How to Plan a Sweet and Savory Snack Crawl Through Flushing - Eater NY

"Followsoshi offers a variety of Taiwanese dishes. A notable item is the bing, a Beijing street pastry consisting of a round wrapper cooked on a flattop, coated with egg, and folded over a crunchy cracker with shredded cabbage, multiple savory and spicy sauces, and common fillings like a hot dog." - Robert Sietsema

Google
Jianbing was so so so good! We just got the top-of-the-menu recommended on, but their options are very diverse and interesting. To-go only, but well wrapped. Some cold noddle options, beef patties. Quite nice and made right in front of you. Cash only

Google
For $6… this has to be the best deal in a 70km radius. Like seriously. The classic / signature jianbing was delicious!!! Crunchy, slightlyyyy greasy, slightly sweet. Like absolutely elite. It’s also HUGE. Takeout only. It only took ~5 mins to order and get the food. I really just love this place.

Google
The jian bing was disappointing. The crispy noodle was fried in old oil and was super greasy. They were so stingy with the scallions & cilantro that I couldn’t even taste it and I had to go back and ask them to put more in. The sauce was not that spicy or tasty. We also tried the Peking duck stuffed one and there was a decent amount of duck but not sure I would pay the $5 difference next time. They were fast and efficient with the order taking. Take out only with 2 small tables in the back. The other place that is probably better is closed on Sundays. Dec 2024.

Google
I’m just happy to get a jianbing at this point really. Is it the best jianbing I’ve ever eaten? No. But these days my expectation for Chinese food quality / authenticity in NY is quite low. This suffices. It’s ok. Kinda pricey. No seatings (around 8 seatings in 2 tables in the back, firmly occupied for hours by some). Accepts WeChat pay. I like the roasted duck flavor.

Google
Unfussy and inexpensive take out food. Most of the options can be easily consumed while holding it in one hand or the go. I tried the cold noodle (it's served hot) and the meat patty. The baked buns were cold and not well baked. I didn't try the jian bing that everyone is raving about.

Google
Interesting to try new food. I had the jiangbing which is like a crepe filled with a fried dough, meat, and different sauces and flavors and spices. Very good! I want to go back and try the roasted cold noodles.

Google
The best snacks I've ever had in US. As a person who grew up in Beijing, I've been desperately looking for 驴打滚 (a glutinous snack like mochi with red bean paste filling and wrapped in soy bean powder) and 糖火烧 (a sweet dough without filling, made with brown sugar and sesame paste). This store made my dream come true. So authentic and giving me a nostalgic feeling. Price is fair too. Cash only.

Google
Never tried jianbing. This my first time.I choose peking duck. I’m obsessed.OMG I will get this every time I will saw.I’ll be back next time when I travel to flushing.

Yelp
Had my first roasted duck Jian Bing here, very nice assortment of flavors/textures and very large portion size so def share! I enjoyed the crunch on the inside, the soft egg, and the subtle bites of chilli/other sauces. The service was friendly, ask them to split it in two bags if you're sharing with a friend! As per the duck, I've had crispier, more flavorful duck in other places.

Yelp
I had a Peking duck jianbing. It was yum and I enjoyed it. Good portion ( I shared it with 3 including myself, and it was a good snacking). Just a little too greasy -I personally felt so. Having some oolong or jasmine tea helped me refresh it (I even wiped off some grease with napkins). I want to try another one and rolling donkey

Yelp
I've been here twice now for their jianbing and both times were delicious. I've tried their duck one which is good, but last time I was here, we got a couple and all were yummy so definitely recommend checking out and getting whichever flavor speaks to you. The last time I was here, I got a red bean roll type thing which was chewy and yummy if you're in the mood for something with that glutinous texture. This is a carry-out, cash only place, but well worth the visit. My friend has had very delicious jianbing and she was impressed by this place. I would very much recommend.

Yelp
Very yummy very fresh and hot jiang bing! This tasted just as good as Taiwan! There's so many different toppings to choose from. The plain one is also good! This is more of a grab and go food option so you can eat it outside or bring it somewhere else.

