Google
Best donuts i’ve ever had, even before i had Gluten issues when i was a kid. My friend who is NOT-GF was blown away. Strawberry Shortcake is unreal, favorite flavor for sure.

Eli Andersen

Google
These donuts are great! I had the blueberry earl grey and I would definitely recommend. I am usually not a gluten free type of guy but these were actually amazing.

Natalie Roberts

Google
As a gluten free girlie, I love this place, the donuts are great. They're very tender and i would say they're more like cake texture. The flavors are innovative and delicious; go earlier in the day for a full selection! Typically by the end of the day some flavors are sold out (this place is popular, and for good reason!). I've never found parking right out front, but it's easier to park down a side street and walk a little bit anyway. Definitely recommend!

Google
Tasted great. My wife eats vegan gluten free deserts and they're usually awful. This was a very pleasant surprise. We will be back!

Google
Got a half dozen today of the vanilla, chocolate, and the blueberry earl gray and...wow, I never thought baked donuts could taste this good. I wouldn’t compare them to regular fried donuts because these are in a class of their own. The price point may seem too high for donuts but keep in mind that these are made from almond flour and almond flour ain’t cheap, plus considering how good these are I’d assume they’re made from a really good quality almond flour. Totally worth it, it’s must try if you’re in the area.

Google
Holy crap those were fabulous donuts! As a celiac, I’m used to settling for mediocre baked goods. Didn’t have to here. Blew my socks off. I had 3 minis. Couldn’t tell you which was my favorite: churro, blueberry, or strawberry shortcake. Bomb.

May Cohen

Google
Nice place, clean and modern design. But unfortunately it's not a donut at all, it's a kind of cake in the shape of a donut maybe...but not the real thing, in any case very expensive there and this cake was delicious but didn't hit what I was aiming for.

Google
First and foremost, anyone reading this, if you see any bad review about this business on here I would highly suggest not paying attention to it. My wife and I have been purchasing donuts from here since they first opened and they are by far the best donuts we have ever had while still being able to stay away from gluten and deep fried oils. We no longer live in California and go out of our way to drive from San Dimas to Studio City to get a dozen every time we are back visiting family. There is such a great variety of flavors to choose from and honestly they are all amazing. We love the banana chocolate, churro and strawberry shortcake especially. I also want to address one of the poor reviews I have seen on here. We have never once picked up our order or had our order delivered with an open box, nor have we EVER felt sick from eating here! I find it impossible to believe those statements made. We wish nothing but continued success for Fonuts and selfishly hope that one day they grow large enough to open a location where we now live!

Yelp
Okay, if you're expecting a light fluffy airy donut, this isn't for you. But if you are gluten free then you know the struggle of finding a rich and delicious treat, struggle no more team. Fonuts has the answers. The churro one may be my fave. They have vegan options The service? Nothing to note really but like who cares you ask for the fonut they give it to you you eat it, you're in heaven, their lack of smile or have a good day is completely irrelevant.
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
They're baked donuts. They're not fluffy like a regular donut so you'll be disappointed if that's what you're expecting. They're basically bundt cakes and they taste good. It's a pretty good alternative because I can't find gluten free donuts anywhere. I recommend going earlier in the day around open or a couple of hours after because they may run out of certain flavors. Parking is not the best in this area.

Yelp
My best friend told me about this place and how delicious, fresh and quality the donuts were. So what did we do? WE WENT TOGETHER. I had the pleasure of experiencing it this morning. Off the bat, the energy from the front staff was so warm and inviting! Greeted with positive tone and patience while we tried to decide what flavors we wanted to take home with us. They are gluten free and vegan I believe! I couldn't resist... so I requested one of each mini flavor and I don't regret it one bit!! The donuts were showcased so beautifully. I was lucky enough to sample the peanut butter chocolate and I fell in love with just one bite. I was also told that they add little to no sugar!!! I got strawberry shortcake, double chocolate, vanilla, blueberry, lemon, and churro. They were all so rich and soft but my favorite has to be the double chocolate or blueberry! I can't wait to be back and try the vanilla latte flavor! Thank you for an amazing first time.
google avatar

Yelp
I like to come here for a little reduced-guilt pick me up every so often. They have some good new flavors, and I like that they have most of the flavors in both the mini and normal sizes. I recommend going closer to opening time, they run out quickly.
google avatar

Olivia R.

