Foolproof Whiskey Bar

You'd be a fool not to go. I went to foolproof for the first time on Saturday ( Valentine's Day) for brunch and it's such an amazing and beautiful space, a little FYI: the bathrooms are very, very, clean. The decor is so inviting, the lighting is just right, the people are great, it's just so warm and cozy that you wouldn't want to leave .The bartender was superb I'm so upset with myself because I didn't get his name but he provided excellent service and he's very knowledgeable about the spirits . I met the owner too, he's such a gentleman and very easy to talk to. We had the pastrami and egg breakfast sandwich, which is mouthwatering and absolutely delicious, it comes with fries or a salad, go for the salad, trust me, it's a Kale salad with apples and an out of this world dressing. It's in the running for my favorite salad ever, try it and you'll thank me later . I also tried the tres leches dessert and boy o boy, it was fantastic; decadant but not too sweet. Now I saved the best for last : the whiskey and bourbon collection here is astronomical and phenomenal and beautiful. They curated such a wonderful collection, you will definitely find something to love . I spent the better part of the afternoon lounging and sampling different whiskeys and bourbons that I had researched, along with recommendations from the bartender. I had such a wonderful time and I can't wait to return .

Went based on a local recommendation because of the extensive whiskey collection and was NOT disappointed. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable with excellent recommendations. Met Andy who guided us through some amazing flights and small batch/distillery bottles I otherwise would not have had the chance to taste. Pricing is well on par with what you would expect. Extra bonus was the live jazz playing for a few hours during the evening. Would definitely recommend you check this spot out if you love whiskey/bourbon/scotch and would like to broaden your tasting experience.

Foolproof was an amazing spot for after work drinks with friends! I had one of their mocktails, which was delicious, and my friends tried their whiskey cocktails and some of their whiskey selections. I believe they mentioned they have around 300 different types of whiskey. In addition to their delicious drinks, we split a charcuterie board (I forgot to take a picture before we dug in, but you can see how much we were enjoying it from my halfway through shot). All of their meats are cured in house, and they were AMAZING! I would definitely come back and drag all my friends. Highly recommend!

New whiskey bar has great drinks and some interesting food. I recommend the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned and the Boulevardier (with hints of banana). I had the Burrata sandwich, which was great, but my friend got the French Dip sandwich and that pastrami was amazing and I instantly regretted my choices. Don’t forget the desert. This place has the best chicken caesar salad wraps! Their happy hour is also great (many options to choose from). The vibe is cozy and candlelit and the staff is great (always service with a smileeee). We're not even big whiskey drinkers so can't really comment on that. We seriously just come here for the chicken caesar salad wraps and have even ordered them to go. They are even fantastic the next day. The tortilla is flavorful and has the right amount of chew, the kale is fresh, the chicken is grilled and not dry, and the caesar dressing is anchovy, punchy, parm-heavy, and one of the best I've tried. Don't know how they do it! This photo I have doesn't do it justice. I just wanted to take a photo before I devoured the whole thing so I could remember how tasty it was. Next time I'm back I'll try to take a more aesthetic photo. I'm moving away from the neighborhood soon and am seriously sad I can't visit as frequently anymore.

Opening day brunch was fire. Pastrami frittata for the win-the side greens were fresh with the brightest dressing. Bloody Mary was choice cocktail -service was top notch Owner proprietor Andy has brought something special to Driggs !!! The bar is beautiful -find a seat and order a cocktail!

We came here to kick off our bar crawl and were pleasantly surprised! The salad days original cocktail was so goood! Happy to say I found my new summer drink. 🔥we also got the pineapple princess, it was super refreshing 👌. Staff was great and friendly, definitely coming back!

We went to Foolproof for their Taco Tuesday special and really enjoyed the shrimp ceviche, the pastrami carnitas taco (sooo good) and a few of their drinks including a tasty NA shandy. The interior design and vibe is really chill, especially loved the red leather booth. We’ll definitely be back!!

This place is unreal! 5 stars doesn't even do it justice. The atmosphere is super welcoming, the drinks are exceptional, and the food was divine. Like Michelin level divine. It's a very vibey place you want to hit every day for a drink after work. The owner Andy, who is also a bartender, is incredibly knowledgeable and will have you loving whiskey before you know it. All of the staff are people you want to be friends with. Cannot recommend Foolproof enough!!

There are times where life delivers something so benevolent and so abundant to you that you almost can't believe your eyes and that is exactly what Foolproof is! A Haven for whiskey! Jack Rose's smaller Brooklyn sibling! Not only are the whiskey choices incredible but the cocktail program is knock out good and the food is beyond belief! They have a mac & cheese that could rival the best in New York City!

Excellent addition to Williamsburg! An enormous selection of spirits, delicious food and warm, friendly service. The space is inviting and comfortable.

What a beautiful bar - such a nice vibe and tasteful decor. Foolproof has a very extensive drink menu and there's something for everybody. Highly recommend for a night out!

Never have I ever written a review on Yelp but I have decided to come out of the woodwork to recommend this whiskey bar in Brooklyn. My wife, our 7 month old (oops!), and I were with some friends near McCarren Park looking for something to do on a Saturday evening when we stumbled into Fullproof on what was apparently their opening weekend. Are the drinks a 6/5? Yes. Does the place have more whiskeys than I can try in a lifetime or than I can pretend to discern the difference between? Yes but their beautiful bar still motivates me to try. Did I leave realizing I now must go only go to bars where the chef cures their own pastrami? Yes. But none of these reasons are why I am motivated to write this review. I am writing this review because after 10 years in Williamsburg, I have finally found a high-quality bar that does not overcharge for what I am getting, where the bar-tenders, the owner, and the waitstaff seem to actually want every patron to have a superb experience. You don't feel rushed or crammed or forgotten about ever. It is a total respite from the worst of every other bar in New York. Bravo, Fullproof, bravo.
