Fondation Beyeler

I love this museum — I’m a huge fan! The place is beautiful, the exhibitions are interesting and really well done, the staff is friendly, and the whole space is lovely. I highly recommend it — it’s a must if you’re visiting Basel. I saw the Northern Lights exhibit five times because it was just that amazing!

We attended the Matisse exhibition during a museum night. While it was crowded, the lively energy of the people in the garden was wonderful. However, the crowd inside made it difficult to enjoy the exhibition fully. Besides Matisse’s works, the museum’s permanent collection area was closed to visitors. The workshop areas included activities like drawing flowers on walls in Matisse’s style and painting your own tote bag. Overall, the atmosphere was delightful.

While touring Basel, we made a brilliant decision and went to the Fondation Beyeler which is a wonderful art museum! And while most museums are closed on Mondays, this one was open!

100% one of my favourite museums in basel with amazing art on display! also both interior and exterior are stunning, especially the garden around the museum. the fact that everybody under the age of 25 can enter for free is another plus!

We have been there the last day of Matisse ‘die Reise’ and it was great. The building itself, the interior, light installation and the outside area are one of a kind.

One of the most beautiful museum I’ve visited, surrounded by nature. A must visit when in Europe !

Shame on Foundation Beyeler. They had a sign saying: "some exhibition rooms are closed". This ended up meaning "THE ENTIRE PERMANENT COLLECTION IS CLOSED". So no Picassos, no Monets, no Giacomettis. Just their temporary exhibit was available!!! They refused to refund us.

We based our trip to Basel around visiting the Beyeler Foundation, specifically to see the Northern Lights exhibition. The museum is in a lovely setting and being just a short tram ride from Basel, it is very easy to get to. The exhibition itself only runs until the 25th May, so if you are considering going, don't hesitate, as you won't be disappointed