Yelp
I went right before closing like 20 minutes before they closed, and they still had some donuts left. They tasted so fresh and soft still! The store looked clean and the worker was very nice and helped me pick my donuts.
google avatar

Meagan I.

Yelp
Decided to stop here for the first time on a whim. Ordered four diverse donuts to try a little of everything. They have a large selection to choose from and love that they have vegan options. I chose the double chocolate, blueberry earl grey, gingerbread and churro. To start off they were all a bit dry, especially the churro. They were all sweeter than I expected, a bit much for me. The blueberry seemed to be the sweetest. The double chocolate and the gingerbread had really good flavor. I would get these two again.

Yelp
Stomping around Studio City and living my best weekday Valley Girl life. Stopped by Fonuts because why not. As expecteeeed parking sitch was a beast, saw a TJs aross-ish from the street and parked there. Walk wasn't bad. It was like walking around Westwood. Came in and it was very minimalistic modern, with underexposed lighting you know how the aesthetic toks are nowadays. It also subtly smelled like Palo Santo which was a first and I should trademark that scent Palo Santo & fonuts why not. I got a bunch of things they were out of the strawberry and churro so got the double chocolate, banana, blue berry. I loved them all minus the banana which was dry and gritty and the texture was not as palatable as the other 2 Service was friendly, propped to the sweet lady maintaining her cool with this man who was uhhh announcing to the world that he would not pay $5 for a donut. :)

Yelp
A gluten free donut shop that doesn't compare to your average donut shop. These are better, moist, and very flavorful. Living in South Florida I have yet to find a place that comes close, so while in Los Angeles I had to pop in a few times to grab a different donut each time. And right before heading back home to Florida took some with me to go. Recommend that you go early, by 2pm they will be out of most of the popular flavors. Appreciate the server always being patient with me, could never decide on flavors. And the sitting area is small but most just come in for pick up orders and don't sit long, I highly recommend you try this place if ever in the area.
google avatar

Melissa O.

Yelp
Update: fōnuts never disappoints! Always so fresh and they taste amazing. Customer service continues to be excellent. Love this place :)
google avatar

Yelp
Small shop and coming at the end of the day on a Sunday (after farmers market too) meant everything was pretty much sold out lol. Fortunately to try a few flavors and the gentleman there was very friendly and helpful. Being gluten free and craving things can be challenging but grateful for this spot and want to try other flavors next time!
google avatar

Meilani D.

Yelp
Ok so I'm on a quest to find gluten free donuts and these are FIRE! They use almond flour and one half of the glass is dedicated to gluten free treats, while the other is gluten free + vegan. Off top, they were soft and sweet, and delicious! They had some unique flavors to choose from, like cookie, iced lemon, double chocolate, etc. I got the strawberry shortcake but also bought a box of mini donuts for $12.00. Going to bring them to brunch They also have gluten free sourdough bread and biscuits! Highly recommend this place. PS the vegan ones do have soy in them (soy milk)
google avatar

Armond H.

Yelp
Unbelievable why the high ratings! $5 for a small sugary donut that falls apart. Other than heavy sugar there is no taste. Vegan doesn't mean anything when you basically eating sugar! Paid $15 for three small donuts that disintegrated when brought home! I felt I threw away $15 in garbage. Sorry, that was my experience !
google avatar

Steven Z.

Yelp
Great donuts. Gluten free. Dairy free. Very costly but well worth it. They are basically mini cakes disguised as donuts. Everyone that tried them at my bday gathering loved them. Would give five stars but took one only because I really do think they should offer some kind of discount, even 10%... on large orders. I had placed around $100 order worth of donuts.
google avatar

Paulene H.

Yelp
Attention all dairy challenged friends! You don't need to miss out any longer!! This place is cute and intimate. The gentleman that worked there had a great smile and was very helpful. The FoNut Donuts are the best I've had. I tried the mini dairy free ones. The vanilla latte and churro flavors are my favorite. They are the perfect addition to a party or just having a few friends over for bunch. But they're always great for a treat with a cup of coffee. You need to try these for yourself. They are not your chain-store greasy, over sweetened donut. They are an elevated piece of art... a decadent pastry for any palate.
google avatar

nerses A.

