We came to try it out based on reviews by the barstool sports guys and I am so glad that we did. We sat at the bar…Merry S was our bartender/server. She was friendly and attentive. Great service!! We sat next to some locals who recommended the fig/bacon/fresh mozzarella pizza. Hands down the best crust and most flavorful pizza! Now I am going to try recreate it at home. We also had the original with fresh basil. I’m already ready to go back to New Orleans just for the pizza!

Amazing pizza and a great price. The sauce has that sweet tang to it. If you have ever had Il Rione in Cleveland, this is basically the same pizza. Idk how Dave rated this one higher than that one, but they are amazing. And this pizza is absolutely the best I had in new Orleans.

I was staying close by. I had a big lunch and needed a quick pick me up. I found this place and it was rated very good. I saw that they had pizza by the slice. I could choose from the many different combinations. But I saw they had Sicilian (square) pizza. I can't turn down a square. I ordered one at the bar. BTW, the bartender was awesome. I got my pizza and it was really good. I was surprised. Fresh tomatoes. Flour from Italy. Fresh cheese. The flavors was very good. I will return on my next trip. Large slices or Sicilians. Good price. Also a great place to meet friends. I recommend.

Favorite pizza in NOLA! There are plenty of places closer to our house, but we’d rather go out of our way to get Forbidden. Service is great, slices are huge, and it’s always delicious! Order online so you can skip the line.

Forbidden Pizza hands down has the best pizza in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Gulf Coast, full stop. We had a very large order, and every pie was cooked to perfection and ready on schedule. The pizza was a major hit with my large group; there was not a leftover slice to be found from our order of 4x Basic, 4x Pepperoni, and 4x Some Like It Hot whole pizzas (see picture). I can't recommend this place enough whether you're dining in or taking out!

This was our first time at Forbidden Pizza, and overall the pizza was really good! We were with two kids, so we got a half pepperoni, half basic pie, and everyone was happy. The atmosphere is laid-back and casual, perfect for grabbing a quick bite. It was pretty packed when we arrived and there’s limited seating inside, so we ended up eating outside—but it worked out just fine. The guy at the counter was super friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first visit. We’ll definitely stop by again next time we’re in the city!

The parmesan knots are soooo good. Grabbed a slice of pepperoni ! Freaking yum crunchy crust, spicy pepperoni! Delicious is all I can say ! Gotta eat here! And it's off the main strip of things! Everyone was super nice.

Hands down the best pizza in the city! We had a half All For Tru and half Ricotta Rendezvous which was amazing. We also had a slice of the Forbidden Fruit which upon taking a bite we knew we should have gotten a whole pie of it! All three white pies we tried were truly amazing. The crust of the pizza is superb and the portions are well worth the price. The space itself had a great atmosphere. We sat at the bar and the bartender was amazingly helpful and we loved all her suggestions! It does have limited seating, but it’s a great place to grab a bite and drink while watching the game. I will definitely be back for more!

I absolutely love this pizza place! I've been here twice and both times I have been I have left happy. The last time I was there I had pesto pizza with sausage! It was sooo good. Also the cookie was delicious as well. Not too soft, not too crunchy. Customer service was great! I love how they have the outdoor seating (just a few tables) but they have a bar inside and additional seating. If you're looking for a good pizza spot this is a must try! You can get individual slices too! Worth it!

Unfortunately this was pretty average to me. Bottom was a little too burnt in some places and not enough toppings to taste anything. It's about $5-$6 a slice and they're good sizes but I wouldn't get it again. The people working were very nice.

Nice little place of the beaten path. I was looking for something quick and good. I had eaten my through New Orleans and couldn't eat one more big meal. I found this place, not too far from my hotel. I walked over and almost missed it because it was unassuming. I walked in and sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome. She helped me pick a great pizza. There were many to choose from. I selected the Sicilian (square) pizza. I can't turn down a square. As a pizza snob from NY, I think I know good pizza. I took my first bite and I must say, it was pretty good. The sauce was tasty. The dough was good. Big slices. I was quite surprised. I would recommend this place.

Forbidden pizza has the best in town ! The slices are huge , fresh , & flavorful. The staff are also always friendly. The prices are very affordable and they offer in an array of different flavors each day. They also have a bar. Cute little cozy spot to grab a quick slice of pizza!

My friends and I came here to get pizza after hearing so much about it. In my opinion it's not the best pizza I've had, and I do think it's overhyped. The area itself and ambience were quite nice and casual. Staff were straightforward and helpful. I think I was just disappointed after hearing so much about their pizza. In terms of taste, I think other places such as Pizza Luna is better. I probably wouldn't come back for the pizza, but it's worth a try if you're in the area. The place is also quite aesthetic.

