Great food court! WonderSlice is some of the best pizza in this entire region. There isn’t a single food item of theirs I don’t like. My other favorite is Chilaquil. The absolute best bean and cheese tacos in this city; they use a very good dark bean to make their tacos. It adds amazing flavor. Must. Try. The atmosphere is nice, but the place can get pretty crowded, and seating is limited. Overall, a must try. You will be back multiple times to test all of the places, and you should!

My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I visited the Food Hall at Bottling over Memorial Day weekend. This review is long over due! The atmosphere is amazing. It’s located in a really cool area of town. Love the urban green space and the outdoor seating options! The inside of the hall has a lot of food options and seating options. I thought that it was well maintained and clean! Everyone seemed very friendly! I’ll do individual reviews for the restaurants we ate from too!! I highly recommend this place when you’re eating with a group or with people with a range of food preferences!! Thank you, Food Hall at Bottling!

Google
Really lovely place to decompress (and rehydrate) after exploring the Pearl complex. The building is absolutely stunning - imposing wood beams rest above you as you dine. The whole thing is exceptionally charming. We had a couple of fantastic frozen mango margaritas and a selection of Mexican food from Chilaquil. All was delicious, and the vibes were immaculate.

Nice food court with handful of restaurants in it! It’s nice that they have inside space as outside could be cold for some people! Love the accommodations like this!

Google
This food hall is small compared to most about 4-5 places to order food/drinks from. I tried “The Real Recipe/Freight Fried Chicken” and it was delicious! I ordered a 3 piece fried chicken with Mac and cheese, sweet tea, and their pecan pie bites. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, that Mac and cheese could be served on an old boot and still steal the show. I enjoyed that I got to keep the container the tea came in, it’s so cute and served as a great water bottle while walking around after. Only thing I didn’t like was the spicy ranch just too tangy for my liking. Joseph was kind, and even came to the table to check on everyone. You don’t get customer service like that at alot of food halls

Google
For a food court place, it is very tasty. If you come expecting the highest quality things then you’ll leave disappointed. That be my said, for being a hipster food court in a hipstery part of town it was very good food. The ambiance is very family friendly and a lot of fun. There we’re kids everywhere and a fountain outside that the kids were treating like a water park. A god time was had by all.

Google
Cute little gourmet food hall. Options for everyone. Clean space, good vibe, great air conditioning when you need a break from the heat. Most places are card only.

Jessica Arevalo

Google
They have several great options to choose from for food. From tacos to pizza to burgers. My choice was the chilaquiles food stand. Plenty of seating inside or outside.

Yelp
Fun spot to grab a bite to eat if you have several people who want to try different vendors. You can order from the shop and eat inside their hall or they have ample outdoor seating and a large lawn where kids can play. There are several good options plus a bar. You can check out the Pullman Market or Hotel Emma, which are both in the same complex. It's also above part of the Riverwalk, which is a nice, peaceful place for a stroll. Cute location for a date! Parking is in the large surface lots under the bridge, next to the Pearl.

Yelp
Really cool place! We ordered from The Freight (chicken tenders and Mac n cheese) and Howdy Child (Reuben sandwich). Both were good but the Reuben sandwich was better! So delicious and we loved the chips too.
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
This review is for "Howdy Child." Ordered the "Pastrami, Slaw, Howdy Sauce." Pastrami is delicious! It has a slight bite to it, but still soft and easy to chew. The Slaw is crisp, and a great complement to cut the fatty pastrami. The slaw was actually quite sweet as well, which put me off at first, but I got used to it and enjoyed it! Although maybe the sweetness was from the Howdy Sauce. Not sure. The sandwich is not gigantic, but the size of a standard loaf of bread sandwich. They do give plenty of meat, though. I would recommend getting this item, and splitting another item from another store in the food hall. 2 Disappointment 1) No pickle on the side. Please give a pickle on the side! 2) Bread is literally like sandwich wheat bread (something like this). It was actually quite unappetizing when I got the order because it looked like a lunch cafeteria sandwich from middle school. Good thing it tasted muchhh better than it looked. Would be nice if they provided some rye bread, or something that provides a better experience + more appetizing look.

