I always get the Beef Rib Platter and the smoked smothered Turkey Wings Platter, sometimes 2x's a week and it's ALWAYS fresh and hot! Also there mac & cheese, collard greens & candied yams are TOP TIER. Portions are filling and won't break the bank. Definitely one of my favorites!

They are pretty consistent. I used to get their fried chicken wings but their fried fish is the bomb.

My first time there I was greeted by the employees. The restaurant is exceptionally clean. I ordered I have slapped a beef ribs and a half slap of pork ribs and they were delicious!!! And the potato salad was good also😃🙏🏾! Thank you, Levy. I will be back.

Food was absolutely phenomenal, when i say everything is just perfect, ribs cooked perfectly falling off the bone and well seasoned, mac and cheese and candied yams….chefs kiss. Bbq wings, corn and potatoe salad also extremely good. very hard to find actual good soul/bbq food but this has definitely hit my top favorite.

I was extremely disappointed 😞. I bought over $100 worth of food, I'll never make that mistake again. The fried chicken wings were not seasoned at all, but was coated in WAAAAAAY to much flour.. flour is all I tasted. The yams were disgusting, waaaaay too sweet, the Mac & cheese tasted like it was from the box, then frozen, then reheated.... just nasty. The collard greens were actually very good but had no meat in it... no neckbone, no turkey meat, nothing. That was my first and last experience. #mypeoplealwaysdisappoint

THIS PLACE IS FREAKIN AMAZIN. I FEEL LIKE IM AT GRANDMOM HOUSE WHEN I EAT FROM HEAT. GOOD GOOD FALLIN OFF THE BONE BEEF RIBS, SIDES ALWAYS FRESH AND SERVICE TIME IS ON POINT. NOW THIS IS WHAT U CALL "GOOD FOOD"

I’m a first time customer I ordered a turkey wing platter string beans and yams. String beans were a little overcooked The platter was $15.10 there WORTH $18 but overall, I’ll give them a four out of five Service was excellent. I will be back to try a few more items. Please come out and support small businesses..

I should have listened to the reviews. This food was not it. Fried wings were unseasoned and soggy. Turkey wings could have been cooked longer. String beans were mushy and lacked flavor. The Mac and cheese had a weird taste.

I ordered the pork ribs, potato salad (taste just like my momma's) and collar greens, and red velvet cake. Let me say everything was delicious. I was suppose to save half as I am on a diet but I ate it all in one sitting and fell asleep. I also received a free corn bread so I will have a little taste later. The customer service was excellent. I will be ordering again. I'm so sorry there isn't a picture. The potato salad came in a separate container. The presentation was great.

Although the food was fresh, the whiting filets had scales and was not seasoned, and the turkey wing skin was very fatty and not firmly cooked. In addition, I received only 2 turkey wings whereas the description says 3 wings. The sweet potato, collard green, cabbage, and cornbread were tasty. The food came timely and was still hot enough to eat without rewarming.

Just moved into the area and was seeking a good soul food restaurant..This won't be it. Ordered 2 fish platters. The fish was salty but fried well. The collard greens or should I say stalks had no seasoning. I couldn't figure out how the sweet potatoes were supposed to be cooked but they just had a weird taste. My biggest disappointment was the peach cobbler. It was canned peaches and dough with no flavoring. I'll keep looking for a soul food restaurant but this one is off my list.

My husband LOVES this place,I'm not so sure myself. It's okay if you tried of eating fast foods, and feel like you want a home cooked meal. It's not your GRANDMOTHER type cooking. It's more like your Aunt whom is trying to mimic your Grandmother recipes but she needs more PRACTICE. It's edible though

I ordered a rib platter with Mac and cheese and yams. Honestly these were the best ribs I've eaten in years. The meat was tender and the sauce had the perfect amount of sweetness. The yams were also spectacular: fork tender and well seasoned. The only miss fit me was the mac, it just didn't compare to the other items. The service is accurate, efficient, albeit a bit gruff. I'll definitely be a repeat customer just of the strength of the ribs and yams alone.