Yelp
Always craving a good jianbing for breakfast and in the states it's so hard to find. This little stall blew me away and truly brought me back to the motherland with it's tasty crepe creation. Similar to a savory French crepe, it's a thin outer shell of egg. Then the inside is layered with sauce and different fillings like a crunchy crisp and hoison sauce. The option I chose was with Peking duck and it's freshly carved from the stall across. The meat was tender and juicy, the skin was crispy. Flavor was amazing. A little spicy with the spicy bean curd sauce but you can leave that out if needed. It comes with some lettuce and scallions inside as well. Definitely try it!

Yelp
Nestled in the same food court as Corner 28, Followsoshi serves up fresh jianbings and some other Northern Chinese snacks. I came specifically for their donkey rolls ($6) and picked up a chive pocket ($2.75) as well. The chive pocket was cold, but I really liked the combination of chives, vermicelli noodles, and scrambled eggs (though I did find it a little overseasoned). The donkey rolls were too soft and the red bean paste lacked any sweetness. However, unlike the donkey rolls over at Sheng Jin, these had a lovely smooth (albeit flavorless) paste. I left these on the counter overnight and they turned bad the next day, so I wasn't able to enjoy them for too long.

Yelp
Quicitop, formerly Followsoshi, stands out in Flushing, NY, offering exceptional Jian Bing (Chinese crepes) in a small, bustling food court. We indulged in the Peking Duck Crepe and Spicy Garlic Crawfish Crepe, both bursting with authentic flavors. The Donkey Rolls, featuring red bean mochi and Injeolmi, added a sweet touch to our culinary journey. Run by a super nice and enthusiastic lady who explained the menu with warmth, Quicitop's commitment to quality was evident in every bite. Despite the small, busy food court ambiance, the experience was delightful. I'm already eager for my next visit to enjoy another round of delicious crepes at Quicitop.

Yelp
I got the Vegetarian jianbing. It's so good! Love the flavors! To me, the jianbing is a pretty big portion, and it's just $8! Wow. Paid in cash.
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is great! We got the jian bing and it was beautiful and delicious! The service is always impeccable, getting you your food as fast as possible. The ambiance is great too! a little store that feels authentic and well maintained. Amazing for breakfast!

Yelp
I found these food spots on the whim, so I'm pleasantly surprised the food is hitting! Add these to your Flushing food crawl too! Followsoshi was hard to find on the maps, but it's located inside the Corner 28 storefront. It should be to your left when you go in. Not me thinking the Peking Duck Jian Bing ($10) was going to come out right away like a previous place did. Instead, these had a bit of a wait, so you know they're freshly prepared! I was disappointed by the price at first, but upon receiving the hefty packaging and looking in, I understood why. The jianbing is split into 2, and they were huge pieces, enough to be a hearty meal. I didn't enjoy jianbing my first time trying, but here, I don't mind having again. The same crispy fluffy juxtaposition of the egg and the crepe still remains. But unlike the previous place, these crepes were so much saucier and flavorful. You must add the scallion and spicy sauce if they ask! These additions really do wonders in upgrading the crepe. The delicious peking duck protein is also a must, and they give fatty big pieces with the crispiest skin. The jianbing may be hard and messy to eat, but they are worth the try!

Yelp
Fire duck jianbing A litte oily, but tastes so good. It's a small stall in a group of storefronts with no seating, so I would recommend this as a food crawl stop or grab-and-go!

Vito N.

Yelp
Duck Jianbing - the duck was very good but it only came with 2-4 pieces of duck, I split the jianbing with my partner and we both had one piece of duck - fried skin on the inside was great - wasn't a fan of the sauces inside but that's just a personal preference - overall, not enough duck and it tasted alright Would I come back for this? No.

Yelp
Followsoshi is also known as quicitop now! It took me forever to find it bc of the name change. So glad I found it, the lady there was very friendly. It's a tiny tiny shop but super busy since only one worker there. Delicious crepes, although I just had breakfast at another restaurant. I love the duck meat option since it's not seen often. I also got the sweet red bean desserts! It was the perfect sweetness for me! The portion size is huge too. Don't expect to dining in since it's tiny.

Yelp
Also known as Quicitop They are good at crispy jianbing, huge baos. Spicy crawfish is the best. Those are very worth it. The jujube soy beverage is good if you like that kind of flavor and texture. It's not a common drink but it is definitely fresh and taste exactly like the flavors they put into it.