Yelp
Restaurants have changed in the last couple of years, but they have some really good selections right now. Really enjoyed the Bolognese pasta from the pasta factory. Can't wait to try. Wonder slice and mi roti.

Catherine K.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick bite but somewhat pricey for what you get. Went in to grab a quick drink from Henbit for my little girl in this heat (a caprisun which usually can be purchased @ 2 for $5 in HEB - 10pk) almost $3.50. Seems a bit greedy guys... just saying!

Yelp
YAY for food halls!! Had the pleasure of eating at every place in this building today. It's clean, they're still taking covid seriously, and it's packed full of some of the best food you'll eat in San Antonio. Staff was really nice as well, even the guy who bumped into me and almost spilled my ramen, he was going to buy me a whole new bowl but luckily, no harm no fowl. They're cleaning tables as fast as they can as well, but 9/10 times people sit down before they can get there. Can't wait to come back and eat again!
google avatar

Yelp
I would argue this is THE best spot at the Pearl! There are several good options and the bar has such a unique and fun menu! We ordered something from all but one spot inside and everywhere was efficient, they take your phone number and text you when your food is ready. Reasonable prices and plenty of options! There are tons of tables, but you do need to be strategic to snag one on a busy night - there's a big green area outside with tables and a splash pad so it's a great spot for families to hang if you're able to find a spot to sit! The tables outside also have QR code's on them so you can order right from the table. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
We had delicious mango margaritas here! Was nice to come out of the heat and hang out at their air conditioned bar. Service was nice. Price was $8.00. They use recyclable plastic glasses too

Yelp
The Bottling Department is such a great concept: a fast-casual food court brimming with fresh, creative cuisine prepared by some of San Antonio's most promising local chefs. I will continue to be a regular at The Pearl's myriad upscale restaurants (Cured, Il Sogno, and Supper, in particular), but I find the no-frills mix-and-match philosophy of the Bottling Department irresistible. Want some kimchi from Tenko Ramen to accompany your blue cheese burger from Fletcher's? No problem! How about a s'mores doughnut from Maybelle's to top off your porchetta plate from Bud's? The only problem is that you'll want more than one doughnut. The food court* stands where The Pearl's original bottling department operated from 1886 until 2001. A fire destroyed the building several years later, but The Pearl salvaged and repurposed what it could and used the original design as an inspiration for the new building. The design retains the appeal of The Pearl's industrial past, but the high ceiling and tall windows create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's a great place to kick back and relax. I've already written reviews for Fletcher's Hamburgers and Bud's Southern Rotisserie, so please consider reading those if you are curious. I plan to post reviews of Tenko Ramen and Maybelle's Doughnuts in the near future, so please stay tuned for those as well. *They refer to it as a "food hall," but as a child of late 80's/early 90's mall culture, I think of it as a "food court." The only difference is that you won't find an Orange Julius nor suffer through an impromptu performance of "Shake Your Love" by Debbie Gibson.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
The Bottling Department is essentially a food hall since they offer a handful of different cuisines including burgers, ramen, southern fried food, and donuts! There's something for everyone. They also have a bar that serves amazing cocktails and local beer. I had the Prickly Pear Margarita with chili and it was SO good. Definitely one of the best margs I've ever had. My coworkers and I came here after work on a Wednesday. There's plenty of seating but I'm sure it could get packed on the weekends. The BD is a super chill hang out spot, definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't already.

Yelp
Bottling Department is an awesome little food court in the heart of San Antonio's famous The Pearl. I wasn't sure what to expect of this food hall, but was pleasantly surprised by all the options. I got some tasty cajun food at one food stall, then ate it across the way with a fresh-squeezed mimosa (yes, it's okay to take things from stall to stall here). Afterwards, I enjoyed the sunshine in their enormous outdoor eating/park area - where a Christmas quartet was playing to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Although, at 70 degrees it didn't really feel like holiday weather to this native Pacific Northwesterner!
google avatar

Yelp
I loved this food hall at the Pearl! We enjoyed several drinks from the bar and also checked out all the restaurants within the Bottling Department the other day! We were pleasantly surprised at the choices that you get at this place! There's a lot of seating inside and outside but when we went (on a Saturday) it was extremely hard to find tables for our party. Thankfully there was someone on duty cleaning up the old tables and disinfecting them for the next party. That helped expedite the whole process of finding a seat. The bar was one of my favorite things about this food hall! We enjoyed all of their options. We got to try a few different restaurants in the food hall. For each restaurant, we placed our order and gave them our cell phone number. We received a text when our order was ready to be picked up. Easy peasy! I can't wait to return to this place!

