Folklore is a small, cozy bar with a beautifully intimate atmosphere - the kind of place where you instantly relax and settle in. The focus on sake-based cocktails is refreshing and thoughtful, and every drink feels carefully balanced and intentional. The snacks are just as memorable. The smoked daikon radish with cream cheese was outstanding - simple, comforting, and perfectly paired with the drinks. The way the cocktails and food work together really elevates the whole experience. It’s a quiet, welcoming space with great attention to detail, ideal for unhurried conversations and discovering something a little different. A lovely spot that stays with you long after you leave.

Jan 13, 2026 Drinks didn’t taste bad but not anything as memorable and flavorful as their poetic descriptions and pitifully small. Had to wait outside for 25–30 minutes and even finished our first drinks out there, which was disappointing because we decided on this place after being told we could get in as soon as someone left. I wouldn’t have minded the wait if expectations had been set properly, but previous customers didn’t leave as quickly as the staff promised and they lingered for far too long. Spent the last 40 mins inside the bar and it was dark, artsy and cozy. Less elaborate and more minimalistic than its sister store Mixology Akasaka I’ve been to. While I liked the coherently mysterious aesthetics among the brand, I wouldn’t come back here since the drinks were way overpriced and the wait was too long, which was a pity. Bill was over ¥10,000 for 4 drinks split between 2 people, including a ¥880 seating charge per head. Didn’t expect it to be so full at 9:30pm on a Tuesday. Clientele were mostly inbound tourists. I heard several were from Hong Kong. Anyways, I think the bar should cut the seating time to 75-90 mins instead of 120 mins if they want a faster turnover.

Wonderful cozy cocktail bar. All drinks featured local alcohol with creative flavors. Service is wonderful and they take walk ins but reservation is recommended since place is quite small. Drink and snacks were delicious and staff spoke great English. Great for solo visits

Stopped in on our way to another place, this was a super pleasant surprise. Bartenders and team were all accommodating and attentive, explained everything very thoroughly and were engaged throughout our time there. The drinks were first class and extremely detailed. Giving sochu a try was fun! Would absolutely recommend the tasting menu but their a la cart cocktails were all fantastic.

We visited a few weeks ago. This cute little cocktail bar had some of the best cocktails we’ve had in Japan. Presentation was beautiful. And the unique cocktails tasted amazing. They even use homemade ingredients that they infuse theirselves. I highly recommend visiting.

Honestly, I had less expectation before coming. I’d been to Mixology Salon at Ginza Six and wasn’t too impressed. I only came because a friend kept recommending it. But I ended up loving it so much, I came back two days in a row. I’m usually not really into Japanese Shochu, but I was obsessed with this Flying Fish Sour (with the picture)! The staff were super friendly and spoke great English. Can’t wait to come back for round three!

This is a fun cocktail bar that focuses on sake based drinks. It’s highly recommended you have reservations or you may be rushed for drinks or need to arrive early. The drinks are creatively made, though I think their sister bar, memento mori, was more unique and distinct. They had an adventurous drink called the Flying Fish Sour which was surprisingly tasty, not at all what I thought it could be. After each cocktail is served, they also give you a small sample of the sake they used in the cocktail. Overall, a fun experience as with most of the cocktail bars by this group. Worth checking out if you are a cocktail enthusiast!

This bar is fantastic (and shares a name with the best Taylor Swift album...) - the cocktails are all incredible and the bartenders like to explain the origins of the drinks, which is very cool to learn. The cocktails are beautiful and the service is so lovely. We actually liked this place so much that we went there two nights in a row. (Their bar snacks were delicious honey-persimmons... also incredible)