Yelp
After reading about Followsoshi and seeing all the great photos on Yelp, I was intrigued and slightly salivating...ok, ok more like drooling (lol). So, of course, the first chance I got, I went searching for Followsoshi! Hint: it's a small food stand right next door to Corner 28 (they share an entryway). I went specifically for their Peking Duck Jian Bing...sadly, they were out of duck!!!! Noooo, how could this be, at 1pm on a Sunday?!?! Ok, I was disappointed for a minute but quickly chose two other Jian Bings to try: Braised Pork (#G on Jian Bing Menu) and the Ancient Spiced Beef (#D). They were both absolutely delicious and had completely different tastes. The Jian Bings are made fresh, to order but are made pretty quickly (see my photos). Hospitality and service was friendly & efficient. Note: if not eating the Jian Bing immediately, ask them to pack the ingredients separately. (They will pack the crunchy ingredients in a separate container). This will make the biggest difference when you eat this later. The crunchy goodness really adds great texture to the Jian Bing. I have to admit, this was a hot mess to eat, so expect to get down n dirty...and enjoy every single morsel! So worth it! I shall definitely be back, and I hope they have the Peking Duck available next time! Followsoshi!! :)

Yelp
I get their chives pancakes from here. It's pretty good and not as oily as other places. They have good customer service and not in a rush. This is inside corner 28 on the left side. It gets very crowded in there. I will try something different next time.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the hole in the wall place you need. Their jianbing is affordable and good. The serving size is also huge. Good value for money. The service is fast and it is made fresh. I also tried one of their rolling donkey, which is sticky rice with red bean (I believe). Love it, brings back such memory. I buy it and sit around the park around the apartments to eat.

Yelp
The meaning of Followsoshi is all the best blessing for life and the pronunciation is cute as a restaurant name. We were there randomly, their red sign catch my eyes and my friends didn't have Jian Bing Guozi, which is deep-fried dough sticks wrapped with thin pancake, before so we decided to give it a try. We had their Roasted Duck Jian Bing, Braised Pork wrap and Tang Huo Shao, which is a baked wheaten pastry with sugar layer. The food was amazingly delicious especially the Braised Pork wrap. They stuffed the wrap with braised pork & sour flavor sliced potato, the flavor was balanced with various texture. The staff was friendly, attentive and introduced the menu in details even they were super busy. They serve a great variety of traditional street food and we will try next time.
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
Flushing has the best street food, hands down! Followsoshi is a hidden gem, that was literally difficult to find at first as the original Corner 28 building is under construction - this popup is located next to it further down the street. I get the sense that the wait can be long as food is made to order, but its fun to watch the jian bings (think of it as a stuffed crepe) come together. We ordered the peking duck jian bing and pancake roll with braised pork, seaweed salad, and shredded potato. This type of food is best served hot; if you save it for later, it will lose its crispiness. The jian bing was crispy and flavorful, though the duck was a bit fatty (I'd go for a different protein next time). The pancake roll was the surprise WINNER -- if you like scallion pancake stuffed with meat, you'll love this. We intended this just to be a snack but the serving was so huge, we didn't need to eat dinner later.
google avatar

Alicia L.

Yelp
The jian bing here is really good! I like it better than the one from eight Jane because it's more saucy and you can add meat. We ordered one with sausage, and it was pretty solid. They also make it fresh to order and it comes out nice and warm. Around $7 for a whole one, which is good value since each one is pretty big and definitely shareable.
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
Followsoshi is a small stall across from Corner 28. They have various street food offerings but most go to get the jianbing, which is like a Chinese savory crepe with meat filling. They are cash only. I had the Peking duck jianbing. It was a lot more filling than I anticipated. It was my lunch. The crepe has a nice crispy texture in the inside with the crepe edges as well as the skin of the duck. There wasn't much duck but it was still good. The sauce they put on makes it a little salty with a slightly spicy kick. I could do with less sauce. It is a bit messy to eat. They cut the jianbing in half so it's a nice treat to share with someone.