Stopped by after a conference for lunch. Had the Forbidden Fruit pizza, which was a really interesting take. This is a white sauce pizza, which I love as I'm usually not a fan of tomato sauce. It had dollops of ricotta, fig jam, and bacon. It was a perfect mix of sweet, salty, and creamy. Thin and crispy crust. Also shared a bit of the pepperoni pizza and it was great, nice and spicy with lovely crisp and oil. The restaurant is small, with a small amount of table sitting and bar seats. Overall, awesome! Will definitely need to try other things next time!

Satisfying pizza, but not amazing. I enjoy the fact that you can get most pizzas by the slice, but unfortunately not the truffle one which I was most excited for! Pretty big slices for a reasonable price. You order at the front and then bus your own table. Everyone is super friendly, but 18% tip being the lowest automatic option for no service? Hmmm. The seating is cute. You can sit in nice booths or by a well stocked bar! Also love how they were playing amazing throwbacks. I'd try somewhere new over coming back, but worth a visit.

Very vibey place and has great NY style pizza. Parking is street parking and the place is not huge but super cute inside. Would def recommend stopping by for a slice.

This pizza is an out of body experience. I am a St. Pizza fan. I didn't think I would find anything I love more than St. Pizza. I may have found it....or at least tied for my top spot. Pizza order takers are smiling and friendly. Pizza comes out pretty quick. Slices are huge, really good dough, significant amount of toppings. You can also get a whole pie, or do like we did and order 4 different slices and then order more slices of your favorites because you are hyper fixated on how perfect the truffle pizza is and proceed to be so full that walking home feels impossible but you do it anyway. I thought their cocktail and wine options were good and I liked the feel of their bar area. Very hip but still feels casual. You need to go. Get a margarita at the bar. Get a cookie. Enjoy and be ruined for every other pizza you try because it's just going to be less amazing. I'm writing this 3 months later and I can still vividly imagine how perfect this pizza was...

I love pizzas and I will try new pizzas if they are good. I want to say that the flavor of the forbidden fruit pizza was delicious. I think that given how thin and light are the toppings I would get 2 slices per person to satisfy your hunger, one pizza slice is just going to make you hangry. The service was nice, you wait your own tables, so clean up after yourself, order pizza at the counter or at the bar where you can get a delicious drink. Ambiance is very poppy and modern. Simple and elegant. Ac is blasting and seats are comfortable if you are walking alot in downtown, they do have cold free water! This is like New York style pizza so large and thin.

Lives up to the hype! Tried a slice of Original Sin and Pepperoni Pleaser. Both excellent- really appreciated the fresh basil on both. Thin and crispy crust, with a little bit of chew. Great flavor on the sauce. My friend got the one with fig and raved about it, as well as the one with pepperoni and sausage. I also bought a cookie which I wasn't expecting to be impressed by but WOW. It was fantastic. Service was fast and friendly. Full bar on the inside, pretty impressive. It's a really beautiful seating area. Can't wait to come back and try more slices or a whole pie! The only negative was the dough ball - compared to the garlic knots of Zee's and Pizza D, these pale in comparison.

Crispy. Thin. Amazing flavor. Got a slice of the forbidden fruit and a slice of burrata bliss. Both were great. The forbidden fruit got a little tough, I'm assuming from the sugars of the jam... but I should have just eaten faster. Lol. Also tried a slice of the some like it hot (can only get this as a whole pie). This was good, but not as good as the others. It was more floppy and I'm assuming it's bc of the fat from the meats? Banana soft serve was delicious. Was good. Would return.

What a wake up on the taste buds. I love a good pizza by the slice. It was so good I brought two more slices since the fam ain't the first one without me. This places takes pride in their food. Friendly staff with a nice vibe in the bar area. Definitely will be back.

I'm giving a 4 because my pizza could have been a lot more hotter, but overall this was a cute pizza spot and the pizza was delicious. The restaurant is designed where one half is a quick walk in service part of the pizzeria, and the other half has a bar with seating. They have a good amount of pizza options to choose from, but not too many that you may get overwhelmed. I ordered a slice of the Italian Stallion. The names of the pizzas were too cute. The portion sizes are great you and you also can order a whole pizza as well which was huge like a NY style pizza. I will be back to see what their drink menu is like and to try another pizza.

This place is packed at all times but I stopped in for a slice. One side of the space is a bar and the other side is where you place your order. It's very tight so a line usually forms out of the door. I got the daily special "some like it hot" which was pepperoni, jalapeños and hot honey. It was temperature hot and spice level hot which I lovedddd! I love that they used raw jalapeños! So so good!

