For The Culture Brewing Brings Diversity to Houston’s Growing Craft Beer Scene - Eater Houston

"For The Culture Brewing Company, a majority African-American-owned brewery, is perhaps Houston’s first to be owned by brewers of color. Co-founders Jonathan Brown and Carl Roaches Jr. have been serving their brews at pop-ups around town — mostly alumni tailgates, private events, and weddings — for the past six months, and now they’re looking to buy a permanent location inside the loop. They’re planning to open their forthcoming taproom and brewery that uses a 15-barrel brewing system sometime in 2019 with three of their co-owners, all men of color." - Alaena Hostetter

Cool taproom! Free WiFi good people, good prices. Two TVs and a large selection of beer. If you mixed an Irish pub with a warehouse taproom this is what you get! Super comfy vibes! Bring your friends

Google
Great beer! I had a flight and a couple tastes of others and they were all really good. I've been telling all my friends about this place. I'll definitely return. There's no food but you're welcome to bring your own.

Google
Truly a place for the people. They've got unique and delicious craft beer brews and a very down-to-earth, grassroots vibe. I instantly felt comfortable and the bartenders and owners were great to talk to!

Great variety of beers. Staff is incredible and very attentive to each guest. Great open space with 3 TVs (perfect for a college football Saturday). Even had a couple food trucks just outside to choose from. I’ll be back often!

I’ve been to No Label and Karbach and I couldn’t find a beer or sour I enjoyed, but the beers (Alpha Kong) and ciders (Cherry one 😍) here are the best flavorful drinks I have ever had! Hands down the most chill and inviting atmosphere. Great Job y’all the place looks amazing.

We went on Sunday PM, and it was dead... it might be because there were big baseball and football games in town... the place is kind of hard to find. The beer is good, their IPAs (I had the sampler) were very good. The gentleman behind the bar was not particularly engaged but he was friendly. Worth a second visit to see if it's different on Friday or Saturday.

Yelp
This was a nice vibe. I came on a HBCU game night and enjoyed myself. The beers were pretty good as well and the staff were very friendly. It was a little difficult to locate when driving in but a nice little spot to check out Black Owned Business is a plus as well!

Yelp
We love this place and the beer! Definitely will be back. Don't let the outside (former Sherwin Williams paint store) fool you, Ovinnik is great! Give them a try!

Yelp
This is a pretty unassuming brewery, there are a few signs outside that signify that beer is served on the grounds but otherwise you might miss it while driving around! This place definitely gave old school brewery vibes - local murals on the inside, t-shirts with cool logos for sale, simple seating, and big fans instead of AC. Their beers pack a punch and are unique - two different breweries serve beer here - I tried the VooDoo Kitty - I enjoyed the complex flavor although it was a bit on the sweet side. They have some great light beers on tap that are good for the summer heat. The day we went they had live synthesizer music which was cool! Our bartender was attentive and knowledgeable about the beers. Will check this place out again!

Yelp
This is a combined review for Ovinnik and For The Culture on Saturday night 3/9. Stopped here before a concert downtown. The beer, service and prices were all great. You can't beat two breweries under one roof. Would definitely stop by again.

Yelp
Legit brewery, good mix of beers and top swag. Pup friendly - water bowls and treats. Looks closed if you drive by - head to the back.