Yelp
DOZEN FOR $72 + Tax for dry flavorless donuts ! For $72 I could have gotten a wedding cake lol WTH
google avatar

Andreanna N.

Yelp
Wow. As someone who has been GF for 12 years I'm amazed! I got the pancakes and syrup and strawberry shortcake flavors. The price is my biggest draw back honestly. Also wish it came in a box because the icing was sticking to the paper. I would definitely come back and recommend.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
My boyfriend is gluten free and he can't have many sweets because it's often hard to find places that make gluten free sweets. Especially in the valley, it feels even harder to find gluten free dessert here. Which is why we were so thrilled to find Fonuts!! I surprised him for his birthday and the Fonuts were all an absolute hit with everyone there. Our favorite was the strawberry shortcake! But honestly all the flavors are good. And they don't crumble apart like some other gluten free desserts do. I recommend getting the mini donuts if you are planning to share with many people.
google avatar

Yooka E.

Yelp
One of our favorite doughnut places in LA where we can get vegan options! Their doughnuts are not fried but baked, so it feels lighter and healthier. I call it a guilty free pleasure :) I always get Lemon and Banana Chocolate, they are my go-to choices! The only reason why I give 4 stars is that they close as soon as doughnuts are sold out, which is usually by 2 pm. I sometimes wish they had longer business hours. So, place an order online for the same day pick up or call ahead to see if they are still open + still have your favorite flavors.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
Wow. All I can say is wow. The double chocolate is like a decadent cake. We tried the black and white, double chocolate and the pancakes and syrup. All 3 were absolutely delicious. All of the donuts were fresh and warm and the staff at the counter were so nice!! They are a bit pricey but so worth it. I'm telling you these were incredible lol. Shop is super nice and vibey, not a lot of seating though and prettier to sit outside!
google avatar

bridget s.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. As a vegan, it's hard finding donuts. The shop itself is absolutely beautiful, the customer service was also lovely but the actual vegan donuts weren't great. I was looking for a consistency like a regular cake donut. (whole foods used to make them and they were delicious and same consistency as a regular cake donut but they discontinued making them unfortunately). These fonuts had such a weird texture. The best way to describe it is grainy and instantly falls apart in your mouth but not in a good way. On a happier note I found K's donut emporium in both Sherman Oaks and Studio City has vegan cake donuts that taste and have the consistency I was looking for.
google avatar

Avery S.

Yelp
We're vegans from Ohio and heard fonuts was a spot with vegan d/fonuts we had to visit and yeah
google avatar

Dilenia A.

Yelp
OMG I'm in heaven!!! I'm so happy I found this place on Yelp and came to try it!!! So moist and delicious!!! Can't believe this is vegan and gluten-free wow . Feels amazing to enjoy sweets, guilt free!!! A MUST!!! You won't be disappointed at all!!! My husband and I had the banana and chocolate donut and the black and white one yummy to our tummies
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
I love this place! Staff are so nice and there's always unique delicious donut flavors to choose from. I'm not even vegan and I opt to go here all the time!
google avatar

John Jakey J.

Yelp
Fonuts is kinda like donuts but different. I like em pretty much. And the server guy was drinking a matcha from my favorite place in the world Alfred coffeee studio city! Instant 5 stars. Ambulance also

Kylie H.

Yelp
Not that great. I'm gluten free and man is it tough finding good stuff that isn't caked or dry and this just did not hit the mark. Overpriced and under flavored!
google avatar

J N.

Yelp
Never knew about this spot until today! Where have I been?! We came it a little before they were closing so not many options left but I was able to take home the banana chocolate donuts and simply ..... AMAZING! Wow. Vegan, gluten free deliciousness. Super cute spot, I will be making my way soon to enjoy the other options they have. Must try!! But get there early enough to make sure to snag a couple of different flavors before they're gone. Service was nice, looking forward to my next visit.
google avatar

Matea P.

