If you are looking for a healthy, casual spot (while also supporting local in a big way), here it is! I think you could call this your go-to, affordable and healthy/high protein spot. One of those places you feel good about eating at:) This started in Madison and has been expanding. We came in on a Sunday afternoon … lots of seating available, steady stream of people coming in, both picking up to go and ordering in. There are a few options - table seating, counter and high top seating or a cute little outdoor garden area. You order at the counter and they make it in front of you. Everything from scratch and reasonable prices. The best part is, it’s as delicious as it is healthy. Really fresh, creative options. They are willing to customize and there are a lot of gluten free and vegan options. The black rice base is wonderful. I ordered the chicken bacon Caesar wrap and could only eat half - it was so packed full! I saved the other half for my next day lunch. My husband got the Fiesta Bowl and added hot honey chicken - I should have taken an after picture, because he left absolutely nothing!! Street parking is easy, the place is super open, filled with light and easy seating. This would be a great place for even meeting friends or for a casual meeting space - I noticed they also offer catering so included that in photos. This is definitely for your “healthy, must come often” list!

First time at a Forage Kitchen. Stopped in to get a salad. Love the idea of having a fresh salad bar where I can custom make the perfect salad combination. This location is on a nice corner. The interior has plenty of natural light from the large windows. There are cafe tables outside, under umbrellas. I arrived a little bit before noon, and was able to order right away. The staff person efficient, polite, but not especially friendly. I ordered the Local Roots salad, which is exactly that, root vegetables. I also ordered a can Tepache beverage. Didn't take very long to have it made up. It was a good portion. They offered a piece of sourdough bread too. Took it outside and enjoyed it under an umbrella on the outside patio. The salad was good, but not great. Couple of things that would have made it better (IMHO). The beets were a bit over cooked, and the roasted brussel sprouts were a bit undercooked. The addition of roasted fennel is excellent. The bread was a bit tasteless. A baguette would be a much better option. I'd come back and give it another try.

Basically Sweetgreen in the form of a small business within the Midwest. Food: a lot of healthy and affordable options. The Thai bowl was a bit sweet for my tastes but the power bowl was just right. Added grilled chicken for $2.50. Generous serving of avocado. The black rice is a nice touch here also. Service: quick and helpful. Atmosphere: minimalistic and clean. It’s nice seeing a business stick to basics and not waste a bunch of money on crazy marketing gimmicks.

We can't say enough great things about Forage Kitchen! Scott was very kind and made some awesome recommendations, and everything was delicious. I ordered the Cultured Cobb and added chickpeas and pickled onions, my husband ordered the Power Bowl but did half lettuce half rice plus chicken, and then we shared a bowl of the chili. The food portions were generous and we loved everything we tried! Food was fresh, place was very clean and tidy, service was fantastic and prices were fair! It was hard to pick a favorite, but we LOVED the chili. We will definitely be coming back as regular customers.

Empty moment I went in, but food was fresh and tasty. The Thai basil sauce is in the top tier. The black rice was a great visual/taste sense.

Absolutely delicious! The tuna poke was amazing, and my kids loved the Caesar salad and wrap. This was our first time eating here, and we will be back regularly! The ingredients are so healthy and fresh. What a gem for our community!

I didn't really know how to rate this because I actually liked the food so I'll just explain how I got to 3 stars... I'll start by again saying that the food is pretty good, no issues there, if it was just the food in it of itself I was judging I would come back. But I'm totally dumbfounded by what happened in the ordering process. I got a create your own bowl...and I asked if I could see labels that they have, a page that faces them that says what everything is to create your own bowl...and I was told that I couldn't and that it's just for them to see. First off it just makes it pretty awkward to ask for a number of the different things are, especially when people are waiting behind you...but you also don't know what counts as an ingredient that you might get charged extra on. By the end of it, my bowl cost almost $20 and I saw it was pretty close to what the Fiesta Bowl is, which with chicken I think would have come out to like $13 or $14. But the problem is...there's no way to know that! I had no idea what the extra cost ingredients were until after I checked out and I wasn't going to make a big stink about it after it was already made. I just really can't wrap my head around the customers not being allowed to see the same labels and costs for the ingredients that the employees do. I've never seen something so bizarre. I guess I would recommend just the bowls they already have curated if you're going to eat there...but yeah I just don't get it.

Excellent healthy food and options to have it your way. Lots of good pairing bowls and salads. Green juice is available as well. Parking is street parking. Line moves fast and good indoors seating very clean throughout.