Amazing! I came here and got two slices to go for lunch - did not disappoint! I love how many options they have to choose from for slices because most places only have maybe three or four but they have nine! Or at least when I went, they had nine. The Classics, of course, but also some more unique flavors like bacon, fig jam, and ricotta! Yummmmm!!!! I also got the Italian stallion, which is pepperoni and sausage. I do want to come back here and get a whole pie maybe sit down and have an actual meal because I didn't realize they had a space to sit. They also have gelato which I was really intrigued by, but refrained from ordering. I will be back here and I highly recommend you check this out! The cashier was also super cute & friendly lol not sure his name though.

I'll admit that I really wanted to try the pizza here because of Dave Portnoy's top rating when he was in New Orleans for the Super Bowl. Before then I hadn't even know about this restaurant. We came on a really busy day, but the service was quick and we had no problem finding a place to sit. They have a full display of all of their pizzas which helps you make a decision with your eyes vs the menu. We tried a couple of pizzas and they were pretty good. I wouldn't say it's my most favorite pizza, but definitely a good place to visit when you're in the area! Tiny, clean and new space. Four stools to dine in so really more of a to-go place. No beer or wine. Limited canned soft drinks. If you like thin crust pizza, then you'll like their pie. Big slices or whole pie options. My favorite was the Forbidden Fruit with that honey

My friends and I came on a rainy day and we were so lucky! There was no line. Seating is pretty limited though. I would come again for the hot honey pizza, but I'm not a big fan of flat crust! Don't get me wrong, I would eat it again but wouldn't go out of my way to come here!

This pizza shop is fantastic. The slices are huge, and the flavor combos are awesome. We went in on a Saturday night and it was a bit busy but we ordered slices and they were served super fast. The man at the counter taking orders was so nice. All the seating is self service, and there's not a ton of it. The sitting area inside is super nice with a great vibe and bar. There are also outside tables. Parking is all street parking which can definitely be tough in that area of the city.

This was my second time trying this place, and it's just as good as I remember. The line was long but moves quick!! I did to go, but they do have an area to sit and eat which looked really nice and cutesy. I love that you can get individual slices that are still hot and fresh. Also they don't use any garlic??? Insane that it still tastes so good without it.

Best pizza I have had in years. Had the She Thicc which was thick, light and crispy. Very generous with the cheese, pepperoni and delicious sauce. Took three friends there Friday who were equally impressed. Definitely my go to pizza place.

TWENTY INCH PIES. And slices, but TWENTY INCH PIES! It's been open a short while, but already they're top 3 pizza in New Orleans. Pizza Delicious, St. Pizza, and now Forbidden Pizza, have really brought NYC style pizza to the Crescent CIty. You will have to decide for yourself how the top 3 stack up. Quality ingredients are abundantly clear, and you'd swear that it was coal fired, just like the legendary classic joints in New York CIty. This is a thin style pizza, if you like Detroit, this isn't your place, and that's ok. This is unapologetically NEW YORK style pizza, made by people that LOVE New York Style pizza, for people that love eating New York style pizza. Had a split order, pepperoni, and basil, and I can't tell which I liked better. The basil was obviously fresh, and it was so tasty. The pepperoni was the right amount, and the flavor kicked! I'm so happy this place opened, and for those folks in New Orleans, we've got another great choice for good pizza!

Saw a crazy line in the morning for this pizza joint and went to go check it out later that day. Classic Brooklyn style slices with different toppings and arrangements. The flavor is really good and recommend trying a variety. Just delicious when it's hot and fresh, but the crust is a little chewy for my liking. Nice vibe inside and it is pretty casual and lively!

One of my new favorite places for pizza! I also had a slice of forbidden fruit (not pictured bc I ate it so fast. It was SO GOOD!) 100% will be back! Slices are HUGE so this pizza is totally worth the price. Also bought chocolate chip cookies (not pictured) - it was heavenly!

I finally checked out Forbidden Pizza in New Orleans, and it did not disappoint. If you're craving authentic Brooklyn-style pizza, this is the spot. I tried both the regular and the Forbidden Fruit pizza--let me tell you, that bacon jam on the Forbidden Fruit is next-level. It's sweet, savory, and totally unique. I wasn't expecting something that bold and flavorful, but it works perfectly. There's also a chill additional space to the left where you can kick back, watch a game, and enjoy good food with family or friends. It's casual, inviting, and definitely a new favorite for pizza nights. Can't wait to come back

I am a picky pizza eater with high pizza standards. This is the perfect spot to grab a whole pizza or just a slice. We opted for multiple slices and none of them disappointed. If you like a little heat I recommend the Some Like It Hot.

I oversee a manufacturer that produces Italian ovens for Neapolitan style pizza and let me tell you that this artisan style of pizza by Forbidden has to be the best pizza I've ever had! The long lines and hype over this place is definitely well earned. Can't wait for my next trip back to NOLA to grab a pie.

ordering process was super quick, they have plenty of options. the guy taking my order was super sweet and the pizza came out quick. very thin and had a crunchy exterior, which was quite nice. i would highly recommend this place, and so would dave portnoy!!