Yelp
This is a pretty neat area located within the Pearl Historic Area. It is the Pearl's idea of an upscale food court. Ramen, burgers, doughnuts, southern cooking, milkshakes, salads and a bar. What more could you ask for? I have tried all except the ramen and have not been disappointed with any of my choices. This past Saturday at the bar I discovered Live Oak Hefeweizen out of Austin. So delicious. The bartender stated it was the top Hefeweizen in Texas and second in the world. The second claim seems a bit over the top, but what do I know. ( I just returned from Germany and had some really delightful Hefeweizens). Regardless, this place is worth a visit or two. Go there.

Yelp
Love this place, always has the best ramen! A must stop is Tenko Ramen. Clean and has AC A+ I would suggest to the owners of the Bottling Dept. to make sure the free water is cool. On a hot day warm water is not pleasant. I love this place and only want to see it do well. I miss the ice water that used to be served in the Hall.
google avatar

Laura F.

Yelp
I had a Bloody Mary Lemonade from The Bar and Tokyo Shoyu ramen from Tenko. Both were delicious and the service at both was great. They ask that you use hand sanitizer upon entry and wear a mask. They take your number at Tenko and text you when your order is ready. There is ample seating outside and they have heat lamps or fans if needed. Plenty of variety of food options.
google avatar

Fernanda F.

Yelp
Great addition to The Pearl area! This is our first ever Food Hall with five amazing chefs under the same roof! I haven't had the chance to try all five of them but the Ramen by Tenko Ramen is the bomb! Everything from the broth to the chicken was delicious! They also have artisan donuts, sustainable food (paleo), Hamburgers and southern food. Another great thing about the bottling department is their beer and wine bar! They have a good selection of craft beers and wine , which you can take outside and drink at the park in front of the building.
google avatar

Tandy G.

Yelp
This place is badass! It's just like the food halls in NYC and LA! You can get burgers, ramen, chicken, or healthy juices. They even have a bar. You can basically travel around the food stratosphere with this place. Eat your feelings in a/c. Hope to see more of this in SA.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm so excited San Antonio has something like this! My friend and I stopped in here for a bubble break (pink champagne) and couldnt restrain ourselves from getting a fried pie. Each glass of pink champagne was $9 and came in a plastic flute so you can take it outside the bottling dept if you want to. The fried pie was from the donut shop and it was perfect. Not greasy at all, the dough was light and fluffy and the filling was great! $5 for good amount This place has a nice variety of food and the next time I come back I'm trying the ramen place and, of course, getting another fried pie.

Yelp
Loved this place. It was cold in December but still okay to sit outside and loved the lights and ambiance. I do wish there was more sitting inside. I love that can order online and they will deliver to you. My husband and son got ramen and my daughter and I ordered from Mi Roti. The jerk chicken rice bowl was so good. Very flavorful and addictive. I love when we have flexibility There were some games for the kids and some great drink options. Would definitely come here again.

Yelp
Enjoying a nice day out. This mango margarita with chamoy is very refreshing! Only negative is the size seems small for the price.

Yelp
The Bottling Department at The Pearl is technically the name of the food hall (aka food court). There are five or six different places to eat at. BBQ, burgers, ramen, and even healthy food options (shout out to The Good Kind) are available. And then there's the Bottling Department *BAR*...yay! They don't have anything on draft (but that's ok). Everything they offer is in a can and it's mostly regional craft beers. They pour it into a plastic cup and you are free to walk around The Pearl with it. They do have wine, but no liquor. 12 ounce canned beer is between $5 and $7. Yeah, that's a bit steep and seems like airport prices, but everything at The Pearl is pricey. They do have one beer that's only $3, but since it's Pearl beer (barf), I really wouldn't consider that a bargain. It can get pretty loud in the food hall when it gets busy. During special events, the lines for each business can be very long and disorganized.
google avatar

Angel S.

