Everything was delicious, the dishes were tasty and plentiful. The only thing I didn’t like was that in yesterday’s lunchtime menu, they told us that wine was included. So when they came to ask us which wine we wanted, we assumed it was the included one. Instead, they were selling us a €10 each wine that wasn’t included in the menu without telling anything. Only after the first glass they bring us the house wine. We would have ordered it anyway, but I think it’s a dishonest way to act. There were three of us, and we spent an extra €30.

Multi-step fine dining. Not our first. With the hefty price tag, we were ready to have our minds blown, but only two of the steps were noteworthy to us in the end, and this was a dissappontment. The service was immaculate, though. We didn't like the wines paired with the menu.

Perfect!!! I really admired the chef and I was expecting a lot: and it was better than I thought The service, the staff, the place, the food: everything! We ordered the simplest menu (35 euros) They served bread, water and wine, three plates (appetizer, main course and dessert) and they gave us an extra appetizer and a little dessert at the end I really expect to be able to afford the biggest menu (I’m sure it’s perfect) in the future Thank you!! The best restaurant I’ve been during my trip

Lunch @fondaespanya €38 for a three course meal including water and a glass of wine. such a great deal and the food was fire. The restaurant is recommended by Micheline guide. I like the dessert with the carrot sponge cake and mandarin sorbet the best :)

The ambiance is sophisticated yet the price range is very reasonable. Staff are very attentive, polite and accommodating. Especially their staff Jun.

We went for the day menu at lunch time and were blown away by the setting, food quality, taste and the service. For €35, it must be one of the best valued meals considering what we were getting was creative fine dining level experience. From entree to desserts, everything was great. The gazpacho with sorbet was a genius masterpiece.

A must in Barcelona! Definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to, from bistro to several 3* Michelin! Professional service and what can I say about the food! Incredible accuracy in taste, seasoning and presentation. The menu at 35€ is outstanding, so incredible that we went back the next day for lunch before our departure. I will return to Barcelona to taste the new menu and to discover the starred cuisine of Berasetegui that I had already discovered in San Sebastian!

Did the degustation menu as my husband wanted to try the marrow and pork. The meal was fantastic. It took around 3 hours in total. We did not do a wine pairing and were not offered more water after our first bottle, unfortunately. Highlights included the veal and marrow and mushroom and truffle amuse bouches, the hake that had echos of the fish throughout, and the strawberry and celery desert with Panna cotta. I also thought the raspberry and chocolate petite four was the most amazing bite. I think the chefs had a lot of fun with gastronomy. Lots of jellies in different dishes, tiny veggies like asparagus and carrots, and interesting flavors like seaweed. It's definitely a delicious meal at an amazing price point - for the two of around 170 euros ($176).

Yelp
With glowing reviews on The Fork and TripAdvisor, we made last minute reservations and thought we'd try it out. Excellent service, creative and flavorful food, a true experience. Tip: beware if you have food allergies or sensitivities due to limited menu (gluten, dairy, and seafood are plentiful and hard to replace in dishes). Food/drinks: You have 2 options: a tasting menu, and a really long tasting menu. We went with the really long one that had 4 apps, 3 mains, and 2 desserts. Sadly a bad lunch meant I had to watch my partner enjoy, instead of fully partaking myself, but techniques were innovative and flavors I did taste (esp of seafood and mushroom) were strong!! Accompanied by a dry fine bubble bottle of local cava recommended. Tip: make sure you have more than 2 hours (we didn't, due to curfew) or it will feel rushed! Service: Excellent. Eduardo was attentive, helpful, explained dishes, fretted over my non-eating, and nudged my partner (politely) to eat faster due to the many many courses. Ambiance: So the main restaurant is a beautiful, eclectically decorated room...which is not where we were seated. We were in the bar area of the room on the other side, which was stately, muted, and felt decadent. Intimate (ie, alone) but great for watching the chefs prepare desserts! Overall, a unique, romantic multi course meal that's great for having lots of time and a very open (seafood-friendly) pallet.

