Stopped in on our way to another place, this was a super pleasant surprise. Bartenders and team were all accommodating and attentive, explained everything very thoroughly and were engaged throughout our time there. The drinks were first class and extremely detailed. Giving sochu a try was fun! Would absolutely recommend the tasting menu but their a la cart cocktails were all fantastic.

Honestly, I had less expectation before coming. I’d been to Mixology Salon at Ginza Six and wasn’t too impressed. I only came because a friend kept recommending it. But I ended up loving it so much, I came back two days in a row. I’m usually not really into Japanese Shochu, but I was obsessed with this Flying Fish Sour (with the picture)! The staff were super friendly and spoke great English. Can’t wait to come back for round three!

This is a fun cocktail bar that focuses on sake based drinks. It’s highly recommended you have reservations or you may be rushed for drinks or need to arrive early. The drinks are creatively made, though I think their sister bar, memento mori, was more unique and distinct. They had an adventurous drink called the Flying Fish Sour which was surprisingly tasty, not at all what I thought it could be. After each cocktail is served, they also give you a small sample of the sake they used in the cocktail. Overall, a fun experience as with most of the cocktail bars by this group. Worth checking out if you are a cocktail enthusiast!

Very cute lady bartendering our drinks - quite engaging Tastes are simple, sake cocktail is like sake, well you know what I mean - its ok for happy hour so we quickly finished two within an hour Interesting conversations with next table - we are all global travelers :)

This bar is fantastic (and shares a name with the best Taylor Swift album...) - the cocktails are all incredible and the bartenders like to explain the origins of the drinks, which is very cool to learn. The cocktails are beautiful and the service is so lovely. We actually liked this place so much that we went there two nights in a row. (Their bar snacks were delicious honey-persimmons... also incredible)

Atmosphere: 8/10 Gold Bar is located inside the EDITION Hotel in Tokyo and honestly feels like it was lifted straight out of New York or LA. It has a very American, lounge-y vibe with flashy gold accents and modern decor. The backbar is seriously impressive. There’s a live DJ, which adds some energy, but the music gets a bit too loud—so not the best spot for conversation. Drinks: 6/10 Recommendation: — The drink menu is super unique—graffiti-style design where certain parts glow under black light, which is a fun twist. There’s a good variety of cocktails, but the actual drink execution just didn’t hit the mark. Some were too boozy, some too weak—just not well balanced overall. They have decent coasters and okay glassware. Some drinks came with nice matching garnish, others didn’t have any. Presentation was fine, but nothing memorable. Service: 7.5/10 Staff was friendly, but not very attentive - took long time to order. Water was served on arrival, complimentary snacks, and wet (paper) towels available. Prices are above average for Tokyo, and honestly, the service level didn’t match the price point. This bar made it to #76 on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 extended list. Based on my visit, I don’t think it deserves a spot in a top 100. It just didn’t live up to the hype.

Experienced some of the most elegant and smooth tasting sake in this little hidden bar. Team there is amazing and warm. Another great “will often go back to” places until this charming train track.

Google
Great hidden spot for sake and shochu based cocktails. They were very accommodating and managed to sit us inside while the bar was full already. Drinks are well executed and well balanced, with some interesting flavour profiles. Very cozy and intimate atmosphere.
