For The Win - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Our favorite smashburger spot in the city has opened a new location at LA’s most cursed shopping mall, Beverly Center. We wish them nothing but the best. Expect the same menu found at any of For The Win’s nine other locations, including the lacy double smash on a potato bun, fried chicken sandwiches, and crispy brussel sprouts. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Ordered pickup from here tonight and the below is what we received. Fries that look like someone ate half of them, 1 burger looking absolutely inedible, and 1 with the bun put on upside down?? Not pictured is the giant pile of mushy onions thrown in the middle of my burger for some reason. Maybe they were supposed to be grilled with the patty? They literally threw these burgers into a box and potentially gave us someone’s old fries? Store was absolutely empty, and there’s no working phone number to reach them. Don’t waste your money here.

Google
Actually used to like this place but then this location opened up. Absolutely the worst customer service. No one here is happy to work here absolutely miserable. The worst part I tried brining my gf and friend here to try and we get there at 9:30pm and they have everything shut off. Grill off. Chairs up on tables and staff just standing there behind counter. We go are you still open? Remind you the place closes at 10pm. They go yeah we’re closed. Then change your operation time to say closed at 9:30pm because there is no reason they should be closed and not serving smash burgers 30 minutes before they close. It’s the one item they sell. Total joke. Go to Burger She Wrote down street. Better yet the Win-Dow they have a new location at the Grove smash burger is half the price and probably even better.

Google
I ordered from DoorDash while visiting LA. I had seen an influencer post about it and was excited to try but got nervous with all these mixed reviews. It was excellent! If you like smash burgers, this is it! Taste similar to in n out but with a little kick. The fries were great too, especially for the delay with delivery. Definitely would recommend.

Google
Man, after hitting up one Franklin i was looking forward to this, however this spot was def sub par in comparison. To much sauce, no maillard on the bottom of the patty. Fries were decent but salty af.

Mark OShea

Google
Food is disgusting and tastes like leather. Staff say this is how all the burgers come out so I would definitely avoid wasting your money here. Go to McDonald’s instead the quality is 10x better.

Cameron Jameson

Google
For the fail. Situated on busy W 3rd, this dumpster fire of a restaurant can’t keep AC at a reasonable temperature when it’s only 78 degrees outside, and be prepared to overpay for a bottle of water because they don’t believe in free tap water here. The burger is mid af and the fries are over salted. First and last time I’ll give this place my money.

Best smash burger in LA , this branch inside Beverly shopping center

Google
I was so excited to try out this new location by the Beverly center but this place is awful… for starters the store itself is dirty, the tables and seats were covered in grease and food bits. Took at least 20 minutes for us to get our order despite the store being empty. I got the single cheeseburger which was $9 and ridiculously priced for how small it is. I am so confused how they are charging $1 to add a slice of tomato or a leaf of lettuce. They take smash burger to the next level, it really looks like someone took out all their anger and demolished the patty on the grill. My cheese wasn’t even heated all the way!? It was still cold and firm in the middle. The Brussel sprouts were totally overcooked and I don’t think there was even a speck of seasoning or salt on them. I literally had to ask the worker for a bowl of salt to make them edible. The fries were good. Overall, 2/5 and I would not come back here and would not recommend anyone come back here.

Yelp
Solid solid burger. Not usually a fan of chocolate shakes but it was great. Staff was super nice and gave us a couple drinks on the house.

Yelp
LOCATION: Soooo glad they opened this branch in West LA!! Saves me the drive to the Hollywood area street parking or parking lot available nearby. Lots of open seating. FOOD: the fries are simple but sooooo good. My favorite fries of all time. the strawberry milkshake is the BEST. highly recommend if you love strawberry - takes like strawberry Hagen daaz in a cup lol. Burgers are great, can't go wrong! Service is fast casual.

Yelp
I would have ordered a double cheeseburger, but my husband was at the cardiologist so I figured I'd get a single to not accelerate the likelihood of having to visit as well. A single cheeseburger is $9 and comes with pickles, fried onions and sauce. It's about the size of a McDonald's regular hamburger but waaaaay better. I swore I was just going to eat a few bites to save my arteries from further clogging but damn if I didn't devour the entire thing. Got a side of fries which were a dead ringer for McDonald's fries (which is good thing). Only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it's expensive compared to The Window. The space is quite large and there's parking in the garage ($1 for the first hour).

Yelp
In this business, we have to be hospitable. No warm welcome or hello when I came i. I could have ordered for touch screen. But I didn't, I spoke to the employee, let him know what I wanted vs asking me how could he help me. If this is your business plan. I get it, it's a burger joint. Find some rock stars employee to be the face of your business!! Management you can do better. The burger was good!