Yelp
I trust that fōnuts is a great spot, as all of their donuts looked amazing. It was really hard to choose from all of them, but in light of the holiday coming up we decided to try the Gingerbread Donut. To be candid, although the donut was really moist and soft, I also found it to be too soggy, wet, and heavy. I wasn't expecting it to be that dense - instead, I thought it was going to be more light, airy, and fluffy. Not only that, but the gingerbread taste was faint, weak, and could've been a lot stronger to hold true to its name. Regardless, I appreciated the warm greeting upon going into the shop and there's no doubt the atmosphere evokes cleanliness, friendliness, and warmth
google avatar

Edythe M.

Yelp
With so many ppl affected by gluten sensitivity this was a welcome option. My dad was ecstatic to find this place and I was pleasantly surprised that I truly enjoyed the Fonut! Flavor profiles are on point and they're not overly sweet. Still light and cake like with added protein from the almond flour. These are a Win for sure
google avatar

Mira L.

Yelp
Accompanied daughter for her scheduled massage nearby and as I walked along the area, I came across this shop. Curious as to why people were lining up, I turned around later when line had slowed down and bought a banana chocolate fonut. For a vegan and gluten free donut, this was delicious. Moist and not entirely overwhelmingly sweet. I certainly finished it without a pause. It's a bit costly for $5.25 a fonut. Worth to splurge as it is yummy. The place is a hole in a wall, no place to eat, only take out however the ambiance of the place is cute and wholesome. If you are a person of 'must try' like Me, go for it.
google avatar

Cassie T.

Yelp
fōnuts is a really lovely and convenient place for gluten free (slight emphasis on gluten free) options for donuts! I love their vegan flavors, but texture-wise, they are generally pretty acquired. The people working at the front are sweet and walk you through the options of the day, plus the boxes and storefront are distinctively adorable.
google avatar

Eli T.

Yelp
I wanted to like it, but the flavor is not great. I went there in hopes of bringing back some yummy donuts but I've definitely had better baked donuts with more rich flavor and texture. The amount of sugar content makes it hard to enjoy the taste of lemon, blueberry, strawberry and earl grey tea infusion. The maple donut was probably the best for my palette craving but I would not buy it again unfortunately. The ambience in the space can also be better. Went there half an hour before closing so maybe music was off and vibe was tiresome for that reason but the quietness of the space didn't feel very welcoming.
google avatar

Angiee T.

Yelp
Cute location but the donuts were just OK. However, if you're vegan and looking for a donut dessert, this is your stop.
google avatar

Kubo K.

Yelp
It's a great place to cheat without feel like you're actually cheating. All the donuts excuse me fonuts were excellent. Although they might not trick the average doing it either as they are made out of almond flour, but I thought they tasted amazing. Parking is on the street which can be kind of hard to find but I parked in the chase bank Parking and got some money out so I was actually a customer and didn't feel so bad. There is plenty of parking anyways on a Saturday afternoon.
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
I'm not into deprived donuts but these are decent. If I'm gonna eat a donut it better be warm and full of flavorful sweetness. These are not sticky sweet which is nice for the keto, and team diabetes crews out there. It's worth a try if your gluten free, and need a nibble
google avatar

Sevana W.

Yelp
I'm normally pretty skeptical of "healthy" desserts but I gave fonuts a shot today. I split a few different flavors with friends. We tried the blueberry earl grey, churro, vanilla latte, and strawberry shortcake. It would be difficult to pick a favorite, but I was partial to the strawberry shortcake. Upon taking the first bites of each donut, the freshness of the ingredients immediately stood out. Elements like the burst of blueberries and the boldness of the espresso added to an already yummy treat. The texture was also incredible; not exactly like a traditional donut (fonuts are baked, not fried), yet still soft and moist. They paired nicely with lattes from Alfred a couple doors down. Give fonuts a try- you'll be happy you did!!

A K.

Yelp
Terrible doughnuts... they're not even doughnuts, they're doughnut shaped muffins. The dough literally tastes like, and has the texture of, a grocery store muffin. Also the icing is kinda chalky. $16 for 3 doughnuts is insane
google avatar

Nena C.

