"A school of fried fish occupies 70% of the tables at this Kendall restaurant. Take it as a sign to also order the mojarra frita. But before that, savor the complimentary cup of warm chicken broth, which they always give you even if it’s not February 17th (Random Acts of Kindness Day). Aside from the exquisite fried fish, the Colombian restaurant makes great tostones topped with guacamole and chicharron, beef and potato empanadas, and agua panela. You can count on this place for a last-minute lunch or dinner. Show up in your Monday worst and you’ll still be referred to as “mi amor” by the sweet staff. Plus, they have a second location in West Flagler in case a free soup journey to Kendall is too far for you." - mariana trabanino

It’s good as is, but if you add a spoonful of their house salsa, and a lime squeeze, it gives the soup a kick. photo credit: Tasty Planet Mojarra Frita The beady-eyed fried mojarra arrives like it might swim off your plate, and comes with three sides—get the coconut rice, tostones, and side salad. It’s crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and a great midday buffer that’ll mute the stress of an intense work week. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino Morcilla Y Arepita The morcilla has an even rice-to-sausage ratio and comes with a small arepa. Top the morcilla with a little house salsa and stack it atop a piece of arepa for the perfect bite." - Mariana Trabanino

1st time at Fonda Sabaneta. Ok Colombian food with decent portions. Empanada were crunchy and tasty. Waitress was attentive and offered great suggestions. However, the food tasted a little bland. Coffee and fruit juice were great.

This is our new favorite Colombian restaurant! Everything we tasted was delicious, and our server Yesenia was excellent. She was very attentive, and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant offers a quick and efficient service with friendly staff, creating a pleasant dining experience. The ambiance is reminiscent of a typical Colombian setting, which adds a nice touch to the overall atmosphere. However, the Colombian food served here isn't the best we've tried. We ordered the "picada" for two people, and while the portion size was generous, the meats were not grilled, which impacted the flavor negatively. The taste was underwhelming, and the presentation was just average.Additionally, the prices are generally on the higher side, which doesn't quite match the quality of the food. Overall, while the service and atmosphere are commendable, the food quality and pricing could use some improvement.

What an amazing experience! The service was spot on, the atmosphere was energetic with live music. And most importantly, the food was to die for! It was so delicious with great flavor, every single bite better than the last. Jennifer was amazing, very welcoming and friendly. And the price wasn't too shabby; perfectly priced for a home-cooked meal.
