"Located on a street corner, the signage is inconspicuous, but its popularity with locals mean that it can’t be missed. This simple eatery has been open for some 30 years, but only in the mornings, which makes it just the ticket to sample the local breakfast. The signature dish, koay teow th'ng, is rice noodle soup with fish balls, deep-fried garlic, shredded chicken and lettuce. The tasty soup broth is made from hen and pork bones." - Michelin Inspector

Koay Teow Th'ng,the broth is sweet and clear, made by simmering old hen and pork bones over low heat for a long time. The soup is crystal clear, yet has a rich and complex flavor profile. Paired with a cup of bittersweet Kopi O, it's a very typical Penang brunch combination. Taste of old Penang

Went here for the Kuey Teow Thng at 6:30am. Wasn’t very packed and the service was very friendly. Food was nice - it’s on the clean tasting side which I like, and a good way to enjoy breakfast without it being too heavy. Drinks were also very good - the Kopi C tasted nice and strong.

Typical kopitiam with hawkers offering Kuey Teow soup and White Curry Mee. The Kuey Teow soup has light clean flavours and the noodles is the thin variety.

Superb kway Teow soup. There is super good yam cake and steam otah too. The staffs are friendly (direct and humorous kind). We ordered the dry mee tai mak also nice. The fish balls are not but and not the usual bouncy kind but solid with real fish. Limited seats in the shop. The papo gu leng Peng (iced babao milk tea) is very nice too.

The fishballs are so authentic. The rice noddle soup is tasty. Will return to eat in every visit.

Being a Michelin recommended place, I had to come try it. To me it's ok but nothing to bowl me over. If you come early, they only have KTT but you can order from the next door kopitiam if you want some variety. As far as the shop is concerned, they do have some kuih but those are only sold after 9am. As far as the KT is concerned, they have 2 versions as expected, dry and soupy. I found their soup light. Probably fits those who like light delicate flavours but unfortunately not for me. I prefer a bit more body and zing to the soup which this was lacking. They are, however generous with their kt. And you will end up quite full from it. Even the dry version wasn't really spectacular. The soy taste combo was pretty average IMHO and didn't stand out much. Fortunately the fish ball was yummy. It's a bit different from other locations as it's quite soft, doesn't have the elastic springy consistency you normally find with other places, and because of that, I found it delicious. As also, with most KTT places, you can add on intestines, liver, chicken feet to bulk up your meal. As for the shop, it's clean, it's inviting and comfortable to dine at. And if you come during holidays and early enough, parking at the road side is quite easy to find.