Yelp
The margarita was phenomenal but it was more about the service and conversation that I appreciated most. Bella the bartender was awesome! She made me feel welcome and offered me samples which led me to buy the best margarita iPad since coming to San Antonio.
google avatar

Cynthia T.

Yelp
As if the Pearl didn't have enough variety outside this building, the Bottling Department takes it one step further, hosting food-court style kiosks. These aren't your normal mall food court spots, though. You have ramen, fancy donuts, exquisite burgers, rotisserie chicken, and a bar all ready to serve you some good eats. Since I've reviewed the individual kiosks, I figured the bar would get its review here. They have a pretty decent selection of drinks, though I wasn't too impressed with the beer. They made up for that with their wine and, of course, their michelada. I don't know what was up with me recently, but I'd been craving a michelada. My friend had a better eye than I did and he quickly found the michelada on the menu. I had that (and the bartender suggested a dos equis) and my friend ordered an IPA. They know the Pearl is a place to walk and socialize, so I appreciated the fact that they gave me my refreshing michelada in a plastic glass that still looked fairly fancy/pretty. And I didn't have to worry about returning said glass as we found a shady, isolated spot to enjoy our drinks and have some nice conversation.
google avatar

Jeffrey F.

Yelp
Excellent happy hour prices on cider and drinks. Only from 3 to 6 PM. We tried the pineapple cider and a regular cider that we're both excellent. We also tried the prickly pear with chili salt on the glass that was a new twist on this drink for us. Service was good and the bartender was extremely helpful and suggested the chili salt at no extra charge. Located inside the Pearl District area this is definitely a winner. Get your drink here and then walk around.
google avatar

Yelp
such a cool place to visit, food was so yummy and such a good price. the weekends are super fun too
google avatar

Stacy E.

Yelp
Great place to eat during lunch around 11 am when everyone is in a rush to eat and nobody knows what they want to eat. This place has strong offerings from ramn to Hamburgers and when you're done gobble down a donut from Maybelline's. I started coming here during fiesta because the bar had free medals with purchase and have come here since. They used to have board games but I guess they stopped, so I bring my own monopoly deal to just chill and have fun. They should provide information on their specials on the tables you eat on so you know what to try rather than just walkin up to each window. That would help to provide options and help to return more customers!
google avatar

Pam M.

Yelp
Really wasn't impressed at all with the offerings of the food hall. Sure the food was okay but it wasn't anything special to me. They had a DJ playing music but it was so loud you couldn't even visit. Far too loud for the small space. Not a lot of seating and the food was just mediocre...really I would venture to say it was probably overpriced for what you got. Don't really see a need to go back as it wasn't anything special to us. Our group tried food from 3 or 4 different vendors there and we all agreed that it was just "okay". Reminds you of the food hall in college...nothing spectacular really. It was nice that you could order drinks...beer and wine but no specialty drinks as they didn't have liquor to make a custom drink. Though it was nice that you got a discount during "happy hour" on Monday if you ordered food. Not sure if that is all the time or just on Monday evenings.
google avatar