Yelp
I'm nostalgic for my short stint living in Shanghai, where the savory layers of egg, crepe, crueller, scallions and hoisin sauce making up a Jianbing were a daily part of my breakfast routine. Now I find myself traveling great distances to get my paws on one of these street food snacks, but Followsoshi in Flushing made it more than worth my while. The Jianbing on their menu I had my eyes on was one filled with spicy crawfish-- if you're looking to transport your taste buds to NOLA this is much cheaper than a plane ticket. Like so many of the businesses in Flushing, Followsoshi exists as a tiny stall inside a food hall filled with several other stands. There's barely any room to stand and order your food, so we dashed in and out while we waited for our food to get prepared. Their kitchen area is located right next to the window so we basically had our faces pressed up against the window as we quelled our impatient appetites. The staff here sensed this and quickly delivered our food to our group waiting outside as soon as it was ready. A number of my friends enjoyed their roast duck and roast pork jianbings, but we all agreed that my spicy crawfish one packed the most punch. There was a generous amount of the mudbugs in my crepe, and after consuming the whole jianbing I was more than full for the day. It set me back about 10 bucks. I think I'll plan to stop here everytime I'm in Flushing moving forward.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible duck jianbing that I'll be dreaming about until next time. We also got roasted cold noodles, mini pork bao, crispy beef patties, and the rolling donkey rice rolls. It was all good, especially the bao, but I'd probably go to other places in the neighborhood for those items next time around. But I'll definitely be coming here for the jianbing.
google avatar

Yelp
4 stars for the Rolling Donkey rice rolls with sweet red bean. They're soft (mochi like) rolls filled with a lightly sweet red bean paste and they're super addicting. 3 stars for the rest. The beef jianbing I got was fine but honestly it tasted a bit soggy to me. To be fair, it might just be a personal preference thing - the NYT article mentions they use mung beans for the batter to make a softer crepe. I ate it pretty immediately after I bought it, so would definitely not recommend waiting to transport it home before eating it (or getting it delivered). On the other hand, I was a big fan of the beef that was used in the filling - it was tender and flavorful. The cold noodles were more interesting to me - it holds under the sauces better and I like the flavor profile. I got the classic version with sausage (aka hot dog) but didn't love the sausage - it falls out easily and doesn't really absorb the flavors. Perhaps one of the other filling options is the way to go (crawfish option was intriguing).

Yelp
I was introduced to this hidden gem in the heart of flushing, boy was I glad I ventured out in the snowy and cold New York afternoon for this! The shop itself is tiny and in the midst of food court with a lot of other shops, but this shop is the first one to the left as you enter so you definitely won't miss it. The owner is a kind and nice lady who explained our order was in the makes after we ordered despite being pretty busy with a lot of other orders. They are know for their jian bing which is absolutely delicious! We ordered the Peking duck jian bing with purple rice batter and braised pork jian bing. The Peking duck jian bing was super on point! With egg, lettuce, sauce, and the Peking duck; I wasn't sure what to expect but it has exceeded my expectations. The braised pork jian bing had braised pork, shredded potato, and seaweed salad. The braised pork was average, the pork seemed slightly too dry and didn't melt in my mouth as I would have expected, but the vinegary shredded potato and seaweed salad was a combination I had never tried but greatly enjoyed. I thought the seaweed salad would turn the jian bing too watery, but the Jian bing still tasted fantastic. Would definitely come back, and for all the jian bing lovers and scallion pancake lovers out there, this place is highly recommended!

Yelp
3.5 stars Located inside where Corner 28 is.. Read the review from The NY Times.. L ordered a Peking duck Jian bing and a lot of chive pockets. I thought my mom would enjoy the chive thing but she didn't like them. Too many chives. I think it had a tiny bit of egg and small pieces of rice noodles. Could've used a lot more egg for additional flavor. I thought it made a healthy snack but kinda pricey at $2 each. L loves chives so he ate three for a quick dinner since he had a heavy lunch. He really liked the Jian bing. I thought it was just ok. We did eat it over a hr after getting it.. so it was soggy but it wasn't crispy for others who ate it fresh. It had a good amount of duck. I'm just not a fan of Jian bing in general but I'm glad I tried it. I think it's kinda pricey for street food. I was leaning more toward 3 stars but I should've gotten the pancake wrap. At least L loved the J.b.
google avatar

Johnny Y.

