recently started going to a food bank (once a week) and had to throw out half of what was donated yesterday. Breads were stale, frozen meat had a sell by date of July 12, and apples were brown, for example.

They need food! Please donate. Extraordinary work and place.

I have dropped off food that the BSA requested but didn't pick up. So I knew of a couple of places I could drop other neighbors food collection off at this location. They accept a lot of different types of food and goods. They help our community as a whole if you need help with services. Or you need to unload food.

The food bank last time I checked and had food service it was excellent and more than I could Carry

We first 'met' FFO due to middle school daughter needing service hours. Turned out we were the ones that 'won'. Wonderfully run program, about 68% (pre-COVID) volunteer 'manned'. Easy 2-hour slots for volunteering for an organization that provides food to people that need food.

I had some food to donate from learning my husband now must eat gluten free. My non perishable items were taking up space and with a day off work I made my trek on lee highway over to Food For Others. I'm glad I checked the website before coming because it could be hard to figure out the exact location to drop off the food. Basically you drive over to the dock and drop your food off. Be sure to get a receipt for tax purposes

These are angels from God, who have made it possible for me and other family members to stay afloat financially. They are exceedingly gracious and kind and helpful, even with people who don't speak English. They provide basics, which help us meet the deadlines for other bills. It is an efficient operation, one that does immense good for many thousands of people. May God bless all of them, every one.

Food for Others is a highly-rated nonprofit that feeds hungry people in our area. It is a no-frills operation, but I've always been thanked profusely for food donations of any size. This location is a convenient stop if you have reason to be in/near Merrifield.
