pretty full on a Thursday night, apparently it's making a name for itself! Go locals!

Stopped in for some cocktails and this place was perfect. They had a million different delicious and unique drinks on their menu, also offer food but we did not order any since we were attending meat carnival later that night. Corpse reviver was my absolute favorite cocktail I tried, so citrusy and the perfect amount of alcohol flavor in my opinion. Bartender was lovely. A women (possibly owner or manager) asked if we'd like a small snack and we said yes since we were a teeny bit hungry, she brought us some beautiful bread with fresh ricotta and luxurious olive oil drizzled over top and wow what a perfect little complimentary appetizer! The vinyl section was great to browse through and they had someone in the dj booth playing records. Very cool vibe. Would return.

What a vibe! It's a cafe and record store in one, with tall ceilings that carry dynamic sounds of music throughout the space. We stopped by for brunch on a Saturday, and the menu was refreshingly eclectic, ranging from vegan or pork Pozole Verde, to Jambon Beurre, two types of quiche, tartine, skillets. And if you're a fan of a lengthy drink list, and specialty cocktails, you will hit the jackpot here. There's bar seating and about 13 tables. And tomorrow, Sunday, they have a drag brunch (gasp!). Very exciting. Great music, tasty food, superb cocktails. Check it out. Oh and of course don't forget to go home with at least one record from their stellar collection.

A pretty cool spot - cocktails, food, vinyl records, books, and more! We stopped in before a show at the Uptown Theater down the block and snagged a table. Lots of regulars here, but a good percentage of apparent first timers as well. We settled into some cocktails (wine and a whiskey sour) and ordered some dessert (the burnt miso cake). Even though it was busy, service was fast and efficient. Our empty wine glass disappeared sometime during processing of our check (we never saw the pickup) and we had multiple people check on us to see if we needed anything else or if we were missing anything. Just a cool spot!

Folklore is a place you must experience! This is my first visit and a great day, well spent with my daughter, downtown Napa! The vibe here is amazing as is the service! The bartenders offer the best service and we feel at home here! EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE! Nowhere else can you browse a fine collection of music albums and perhaps make a purchase too and then go sitdown at the bar or table and sip on a fine cocktail or two! We met the owner, Faith, and she's very warm, compassionate, and welcoming! Thank you very much for the wonderful experience! We will be back again soon!

A great place for artists to hangout. An eclectic mix of music and unique take on a wine bar. They have a wine here called Parador which you can order in many vintages & styles, in my opinion one of Napa's best kept secrets on value for the price. The staff is always happy to see you & makes it a great time. Looking forward to the next time!

Wouldn't It Be Nice if Downtown Napa had a great record shop? It does! A fun fun fun record shop & bar/cafe. Spacious, set up aesthetically but also practical for flipping through the racks of vinyl. Place has good vibrations that makes you want to keep looking & looking - and hey if you need a breather have a cocktail or a coffee, or both! A brilliant addition to downtown Napa.

I can't believe this place has no reviews on here. Where to begin? Who doesn't love a record store/bar/cafe? There is always vinyl playing, records run the gamut from grunge to motown to modern pop to metal and more. They have amazing cocktails, solid wine and beer list, and delicious food options. The duck rilette with brandied currants and jambon beurre came with a generous amount crispy, crusty french bread. Whoever dreamt up this place has great taste. What a great vibe! Everyone is so nice as well. Come as you are.

At first glance the record might seem expensive, but there's a lot of vintage vinyl here that's being sold for less than it typically goes for. Chill environment, lovely people running the place.

Amazing drinks and food. Excellent customer service. All of the bartenders and staff have always been welcoming and friendly. 10/10 Would recommend coming here for any special occasions or even just to hang out!

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Bartender was beyond rude. Apparently moving chairs together so a group of 6 can sit together is a war crime. Also don't ask for sweetener in your coffee. Even though they have a full blown espresso machine they "are a bar not a coffee shop, man". Incredibly inhospitable.

This place is Amazing! For the excellent Service by a very friendly and professional staff! We enjoyed so much the food, the cocktails, the wine and the music too. Do not hesitate to bring your friends.

Cute spot in Napa! We came in for dinner and drinks, the cheese and charcuterie was the winner YUM, but so expensive. Part of the store is a vinyl shop, very cool. But with that being said the music was too loud, we couldn't hear each other at the table, definitely more of a quick drink, and peruse some vinyls type of place, not somewhere I'd try to hang out over dinner.

Absolutely love Folklore in Napa! My favorite bar/record shop ever. Who doesn't enjoy shopping with a cocktail in hand, crafted by some of the top mixologists in Napa? And don't miss the cafe--it's fantastic! You won't be disappointed.

Extremely disappointing experience. The bar was empty, yet it still took the bartender 5-10 minutes to get to us. The manager had to step in to take our order. We ordered their gin fizz, which was tasteless and clearly overpriced at $17 -- the fancy ice cube seemed to be the only premium. To top it off, when we paid in cash, they took it without offering any change. When we didn't ask, they just kept it. Feels like theft. We won't be back. For a better experience, head to the Arboretum just around the corner.

We stopped in for a glass of wine each after dinner. The street outside was deserted. (Napa is quiet in the evening!) Table service. Friendly staff. Two glasses of wine cost $32. The music was a c.2000 playlist which was too loud for us to tolerate for more than one drink. Half the space is given over to vinyl for sale, which seemed to range in price from roughly $10 to $70 per item.

Love this place. I'm in Napa doing a custom construction job and like the vibe after working in this suck heat all day.
