Inside the hotels of the Balearic Islands

"Torre Vella offers a slightly more bohemian vision than its sister hotel, Santa Ponsa. But the difference is a matter of character, not quality — it’s got a personality all its own, but is no less comfortable, or less seductive." - Guide MICHELIN

Torre Vella - Fontenille Menorca (Minorca, Balearic Islands) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Sister to the nearby finca-style Santa Ponsa, and part of the same glorious Fontenille Menorca estate, Torre Vella is another farmhouse hotel, but with a twist; this one is built around an old fortified watchtower, set amid acre after acre of olive groves and medicinal herbs. It’s a slightly more bohemian vision than the more refined Santa Ponsa, but the difference is a matter of character, not quality — it’s got a personality all its own, but is no less comfortable, or less seductive, than its sister hotel." - Tablet Hotels

We loved our stay at Torre Vella Fontenille. The property is expansive and beautifully maintained, with wild-feeling grounds, a gorgeous pool area, and walking paths that lead to the cliffs and sea in about 20 minutes. Bikes are available to borrow for free—we used them to ride to the Talayotic site of Torre d’en Galmés, just ten minutes away. Our room was huge, comprising three separate areas: a living room, bedroom, and a massive bathroom. Stylish, comfortable, and well-equipped, it also had excellent linens. The housekeeping and staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and thoughtful, with little complimentary touches that made us feel truly looked after. Breakfast was generous, with plenty of high-quality options. We had dinner at the restaurant twice, and the food was lovely, with a few good vegetarian choices, though prices are on the higher side. Gay-friendly and vegetarian-friendly, this is a beautiful property with lovely staff. We adored our stay and will definitely be returning.

We went as a couple for the Clifftop Aperitif and it was absolutely magical. Watching the sun set over the sea and Mallorca in the distance with wine and delicious nibbles to share was pure perfection. The atmosphere was so peaceful and romantic, and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. A truly unforgettable experience that we look forward to repeating — highly recommended!

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but went specifically for the Aperitif on the Cliffs experience — and it was absolutely unforgettable. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Although the cliffs are a bit far from the hotel (and the hotel itself is already in a more remote location), they provide a free van transfer, which makes everything very convenient. The food and drinks were very good, but the real highlight is the setting: it is honestly the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen, with breathtaking views all around. I proposed to my girlfriend there, and the whole experience could not have been more perfect. The team supported me throughout the preparation — from champagne to flowers — and on the day itself, they made sure everything was ready, while also giving us full privacy for the special moment. The flowers were beautiful, and the atmosphere was simply magical. I will be forever grateful to the Torre Vella team for helping create such a memorable evening. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Came here with my wife to celebrate our honeymoon. And all we can say is, WOW! What an amazing experience overall. The service all-around is the best we have ever had. From the great housekeeping, to reception assisting us with all our needs and restaurant staff making sure we had the best gastronomic experience. Side note: Siempreviva was easily one of the best restaurants we have ever dined it. The quality and freshness of the ingredients is unmatched. The experiences that we booked at the hotel were phenomenal. The dinner in the vineyards and aperitifs by the cliffs was magical. Just being able to immerse our self into the nature of the island while enjoying amazing food and drinks was a dream. The private boat tour was stellar thanks to the fun and informative nature of the captain. The horseback riding was a majestic experience that we would do 10 times over. To sum it all up, we highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone and everyone. We would 100% come back. We’re just sad that we had to leave!

It is a simply gorgeous place; luxury but rustic. We had a very good dinner which was mainly cooked on the BBQ, all delicious, but the best thing about the courtyard setting is the beautiful atmosphere they’ve created. We paid around €90 a head but there was quite a lot of alcohol drunk.

We went for dinner and were invited to walk around the hotel and grounds first, which set the scene beautifully. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier - welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. When we sat down, they talked us through the menu. The meats were cooked outside over the fire and tasted fantastic. The rosé, from their own vineyard, paired perfectly and went down very well. The croquettes were unreal, and all the appetisers they kindly offered on the house were delicious, made with fresh local produce. The setting was stunning! We caught a lovely sunset, and the team even suggested we head upstairs for the best photos. We finished with the cheesecake, which was another highlight. Overall, a wonderful experience!

We spent a wonderful evening with friends at Fontenille, dining under the stars surrounded by vineyards. The setting was truly charming—rural yet elegant, with every detail carefully curated. The service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive, and the food was of high quality, perfectly complementing the atmosphere. A special highlight was the “community table,” which offered the chance to share the experience with other guests. This added a lively and social dimension to the evening, making it feel even more memorable. Overall, Fontenille is a beautiful location that offers more than just a meal—it’s a unique experience. Perfect for those who appreciate originality, authenticity, and refined simplicity.

We visited the hotel for dinner. The rural setting is charming and the enclosed courtyard provided the perfect cool and peaceful location to dine. Our meal was fabulous. Simple, flavoursome food cooked and presented well. The staff were delightful and made every effort to ensure our visit was memorable. We will definitely return.