This pizza slaps! They notch up the experience with fresh basil and they grate parm right over it! The options were great, service phenomenal, and a full on pizza shop vibe. Love it, I'll be back! Also, reminds me of my Jersey shore summer boardwalk days!

I was hesitant to come back to this place because when they first opened, my experience wasn't great. I slid in there right before they closed a couple days after they opened, before the mass crowds started coming there (before Super Bowl). I wanted a quick bite to eat before going in the house and this place is right across the street from my house. I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza, and the bottom of the pizza was completely burned and charred. For $6 each which I thought was overpriced. When we walked in there the whole place smelled like smoke, but they were still selling pizza... that totally turned me off and I said I wouldn't come back. Then once they opened up the other side of the restaurant with the bar area and seating area and I started seeing these long lines all hours of the week and weekend coming there I figured I would give this place to try it one more time. So that time was last night and I was definitely Pleasantly impressed. They have definitely stepped their game up since they first opened, their bar/seating area on the other side is brand new cute and has two TVs for viewing sports etc. I got their daily special slice and it was prosciutto with ricotta cheese and honey which was AMAZING. I would've never thought of that combination on the pizza, but it was very very good. For $6. now that was worth the six dollars lol. The bartender Mary was very pleasant and welcoming, and we chatted with her for a bit. We will definitely be more consistent customers because it's literally across the street from my house so it's very convenient for anyone who lives in this area. Will be back!!

I was on a work trip and wanted something quick and easy found this location. Easy walk from the hotel. Pizza was really good. The service was quick. Location was easy and loved the decor inside, it's a small place but it's very cute. Definitely recommend.

Comming from a native New Yorker, I have to say that this is some really great pizza. After trying 4 days different of their most popular slices, I couldn't flat out say which one I liked better than the other. ridiculously consistent delicious flavors and great decor. I highly recommend trying it out!

Forbidden Pizza is a very small spot in the heart of downtown, a few blocks away from the Superdome, French Quarter, streetcar line. The service was quick and took only a few minutes for my slice. I ordered the Forbidden Fruit and it was delicious. I would call it an artisan slice. It had a very crispy thin crust. Probably the best pizza I have had in Nola and will be back.

WOW! WOW! WOW! If you love pizza, this is a place you CANNOT miss!!! Fantastic artisan pizzas, great flavors. Especially like that you could get single slices - very, very fresh and not stale - to try different types. Sausage, mozzarella and pesto YUM! Bacon, fig jam (yes!!) and cheese (Unexpectedly fantastic!!) pepperoni, sausage and red sauce, traditional but smooth and savory. Bar service was excellent!! Maybe the BEST zza I've ever had, certainly in the top three!!

Stumbled across this hidden gem in the Central Business District of New Orleans in my search for dinner. I have been on a pizza kick lately and Forbidden Pizza does not disappoint. With a charred crust that you might find in a wood fired pizza oven, the crust is crispy and chewy all at once. The sauce has a nice tang and the ingredients are fresh. The burrata is delicious and the small curled slices of pepperoni are perfect. Not only can they make a mean pizza but they can bake to boot! The cookies are fresh, soft and chewy, and tasty. There's not much space except for a bank of seats along a bar facing the window but I was told that they will be opening up a wall to the adjacent building to increase their dining room space. Only open for a month, I hope they are around for a long time to come.

I bought a whole pie to go, same one that Portnoy tried. I had high hopes, but honestly, I thought it was just OK. I saw a lot of other great-looking pies in the display case, so I plan to go back and try of the other options. For now, the tomato pie at St. Pizza reigns as my #1 pizza in the city.

Amazing Brooklyn style pizza in the warehouse district. Stopped by this place on there grand opening and grabbed a couple of slices while walking the dog. Super thin crust, just like I like it, the topping were high quality, love the added touch of the fresh grated parm, can't say anything bad about this place to be honest. Currently there space is small with only a few stools inside for counter seating and a few tables outside HOWEVER....they are currently renovating the space adjacent to them and plan to open a full service restaurant so I'm told. Can't wait for this gem to blossom! Go check them out!

One of our employees asked us to get everyone pizza and so we did. It took about 30 minutes longer than was promised, but they are very large so you can feed a large group of people. It was very busy due to a review from a famous individual recently. I would say that the bartender was extremely friendly and the Mojito was very good.

I stopped here really quickly before a night out and I cant wait to go back! I ordered 2 pepperoni pleasers and asked for fresh basil. The inside was cute, everyone was friendly, and the service was quick. I will return for a whole pizza soon!