Yelp
I waited till the hype died down and then I visited the bottling department. I thought it was a great place. It offers a little bit of everything, so if you go with friends, not all of you have to eat the same food. It is set up food court style. There's sitting inside and out. I went on a warm Friday night and I saw many kids in their bathing suits running around in the fountain directly outside the building. Don't expect food court prices and if you do, you have gone to the wrong place. Remember where it is located. You will pay $3 for a donut. They have a bar where you will be served in plastic cups making it easy to take them outside with you to walk around. My only complaint is that it doesn't look like it has room for expansion. It would be super nice if they could add more restaurants as time goes by.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
After 3 visits here, this is a solid 2 star food option. In terms of food options, there's a decent variety of food and drinks but the price is not worth the meal. $8 for rice and small chicken thigh and if you want cornbread add another $3 and that doesn't include a drink. Also, there is no wait service, so for the price you'll be handed a buzzer for when food is ready, muscle your way through the crowd to get to it and after you've eaten, bus your own table. Factor all this with the lack of seating inside and the experience is not too pleasant. You could sit outside but in the summer that means enduring the loud squeals of children playing in the fountain nearby and if you're lucky those soaking wet children's parents are seated near you, so you get to sit right in the middle of their loud interactions. Is the food good? Yes, and that's what keeps this place from a 1 star rating for me.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
My family loves coming to the bottling department or as we call it the fancy food court. They literally have something for everyone. There's affordable Ramen, wine and beer, barbecue, healthy salads, divine donuts, and anything else: you are within walking distance. You can carry your drinks and food all over the pearl. They have good customer service. It's fun, busy & affordable. It's a good place to meet for a work lunch. There's abundant parking. It's next door to a cool bookstore. There's a Splash Pad for the kiddos. There's always something going on right outside the doors of the bottling department!
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
Clean food hall in the middle of a nice part of San Antonio. Limited options with only 6 places, but worth it to check out. Multiple options around here if the food hall doesn't have dining option for you.
google avatar

Sara F.

Yelp
Great location and family friendly. I wish they had more vegan or healthier food options.
google avatar

Andrew ß.

Yelp
Fantastic addition to the pearl Ramen is my favorite place right now, Healthy choice is also great!
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Great place to choose from a variety of different foods. I came here on a Friday night and it's the perfect spot to casually hang out with friends while making sure different taste buds gets satisfied. There's sweets, ramen, rotisserie chicken, shakes, and burgers. We tried Fletcher's burgers and it was the standard burger. Did I mention the bar? They have wine, beers, frozen margaritas, and sangrias. Maybelle's is also a treat to definitely try if you have a sweet tooth. They have gourmet donuts which come in variety of flavors that will blow your mind. This place is good for families especially for kids because they can play outside in the fountains or in the grass area. It wasn't too busy when we went and there was plenty of parking space that helped the flow of things.
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
What they build here is amazing and thank you for making it. This is what they have in Spain, France, England, and New York. I role of food eateries to choose from and eat and relax with family and friends. Please stop here if you're coming in from out of town. It's very beautiful and so much to see here. It's not just for tourists, locals are mostly here.
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
Love the idea of this place, I would eat here. And it's fun to walk around to people watch, dog watch, make out with your significant other, or just simply drink. I wish we had more places like this in SA!
google avatar

Christian M.

Yelp
After buying dinner at Fletcher's, I ordered a Convict Hill oatmeal stout. Their selections at the bar are mostly, if not all, local or regional in nature. It's a fun little bar in a great location.

Ethan V.

Yelp
Every food option is dank and the drinks are a perfect pairing for sitting in the park
google avatar

Kaitlyn C.

Yelp
I enjoyed their Lime margarita but wasn't impressed with their bartender. I didn't catch her name but At first I ordered a mango margarita and changed my mind to a lime margarita. She made an expression that was just inconvenient and annoying to her..she hadn't even poured anything or grabbed a glass for that matter..then she took my card and handed it right back and moved on. Def won't go back here if that's the service they provide at "the bar at the b dept"
google avatar

Yelp
I COULDN'T WAIT to go here!!!! I visited Denver and they have a place like this and I thought... hmmm this would be so awesome at the Pearl and the Trendy FOODIE Gods heard me! in the past I would go to the Pearl, usually with a few kids in tow and while we had a blast and found some kid friendly snacks... it never seemed to have what we needed to have a full meal BUT NOW! This place offers that and MORE! We didn't eat, just cooled off with drinks, but you can't go wrong (no kids on this visit). There is a variety of food and something for pretty much anyone! I love the Pearl and now I LLUUUVVVVV IT even more! If you haven't been go now haha!
google avatar

Curt C.