Yelp
We were staying in Laurel Canyon and I was super excited that there was a gluten free donut place nearby. The first time we went, it was 6:00 pm So it was already closed. I tried a few days later about 3:00 pm and we walked in to only find 1 large vanilla donuts and 3 mini donuts. The employee let us know it is best to go online in the morning at 8;00 am and place your order for pickup. We bought all 4 and headed back to our car. I pulled the large donut out of the bag, expecting it to be like a regular donuts but it crumbled into pieces and 2/3 of it ended up on the sidewalk we ate what was left of the donuts and they did taste good but the texture is odd and almost wet and crumbly. The frosting is also yummy. So if you plan to go be sure to order ahead and don't pull it out of the bag while walking.
google avatar

tk t.

Yelp
Highly Recommend! My first time here. I was working across the street and saw the unique sign "Fonuts." The employee was a really nice guy and made a couple of recommendations. I went with the strawberry doughnut and it was BOMB!! So fresh and moist! And I'm not a vegan...I'll definitely be back!!
google avatar

Yolanda O.

Yelp
Best donuts Moist inside , unlike most donuts that are dry and you feel like you need a gallon of water after. I would say it has a consistency of a cake. I tried the strawberry, amazingggg.

Ken H.

Yelp
As a vegan who likes donuts, I was looking forward to trying Fonuts. After reading the reviews, I expected them to be great, so I ordered a half dozen. Unfortunately, they were dry, the texture was grainy making for an unpleasant mouth feel, and the flavor was mediocre. Add to that the high price and I was very disappointed.
google avatar

Shilpa D.

Yelp
I was sent a dozen fonuts for my birthday and they arrived beautifully in a box at my front door! These are very unique donuts, with a crumbly texture and fresh, unique flavors. The dark maple both smelled and tested delicious! I also loved the double chocolate which was more a moist, cake texture. Third fave was the chocolate chip which tasted like the mini muffins I used to love as a kid. If you prefer a more fruity flavor, the strawberry, blueberry and lemon all tasted like fresh fruit and were delightful and not too sweet. The black and white tastes a lot like a black and white cookie and the drier texture suits this flavor well. They are expensive donuts but they are also not the average donut! All are gluten free and some are vegan. They are not overly sweet or sugary. So it's definitely a healthier gourmet alternative to a donut but still a satisfying special treat! Any of the non-fruit ones would be delicious with a hot coffee! I tasted all of them and froze the remaining die another day and I think they will prob defrost well and maybe add moisture, too. Looking forward to seeing how they taste! I'll definitely stop by and grab a fonut when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Judith W.

Yelp
My daughter was hesitant when I asked if she wanted a vegan donut. We are not vegan. We decided to try the strawberry shortcake fonut. It is one of the best donuts we've ever had. It is a cake like consistency. Can't wait to try all the flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
Fōnuts (faux donut) is Nancy Truman & Tom Furtado's love letter to doughnut lovers who happen to be gluten intolerant as Nancy is. They got their start at Farmer's Market and opened the first store in 2011. "The Enlightened Donut" is always baked fresh daily, never fried, made with almond flour, low to no-sugar and also offering vegan selections. This Studio City location is their second in Los Angeles. The original is in Beverly Grove on 3rd Street. They are open from 8 am - 5 pm and, as I seem to be in this area at night, today was the first day I caught them open! The lovely redhead behind the counter was very helpful and answered all my questions. I decided on the mini size and chose four: Churro, Lemon, Strawberry Shortcake and Blueberry-Earl Grey. The mini size is $1.75 each and provided me with two bites each. A half dozen goes for $10 and a dozen for $20. These are very cake-like in texture and feature the use of real fruit, nuts, vanilla beans that you can actually see and taste. They are definitely less sugary and more dense than regular doughnuts. The flavors were all good without being overpowering. Flavors available on rotation are: Fōtella, Buttermilk, Pumpkin, Blueberry-Earl Grey, Churro, Strawberry Shortcake, Vanilla, Double Chocolate, Lemon, Peanut Butter-Chocolate, Vanilla Latte, Dark Maple, Chocolate-Chip Cookie, Banana-Chocolate, Banana and Plain. The regular sized fōnuts are pricey, at $4.50 each, $26 for a half dozen and $51 for a dozen. I imagine if I had celiac or was gluten-intolerant, being able to treat myself to doughnuts again would make it worth the price!
google avatar

Ron L.