Yelp
Thought I'd try this place given the amount of locations they have and this being a newer location - it was really pricey for the money you pay.. I ordered a double smash burger which was good but $12.50, then added luke warm McDonald's styled fries for $4.95, and finally finished off with a vanilla milkshake for $7.25 ..totaling the bill to $27.05. The burger was served on a round paper plate making it hard to pickup as the burger was almost falling apart; and drank with thin paper straws that isn't suitable for drinking shakes as it'd fall apart. Given the overall experience, I'd wish I took my $27.05 elsewhere like HiHo burger where it's similarly priced (if not cheaper) and offers an overall better and elevated experience for a fast casual restaurant. Service was good and staff were kind though!

Yelp
I love FTW burgers! They're well seasoned and have great flavor which I appreciate! They sweet potato fries are also nice crispy and fresh. They're also a little burnt and I love the crunch it adds. In this instance I ordered UberEats but I've been to one of their locations and the ambiance is very chill and casual. The service was also good too. I didn't have any problems there. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I think i really tried to like this place based on the raving reviews. I will say it taste good but dang that price tag is INSANE. I got a double smash with bacon and jalepeno and sweet potato fries with a diet coke and that came out to $30. It tasted great but not $30 great. I would say a fair price would be $18 or something. Since it is a smash burger the patties are extremely thin anyways. There's a ton of other resturants in the area where $30 will get you 2x the meal. I would still say you should give this place a shot if you haven't tried a smash burger though! Taste: 4/5 clogged arteries Service: 4/5 they doing their best Ambience: 5/5 big spacious Affordability: 2/5 but we are in Beverly hills

Yelp
Was super excited to try the smashburger here bc I kept seeing this place on Instagram! I was in the area so decided to stop by on a Tuesday during lunch, there was no wait at all and you can order through the self service kiosk. (Screens are really hard to see bc of the sun) The burger $9 (quite pricey) but, it was really good!! It's one of the best smashburgers I've had in a while! They even have sweet potato fries, which I ordered! I wanted to try the strawberry milkshake but it wasn't available when I went. You also get free fries for writing a yelp review :)

Yelp
This was my second time trying For the Win and I liked it better than the first time. I thought it tasted mediocre the first time at another location but this location made my burger to perfection. I wanted some greens with the burger so I ordered the brussel sprouts which paired well with the heaviness of the burger.
google avatar

Yelp
Phenomenal smash burger. Very well seasoned. Crispy edges and potato buns. Great cheese. Really good fries. Nice and crispy, too. Huge, loft-like space. Minimal staff. Doesn't matter. Great food.

Yelp
First time at this for the win, usually I go to the one by the 101 / Hollywood blvd area. I got my usual items, a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and Brussels sprouts. Everything was flavorful and as impressive as the other location. Service was quick and a bit more of seating vs the other location. Nice spot for a burger and parking at the Beverly center was only $1
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to ftw before in downtown. I love how this location is super spacious. Parking might be a little difficult considering that it's in Beverly center. Food wise I think this is my favorite smash burger place. I love how crispy the burger is and the sauce is amazing. The portions are good too. I got the cheeseburger single with bacon soooo good. The workers there were super friendly. You can either order with them or through the iPad.
google avatar

Yelp
Came to For the Win after boxing class because my friends were insisting and smashburgers on a Hawaiian bun are my favorite! It's located on the first floor of the Beverly Center. I ordered a single smashburger and some fries. I think the single is a perfect meat to bun ratio. The cheese, pickles, onions and the sauce are a must. I would say that the sauce had a bit too much mustard and mustard isn't my favorite as I find it too tangy, but still delicious. The fries were fine, very similar to McDonald's and they had a lot of salt. Other than that they are flavorful and I didn't even use any ketchup. I'd say this place deserves a spot on your list to try!

Yelp
I was pretty hungry at 4pm without having eaten anything today. Heard this was best burger but more like heart attack burger , so greasy, crispy, meaty?, cheesy, pickles, yeah. my fingers got so oily and sticky eating this when picking it up. Try it once in your life is fine. The area has expensive shops and dining so I guess it's fair price. (12.50$ for double cheese burger). Service is quick depending on my on the line. , good workers

Yelp
So excited for this new location that opened up in Beverly Center. It looks very clean and modern! definitely a lot more spots than their original/other locations. Their ordering system is efficient as they have a cashier and 2 kiosks to order yourself. Parking is either metered or you can park in the Beverly Center. Love their original single smash burgers and that they have brussel sprouts as a side :)
google avatar

Kristen C.

