How the Pandemic Changed Barcelona’s Restaurant Scene | Eater

"An unpretentious Catalan eatery in Gràcia favored by locals for its traditional, comforting dishes — notably the cap i pota (head-and-foot stew) — and the warm hospitality of owner Pedro Baño Fernández; a strong commitment to sourcing Catalan ingredients, including razor clams from the Delta de l’Ebre, helped cultivate a loyal regular clientele during the pandemic." - Suzy Taher

Run by the owners themselves, Fonda Pepa feels personal in the best way. The food is out of this world: tomatoes aguachile, oysters with ceviche juice, fish tacos, and that insane surf & turf - a pollo a la brassa with prawns. Oh, and that flan!!! I am still thinking of it. Vintage vibes inside, leafy patio out back, and food that mixes Catalan soul with a touch of Mexico. Don’t miss it!!

We went here on our last night in Barcelona with high expectations and we were not disappointed! The food was of excellent quality, a treat to your taste buds. Absolutely justifies the price tag. We particularly liked the Taco vegetal, it has the right flavor palette for a Mexican dish, which is rare to find for a vegetarian taco.

Embracing tradition with a twist, this is a nice option for a quiet meal. Very reasonably priced and the right space between tables (much appreciated). Based on local delicacy, the menu consists of small plates to share. The patio could do with a bit of redecorating, I found the sala was more curated. Definitely follow your server's lead on the choice of wine.

If you are looking for a modern mediterranean cuisine restaurant that works with local ingredients and offers you the best service you can find, come here. Fonda Pepa has all the traditional dishes presented in the format of a Michelin Star restaurant, with a local and small-restaurant-like vibe. The staff is fantastic, and at least for myself, exactly what I need in a place like this. Guidance and suggestions, helping you to choose what you will like the most! A place not to miss.

Overall a nice experience. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the whole time. We ordered almost the whole menu and most of them were good. It was a bit disappointing that the duck and the lamb were served at room temperature if not to say cold. We took off a star to the fact that the menu is expensive! Small portions and high prices! Also, the duck and the lamb were the most pricey dishes on the menu and we didn't get to enjoy them to the fullest.

Superb casual classic. Catalan food served in a cool space by a young and thoughtful team of hosts and chefs. It’s a small bar with bright terrace in back. Very relaxed vibe. Small plates range from fresh seafood to an excellent “Mar y Montanya” rice. Everything delicious and perfect for sharing between 2. Prices around €15 per dish. Shirt and sweet wine list wins excellent options by the glass. Bookings available online or by phone. A lovely experience all around and a real find.

Amazing Restaurant, couldn't recommend enough. The food is great, portions aren't huge, but a solid lunch/ dinner won't break the bank. The staff is firendly and very capable and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Service didn't get 5 stars, because they were a little understaffed, but the hospitality was peak and we as tourists felt right at home.