Some of the best pork ribs I've had in a lonnnnng time. They're damn near perfect. Not over cooked and falling off the bone , they had the perfect amount of "pull" to them and a nice smoky "off the grill" flavor to them. Perfectly sauced too. The Mac and cheese , collard greens and sweet potatoes were all on point, and that seafood salad reminded me of that taste you get in Baltimore. Please go support these folks , they crank out some killer food

I was in Philly and wanted some real food and support a Black Owned business. I goes straight to YELP to check out what was near me, and this spot came up and had decent reviews, so off I go to try it out. I ordered the fried fish and shrimp platter with cabbage and greens, a catfish sandwich, and corn on the cob. I'm so disappointed that I spent $42.66 and the food was TRASH!!! The whiting was old and dried out, the shrimp were fried hard on the outside and chewy on the inside, corn was overcooked and very difficult to bite into. My guy sad the catfish wasn't bad but the greens , tasteless and same for the cabbage. My biggest regret is that I didn't take pictures before trashing it!

The beef ribs were very good. The side orders were extremely salty. This restaurant is located in an African American community. And high blood pressure is prevalent. If they lower the salt in their food, they would make a ton more money. At least from the people I know.

Food was great. The fried chicken/jerk chicken was a bit undercooked but tasted delicious otherwise. The sides were in point. Flavor was A+

The service was good but the food needs more work. I paid way too much for what I got. I ordered 3 platters. Chicken/ribs. Too tough. Fried fish whiting. No seasoning. Fried chicken my son said that was the only thing good. All the sides were not good. Sorry but maybe you can revamp the menu and recipes. I mean some people like it but not for me. I wish you well.

Got a rib platter with cabbage which was overcooked and mushy. potato salad was very wet ribs was nice and tender but the sauce was very salty, my daughter had chicken wings and side of Mac and cheese which she said was good, would order again, but not a platter

I appreciate this business for being professional and food is definitely delicious always fresh I've tasted most of the menu this is black owned but it's not ghetto black owned when I had a problem with my food the server corrected the cook with no hesitation he noticed the problem before me seafood salad and tuna salad A-1 not store bought cakes a good too

This place is fire!!!! One of my go-to spots when I'm craving some good eating. Very consistent with a pretty diverse menu. Highly recommend!

Good soul/comfort food spot. Ribs are hit are miss- massive bones and meat is sometimes minimal/some are mostly bone with fatty meat, but if you get a good order they're very good. Everything else (especially the jerk chicken) is really good.

First time ordering from this place and I figured it would be nice to try out. Ordered the catfish platter with yams and mac & cheese. The catfish and yams were on point! Giving the place 4-stars since mac & cheese was salty and dry. Can't fault them for the delivery person being late, so I will check them out again in the near future.

Disappointing from the first bite. Very little meat on the bone. So much sauce you couldn't taste the meat. Two of the ribs couldn't eat because of the gristle. Cole slaw, store bought and the peach cobbler is nasty. Crust dry, way to much cinnamon. That's the only thing you can taste. Paid to much to give food to the They were tender. Won't ever order again from this place.

We ordered delivery via Grubhub. The food arrived fairly quickly and was delicious. I had the pulled pork sandwich, my significant other had the fried chicken, and we split the mac and cheese. I really enjoyed the pulled pork. The sandwich came with a good amount of sauce, and I personally prefer lighter sauce for BBQ, so I'll probably order it that way in the future, but it still tasted really good and they used good rules! My SO enjoyed his fried chicken and ate it to the bone. The real highlight, though, was the mac and cheese. It was so, so good. Perfect amount of cheese with some of that crispy goodness that comes from perfect baked mac and cheese. Overall, the food was good and a great quality for what you get. We'll definitely order from here in the future.

I've been searching for consistently really good Soulfood in uptown area for a while now. The meat is cooked to perfection and all of the sides are tasty. I am so impressed. And it looks like all the food is cooked by men which is really cool too. I really suggest the ribs ,the barbecue chicken, and fish . definitely get the candied yams and their mac & cheese!