Yelp
I can't believe this restaurant hasn't earned at least one Michelin star! If I were to guess why it would be the service. It was excellent and attentive and our waiter could speak English well. However, there were a few minor missteps that kept the service from being at the superb level necessary for Michelin star rating. The dining room was nicely appointed and we were fortunate enough to be seated next to the large sculptured marble fireplace. On to the food - it was outstanding. I dined with my two daughters and we each selected the more extensive tasting menu. This was by far our best meal in Europe during our three week trek through Italy France and Spain. Each dish was more delicious than the last and we left feeling fully satisfied in every way. They were also able to seamlessly accommodate our gluten allergy (celiac) and the menu didn't miss a beat. The meal began with GF bread, which was a short baguette. There were four flavored butters and and an olive oil accompaniment. All excellent. Next they brought two amuse-bouche to begin the meal "in the traditional Spanish style" meaning they alluded to tapas. After this the tasting menu began and our waiter explained each dish in detail. The meal was heavy on the seafood which was fine with me but my one daughter isn't such a fan of food from the sea and tired of it by about the third course. Otherwise, for me and my other daughter, each dish was a beautifully presented, prepared, creative and a delicious melody of flavors. I also ordered the premium wine tasting which offered several compelling wines including an uninspiring cava, followed by an excellent dry German Riesling with a beautiful petrol aroma. The highlight was a Chardonnay from a nearby wine producer. It was outstanding. The most interesting wine of the night was the dessert wine, which was a late harvest Monastrell. This was a truly beguilingly wine and fascinating to taste. The two desserts were also excellent as were the petit fours to end our superlative meal. Overall this was a wonderful dining experience in Barcelona!

Yelp
Beautiful space, exquisite tile work but most importantly exquisite food. My husband and I chose the tasting menu (40 euros) per person and it was SO WORTH IT! The beautiful food just kept coming & we can't think of a more lovely meal we have ever eaten.

Yelp
This is a romantic ,elegant, full of charm ,with excellent trained staff that are constantly making sure that every second of your stay is memorable.. Our server was a tall ,blonde gentleman that explained the menu since is very different from everything I've ever seen is the United States. Prices are high but the quality is worth every dollar spent. 5 stars ! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Had dinner with two friends after a concert at the Palau de la Musica. I had the "Chicken with lobster, grilled corn cob and king trumpet mayonnaise" which was very good. One of my friends had the "40 day aged beef with potatoes". My other friend had the "Pork trotter ravioli, sobrassada (pork sausage), truffle and mushrooms" which she thought was good. We all had the "Chocolate coulant with tangerine ice cream" for dessert. Wow! Fantastic! The restaurant is very beautiful. It was designed by Domènech i Montaner, a noted Modernisme artist. You might want to ask to take a look at the beautiful Mermaid Room by Ramón Casas which is used to serve hotel guests breakfast. It is a STUNNER. There are also tours of the hotel where the restaurant is on Tuesdays and Fridays. The service was excellent and location is just off the Rambles. A great opportunity to see an art nouveau location and have dinner at the same time!

Yelp
I am not sure how Fonda Espana received a Michelin status. The food was poorly presented, room freezing, and service extremely poor. We shared in the beginning allergies to seafood for half the table and no desire for any sea organisms and still were brought seafood. In addition we were a multicultural table and were served Whites first, Asians second, and blacks were served lightest to darkest. Fonda Espana is of poor taste and should be ashamed of their treatment of others.

Yelp
Very beautiful decor. We got the set menu which was delicious but very seafood heavy. Staff were friendly and the dessert was exceptional.

Yelp
We were in Barcelona for our honeymoon and wanted an inexpensive restaurant that was still good (hard to find). Fonda is one of the best restaurants we have ever been to! We ordered the cabbage and mashed potato starter and loved it! It's hard to go wrong with mashed potatoes, sausage and truffle juice. For our entrees, I ordered the veal sweetbreads (one of the best meals I've ever eaten) and my husband had the beef tartare. Both fantastic! Our entire meal, including drinks (2 glasses of wine each), came to about $55 or so. Definitely recommend going here.
