The Gourmet Kayaking event was the best experience in every way!! The environments are gorgeous, having access to Jones Island was pure magic. I loved spending time with friends outside of the city hustle, enjoyed AMAZING food, and learned so much about sea kayaking. Our guides, Eli and Chance, absolutely made the trip! They were both incredibly capable, pivoted effortlessly when needed, and were very thoughtful about everyone’s preferences and comfortability levels. 10/10 all around!!

Chef Angela runs an amazing class! I learned so much about foraging, identifying, and cooking mushrooms. It was a super fun activity and great pacing of tasting, learning, and light hiking. Highly recommend the class. Angela thinks of every detail to make you feel comfortable and appreciated. We took home our own foraged mushrooms and some that she foraged ahead of time.

Google
I had the most incredible experience with Angela and Ben on their mushroom foraging and cooking adventure. From start to finish, it was educational, engaging, and so much fun. Angela and Ben are not only deeply knowledgeable about foraging but also passionate about sharing their expertise in a way that feels approachable and inspiring. We explored beautiful surroundings while learning how to safely identify different types of mushrooms, and their enthusiasm made the whole process exciting and accessible. After foraging, they prepared an absolutely delicious meal featuring the mushrooms we found — it was a true farm-to-table experience that I’ll never forget. Their warmth, hospitality, and genuine love for what they do made the day even more special. I left not only with new knowledge but also with wonderful memories. I can’t recommend this experience enough — thank you, Angela and Ben!

Google
I had a coworker recommend the chef led mushroom foraging event and am so happy I went. Angela took us into the beautiful forest and provided a variety of mushroom snacks, coffee, and tea. She has a charming personality and made the event so fun as she provided education about how to identify mushrooms and the different ways to enjoy them. If you’re looking for a unique experience, I highly recommend.

Google
Superb experience! Angela is fantastic! She's very knowledgeable and has a lovely personality. The tour is very thorough and I truly learned a lot. Everything from mushrooms to fresh greens. 10/10

Google
Amazing experience! Super fun and informative tour with immediate satisfaction of being able to cook a mushroom based meal after. All throughout the tour we got to have a tasting of what we found which also helped to build connections to what mushrooms we would want to continue to forage for on our own. Would 100% recommend wether you’re interested in mushroom foraging and/or building your cooking knowledge or just looking for another cool local experience to try.

Google
Absolutely extraordinary experience going to the San Juan islands on kayak! Our guides Chance and Eli were so knowledgeable and kind. The food was outstanding and overall just an unbelievable experience full of natural beauty, kayaking and great food.

Google
Very educational foraging session in the Spring at the Bridle Trail! We learned how to identify some mushrooms using the 5 rules. Ben was knowledgable and friendly. He also made us some tea made of turkey tail mushrooms! Highly recommended weekend activity 🍄

Yelp
This was my first time foraging, and I'm so glad I gave it a try. There was no need to worry about lack of experience - our guide Ben was incredibly thorough in going over the essentials before we even hit the trail. And the tea/coffee provided was very welcome as a way to warm up and awaken our senses before it was time to browse the woods. We didn't gather much, but the experience was more about learning how to pursue specific mushrooms and learning their appropriate habitats. The cooking demo and the bag of cleaned, prepared mushrooms to take home were both a nice touch as well. The cost seemed reasonable for the group size and the level of attention we each received, but it is important to note that an experience like this is an investment supporting a high quality small business. I look forward to trying other offerings from this company after I've saved up for them!

Yelp
What a fun time! Angela was a knowledgeable and entertaining guide/host. We did a walk where she told us about everything we saw, including greens we used for a salad, then had a snack back at the tables. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in mycology or just cooking w shoots.

Yelp
I had an absolute BLAST doing the Chef-Led Intro to Gourmet Mushroom Foraging & Cooking class with Angela. Despite the rain, she was super prepared (even providing hand warmers, tea/coffee) and we stayed nice and dry during the cooking experience. She is super hilarious, entertaining, and really knows her stuff. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!

Yelp
Super awesome class, lots to learn and appreciate about nature and mushrooms. Angela is an amazing host and teacher; gets you to love and appreciate all that nature has to provide. It was our first time foraging and the whole experience was outstanding! Super fun to come alone or with friends, all ages and love/knowledge experience. The cooking class was super fun too, learned so many things about cooking mushrooms that I now realized I have not been doing. This is your sign to book the class and forage some fun! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I booked the Seattle Mushroom 101 tour in late September. The booking process was clearly communicated and the location was fairly accessible (note that there was an option to pay for parking) I found the interactive portion of the class to be the most interesting and we were able to see a variety of mushrooms! Bring a notebook to take notes! I do communications and workshop facilitation in my day job and so I might make a few recommendations about improving the structure and flow of the sit-down learning portion, but overall it was a good starting point for future learnings.

Yelp
We attended the chef led mushroom foraging class with Angela and had a fantastic time! She was super knowledgeable, showed us how to cook mushrooms, and where to find them. Would highly recommend anyone to attend this if they're looking to get into mushroom foraging!

Yelp
Fun activity while on vacation in the PNW. Staff was friendly and helpful. Oysters were easy to get and we reached our limit quickly. Clams were a lot more difficult to find and we did not come close to our limit. They didn't want to be found. We took advantage of the boots they rent which were perfect for walking through the muck. Standing in one place and get you a bit stuck in the muck but it's easy to unstuck yourself. Recommend bringing your own cooler to take your finds home. All the directions provided to get to the location were extremely accurate and they were easy to find.