Yelp
My friend loves how they make the potatoes stuffed in the wraps. It has that al dente kind of texture with a little Sichuan kick to it. It's definitely something different from what I normally would eat. Seems though Sichuan spots are blowing up everywhere in Queens. Perfect for that winter feels where the spices keeps you warm! Ordering one of those will definitely fill you up!
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
Wow the peking duck jianbing is actually amazing here. If you're not familiar with jianbing, it's kind of like a breakfast crepe with egg, veggies with a spread of sauce. This one had a solid amount of peking duck slices, and there's so much going on texture wise. I think they added youtiao (chinese donut) pieces in there or something because it had such a nice crunch. I also tried the rolling donkey, a mochi red bean dessert. It was decent, but I don't think that I would order it again. It didn't quite have the texture or red bean flavor I was looking for. The jujube soymilk was pretty good! At first I wasn't really feeling it, but the more I drank it, the more I appreciated the thickness and subtle jujube flavor.
google avatar

Yelp
Hand down to the best Chinese crepes AKA jianbing in town! I first learned about this place from food delivery apps and their Peking duck jianbing seemed really popular. There are several food stalls that sell Jianbing in flushing but I don't think any of them have the Peking duck topping. Luckily, around 8 bucks will get you the best of both world. This food stall is located inside Corner 28, which is located on the opposite side of You Garden on the 40 th Rd. You'd easily miss it if not paying attention. The jianbings are all made to order and the food prep itself is a great delight to watch. I like the texture of the crepe a lot which I believe is the key to a successful jianbing. I'm not a big fan of the paper think dosa style crepes that gets soggy easily and does not absorb the sauces well. It shouldn't be too thick either or it becomes chewy and heavy. Here, they do crepes the right justice - it's actually pretty close to the texture of a French crepe, soft, light and a little fluffy. Then with the rich flavored Peking duck (extra credit to the staff that gives out balanced meat and crispy skin), crunchy lettuce and crispy dough topped with hoisin sauce and hot sauce are the perfect combination.
google avatar

Mian W.

Yelp
Really good and affordable lunch. They don't skimp on the Peking duck either, it's pretty well stuffed (almost too much to eat without getting messy). Also nice that they take advanced orders/credit cards.

Chris L.

Yelp
So good. Got the Peking Duck Jianbing and it was amazing. They make it to order right in front of you and serve it hot and fresh. Sauce is slightly on the sweet side, but not mad at it. Really crispy duck and generous portion. Definitely getting this again Also, FYI they changed their name to Quicitop, in case anyone gets confused by the signage
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
I got the Peking duck jianbing and I really didn't like it. I was excited to try it because of the reviews I saw, but I honestly think the sauces they used overpowered the taste of the actual jianbing. I felt like I was eating straight sauce. Also the person who made my jianbing didn't change gloves when switching from taking my money and making the actual jianbing. It really looked like the same gloves were being used to handle everything going on in the store. Seeing that definitely didn't make me want to eat the jianbing. Later on, I noticed there was no sanitation rating for the place yet. I don't think I'll ever come back especially because I know I can better spend my $10 elsewhere.
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
Located across the street from Teso, don't miss this stand inside the food court. It's located on the left and is adorned with a black and red sign. We ordered the Peking duck jian bing, it was delicious! Nice and fluffy, with a bit of crunch. The duck was flavorful and tender as well. If you're looking for an affordable and quick snack, stop by and support local businesses!

Jessica Yiyu W.

Yelp
The most crispy inside, and most meaty beef I have ever had for a jianbing guozi! So delightful! You must try their pancake! They also serve pan fried noodles and other side dishes! Try them!

Eve K.

Yelp
We ordered peking duck and beef crepes, beef patty and red bean dessert. I will say its 3.5 stars instead of 3. Price was fair and crepes was filling. My husband liked the beef crepes, and he said it was pretty good. I had Peking duck but some of the pieces tasted gamy. Next time I will have other flavors instead.

E T.

Yelp
they were sold out of the first few things i tried to order (my bad, got there late in the afternoon) so i ended up getting the braised pork jianbing. i was INSANE hungry so i'm sure that helped, but i demolished it! definitely less crispy/wetter crepe than i've had before for jianbing which i didn't nec. love BUT that was far outweighed by how stuffed it was!! way more meat than i've had other places, just heftier in general which was exactly what i was looking for. excited to come back & try the hyped up roasted cold noodles someday when i wake up earlier haha. also they're in the same hall as a great duck bun stall so even more reason to stop by!