Yelp
Coolest food court in town! This place is in the center of the Pearl Brewery, right next door to Bakery Lorraine, the fountain, and a big plaza. Jazz, TX is right downstairs from this retro looking area. It's been transformed from the old bottling line of the Pearl Brewery into a nice public space where you can choose from ramen, or donuts, burgers, or just grab a beer! There are restrooms outside of the place, next door. Even though this area gets rather crowded at times, they still keep it clean. If you can't find a seat, be sure to pull up some of the fake turf outside the food court in the shade by the fountain that allows kids and dogs to splash around. There's trays to bus your own table, and jugs of water to keep you hydrated. The whole food court is air conditioned, which is appreciated in the hot South Texas sun. Make sure you check out the other businesses around here- they're all local, and do some fantastic stuff!
google avatar

Stephen C.

Yelp
The concept is great, like an upscale mall food court. However the seating is insufficient for the number of patrons. My perception is the turnover rate for the tables is very low as it is more of a hang out place than an eat and go place. Adding more tables would just make the place more crowded than it already is. Perhaps this will improve as the newness wears off. Time shall tell.
google avatar

Ilya R.

Yelp
Excellent experience at the Bottling Department this afternoon. We managed to get a table despite it being peak hours without any issue, and ordering over the phone app was quick and easy. For an unclear reason, the nachos we ordered never arrived despite us getting a notification that said it was delivered. I brought this up to the manager, who quickly and instantly personally took care of the whole situation, comped the nachos, and even gave us a free round of delightful cocktails. Excellent customer service, there was a local musician playing, weather was great, everything went swimmingly. Give this place a try if you're looking for something to do on an easy afternoon.
google avatar

Michelle O.

Yelp
I was super excited to check this place out. I'm not really sure if it lives up to the huge hype. Bottling Department is definitely a great concept and super cool but it could be better. First of all there is never anywhere to sit. You have to get whoever you are there with to go stalk people that are finishing eating to take their table while you wait in line and order. Next, so far the only place worth eating at is the ramen. Although I have not tried the chicken or the burger place, the sandwich and donut place have left me disappointed. The place is pretty, though. If you are in the area and want something relatively quick it is a good option. But if you want to play it safe definitely go with the ramen. Not only is it good, but it's the only spot that won't make you feel like you just got ripped off.

Yelp
I love that this is a thing in San Antonio now! I've been to food halls in other countries (never in the US though) and they are great experiences. It's nice to have an upscale food court and to be able to try many things at one time. Out of the 5 food spots, I've only tried The Good Kind, Tenko Ramen, and Maybelle's Donuts. All three were great. I tried a to go item from The Good Kind: a vegan chia seed pudding. It wasn't my favorite item, but everything else looks really really good, and I love that they have vegan and veggie friendly foods. I'm wishing I would've tried one of their toasts, juices, or bowls. (There's always next time!) Tenko is the bomb, of course. I got the vegetarian ramen, the Double Mushroom. It was suuuuper savory, which is hard to get out of a veggie broth sometimes. Magic, I tell you! The corn seemed a bit undercooked, but it gave a nice little crunch to the ramen, so...maybe it was supposed to be? :) And of course Maybelle's Donuts were delish. I'm pretty picky about my donuts, so although the cake donuts were a bit heavy for my taste, the glazes were on point. The flavors were all amazing. Also, I just tried the lemon curd filled donut...if they have this one, YOU MUST GET IT. My all-time fave. Everyone seems to love the S'mores one, but I think the lemon curd is the one to beat. Of course there are some things they could improve on. I've been at non-busy times, so I haven't had an issue with seating, but it seems like this might be an issue since the inside is pretty tiny. (Of course when the weather finally cools down in December, it will be lovely to sit outside!!) Prices are a bit high, but it's the Pearl, so you should go in expecting that anyway.

Yelp
Bottling Company opened just in time for the last Monday Movie at The Pearl. Thankfully, we hadn't had dinner (on purpose) so we could check out the offerings! Tenko Ramen was closed that day, so we ordered at Fletcher's Hamburgers. I had the patty melt and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich. Both were tasty and fresh, and perfect for picnicking on the Pearl lawn! Sadly, the sandwiches were hearty enough that I wasn't even hungry for a donut! Those looked amazing and I'll have them next time we're there!