Yelp
Solid smash burger! Tried the cheeseburger, fries and a vanilla shake and all were delicious. The fries were thin, hot, and had just the right amount of salt. The burgers were really good, I wish it didn't cost extra for toppings like lettuce or tomatoes though. Complementary tap water was not available unfortunately. Service was quick and there was lots of seating inside. The restaurant is attached to the Beverly center so we parked in the garage.

Yelp
This place is so good! you walk in and it smells amazing ready! so glad this came to the neighborhood. can't wait for the ktown one! The fry sauce is amazing and shouldn't be slept on.

Yelp
I'm so tired of these incredible places selling out for quantity over quality. I've been a huge fan since the OG location and didn't mind waiting 30-40 min knowing I was gonna get a delicious and affordable burger. Was near Beverly grove and was excited to grab a smash burger only to receive the saddest smash burger with undercooked fries. I asked for ketchup not from a packet and they didn't have that either. STOP SELLING OUT it's a recipe for the beginning of the end. Greed is the downfall of great things. Won't come back here or any other locations.
google avatar

Isaac J.

Yelp
They should change their close times hours to 9:30 instead of 10pm. I just wanted a smashed one.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite stop for smash burgers in the valley ! Nothing compares ! The burgers are so flavorful! The prices a a bit high for a burger but it's really delicious! The food is always cooked fresh! The fries are flavored perfectly ! The service is always fast ! The place is small but I always manage to find a table before my food is ready!
google avatar

Leilani T.

Yelp
our burger was super salty ... but it would have been really good with less salt. I would try again with less salt.
google avatar

Crismico C.

Yelp
Love the Whittier location and was happy to see that they have one close by to my studio! Amazing fries and burgers

Yelp
This is not for the win! Honestly is for the Loss!!! Full of salt! Super expensive smashed burger! couldn't even finish the burger.

Yelp
We got 3 double cheeseburgers (two with bacon) and sweet potato fries between the two of us , but these smash burgers are bigger than what we're used to. 2 would've been the perfect amount. The burgers had so much flavor and juice. The sweet potato fries are a must too. They had the perfect texture. The restaurant is nice, clean, and spacious. Parking is easy if you park in the Beverly connection garage. Service is ok. Minus 1 star because they don't have free tap water.

L E.

Yelp
**Unbelievably Rigid and Unaccommodating - Never Again** I have never experienced a restaurant so unwilling to accommodate a simple request. We had a vegetarian in our group and asked if we could add a tomato to their grilled cheese--just a slice of tomato! The answer? A flat-out **no.** Thinking maybe we could work around their inflexible menu, we offered to **pay full price for a burger with toppings and simply remove the meat**--again, a **hard no.** This wasn't a complicated or unreasonable request. We weren't asking for substitutions or freebies--we were **willing to pay.** But apparently, For the Win Burgers would rather enforce arbitrary rules than provide basic customer service. The attitude from the staff was just as disappointing--zero willingness to help, no attempt at a solution, just a robotic "no." If you have any dietary preferences or restrictions, don't expect even an ounce of flexibility here. There are plenty of great burger spots in LA that actually care about their customers--**this is not one of them.** One-star, and that's only because I can't give zero. **Never coming back.** We have reached out to the owner of the establishment as the staff continued to be rude and disrespectful.

Yelp
First time coming here. I ordered a hamburger and vanilla milkshake and it was yummy. Will definitely come back again since I work at the hospital and they give an employee discount which is wonderful and very unexpected. Thank you for the great service.

Yelp
Woo! Another win scored by FTW opening another branch in town, landing at Beverly Center. Super easy parking and less line on Sunday lunch time! Tons of people also seem to pre order for pickup, but if you wanna dine in, there's plenty of space. Been hearing everyone raving about it being best smash burger in town so yeah, feeling kinda missed out just being able to try it. The menu is pretty straightforward, either the smashed beef burger or fried chicken sandwich, and you have the option to go double or triple, adding more stuffing like bacon, cheese, and other condiments. For me, double it is with extra bacon for sure. First bite and I can verify it's slapping! Extremely flavorful especially enjoying it with their signature sauce, and the beef is flawlessly juicy and tender, perfect combo with the crispy bacon. As for sides, their sweet potato fries are must-have; awesome duet of sweet and savory. Another one I'll surely go for next is the brusselsprouts just out of curiosity.

Lety P.

Yelp
DELICIOUS!! Amazing, juicy, savory burger. Fries and Brussel sprouts equally good. Great location with easy parking.
google avatar

Glydia C.