Yelp
In my pre-Celiac days of 20 years ago, I visited so many mom and pop donut joints (not the big W although they weren't bad), that I was made an honorary police officer. So, when I was diagnosed with celiac and no longer could roam LaLaLand looking for the holy grail of donuts, I was crushed and drummed out of the force. This fōnuts is a slightly smaller version of its original spot on Third Street, but comes in a minimalist and sleek modern package. Carrying only GF fōnuts, this donut shop bakes their donuts and have made their faux donuts much closer to the texture and tasregular donuts. The dough is not too heavy and cake like, and the flavors are tasty. I took home the churro fōnut, blueberry and a strawberry shortcake. The churro was very good with a nice cinnamon flavor and the other two were excellent. Good on you, Fōnuts in the Valley for letting me re-experience a donut, even if it is baked.

Yelp
Finally made it to the "Nuts of Fo." 100% gluten free donut shop tucked away on Laurel Place near Greenwood Shop, Joan's On Third S.C. and Kit Kraft art's & crafts store just off Laurel Canyon. I came in on a Sunday and though other shops were quite busy, Fonuts of Studio City had a minimal crowd. The guy on duty was super friendly and personable and ready to help or answer questions. The vegan fonuts are one of a kind. Very flavorful, they crumble into your mouth like fresh baked dough. A lot of these aren't available for deliver or purchase through third party apps, which makes coming in even more of a treat. Sometimes they run out or low or certain flavors, mainly of the v(egan) variety versus the strictly gf. The churro vegan donut is probably my top pic. Though the vanilla latte is a close second. Fonuts also has bottled, canned and boxed beverages for purchase along with some fun merchandise, such as all occasion cards, pins and logo shirts. They offer seating outside on two jumbo size benches at the foot of the entrance, one on each side of the main door. A nice place to take a load off, beat the heat and enjoy some unique treats.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
The donuts are tasty but fall apart so easily. Very disappointed I bought the $40 kit. Ok $40 for flour, sugar and a tbl of apple sauce and white vinegar is redic. But it was my sons bday so I wanted to do something special. 3 of the 6 totally fell apart. The store bought ones will also fall apart if you put in frig or freezer even-though one of their selling points is they can be stored this way. Can't say I'd return unless buying one to eat right then and I feel like speaking over $5 per donut
google avatar

Nathan G.

Yelp
I'm not gluten free or vegan, but I found several of the Fonuts to be rather craveable. Overall, very tasty and rather unique with a fine crumbly texture. Some are vegan - the two I tried were a bit lighter and drier than the others, but still very good. In order of my preference: Chocolate - rich and moist, lots of dark chocolate flavor, more like a dessert cake and a damn good one. Blueberry Earl Grey - flavor bomb, lots of blueberries, a close second. Strawberry Shortcake - rich sweet strawberry goodness, decadent Vanilla latte (vegan) - subtle coffee flavor, slightly dry by itself but great with coffee. Olive Oil Wild Blueberry - more like a coffee cake, no icing, restrained flavors, best for those who want a less sweet experience. Lemon (vegan) - light with a strong pucker-y lemon flavor, but a bit one dimensional, and also a bit dry probably because it is vegan. Any of the above are good, but the first two stood out. They are not cheap, but worth the occasional splurge.

Yelp
I was in the area, & I have been craving a healthy, gluten-free & Vegan donut. I saw this place has amazing reviews, I decided to stop by and try a delicious donut. Aesthetics: this place has beautiful aesthetics, I absolutely love it. The Donut: I got a Vanilla Latte, Gluten Free, Vegan, made with almond flour. It was absolutely delicious. I do not regret spending $4.50 for a donut. I will definitely come back in the future Location: in the heart of the busy Studio City, in a strip shopping center. Parking: can be the worst, Studio City can be the worst. Note: not everything is vegan, only the right side of the glass.

Marissa C.

Yelp
I got the black and white and a lemon for my friend. They are more like donut-shaped cake but light. Very sweet, but that's what I was craving and why I got donuts. We both finished ours and had no complaints. No heavy feeling from grease, either. My friend is tracking calories and wishes there was nutrition info available, but I don't care to make myself nuts. May be something to consider for the fitness crowd
