I'm a huge Lions fan, and we've been to this stadium a couple times. We did the tour they do the day after games for like $10 per person, and learned a lot of cool stuff about it, too. One nice thing about it is that sections 100, 200 and 300 are all the same distance away from the field. Most stadiums expand out, so section 300 is up higher and it's further away. At Ford Field, the sections are pretty much straight up and down vertically.
Last season we went to the Sunday night game against the Steelers, and we paid A LOT of money for Club seats. My husband is very tall, so I was ok with spending the extra so we'd be more comfortable. If you google it, sections 226 to 235 are supposed to be Club. Well, section 226 DOES NOT HAVE CLUB LEVEL SEATS!!! We were SO disappointed!!! Section 227 has the nice cushioned larger seats, but 226 has the same dumb tiny hard ones. We were squished and uncomfortable. Such a waste of money!!! :(
I didn't walk over to look, but I assume it's the same on the other side, so 235 is not actual Club seats, but 234 is.
They are still technically "Club level" seats, so we did get to enter the venue at the Club/Suite entrance, so at least that part worked. There was a twitter contest, so I tweeted a picture of myself as soon as we got in, and I won sideline passes! So, we got to do that, which was a really cool experience, but I didn't eat or drink anything I was planning on because we were on the field until kickoff. The lines in the Club area didn't seem any shorter than the others, and they were actually so long by the time we were headed to our seats that I didn't even eat anything. The bathrooms also didn't look any nicer. I'd say the only reasons to buy Club seats are for the bigger, nicer seats, and the separate entrance. Just make sure you book a section that actually has the nicer seats!
All that being said, Ford Field is a nice venue. The new tv's are great, and the bathrooms are even nice, considering they're stadium bathrooms. We were staying at Greektown and walked back after the game. We felt safe, even though it was like midnight. However, it was hard to find restaurants open that late on Sunday night. Ford Field made an announcement that a couple places were staying open after the game, and we wanted to go, but couldn't find them. We asked 3 people working there, and none of them could tell us where to go either. It was a bummer because I really wanted a Pepsi in an overpriced Lions cup (yes, seriously), but I didn't have a chance to get one.