Yelp
Easy to order on the screen. Got the cheese burger with fries. Delicious! No water cup provided. They have only bottled water available for purchase. Ambiance is super casual. Parking in the Beverly center lot.

Yelp
I was highly anticipating finally trying a For The Win burger only to be incredibly disappointed. I arrived at the location at approximately 9:15PM and the restaurant was closed, contrary to what it states on a Google search and Yelp. I understand it's New Year's Eve, but if you are going to close early, your published hours should reflect the early closing. There is fierce competition for burger dollars and For the Win comes highly recommended, but will have to go to the back of the line, for the time being.
google avatar

JJ A.

Yelp
Is everyone OK? This is honestly the worst burger I've ever had. Flat, obviously - it's "smashed," soggy, gross. $20 for this on a cheap plastic tray and a paper plate. Service is non-existent. The cashier seemed utterly miserable. This place is everything wrong with today, TikTok culture, the Internet, everything....
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Love this chain. Great burgers. Think this location needs to work out the kinks or maybe the grill needs more time to be seasoned.

Yelp
I was excited to see them open at the Beverly Center. The smash burgers are fantastic as are the fries. Very clean and well run restaurant. Friendly staff, plenty of easy parking and indoor seating. Not as busy as expected, our food was ready quickly. Prices are a bit high, but the burgers are well worth it, highly recommended!

andrew c.

Yelp
place was freezing cold. no tap water for guests... have to buy. no place on the website to contact the company. yes the burgers are good, but this is cynical. welcome to the era of the grift. it's everywhere. accountability out the window. for the win. yeah.

Yelp
I recently visited FTW burgers near Beverly center and got a chance to try their internet famous burger. The smell of the food was very enticing and the pictures of the burger looked very appetizing. However upon entry to the establishment there is an aggressively abrasive ambiance that is manifested by the medically sterile white lighting, dead silence lack of music, and the depressing mood from the staff which I can only assume is due to management that obviously hates their employees and likely underpays and creates a hostile work environment. Now onto the food; why are we charging for water and refusing to provide water cups to patrons? (Is this the subjugation that residents of LA county endure?) Now I will say my burger was indeed as delicious as the pictures would have you believe, and I wanted to not like it but I won't lie it was damn good. However what takes the invigorating savor of your burger right out of your mouth is the fact you forked over an additional 3 dollars for a measly slice of tomato and a sprig or two of ice burg lettuce. You are forced to swallow your own spit because FTW decided you as a customer don't deserve water, thus because of all these reasons to enjoy such a burger feels sinful and is an affront to basic morality. Maybe the best retribution for this experience is if a kind person bought me a FTW burger and brought me to a park where we can enjoy our own stereo and be blessed by a public water fountain. (If they have those in Los Angeles) I will not be returning.

Yelp
So good as always! Consistent between the 3 locations I've been to! The perfect texture and the double with bacon is filling!

Yelp
After all the hype smash burger pop-ups around town had to come back to For The Win. This was THE MOST PERFECT MEAL/SMASHBURGER I have had in months. I would also like to add that the Beverly Hills location (by Cedars) on Thursday at 5:30pm had made me a burger that was perfectly moist, a fry that was perfectly fried, a shake perfectly thick and service that was relaxed yet quick! Often with smash burgers you end up having to re assemble the burger because it looks like it's been "whipped together". Take a look at the photo below. The Burger was perfect!
google avatar

Kathryn S.

Yelp
Went to take friends parents after a long day visiting at the hospital and after waiting over 45 minutes we finally got our food only for it to be the completely wrong order. Asked to remake a few items and it took an additional 15 minutes, while we spoke with several other customers who were upset with the lack of efficiency and stark difference from how the Franklin location is run. I witnessed a couple demand for their money back, several customers claiming their frustration, and none of the employees cared at all. In addition, the trash was over flowing, taking over the entire counter and looked like a take out station. This was truly a horrific experience after an already stressful day. If you are going to be located in a high traffic area, you should be prepared to service all tables plus take out/online orders and staff more than 2 people.

Yelp
LOVE For the Win! I'm so glad they're open at Beverly Center. The dining room is huge, theres plenty of parking and the food is incredible as always. I get a double cheeseburger and fries with a strawberry shake - YUM! Service is great from all of the teams. So glad they're closer to the west side!!

Yelp
Super happy to have a FTW close by. Beautiful new space at Beverly Center. Staff is friendly and burger is just as good as the original location. Definitely hits the burger craving.

Yelp
First timer here. The reviews are on point. These burgers are really tasty! The fries are good too and they come in big portions. We ordered through Postmates and got $10 off. Definitely a steal!