Ordered here a few weeks back during the snow storm with my friends in search for some soul food and we were so happy we did. They were getting ready to close and they accommodated our order. We got the fried chicken dinner with mac and cheese and yams and two sides of baked beans and potato salad. We enjoyed every bite until the last. We will absolutely be back

Would have given 5 stars but they forgot my cornbread. I was pissed off because Victoria's Kitchen did me dirty and I stumbled across this spot. Uber eats because i didn't feel like going out again.My uber eats app glitched so they called because it appears that it placed the order twice. First star they could have just sent me two platters but nope they caught it. She was pleasant and said I was just making sure you didn't want two orders. Food arrived it was hot and yummy for my tummy. Beef ribs you don't get much meat on them it was about 4 ribs I only ate two, Mac and cheese was good and so was the yams. Later Victoria I'll go to where the food was made from their heart. Ribs were tender too. Yum yum and yum looking forward to trying other food from here! New place loading and already shared with my friends that live locally

Good food but the pork rib sandwich is not that big. Mine had 4 ribs, and not that big either. You fare better getting the platter. Turkey wings were good but different both times I ordered. One was wet and one was not. Great sides tho. I will order again.

BBQ Chicken was good but there was a lot of juice in my tray under the chicken. BBQ Beef was ok. Potato Salad was watery so we didn't eat it. Mac & Cheese was really salty. Cabbage was ok and the Collard Greens taste like can greens not fresh greens. The Shrimp was good. They forgot our corn muffins we ordered. This was our first and last time ordering from this restaurant

Love their TUNA MAC!! So good I just wish it came in a bigger container lol and the muffins are really good too, turkey wings were a little dry to my liking but I will definitely give this place another try!

Decided to go local during these quarantine days and - wow- I'm totally glad tried "Food from the Heart"! Wonderful, yummy, genuine soul food. I definitely recommend it. We had the pulled pork (really nice quantity) and the fried shrimp (delightful, light batter). The choice of sides was a tough one because everything sounded fabulous on the menu - we finally opted for Mac and cheese, Cole slaw, green beans (best ever!) and baked beans. You must try this place to supplement your standard "go to" restaurants. You'll have no regrets!

With the quarantine we usually try to support businesses. If you don't support the one that you love may be gone when we are living with these restrictions. On a whim we decided to try Food for thought using Door dash. I will tell you the truth. It felt like I got a plate from a family members house. The Mac n cheese is good and the greens are perfection. They even called because they didn't have something available and I told them it was my first time ordering. She told me that I would be happy. She was right! Seasoned just right. You won't be sorry. Give them a try if you want quality soul food. I'm glad that I did. Now we're hooked!

Decided to try this place on a whim and was very pleasantly surprised. I got the BBQ chicken and practically every side dish available (in my book, sides are everything). Everything was very well flavored and executed. My favorites were the mac & cheese, and the baked beans. Reminded me of food my grandmother cooked when I was growing up. Oh, and had the peach cobbler too - also delicious. Looking forward to ordering again!

Food is good always hot. Sides are alittle small on the platter. Especially the potato salad which is really good

Great tasting remind me of grandma southern cooking I got a 1/2 rack of rib with yams an greens it's was delicious and I also got fried whitening with bread very good as well and my wife got chicken wing platter she said it was good.

I ordered a catfish platter with mac and cheese and string beans. The catfish was seasoned very good, the string beans were good as well. Theac and cheese was good, there were some burnt pieces but other than that the mac and cheese was very cheesy and seasoned just right. I didn't have to wait long and I am glad they take cc now, under the old owners they stopped taking cc so this is an added bonus.

The food is good but the portions is on the lite side compared to other soul food places. For example the rib platters you will only get 4 ribs and two table spoon of sides

Everything was good except my chicken was very pink in the middle(I ordered the bbq chicken wing platter)

The fried shrimp was good but the collard greens taste like cinnamon and the Mac was really salty .

i ordered a turkey wings cabbage and Mac n cheese platter food wasnt hot my sides was ok Mac and cheese was a (7) cabbage was a (7) and the turkey wings was trash a(3) they were slimy over seasoned with Celery over Whelming like 2 hrs later still tasting celery seed but the Seafood Salad was surprisingly tasty and relishing

The only reason this gets 1 star, is because Yelp requires it. This place is GHETTO and the food is BAD. I visited this place last summer and the lady was nice and the food was good. Now, the cashiers ignored me for 5 minutes because they had to finish talking about the latest sneakers. The ribs were so fatty. The hairdresser on the block advised that there are new owners. They SUCK!!!