Yelp
Such an amazing experience with Angela! We found some really cool mushrooms and went on a nice short hike with our group. Some cooking tips for mushrooms that I had never known before! We got to try some mushroom jerky which was marinated & double dehydrated and even reishi tea. The mushrooms that we cooked were matsutake that Angela foraged on Monday in Packwood and black pearl. Delicious. We also tried some of her famous nettle shortbread cookies. Also, Angela might secretly be a stand up comedian because I laughed the entire event. So fun! Thanks Angela. Highly recommend this experience.

Yelp
Super fun event! Angela is so funny, attentive and an expert at everything related to mushroom. The tour includes learning about mushrooms, foraging, cooking and tasting the goods. Super fun, engaging and educational the whole way through.

Yelp
Couldn't recommend the Savor the Wild tour for learning about mushrooms enough - I came in with very minimal knowledge of mushrooms and came out with a whole new level of appreciation and enjoyment of them. There are delicious and tasty samplings of ways to prepare mushrooms as well as a small hike through the woods to uncover the vast world of mushrooms out there, and there's a LOT. Highly highly recommend if you have a spare weekend.

Yelp
Had an awesome time learning about mushrooms and how to forage for them. Angela was very informative and provided us with lots of helpful tips and tricks. We did the foraging and cooking class where she shared some delicious recipes with us!

Yelp
Super fun and educational experience! Started with some mushroom tea/coffee, and a demonstration of small bite prep and tasting. Spent around an hour in the woods finding mushroom and learning about them. Came back to the table and started cooking some mushrooms ‍ we also took home some Reishi tea at the end :) *Chef-lead experience

Yelp
Booked the oyster and clam digging tour for a couple friends and I. We've never tried anything like this before and were excited to try it. Before the actual tour day, Angela sent out text messages reminding us of the important details. It kept us very prepared. The actual tour itself started with an introduction, a raw oyster tasting, then we were given supplies, and we set out to hunt for shellfish. The entire time, we felt very well taken care of. Our guide, Ben, was super knowledgeable about shellfish and you could tell he was super passionate and loved the job. I mainly focused on digging for clams, so the guides came around to give me some oysters as well. We then took some time to clean our catch, shuck the oysters, and then went home. Overall, a super fun experience. I'd definitely recommend it if you've never dug for oysters/clams before and want a little taste of the experience. It is a bit pricey but with the guides' expertise and provided supplies, I think it was a reasonable price to pay.

Yelp
This event was amazing!!! Truly. Surprise and delight. Angela has thought of everything, all the little details. I was so impressed. Cold? She has hand warmers for everyone. The table runner is mushroom decorated, and mushroom lamps, and everything is compostable. I can't wait to bring friends next time.

Yelp
It's always a fun time foraging with Forage Seattle. Had Angela as our guide twice (so far once in fall and once in spring). Found chanterelles, matsutake, watercress, nettles and so much more! Also learned how to process the finds. Informative, engaging and yummy :)

Yelp
An amazing experience, we learned so much and can't wait to do our own foraging now. The food was incredible and we got a nice amount of oyster mushrooms to take home. I can't wait to do the fall hunt too.

Yelp
Angela/Savor The Wild Tours mushroom foraging 101 tour was great!! Angela is super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about mushrooms. We took a short little walk/hike into the Redmond Watershed, which I didn't realize existed not very far from the city, and Angela took us around to hunt for mushrooms. We tried some raw samples and were able to identify different types of mushrooms. I even got some oyster mushrooms. Such a Fun experience and now I feel a tad bit more comfortable identifying mushrooms locally!

Yelp
Went to a mushroom tour with my brother and my dad it was absolutely fantastic. They are incredible! They had a beautiful table awaiting us with personalized books and notes along with knives for us to use as we were foraging. They provided us with immense knowledgeable details for identifying mushrooms. They made medical tea for us to try it was amazing! Highly recommend. 10/10 experience loved every minute of it.

Yelp
Highly recommend doing the Foraging 101 w/ Cooking Class! It was a mushroom-packed 3 hours but me and my friends learned so much. From identifying edible mushrooms to how to prep and cook mushrooms. Angela was super funny and engaging, would love to take another class with her.
google avatar

Claudia H.

Yelp
An amazing experience all around! Educational, fun, and so very delicious! The dig and shucking was definitely hard work, made me understand and appreciate the cost of oysters in restaurants, followed by a well deserved feast. Thank you Angela and team!
google avatar

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
Went mushroom foraging today with Angela - fantastic trip! Funny, friendly and knowledgeable we got to wander the woods of Redmond and find Oyster mushrooms, Turkey tails and even a Reishi! Unfortunately she didn't get to cook for us at the end because the weather turned wild, but I'm sure it would have been delicious! She did give us great instructions on how to properly cook mushrooms so I'm definitely following her steps from now on. Run, don't walk to sign up for one of Angela's tours!

Yelp
This cooking experience was elevating in both my culinary and in-field educational understanding with mushrooms! We got to be hands on in a short hike to learn ways to ID, which helped increased my confidence. We had a chance to cook and try wonderful mushroom treats. If you're interested in the cross world of mushrooms and cooking, I recommend this beginner friendly class!
