A Guide to the Best and Worst Vegan Ice Creams - Eater

"Forager Project makes very decent vegan ice cream, and its vanilla flavor actually tastes like vanilla. Its base is made from cashew milk and is freckled with lots of ground-up vanilla bean. The texture is slightly on the icy side, something I can forgive because the flavor is so good. Like Oatly, this is one of the rare vanilla ice creams, vegan or otherwise, that I could happily eat all on its own. 8.5/10" - Rebecca Flint Marx

I've been trying as many dairy free creamers as possible the past 6 months. I saw this "Sweet & creamy Creamer" @ Sprouts. Agreeable ingredients, but in attempting to use it as a coffee creamer? The true problem is having to use almost 1/8-1/4 cup for it to add taste to the coffee. Too "oaty" a flavor I think - and it's the flavor they need to work on seriously. Thank you...PD, Las Vegas, NV.

Just discovered your Greek yogurt. Baby I’m amazed at how I love you! I’ve been a longtime fan of your original ORGANIC Cashew and Coconut Yogurt Alternative and was stoked when, on our last foraging trip to Whole Foods in Garden City (NY), my “what’s new” eyes beheld your new ORGANIC Greek Style offering. It’s destined to become a staple. “Yummy, yummy, I got love in my tummy…” Thanks for caring for our planet and its inhabitants!

My partner has been lactose intolerant for a while. Now with eczema, I can't eat cow's milk products either. We've tried various brands of vegan yogurts in the past and none of them really tasted like yogurt. So, when we found the Forager Organic Unsweetened Plain Cashewmilk yogurt while on holidays in California, we were thrilled. We LOVE the taste of this yogurt. When we returned to Canada, we contacted various grocery stores to find this yogurt. One vegan supply store located the distributer and brought some in. We went through one 24 oz tub every five days, essentially, we purchased a total of 6 tubs within a mont. However, when I opened a particular tub, I thought the colouring was strange. I also thought I saw some grey matter attached to the top plastic seal. So, I didn't eat or touch this and just put it back in the fridge. Sure enough, three days later, the moldy beige patches I saw grew to become grey patches. We purchased two more tubs, and they were bad as well. They belonged to the BB May 28, 2024 batch. Fortunately, the retail store restored our confidence by providing store credits, AND they brought in new batch, which looked and tasted normal. Yay! We love this yogurt and will continue to buy them. I ranked them five stars because the taste and texture make them the best in their class. And I happen to think that the bad batch is caused by inferior refrigeration in the delivery service.

Organic from Indio? Bwahahahaha that's funny! Typical overpriced junk that slaps a *sustainable* label with a green leaf on it and tastes like rotted cashews. Cashews are a major allergy trigger food, terrible!

I love all of your foods, but you've really done a great job with the creamer that you just offered.... The one with no gums and oils made with cashew, oat and almond milk.... Great job thank you so much

Forager is the only organic alternative vegan milk product on store shelves nationally. I e tried many other brands but none come close in taste to Forager Oat or Cashew milk. I bake with the oat milk and my baking turns out perfect because there is enough fat content in the oat milk. Love this product -I tell everyone I know who uses alternative milk products to switch to Forager Brand products - Stephen sugarman Saint Paul MN
